I just was wondering what my fellow VR friends think of the idea of spirits growing up.? It was said a baby girl had died in this house I live in now, when my sister lived here many years ago she said she believed a spirit of a little girl came to her at nite asking "why my sister had stolen her dolls?" Now that I live here I believe I seen a young woman roaming around making things all tidy and neat ... so down to the big question can a spirit grow up?
Well when the soul did not come into the contect with the matter, it was eternal and endless. btu when come in contect with the matters, the conscious (which grows with the matter) think the matters are soul's own. when it take birth, it live it to fullest though short life, but when accidently or natural death, it dies in its short life say in childhood, some time the resolve make that soul attached to the matter so strongly that it treat still its living living life and only form of the body changed and body vanished and soul remained, but, sludged in the resolve and weak conscious. such soul remain longlife even after the death. they some time too grow their existence as natural living being. this means they are in contect with living peepal too very closely.
Well I would have to say as per the image of spirit could be changed to what ever they want it to appear to be. But we are talking about a soul no longer attached to a body that dies in time, so I don't know.
soul lives in many covers when in living body. most gross is feed cover, this comprise of bio cells which is alive due to the feeding of food and fluids or liquid,
little subtle the cover of energies, and under that more little subtle is mind force, and before that intellact, and at last conscious which is awaken to resolve only.
the conscious and resolve goes with the soul after the death and everything lost. some time resolve of love towards livilihood of the lived life keep soul wandering or remaining in hte materialistic world body less. and dont live the materialstic world.
in most cases resolve and conscious makes souls quit the materialstic world and take birth again according to the resolve (nature) it takes.
I think that once the spirit dies it will remain the same forever.
I beleive that the spirit is unchanging. Only the living have the capacity for growth. Take claudia in Interview with a vampire. She desperately wanted to grow up, but her body did not change. Just my opinion though.
i have to say that when you think about it that way it seems imposable but she was a vampire and not a spirit ...i would like to think a childs spirit if trapped on this side could grow and learn from what it sees around it
Could it be possible that there are more than 1 spirit in your house? Your sister was able to see the little girl only because that's what the spirit wanted? You are seeing an older mature spirit because it decided to manifest itself to you? I have never heard anything about growing spirits. I always thought they stayed as they were once they died.
It will not grow up.. Once it dies that is it.. No growing up..
Souls don't grow up like we do. I believe that once the soul leaves the body and crosses over it can come back and assume another life.
i always assumed that it was at the time of death that is as they stayed that age of departure but it seems odd ... this house could very well hold more then one spirit as i know of at least 3 people who died in it personaly and it is over 200 years old
Hmmmmmmmm good question!
But as far as i am aware spirits stay the same age as they were when they passed away but knows anything is possible.
i like the idea that it is not out side the realm of possabilitys that is great ...and it very well may be a whole family and not just one entity older spirits hang with older people and children spirits hang with children who are in the house ... all concepts are not closed doors there is room to grow :P~ BTW sence i made these last couple post and threads about the house it really seems that the activity is stronger.
Always remember that may the souls looks haunting, but they are not harming at all. so when you come to face to face, dont afraid at all, treat them well. if we behave good, those souls help us in goodness.
oh wow LivNdedGirl i was not aware that your house seemed to have a stronger sense of "powers" going on since posting the 2 new threads whoa what a trip!
I don't think the tidy young woman is the little girl. From my experiences, it seems that different spirits show themselves (or become active) around different people. For example, in the house I live in now my cousin (who is 14) sees two boys who are right around her age. I have never had any interaction with them, though I don't doubt they're there. I don't know, of course I could be wrong, but that's just my thought.
It's possible that there could just be more than one spirit which choose to show themselves to different people at different times; but there's a smidgen of a chance that it could indeed be the spirit growing up - I remember hearing someplace a while ago that a spirit will appear how it thinks it should be, how it perceived itself when alive. Perhaps it doesn't fully know that it's dead, or there might be a completely different explanation which nobody's come up with yet :-D
I think that it can grow up.
Since spirits can probably appear in any form they wish, I think that they can grow up.
Maybe since the girl died at a very young age, she herself wanted to grow up and that she did.
1) Perhaps the ghost of the little girl and the young woman are two seperate entities;
2) It is possible that spirits are able to change, at will, the way they appear to us.
I do think that if a child/infant has died, they are the same age as they were when they left this world. They may gain some knowledge of the afterlife and/or mature in a spiritual sense, but I do not believe that "physically" they grow up.
Someone so greatly put it the purpose of life is growth. if you dead then you can grow.. but still love how it was put..
Yea, I don't believe spirits grow up over there, not like that anyway. They are sorta stuck that way anyway, at the age they passed, when they are on Earth I believe. They are wanting to stay around or playing out the same events over and over.
I have read and heard that when we pass, we return to our best, which is around 30, they say. If you didn't make it to 30, then shows what you would have been. That's what I understood it to be.
sperits can shap shift and become what ever the want to they are free to rome
Once a person dies and their spirt is around does'nt it stop growing and stay at the rate it has been killed?
The realm of possibilities are endless seeing as how we do not have the answers to everything.
However, my personal belief is that if a person dies their soul is still at that age and does not grow in the physical sense but feel that they could grow in a spiritual sense.
You are seeing the representation of the child who died the spirit if she doesn't know they are dead. I believe they will age themselves. I think we take on the forms we believe ourselves to be.
It seems to me that,if ghosts look like the person they were at the time of death, then they would remain so ,as the body could not age as it does when living. And why dont the ghosts of old peeps get older too.
No,it doesnt make sense that a ghost would grow up after death..at least not in that sense.
I think the spirit would remain in its state of which death did occur, yet the spirit would in fact grow with insight and knowledge, such would be the growing state. not the phiscal form.
I do see your point Cadrewolf, but if that were so,wouldnt that kindof blow any reincarnation idea out the window?
yes it would, but that stating on another theory, a lost soul or spirit, even tho trapped in essence as when they died, yet would still see the world change and would gain knowledge, reincarnation the spirit would infact be reborn inot another soul and most likely forget the life they had once lived except dreams.
Oceanne..I do not believe that this theory would blow reincarnation out the window at all. Who is to say that the soul is immediately reborn? What if there is a time period in between before they are reborn?
What role would life play then ?If we grow in death and inertia, then what is the point of being born at all?
The thing with reborn souls we do not remember the life that we had previously normally and as far as I know..no one has ever recalled their life as a spirit.
It just seems to me that if we grew in spirituality when we are dead, then there would not be the emphasis on spiritual growth in life as much as there is.Im under the impression that we we die,we go into a type of spritual suspension(soul spiral) then make our way back to "class" in rebirth. The way we treat others and are ... the things we learn in life are what takes us to the next step.
I am not disagreeing with you at all Oceanne...I was just looking at the possibilities is all. If we grow spiritually in body form then why not be able to grow during our spirit phase as well before being reborn?
Oh I know..its all good:D
Well,Im not sure, but I thought the purpose of life is to grow spiritually.
I believe dear that is all based on what your beliefs are..there are no wrong or rights to what you believe in as that is personal to each and everyone.
Yes,and in a conversation such as this, there are no rights or wrong. But the question I propose is,what is the need for growth when we are dead?If we grow then, like we do in life, then what is the purpose of life and its lessons?
That could be one explanation, but it could also be that the child wasn't what it wanted to be and when it comes in contact with a child it is a child and when it comes in contact with an adult it shows itself as an adult
I kindof like where youre going with that thought.Changes form to suit the need of the one who sees it?
I don't really think spirits could actually grow up, but I guess that they could change in some way.
I always thought when some dies that their spirit remains at the same age that they die. Which is why we see spirits from the pass as they would of looked like back then.
I don't believe that a person's spirit can grow up. That person physical presence is gone. There are no more life experiences, no reason for growth. I believe that a child's spirit would remain that of a child.
theres no limit to the imagination so why not? it can also change forms from one creature to another depending on the "observers" moods and whims.
I think that a spirit would tend to exist forever as it did at the moment of death. However, in the case if someone who was shot, their spirit does not necessarily display the fatal wound on its 'body'. Therefore, I suppose it may be possible for a spirit to 'grow up'.
I don't totally understand that explanation for why a spirit would have the capability to grow up.
If the spirit is simply the embodiment of the inner being...it wouldn't be affected by injury to the outer being, would it?
I don't know. I think of the body as the machine that houses the spirit. When the machine breaks down..the spirit leaves.
OP -
What you're describing is exactly like 'Goblin' in Anne Rice's 'Blackwood Farm' book.
Quinn's twin brother died at birth, but grew up while Quinn did.
I believe this is able to happen but only in cases like the one about.
I think it is a different entity than the child is it possible spirits are drawn to you? It is not unusual to have more than one spirit in a home have you researched the property?
I do not believe that the spirit will grow up.. There may be another.. Have you checked the history of the property? Not just the house?
I have personally run into four spirits and in each case they appear to have ceased developmentally aging at the moment of death.
i beleave spirits can and will grow every thing in life has to grow in some shap or form.
I don't think that spirits grow up...What I think is that you and your sister have experienced two different entities at that same place.
A friend of mine went into her daughter's room to see her dancing around. She asked coaxingly of her daughter, "What are you doin', sweetheart?"
Her daughter replied, "Mommy, who's friend?" as she pointed to nothing on the Ceiling.
True story.
I don't believe the spirit of a person who has passed can grow up as their physical body has died, but I believe that spirits can will themselves to change their appearance.
I don't believe the spirit of a person who has passed can grow older in appearance....
I don't believe so, from what I have learnt about spirits they are images trapped in time. So how could the spirit grow up from being a little girl if she never experienced that in life. She never knew what it was like to be a woman. If that makes any sense. Perhaps the spirit you saw was just another one that is attached the the home.
i do not believe a spirit if died as a young child would grow up in the place they died at..but i do believe if they moved on for a time then it could be possible for them to grow in another realm of existence.
