I have seen some things on articles.
People have all so said that we would be better off if time travel could be to our advantage & use.
Now the question I am asking is would it be more benefical to the world if we could do such a thing?
I've said it before and i'll say it again, just because we can do something doesn't mean we should.
Good or bad, things happen for a reason.
I see what you say but you stll mis the question do you think it is benefical???
No, I do not. Everyone, at some point, says 'If I hadn't done that, or this, how would my life have turned out?'
Your choices put you where you are today, you may not be happy where those choices have put you but that is for you to change in the PRESENT, not the past.
I don't think it would be beneficial. I think that things happen for a reason and we shouldn't screw with that. It is important to learn from our mistakes and the things that happen in our lives in order to grow.
When contemplating time travel it is of grave importance to first review the word paradox...
query~ you travel back in time have a fight with a person of your age, and in rage you kill them...
That person was your forefather prior to their having children...
Will you have ever been?
I think that we are doing a wonderful job of screwing up this time. No need to go and screw up the past or future...
totally agree with NightIntrigue... me for example... I have things that have not worked well in the past... I am never sorry for what I have done... If a had the chance to time travel I would not do it....in order to change the past....and here I want to ask crowgirl about the cangind of the past... where you think will end a change of the past... and I mean ...."you change the past " => "you change the future" in the future is you again... and you change it again or how you explain this...I don't understand.
that is a perfect response gothmari. kudos...I think that sums it up
no i thinkit would be more trouble than what it was worth
More trouble then what it is worth you say but then all so it would solve a lot of mysteries & puzzles which would help to advance civilzation.
I mean for example we would be able to see about jesus walking on water that would answer Jesus walking on water or not.
I say all so we would be able to slove the problems that put or country in to debt for instance........We could make it to were Bush did not become president.
And all so change what the english did to africa so many things that we could benefit from it.
But only like highly-trained personel I say with like a key or pass or something could access the powers.
But the key to all the mistakes made in the past is NOT changing them, it's learning from them. If you don't learn a lesson the first time, or don't even get the lesson, you will make that mistake over and over.
Ok time travel … tough one……..
Logically man is corrupt with power… absolute.
Time travel in anyone’s hands would mean corruption … be it now or in the future or past …. Someone will steal the time or make one ……. Some spy…. And then we wouldn’t be in this reality anymore……… time would be changed … we would be enslaved…. And that’s why I don’t believe time travel possible…… the paradox of corruption proves it will never be made as long as were not slaved and living sort of free … except for credit cards our new slave masters…. Damn … someone did invent a machine. Lol
History should not be changed, nor should we know that the future holds. I don't think it would be good to change the past. Even if we are on a path to death and destruction, changing the past could quicken that process. Then again, we could also prevent our birth. If you think about, if we go back far enough, we could do something to prevent the human race from ever being created.
Do you think that would be a benefit for the humans not to be created bloodmoonshifter?
And does everybody always have to assume the worst some things are meant to be good I mean like the light for instance was a good invention.
You never know what will be the outcome til it happens so we can not try to presume the consequences before it happens.
I don't know if it would benefit anything if mankind was never created. All I know is that I'd rather not not exist.
If you may say why you would not want to exist even send a private message.
I personally believe that time travel would be beneficial to the world, People would be able to possible prevent such horrors as 9/11/01.
well I see both points of view on this.
it should be left alone because as many already said we have lessons to learn and we have made choices to be where we are at This Time and Space.
Yet I also see that it could be beneficial to us if we could, ONLY if it was NOT to Change History yet to as you said to see Jesus walk on water or any other Mysteries so that people could be more enlightened by the true facts.
Yet MAN seems to always screw something up and have to go farther than what they need to in order to find out things and therefore It would not be beneficial to us at all, IN Fact it could very well destroy us.
We as a Race are very inquisitive about things so if we had this power of time travel well I feel someone at some point and time would screw it all up and cause terrible chaos for the Human race.
If we could guarantee that it was used strictly for learning and not CHANGING then yes.... BUT, As I said I do not see that being the case so NO Time travel would eventually destroy us at some point. just my opinion is all.
well I am glad you agree cause believe me there is ALWAYS someone out there looking for Power and control so it would be a Human Flaw to even comtemplate the ideal of such an enourmous power ....
unfortunately we as humans still have not learned how not to be power hungry and controling of things beyond our reach... Someone always wants MORE, and More ....sad yet true.
The worst thing about the thought of time travel is, and we have all thought this, but someone would more than likely use it go and help the powers of WWI or WWII
you are so correct on that someone would want to change the outcome of the world wars that is a given ....
Yes but the world wars I mean they make laws that you can only go to certain places & times.
I think it will beyond just war…. But to start with who wants to win a war… it is more profitable to keep it going to show off your powers to sell to other countries the most useful tanks and jets n missiles… also you have to help rebuild those that lost .. it cost to win.

bugger double click double post forum master can you pull this and the other one lol
thanks ;-)
LOL maybe yet all laws are made to be broken by some one that is Power hungry or just wanting to control and change things so that to me is not very reassuring at all.
We have terrorist Laws and well you see what happened on 9/11 so laws do not mean squat in my opinion if some one wants to break it they are going to.
I mean it is not like you could keep it from happening ...
Why do we always go to war & religion when it comes to these subjects???
well war and religion is what has always made history and our world is based on such facts. It has always been an issue with all races and countries that someone or something cause war due to the beliefs of another. I mean why are we in Iraq... we do not need to still be there they have been in a religious war since forever what makes our President thinks us being there is gonna change how people belive ... hell cannot even do that in any country seriously.
War and Religion just go hand in hand and people or someone is always using it to create Chaos. Bottom line...tell me a war that does not involve some kind of Belief of religion or control of some kind ...
always a power struggle someplace ..
Major event follow war n religion they go hand in hand in my view.
Civilizations knowledge lost as they lost the war.
Very profound.
History is a paper tissue of half truths wrote by the winning hand…….
very well put.... I agree with the half truths of war. We only know what they want us to know and that is another reason for us not to have Time Travel it would only cause chaos ...
Things should be and will be left alone -
It is what it is , for good or bad .. Plus time travel will never happen ..
Care to expand on that comment memnoch123
Why wont time travel ever happen

Double click again…. Too much playing games on pc im trigger happy with me clicks
Time travel into the future could be quite interesting and relatively harmless.
But the butterfly effect would mean that any successful time travel to the past WILL have extreme effects on our present. So; bad idea.
I quote Thorn with these words, and they are understandable, "Why is there enough religion to incite war, but not enough religion to instill tolerance?"
We can split an atom but even Einstein said we cant time travel. We might be able to see the future if we could curve time enough to see what is in the future.
But why do this the whole thing being a mystery is far better then knowing the exact moment of your death or what future war is looming out there
It could be good, as long as some conservative "nowist" did not go back and kill the person that came up with the idea...or people did not go back to times when people were ignorant and stole things or killed people, or other things. No...it would be bad. People could do anything and get away with it. Say you want someone to be hurt. Now say your at a party when you want that person to be hurt. Two days later, you go back in time and kill them. You have lots of witnesses that say you were at the party. What then? What if people got stuck in loops. Say you go back and kill youself, then what? Would you merely not succeed because you are still alive? Would you die and then disappear? Too many ifs and whatnots. It would be bad, in my eyes.
the whole ideal and even theory of time travel is so unstable that it would be very harmful on so many levels to me that it just is crazy to even want to do it. I mean just like the movie the butterfly effect he did it so many times and yet in my eyes he still did not get all right ... I just do not think that we are even ready for such an enormous responsiblity as to Time travel.
The first time we split a dimension we are not far from time travel. The problem is it would destroy this relative place.
The thought of being able to travel throughout time is an exciting one. However, as tempting as that would be when you get right down to it I think it would be a disaster. Traveling into the past would mean constantly changing the present and the future nothing would be stable, you could lose loved ones or you may not even exist any longer depending on the changes that occur.
although it would be really cool to know what killed the dinosaur's
According to the Creationist museum, we ate the dinosaurs, even after all the hassle noah went through getting them on the ark.
I kid you not. Look it up.
Man these are all very good opinions I am atonished at the marvelous answers we are getting in this post.
Thank you all for this information.
exactly once we do split the dimensions then Time Travel is not far behind .. yet as it was said what would become of this place the now and present how do we know that it would not destroy all that we know and love now in this place and time.. I for one would not want to even think about all the wrong things that could happen to us and everyone invovled
it is just best to be left alone ...
i agree with darkladydahlia its best to leave timetravel alone. if it is possible, we dont need to do it
...If time travel became possible (I'm not going to say it even is for that matter), but if it did, then would be traveling faster than the speed of light be much more difficult. I'd have to say not...but then again, you never know.
In the case we could stop bad events from happening yes.
In the case it would totally change history if we did, no.
well traveling in time and just traveling at the speed of light to me are 2 different things. maybe I am wrong yet one is just a way for speed and travel where the other is to go through time and dimensions and maybe even tearing the whole time loop as we know it. just is totally different in my opinion.
Action, reaction,and counter action
For time travel to be done properly one would need to isolate a complete environment and all the people involved in the experiment as well during and "after"the trial period we would do best to build up from minutes.I warn against time travel but time portal viewing that is tempting a window only with out presence would avoid rifts.
okay so in time travel I ask would 1 hr seem like a minute to us???
yes i do believe so but it could also feel like second to us as well.
But if it is possible how would it be faster then the speed of sound??
So far, nothing is faster than the speed of light - so if you were to travel, it would have to be faster than the speed of light - hence faster than sound.
However, if for some bizarre reason you had an infinite density, you could potentially increase the speed of sound to faster than that of light. The problem there being that you wouldn't be able to observe it simply because of the density.
Back on topic. If you could time travel, the only way I see it happening is through a wormhole, would it benefit us? I should think not. Familiarize yourself with the concept of light cones. One action does not simply affect one other action. It affects a multitude of things. So, yes, while many societies went to Africa to enslave people (as well they did to the Irish) which in turn may have created contempt centuries later in the United States - a number of beneficial events also occured as a direct result. Some of our best literature comes from African American authors and poets. I would not trade it for the world.
So you would not trade the innconent lives of others so you could have a good book to read wolfs?
When you put it that way, it does sound rather crude. But I hope you did notice that that I said a single event doesn't simply affect the next event in line. It has a pond ripple effect on everything surrounding it. This is why I gave the light cone as a source of reference.
W.E.B. DuBois would not have contributed nearly as much to Sociology without the racial conflict of the time - and as a result we have a stronger grasp on how to go about social improvement. Martin Luther King wouldn't have had to make an impact on the United States, nor would he have been prompted in the least. These minds that wrote books and spoke wisdom for others (not just myself) would not have existed had previous lives not been lost. It only echos what others have already said here. These men and women learned from the past - from their own sufferings. We would do a great dis-service to the world by trying to change the past.
time travel is like a ripple in a pond.it has both good and bad effects.now if you were to go back in time you would be likely to mess with the chain of events.say you could go back in time and kill hitler,it would cause a chain of events that could proove catostrophic for the whole wide world.this is my oppinion
There are movies that actually intelligently approach this subject. The movie that I'm thinking about isn't necessarily that great of a movie, but I thought that there was a significant scene that addressed time travel in the movie The Time Machine with Guy Pearce and Jeremy Irons. Every step that has been made causes and effects the following steps and actions. How do you undo something and understand the full ramification of its influence? Some of the worst inventions and breakthroughs were done with good intentions but the results were catastrophic. What may seem like a vicious deed to undo may result in other ones? Where we are now and reviewing what happened in the past would be irrelevant when you change it as that initial place and vantage point no longer exists? I think that it would be a detrimental development and would not in the end benefit humanity.
I think it would harm the world, anything u change in the past, will affect the futre
Wolfkiller -
If time travel were possible, changing anything in history could have devistating effects.
Everything in history happens for a reason.
Anyway you look at it time travel would be castrotrophic. Sure we could go back and kill hitler before he rules germany. But that was the way it was meant to happen and it could have more severe effects on the time line and cause a paradox.
If you see the movie: The Butterfly Effect, then you will get the point I am adding.
Time travel is a very risky bussiness to attend. It deals with space and time flux's as well as what one does when experiancing such.
Not only would you have temporal rift changes, appearances, distortions, but you would also have the trouble of changing events from the past into outcomes for the present. Since the future is not yet written, then nothing would likely happen in that time.
The concept sounds completely interesting, but the negative aspects of such would be uncontrollable. Say you step on a flower...Would this species of flower end it reproductive cycle in the present, or the polination of such flower interfere with insect growth, and or weather and climate change? All things must be considered when thinking about time travel.
Quantum physics is a very interesting aspect when working with theories and investigations concerning this topic. Even though you are just standing in one spot in the past, this would change the present accordinglyl. There are always reprocussions for any type of event occuring at any moment in time.
Personally I am not sure that I believe that it will ever be possible for us to time travel. But if we could, I still think that we shouldn't becuase it could mess up the future or the present, like if you mess with some event that may have occured in the past then I am sure that it could have consequences on what the future will hold.
I believe if such a thing was possible it would cause conflicts in the world ..
Now soulshroude I put this question to you.
If we went back way in the past maybe we could all so change things for the better.
I mean to say maybe we could make it to were global warming happened but not to the extent it is at right now.
And all so we could close the hole in our atomosphere that lets in u.v rays.
I understand where you others are coming from but how did we get the light invented by taking a chance & seeing the outcome. Right??
So what would be the difference here let's try it out because you will never know until we the human race try it out.
So therefore we can not pass judgement on something we have not experienced.
The movie butterfly effect is meaningless in comparsion if this really happened I mean can you believe all the possibilities coming from it??
Alright, let us put it this way...
Aliens, figuratively speaking of course, let us say that the aliens of today, are us from the future. This being said, would you not think it a trifle freakish to see us from the future, trying to fix issues such as global warming on a grand scale?
Think about it, we travel to the midievil times, or the western era, fitting in with the crowd, when all of a sudden, we bring out a wrench to fix one of our machines.
Since the wrench was not invented way back then, the natives would get a bit wrestless to say the least, not to mention the machine they see.
"What in tarnation is that gadget?" "By the gods, what is this contraption?" But you get my drift. Even though one era might be a bit more understanding than the other, this is not for certain. Just look at us in what we believe is the present.
My point being, huge tasks such as these would be rather blatant and confusing in other ages of history.
I see what you say is true but take the army of darkness into account that man ran in with a shotgun & chainsaw.
They didn't kill him they used his superior knowledge to help them figure out things.
This is my point with the era of undestanding concept...Other eras, such as madmen with guns looking at you as if you were some ghost, or creature from the black lagoon. Would not work out so well. Shoot first then as questions later, if you survive...This is what we call barbaracy. Things we have had to live with, and on certain scales...Still live with in the present.
I see good sir what you are saying but with all the knowledge we in the present possess I don't think we would need a wrench to fix things we have always be known to come up with subsitutes.
Would you put the duct tape down already Wolf?
J/K back in to the discussion, the point I am trying to make, is the fact that if someone or a group of individuals traveled to the past, aside from the consquences, the society may look at them and wonder...What the F*CK!! Worst case scenerio, they would be considered daemons and burned at the stake.
LOL mate I see what you are saying I will admit this is one good arguement or debate.
Now I have a final question for you nobody else answer.
Why is it we the human race always resort to the worst possible scenrio?
It is within all human or other species nature, that we resort to ill behaviors when we do not understand. This is a sociological viewpoint for all kinds, whether it be human or otherwise...It would be stated as a fundamental "Groupe syndrome" like that of a riot atmosphere, protect your own at all costs.
This being said, differan things are handled with either force, love, lust or other emotions depending on the situation.
In this case, the closeminded scenerio would develope with the little understanding said group/individual has, like that of religious persecusion. The zionist would have a field day, thus as would any other cultureally depribed mundane for that matter.
On a side note, you could have messaged me without interrupting the thread...I would have still answered within the forum regardless.
Staying away from wolfkiller's query and remaining on the main question of time travel, bad or good.
I agree with most of the answers already given here, sure it's a fun idea and yes you can go back to the past and try to correct mistakes..until you think about it. What would be the consequeces of your action, after all every ripple has an effect. Change one thing and your entire timeline would be effected and ultimately people grow from learning and then moving on.
Well .. I think there would be a better worst case scenerio if they happened to go back to the Spanish Inquisition.
You know something that would be a bad time but how about the salem witch trials.
The Salem Witch trials was bad, but not horrible. Not very many people were killed by witch accussations during then. But many were imprisoned.
Well yeah true but still if you poped out with a backpack & gear for traveing such as cooking pans you know the nesscities for modern day travel.
They would be asking how did you make such things appear. lol
I'm sure if someone did that they'd be killed before they had the chance to answer.
Unless, you know, they were smart enough to bring along a good gun.
I suppose so hey what is your opinion on this post do you think it would be relevant if we had the proper capabilities?
If we had the abililty to travel through time its effects would be catastrophic.
If we went into the past, and changed something that was supposed to happen, it would be ... not too good.
Because that means people both 'good' and 'evil' [depending on your views] would have access to do time travel.
And it wouldn't do too well if Hitler lived longer than he did or Sudam was never caught.
oh god weve screwed the future of the planet up please please dont let us time travel
Very true so it would have its good outcomes & bad outcomes is that what you are saying?
I think no matter what the good intention man by his very nature would exploit it. Also lets say someone goes back and kills Hitler a good thing yes? or maybe not as then Stalin could of turned on the rest of the planet sooner would have had more resources to develop weapons etc. I really think it is for the best if the human race never learns to time travel.
Well I will say this the human race has looked out for one thing that is ourselves so I guess we would use it to the fullest extent.
But because humans do look out for only themselves, they'd look to change the past without thinking of the consiquences.
I agree well with this subject being done and closed I would say it is time to close it up because we all agree it would not be for the best.
You know what I mean nocnamora they may believe it would have good motives but it would still be a bad invention. lol
Haha, yes. But there might still be people who have an opinion to post on this topic that haven't yet.
Okay well we better stop so they don't close because of length then. lol
