Everything evolves … might be slow might be quick in disaster times.
I was thinking the Vampire must also Evolve .
What do you think will be the Vampires next Evolutionary stage?
Hey lav question before I make a statement why do you think a vampire should evolve and are we talking about real sangs or the novelty one?
Well, when you consider that vampires to most people are the living dead and that they haven't changed much in most peoples eyes throughout the ages, is it possible for them to evolve?
Good question mate …. Both lol
If I say myth then some twits will do drive by post like “vampire are not real” and feel they have helped there weak reality and fragile lacking existence doomed to believe what the latest scientific excuse for lacking research or political or religious views.
This way both sides can have a say on energy or blood or flesh or dreams or well you understand lol
Okay you ready here is a statement for both........
Novelty one,
A vampire in this sense hasn't changed in over millions of yrs and so I do not think they can evolve and I say this purely because they are dead and I do not think things w/o existence can evolve.
Now as to the real sang one,
This one I think they will evolve as mankind evolves do to the fact that real sangs are humans so therefore will evolve when humans do.
Now for something what if in the near future they made a biological advancement and down the unknown I mean to say what if they made like a cyborg vampire with enhancements like the "the Unisols" in universal soldier????
I think the ability to drink more blood than currently one is able too. I think this will happen as sites like VR get couples together and the offspring will be more concentrated DNA than normal of vampirism nature
Vampires would evolve. The argument “They are dead, therefore they can’t evolve” is a faulty one because the linguistics involved are confusing.
Vampires need to feed to survive, they think, they talk, they sense – those are the fundamental characteristics of life. Thus, they are not “dead” in the normal sense of the word. Call it “undead” or whatever you want, but it’s clear that they are “alive” in their own way. Everything that is alive evolves.
Seeing as evolution strives for constant improvement, vampiric evolution would consist of (approaching) immunity from sunlight, garlic etc and better blood-extraction from the victim.
EarthGhoul,
I don't mean to take off course but earth ghoul I think you are wrong for the important reason that means vampires are like zombies and most agree that a zombie and vampire are not the same so I believe they are dead because a zombie is un-dead.
Besides all the organs in a zombie work they just need flesh to keep them going while a vampire has only one part and that is it brain working.
Lav,
Why do you say what you say is there some book or something that gives evidence to your statement?
WolfKiller, I didn’t understand anything from what you said – and what I did understand made no sense.
I am wrong for the “important” reason because vampires “are like” zombies and “most [people] agree” that they “are not the same” so “you believe” they are dead because zombies are undead?
Now that is one confusing sentence heaped with contradictions and, at best, shady inferences.
I can not put it any more clearly than this: vampires live*, therefore vampires evolve.
* “Live” is obviously a bad word because it sounds contradictory, but that’s a matter of simple linguistics.
*drives by and gets out of the car to further help his weak reality and fragile lacking existence doomed to believe what the latest scientific excuse for lacking research or political or religious views.*
:)
I believe that if a vampire existed, such as the mythological one, they would eventually evolve to the point where they could drain someone of their life force completely, much as a psy vamp feeds...no longer would be the need to bite their victim. Look at the evolution of the mythological vampire to date..from Nosferatu to Dracula to the creations of Anne Rice. I could imagine a vampire being much more than the Anne Rice version in the future...able to hypnotize their victim and drain them without ever having to touch them.
The ones who are living..must evolve in the same manner as the rest of the humans evolve. Or is it more of a de-evolution process we are going through?
Okay earthghoul,
I said a zombie has all there funtions working whereas a vampire does not in the case of a fictional one the reason this conversation ensued if because you failed to specify which one you were talking about.
I am just saying be more specific sir and please don't flame me it is not kind and shows yours lack of manners.
I thought the sentence “Vampires would evolve” (“would” indicates that I mean the fictional one) and me naming examples of their evolution (sunlight, garlic, feeding) would make it clear that I was talking about the vampire of legends.
And please don’t use zombies to support your claim that vampires are dead (I never thought I would ever say something like that). Zombies have got nothing to do with this.
“[Fictional] vampires live, therefore they evolve” is the only logical assumption to me, but seeing as we’re talking about something that’s not real, everyone is entitled to their opinion because there are no true, hard facts.
Awww come on people...can't we just agree to disagree?
*gets back in his car and drives off*
MisterStikki, I think I said that in my previous post. We're not debating reality so there's no right and wrong; so it's futile to debate.
Well I am sorry if I am being flamed by a lv.3 shadow who from what keeps saying is not opening up his mind to other things besides his own beliefs.
I am sorry sir but I leave this thread because of your own stupidity if you wish to speak there is a message on my profile you can click.
I am saying from how you explained that you say vampires and ZOMBIES are a like because you said vampires have there funtions working well so do zombies.
Then I said most agree they are not alike so a vampire in the fictional as everybody agrees is dead and since you are talking about a fictional you will agree to what I am saying.
A vampire is dead because all it has working is its brain everything else inside is dead but all the parts in a ZOMBIE work because they need to feed on living flesh to keep them going.
Ok I have to agree with Earthghoul that they live therefore they evolve, I mean if something lives even a Vampire they will evolve because that is just the whole process of growing, adapting and changing over time.
Does anything that lives *not* Evolve? so I feel they will evolve always and that is just an opinion, I mean alot of this is *fictional* right? maybe not who is tosay really.
SIPW,
I see what you to are saying nut everybody and every movie and every book agrees they are dead "Fictional vampire" is dead and just needs to feed on blood because that is what a storybook teller said they do.
in my view if they need something to go on then yes thy are living.......... just to add to what you are talking about......
there is alot of room for improvement.......... i think there will soon be better ways to exctract blood so i does not mean death to the victium every time..... i also believe that as the humans evlove so will they in the sense that they are a food sourse....... evloving could as well come frome more devloped vamp babies as well.... there are many ways that every thing could come about..... which waywill it go i am not sure but who really is?
You call me stupid and refer to my rookie status to back up your argument? I don’t think you can get any more desperate than that. If Stephen Hawking would sign up on this forum and make a post about black holes that you disagreed with, you would say he’s stupid and his opinion shouldn’t be taken seriously because he’s only a level 1, right?
And if you can’t leave the zombies alone, I will answer that too: yes, zombies evolve as well because they live. Their evolution would include better and quicker means of transportation and natural weapons to kill their prey more quickly.
Both vampires and zombies need to feed to survive. It’s right there in the word, “survive”: they need to do something to keep on living. Evolution is a cornerstone of life. It is not a matter of stupidity or having a closed mind.
Your claim that every book and movie about vampires are dead is not exactly solid proof either. It is still a matter of language. Vampires (and zombies) live, even if this means that they live in death. And why would a writer say that they “just” drink blood because “that is what they do”? In all books and movies I’ve read and seen, it is always explained they need blood to survive. And even if that weren’t the case, it’s fictional.
The point of the thread is about what the evolutionary steps might be, not to debate the finer points of whether they are capable or not.
Lets just assume that they are and get back to the topic please.
Thank you.
The hollywood vampire has never evolved and most likely never will. They have an appeal that has passed through time.
Real ones or should say people who think they are will evolve just like all of mankind
Sorry earthghoul about the mis-understanding.
And stabb66 forgive me I went off track thru anger I am sorry.
And so I have a question what is evolution I know the defintion it means to evolve but I mean to say why is it believed we can evolve???
A example some have said that we have evolved from monkeys and that has been proven wrong so how can we be sure that evolution is what it is???
Im going to throw a spanner in the Hollywood vampire thing black hawk.
We see vampires with souls now we see daylight walking ones we see vamp n wolf cross breading ann rice has made the genre very acceptable to more people than before.
I feel that may be evolution?
I think as energy taking can be done at a distance … maybe as we get stronger DNA mixes blood particles may come with the drain leaving a big love bite lol
I think for a vampires evolutionary process it's next step would have to be, perhaps, lessening it's desire to feed.
How about this for evolution I say that maybe a vampires body has to evolve so they can accomdate there blood-feeding because a regular human body could not stand the mass feeding that they do.
Something that is dead does not feed, does not move, therefor the metafore used to call these creatures dead is off. They are refered to as dead as they have ceased to exist as human, but they are not truly dead, they are undead creatures and very capable of evolution and learning. Simply put, if its dead, it lays and rots, if it lives it moves and requires something to sustain its undead existance.
perhaps into a being that can fully function inthe daylight
according to R. chetwynd Hayes, a vampire can evolve by hybridisation. mating with werewolves, ghouls,, vamgoos, werevamps, weregoos, Maddies, Raddies, shaddies, mocks, shadmocks etc.
That would have been my view on evolution the ability to be able to intake more sunlight i guess, not that i have a lot of vampiric knowledge that is just my opinion.
i think they would evolve into beings that can fly thru space to get off this doomed planet =
what makes you think that they are going to go from not really be ing able to intake sun light to being able to fly through the earths atmosphere?
For a vampire to evolve in the future it might rid itself of present weaknesses, for instance, being repelled by anything holy. Holy water, holy ground, the Christian cross, etc.
Just because the vampire represents everything opposite of anything holy, should there be any reason for the vampire to fear it?
non that i would see honestly those of holy nature fear them they should dominate them not hide....... maybe that is another way they shall elove
here is a random fact... the guy who studied Evolution for years... Darwin.. yeah you know who i am talking about... he himself said that he was wrong, evolution does not exist.....
SEVENN EDIT: I challenge you to cite your source. I'm sure plenty of us would be interested to see that. In fact, I'll go first with some sources that speak to the myth of Darwin's supposed recant:
-James Moore, The Darwin Legend, Baker Books, Grand Rapids, Michigan, 1994, pp. 113-14.
-Watchman Examiner, Boston, 19 August 1915, p. 1071. Source: Ref. 1 , pp. 92-93 and 190. (This, an American Baptist journal is where the first story appeared.)
It has been historically shown time and again that Darwin did not "recant". It was the wishful thinking of certain religious figures of the day.
If organisms change to adapt and create a stronger entity, it would seem logical that the characteristics they would want to weed out would include sensitivity to sun, garlic, holy water etc.
The traits they would most likely want to enhance over time would center on their ability to catch prey- strength, cunning, multiple canine teeth etc.
It wouldn't need to feed anymore, possibly. Either that or it would become even stronger than normal.
Concerning the "living vampire" of today...Though this phrase is still quite contradictory in my point of view...Then apparently it has evolved. Since the new term of "psychic vampire" has hit the streets.
Nothing like leaving the blood for the allegorical energy within the blood for those of whom...Again contradictory...Being as vampires, cannot stand the site of blood.
*Chuckles* But I must digress...Since I may not know a bloody thing about any of that sort of nonesense.
it will take a while but vampires are gonna have to get invisibility mooo ha haaHA! the ones with invisible limbs will have to mate and kill off the ones without. if this process continues then in a millenia we will have inviisble vampires. of course mating will be difficult when you cant see your partner.
everything must evolve or it would no longer be here as of the next step i think it would be to hide better from the government not that they already don't but the government is becoming more controling and i think as of right now that would be the only thing needed
Now for something what if in the near future they made a biological advancement and down the unknown I mean to say what if they made like a cyborg vampire with enhancements like the "the Unisols" in universal soldier????
I must say most see the need to live in the dark a issue and drinking of blood ect.
Personally I don’t think so.
Evolution might be understanding what one is more.
But everything evolves
True everything evolves in some shape or form, I also believe that however mankind evolves so would the vampire after all they would want to stay the same as mankind as to not be dectected....isnt that the reason they are still in human form.
Yes, for a vampire to be able to survie it needs to be able to blend in with men so as men evolves so would the vampire, both fictional and nonfictional. As has been stated everything evolves it is a natural occurance.
Totally agree, if neither evolves with mankind then they will be able to be singled out and be set upon for who and what they are. From what I am lead to believe that isnt something a vampire wants so it has to evolve or at least find a means to look like they are evolving.
my theory to that is that they will be like humans still drink blood with all strangths and no weekness and they will be perfect because we would blend in better
you got a good point but if that was true how did we get here from the colonial times thats evalution
catseye - Evolution doesn't contradict the second law of thermodynamics.
Entropy - or breakdown - increases with time.
Evolution - something changes into a different (usually more complex form).
At first glance it looks like your right, but you would need to look at the concept over a great span of relative time. It's sort of a backwards way of thinking, but if you consider that at the moment before the Big Bang, the entire universe was in order. Then after the initial inflationary period, when the universe began to cool and the fundamental forces began pulling quarks together to form atoms, and atoms together to form molecules, etc. etc. This may seem like we are evolving into a more ordered state, but in actuality it still follows that the Universe is moving into a more disordered state. Current theorists suggest that the process of the Universe's expansion will lead to the Big Rip, in which everything will simply pull apart.
Man hasn't truly evolved. On a time-scale, humans are a very young species. Neandertals existed for, what... 200,000 years before facing extinction? Man has only been around for a fraction of that. Our giant leaps in technology are what have evolved, but not our biological composition.
I can't think of any example in nature that HAS devolved, but then I'm not a biologist.
In the movies Vampires have evolved greatly over the years. Their powers have changed considerably, they do things now that years ago they could not.
If movie vampires were like the vampires that are of the modern days I dont think evolution would be possible, never grow old , always stay the same. How could they evolve? This is just my opinion.
not everything evolves... and for the darwin fanatics... they found human remains far older than the first "monkeys" ....
To be honest the people who made that chart we have on the school walls was on something for sure with the missing link.
When you don’t have all the parts to the puzzle don’t shout out lol
Yes it is proven there are a lot of our types around and not linked to the ignorance science calls proof.
This however does not disprove evolution.
Every cell has DNA in it and as it divides and reproduces, errors happen and those errors could be good or they can be fatal.
I think they are impeccable as they are...:O) I see no need for the evolution to our perfection.
maybe the question isnt what would they evolve to but what have they evolved to.They have lived and stealthily fit in through out all myths behind them.So whats changed other then majority of us. Ill tell you what the greatest evolutionary step since a cave man. They got us to stop believing they are real.
evolution is an interesting topic i use to think that the cavemen might have evolved into aleins but i think for vampires the only evolution we will be seeing is the one hollywood produces,i don't think that immortality will revolve much like other things have such as wales, reptiles etc.
hmmmm if you were immortal - I don't think you'd evolve in the physical sense - but mentally there would probably be a TON of evolution - watching people generation after generation. Of course if you're the Anne Rice sort of vampire - each different generation of vampire would have evolved a bit before they became immortal - so there would be some evolution. To truly see if vampires evolve - I'll be waiting on the movie!
Evolution is always triggered by one or a combination of three factors -
1. Their prey, and how they evolve to defend themselves,
2. Their predators, and how they evolve in order to catch them out,
3. Their environment and the world around them.
All three of these factors seem to be determined by humans - vampires feed on humans, therefore humans seek to destroy vampires. Mankind is changing the world around us, and therefore any new evolution of vampires should be able to use this as a distinct advantage to themselves...
Also, don't you think that it would be possible for a single vampire to evolve many times, providing that they lasted that long?
Or is it simply new fledglings that have the ability to evolve?
I agree in nature the prey often evolves to evade its predator, in turn the predator evolves to overcome the prey again. Vampire will become more like man, able to blend in, more able to acquire what it needs to survive. I think the ability to withstand the sun has already taken place. We see vampire everyday that walks in the sun, some are sensitive to it and try to stay away form it as much as possible, but none the less can be in it. A predator must evolve as its prey evolves to survive or become extinct. I think also the energy vampire may have been an evolutionary change in their kind. Now able to take the energy without taking the blood, making the vampire a much more difficult hunter to find.
I imagine the Nanovampire, people that want to overcome cancer will inject nanos into their bodies.. sadly it will be found that the nanos need a source of energy.. a solution is found when extractions from donors glands produce the "fuel for the nanos thus keeping them producing, the purpose to "eat" and crap, the substance that sustains/preserves the body, the concsiousness and such of the person is slowly disperced through out the nanos..
TaurusChick -
I just have to ask why you think they evolve the same as mankind does?
because every thing evolves and it happens for a reason
real vampires and novelty vampires probably wouldnt change much in the constant state of evolution,in my oppinion it would only be there hunting strategies that change, not there actual bodies
Modern sang vampyres have evolved from the fictional vampire, they live among us and fill their need for blood by having those around them that provide. Since there is no need to kill those that give them blood no one even notices. No one would have ever known we exist if we had not announced it, but then many think we are only a fantasy. Maybe its better that way.
I would say that everything *living* evolves in some way. However, Vampires are dead as rocks and would not evolve.
I believe that they will evolve, just the same as everything "living"(as said above me). Everything evolves to make their "rase" stronger.
Vampires evolved and will evolve.. at first there were only vapmire who liked blood.. now there are vampires that feed from emotions and peoples energy .. I see this as an evolution...:)
I see some post that don’t belive in evolution, that’s nice for you…..
Kaddaver … nice comment, evolution is happening, you have addressed the reality side of vampirism behaviors, as I know there are a couple of energy vamp types already, what stage of evolution is that and where will it go?
Just remember there is a diference betwen evolving and adpting.
I see vampires as more to do with creation than evolution so id say no as in creation things are the way they are!!
vampires are a demonic side of humanity not the next step of apes evolution!!!
but in saying that if i was to look at it from a diferant side they might addapt not so much evolve!
DasWolf - But what do you think would be the next evolution for a vampire?
Theshining -
Kind of like with animals [e.g. the Tigon or Liger] I don't think that beyond the offspring, nothing would happen due to the child being sterile.
Uhh, vampires can't procreate... they can REPRODUCE, but they can't procreate.
Also the essential difference between adapting and evolution is that with evolution the animal CHANGES in order to deal with the changes around it over time. An adaption is usually prompted by a sudden change in environment.
Aren't reproducing and procreating technically the same thing?
yes they are the same thing and yes it should be able to happen with evolution as well as new ways and methods of hunting
Taking the arguments away from Sangs for a moment. I think Energy Vamps will evolve as they learn to manipulate the energy not only within themselves, within others and the world around them. I can't help but think that learning how to use and manage energy will open our minds up to areas we never dreamed possible 50 years ago, such as self healing.
I think vampires would evolve the same as a human, or come across as they do.
I agree with KaddaveR.
Vampires, of the past, were "created" to give reason and explanation as to why and how things occured.
For instance, lack of medical knowledge:
1) Fingernails, hair and such growing, blood forming at the mouth after death.
2) An individual given a "premature burial" and came back to life.
3) Genetic conditions......
The more advanced Civilization became, the more answers disproved that vampires exisited--at least in the logical sense--of them being immortal, walking undead.
The majority of people today are more curious about vampires than afraid. Mythical vampires have evolved to what are today's Human Living Vampires,
Psychic Vampires, Sanguinarians and those who retreat into the land of Role Play.
What I meant by the whole procreate/reproduce thing was that they cant mate with other vampires..
I think this would screw up the balance as you could, potentially, but two completely different races of vampires...
Sorry for sounding like a dick in my last post ^_^
I think the Vampires of today are more advanced in many ways. Technology for example I think in order to survive they would have to have a more advanced way of thinking. Kill or Be Killed.
my gess would be that they all travel in one place and meet to come up with a way or two to overcome there weeknesses and who knows take over the world hahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i think they would evolve at the same rate as humans.if they was real that is. they would want to remain silent and not out to the world.
we each will evolve in 2 wat eva we need 2 become some of us will get stronger some smarter every 1 will evolve in the end 2 wat they need 2 become
i do believe there are very much differences in vampirism people as we evolve
Actually, what I really mean is, 'what do you think the differences are'?
I can only speak from energy takers.
We have priest, warrior and council.
All energy users yet with out each other in trouble, well I am as a priest.
