In the real world it does matter about what blood group you are and what can give to. My Mum and 2 brothers are o+ one brother and 2 step are A+ one brother and farther are ab+ and Im A (rhd)-. So really only my mum and 2 brothers can recieve any blood the rest of us cant

If a living human who say he or she is a vampire so ofcourse he or she can get HIV/AIDS by drink infected blood. But it also exist different bloodtypes for example
Type A (AA , A0)
Type B (BB , B0)
Type AB (AB)
Type 0 (00)
What happen if someone who have type A drink Type B ?

_I don't think it really can matter, save for the drinking of diseased blood. In the real world, the transfer of blood from one person to one's own body is only for the nutrients in the blood, not to fill their veins as in the fantasy aspect of the vampire. Therefore, I don't believe that a person with, say, A+ blood would be harmed if they drank the blood of someone who has O-._

I doubt that blood types matter, since it is being injested rather than transfused.

You can verify that now. If you a type B and you drink a warm cup of A, you will not die or suffer any ill effects due to the consuption of the off blood type.

Now slap on IV on your arm and pump that big cup into your blood stream, and you are going to start feeling really bad, really fast.

If you are talking about sanguine vampires, I don't think it really matters what blood type the donors or the vampires are just as long as the donor is free of any blood transfered diseases such as AIDS/HIV and many others, however I could be wrong.

I would say that blood type doesn't really matter...as for the transferring of AIDS/HIV unless you were to consume a large amount of infected blood it should be okay...

Although I would suggest you stick it clean donors...

For the Sanguine vampire it shouldn't matter as it is not being diffused directly into the veins but rather just ingested rather like the blood you may ingest when eating any type of meat that is on the rare side.

No one can protect themselves from all of the negatives of the risks, however, as in any activity, educate yourself and surround yourself with members you can trust... The blood type only matters if your body tells you so... and some times a different blood type matters to your body... We are truely unique creatures...

Now that I re-read the question, I realize that you are also asking about those that consume blood.

There is some danger to this associated with blood-bore patogens.

HIV should be fine as long as the blood does not contact sores or open wounds, but who in their right mind would choose to take a chance with HIV?!?!?

A bigger danger would be hepetitis. This is some very nasty stuff, and the fear of liver failure should scare the tar out of you. This is one beast that could care less about the method of transfer.

I am sure there are others that I am not aware of, but blood consumption can stay in the movies and books as far as I am concerned...

As far as I know, there have been no documented cases of sang vampires falling ill for consuming a different type of blood then their own. It is not like a blood transfusion because its digested and most sangs do not drink a substantial quantity of blood.

Fiction: If a vampire was at an orgy with humans who were allowing vampire nibbles and tastes (not killing them) and one of the humans had hiv, presumably the vampire could infect all the humans with his blood smeared mouth.

Another neat approach would be that a vamp becomes a carrier of any and all blood-boune diseases as they feed, and that anyone they nibble on get infected will all of the diseases that the vamp carries.

Kind of like the kamodo dragon and their bacteria filled mouths. It is not the bite the kills you, it is the infection from the bite the kills you...

Well this question depends on what your beliefs on vampires are. If you think about a vampire is "undead" Which is the living dead. Could a living Blood transmited disease be living in a body that isn't dead. Also vampires can heal themselves, or so people say. So if they did get a disease they could heal it and it wouldn't really effect them. But also I'm sure if you DRANK the blood type A and you were B that it would give you an upset stomach the only problem with that is the blood won't work in a transfusion. But if you drink it I'm not sure what could happen.

Sanguine vampyres may take any blood, of any blood group, and any Rh factor. Blood contaminated with a virus, such as Hepatitis B or C, or HIV, are potentially dangerous and should be avoided. However other blood constiuents such as cholesterol, sugar, and most medications have little or no effect. Only blood born pathogens, as above will cause disease in the one who drinks the blood.

You can become sick from diseased blood, but when consuming it, the blood type itself doesn't matter much.

For drinking purposes, blood type wouldn't matter. If it did, people would get sick rare meat depending on thir blood type!

But yeah, I agree about the dangers of infectious diseases! You NEVER know who has what, and a lot of people have crap like hepatitis, etc., and don't know it themselves because they haven't been tested at the right stage, if they've ever been tested!

As for blood types. As a sanguine it is a very involved proposition. We don't just feed on anyone anywhere. We choose mates and donors. Then go through the process of having blood screening done to remove any variables. Then we stay within our own groups. Also Blood type are only important if your receiving a transfusion or organ transplant because of rejection issues. Sanguines are both blood drinkers and very emotional psychologically fitted to one another. It's not just jump in head first and come what may. It's a choice between donors and feeders and we are very careful who we invite into our world. Thus protecting other in the process. Just because we choose this lifestyle doesn't mean we don't take other into consideration.

Even the slightest amount of contaminated blood can give you HIV/AIDS etc.

Besides, you cannot drink blood in large amount, it would coalgulate in your stomac and kill you...sorry but that is a fact.

To your question; Bloodtype itself does not matter. Some blood is sweeter than others but that has to do with their chemical structure.

A few people on here have commented about different blood types having unique tastes... is it true? which one is tastier?

It would be an awkward question to pose to a donor not to mention how many potential donors that you would rule out based upon taste preference.

This has been basically beaten to death, but I'll reiterate the position that I don't think blood type matters for sanguine vampires that ingest blood.

People receiving blood transfusions, however, should totally make sure they receive the correct type of blood for them. That's common knowledge for most adults.
