Anyone who forms a link under false pretenses has no honor and should be looked on as so.
Making people think you love them and want to be with them just so you can feed is FLAT OUT WRONG!
These People should be exiled! and shown no respect, for they show no respect to those they hurt.
The following is a definition of acts which we don't consider to be a true sexual Vampyre and as such, are not found to be respected by our code of conduct/honor.
"This type of Sexual Vampyre is out for what he or she can get with little regard for their Prey, and Prey is the proper terminology here. The Vampyre will often use psychic strength to woo their prey, to make the person, usually human, become attracted to them, like them, and want them. They also have been known to cajole, threaten, beguile, and use flattery as a tool -- as the Social Vampyre will do.
The Sexual Vampyre feeds off of the sexual energy, the sexual need, the dependence of their prey once a secure relationship is established.
Once a relationship is established they do everything they can to cement the bond. They pick a person who is vulnerable. Someone who just came from an abusive relationship, someone who has been alone for a long time. Someone not described usually as beautiful or attractive, someone perhaps very over weight or who has no close ties. Very young or inexperienced people, etc. because these individuals are easier to conquer. Then the Vampyre becomes the perfect mate, everything the person could ever have dreamed of; kind, generous, caring, loving, involved etc. However, this is all a ploy, as the Vampyre uses his or her psychic power to bond and hold fast his prey, until the person is convinced they cannot live with out this special person. All the while and even more after, this Vampyre is feeding on the sexual emotions, energies and desires of the prey.
In reality this Vampyre cares nothing for the person. It is a hunt, prey and the Vampyre is enjoying the hunt, the capture, the conquest and the prize of their labors -- and the emotions. The same is true with some Psi-Vamps, but in that case the actual physical energy from the sexual experience is fed upon more then the act or the emotions.
When the Vampyre is satisfied he/she now has this person fully controlled, he/she begins to be not so nice, not so loving, hinting or boldly stating that if this person does not do exactly what the Vampyre wishes, he/she will leave. Another scenario is acting like some little thing done by the person is a great crime and that the person is lucky they bother to stay at all. By now the poor victim is so hooked by their love and need for the Vampyre, and they are truly helpless under this threat of the loss of the relationship -- loss of the Vampyre in their life. So they agree to anything, such as sex acts they do not like, the fact that they now may be expected to support this person and pay their bills or buy them expensive things.
The human prey has no chance of having their hurt be so strong that they leave because no matter how strong their hurt or pain is, the conscious and psychic controls used by the Vampyre is something they can neither realize is happening nor can they prevent it from happening. There is also no hope in the mind clearing enough to see the truth that they are not being loved, just used. Because in the case of the Vampyre, the minds are controlled as well.
The Sexual Vampyre has the preys ' blood, mind and body at his or her command and can pretty much do as they like with the prey. If the pain, fear and humility becomes too strong and the prey begins to want to end the relationship, the Vampyre just goes back to the original controls, until the love bond in the prey, or the need, is strengthened to the extent that the person can not leave.
Yes, these are negatives and thank the stars there are not many around like this. But they are out there and it is the hunt, the conquest and the sexual dependency of others that they feed from, and must have, to survive."

While I agree with one point you made, namely...
"Making people think you love them and want to be with them just so you can feed is FLAT OUT WRONG!"
...from a psychological perspective, specifically the act of making someone think you care about them only to feed your psychological insecurities by almost making them care for you in return, I don't really know how much of a discussion can be made here. Either someone agrees with your post, or they don't.
I'm just saying that some might see this as something more suited for an article or journal. Personally, I don't see any evidence pointing towards an act of 'psychic vampirism' in the first place.
A clear case of Codependency, a relationship under false pretense. The only variation is inserting the word Vampire (insert alternative spelling) .
Are you hinting that this is only in the Vamp community?
It has the air of telling someone off, are you interacting with a person that has been through a Codependent relationship?
Do you still engage in activity with that person? Isn't using others a part of what vampires do?
This reads like a rant.
Or even Dependent Personality Disorder.
* Some people enjoy making decisions. Others prefer to have someone they trust guide them. Which do you prefer?
* Do you seek advice for everyday decisions?
* Do you find yourself in situations where other people have made decisions about important areas in your life, e.g. what job to take?
* Is it hard for you to express a different opinion with someone you are close to? What do you think might happen if you did?
* Do you often pretend to agree with others even if you do not? Why?
* Do you often need help to get started on a project?
* Do you ever volunteer to do unpleasant things for others so they will take care of you when you need it?
* Are you uncomfortable when you are alone? Are you afraid you will not be able to take care of yourself?
* Have you found that you are desperate to get into another relationship right away when a close relationship ends? Even if the new relationship might not be the best person for you?
* Do you worry about important people in your life leaving you?
i can be pretty preditory, but i state that up front. i agree that to make someone thing you love them under false pretense shows a complete lack of honor.

Those that have quote swans, unquote, could easily be considered attracted under pretense, especially when the person alludes that the relationship is exclusive.. relationship protocal has been streamlined, so much so that presumtious individuals are encouraged to "fancy, and fade", woman are just as capable as men are of such practices.
Learning the signs is one way to prevent falling for such people, along with
Party Introduction, meaning get to know them around your friends, mingling with your friends/ family.. Such people thrive by anonomity.
They are likely to slander you to their ((influenced) "minion"as well.
I have seen such people claim the victim was stalking him, after he "kicked her to the curb."
I agree with dabbler, in the sense that this is most definitely not exclusive to the vampire (vampyre? whichever you prefer, I mean no offense) way of life.
It all stems down to someone feeling the need to quench some need of theirs, whether it be feeding on 'prey' as you alluded, or simply feeling like they're bigger and badder than someone else, just by slapping them around, or controlling who they spend time with and where they go and so on.
Not that I condone any activities, on any level...but it happens in all forms of life, and is indeed probably just a fact of life...
People who have the desires to do things, yet lack the mind-power to do them correctly, tend to become corrupt...hence, they begin hurting others, just to absorb happiness for themselves, to feel more confident...
This is just my opinion? I apologize if I offend anyone...

Please present us with a question in which you would like to discuss. At the present we have your opinion and the opinions of the few who have posted but we need more to make this a true discussion.
Thanks.

ok...what do you think typically drives these people to have these...falsified connections, for lack of a better term, rather than a good honest relationship?
whether it be in a vampire society, or elsewhere.
Because the opportunity presents itself, as well as the possibility "if it works, what would it feel like?" or "I wonder what would happen if" and even "if this is a possibility what does it feel like?"
The weak will always be food for the beast. We cannot change nature, it has been the same since time began.
What you mean is deception, and yes of course it's wrong.
Sadly most of us have to deal with all kinds of dishonorable people in our lives.
If we are lucky, we learn and grow from these encounters.
In an actual community, vampire or otherwise which is usually close knit, word tends to get out about such people and the best thing to do is not let into your life again.
for me the thing what most people consider dishonrable about them feed not asking permission and using there feelings to gain what they want is what a vampire is truly. they feed they have the need to feed
we dont ask the cow hey im hungery can i eat you. now we just kill them and eat. everything is and every one is food there is no asking about it.
the whole make them feel loved is bs. i dont make my food feel loved that is not realy the point . tomake them feel loved is wrong. it mess with evey ones emotions and that has more screw ups then anything
"we don't consider to be a true sexual Vampyre" You said "we", Are you a Vampire? I agree with most of the statement, but, Vampires doesn't have sexual desires for the human race. Vampires feed from blood, and let me tell you, there is no sex involved. Do not get confused with the hollywood interpretation of Vampire. Vampires take what is necessary to survive. (my two cents)
oh no marcus, let me respectfully disagree. many of us feed from sex, or other energy generated from strong emotion. i have been known to feed from sexual energy while feeding on blood....very heady combo.
vampire speedball! lol

You are gravely mistaken and are, in fact, guilty of the very confusion you warn against: that of defining vampires as based on their pop-culture depictions by Hollywood and in fiction.
The historical accounts depict the vampire not at all as an asexual blood-drinker, but in fact... quite the opposite:
1. The actual Vampire was not a blood drinker at all:
"There are no bloodsuckers in Romanian tradition."
Romanian Professor, Dr. Sabina Ispas
(2000 World Dracula Congress)
"The weird thing is, in actual panics, where people thought the 'vampire' was right there and active, there are almost no stories about blooddrinking. 'Vampires' were the hungry dead."
http://www.sanguinarius.org
Someone must have rubbed you the wrong way eh, ~Truevampire~?
Then again, is that not what the vampire is? How can one take offense to another who claims to be vampire, then inturn hurts the ones closest to then by taking them for a ride?
Vampire, helloooo...This is the way it is, and has always been. It is up to the individual to bring out any type of dishonour onto themselves. It is not the vampire, but the individual. The blame game does not need to be in the mix, as it is only human to feel violated.
To exile a vampire just for the sake of redemption, or out of spite for things gone wrong is not a justifiable means. They are vampire for a reason. Let not the emotional imbalances of the human world get in the way of the vampire.
The vampire of whom claims to be, must live with alll outcomes, all scenerios...This is the way it MUST be. If you cannot handle the heat...Well, you know the rest.
Though it is the individual that if they claim to be vampire, to take it upon themselves to be just in all things they do...But it is still up to that individual. Not all vampires are the romanticized version, or as honourable as the next individual.
Take what ever caused this thread and turn it into a lifes lesson. Everything is to be learned from the experiance so the same thing does not happen the same way twice. Again, it is up to the individual.
could it possibly be that they will make all of this people because they want to be kind of worshiped. Or perhaps they are trying to build theirself an army.
I find the word Cult fits much better, a group of people told they are each special, being lead to via for the moments attention of the figure head.
I would also point out that some cults, go after other cults, not so much for their practices, but because they are better at pulling suckers.. err members in then they thought they where (doing honorably).
"ok...what do you think typically drives these people to have these...falsified connections, for lack of a better term, rather than a good honest relationship?
whether it be in a vampire society, or elsewhere."
Self centeredness and selfishness is what drives it in part.Unwillingness.(to change) and easy prey, is what keeps it going. One word? EGO
So when one person exits a disaster like this, and then swears away from the whole "pretend-I- am-valuable-to-a-"real vampire", then along comes another person who identifies as a vampire promising to be honerable in their practice/association.. To me actually ranting outloud, about such things
is Using the same tactic,
Example: I use Oceanne
" Awww Oceanne someone misrepresented themselves too you, saying they wanted to develop a relationship with you?"
" All they did was drain you of time, and resources?"
"Well I will not stand for this.. This Dishonerable representation of Vampiric
Practice!"
" Now see how I stood up for you, your safe from such things with me."
So does that mean one that udentifies themselves as a vampire should never use the phrase relationship?? Rather an association, an agreed transation. Because it is sounding like a few people here think their Poo is
comparable to incense.
Soulshroude....First, hello my brother, its been a while...
Secondly I couldnt have said it better myself.
Yes it sucks when one is wronged and it may even hurt at times, but the nature if a vampire is to do just what has seemed to transpire. Take what they need when they need it.
Do I agree with the manner in which it was done? Absolutely not, but it doesnt change the fact that some are just leeches....No honor in what they are, no respect for those they take from.
While I will agree with the point of making some think you love them love just so you can feed is VERY wrong, I dont know that I can agree with using sex or sexual energy to get a feed should be considered wrong. For many Sangs it is a very useful tool to be used in the form of LUST. In fact many of my friends and house members -physical house, not VR house- use Lust as a tool quite often.
Toying with a persons emotions is not fair, even though many of us do it all the time, though often for different reasons than to feed. In fact I think its safe to say that EVERYONE, vampires, vampyers and humans alike use a variation on this form of manipulation on a regular basis, some, however abuse this and give a bad name to many. What you are describing is less a sexual vampire and more or a Emotional Abuser. I think to call them a vampire brings shame on all of us here.
I must agree with TrueVampyre here- to decieve just for the sake of feeding is dishonorable- no matter what the deception is. To enthrall and feed is one thing but to put on an emotional facade is something else entirely.
The situation reversed is just as lousy, Starting out by presenting a "contract" for donor vampire exchanges, and then subtly pressing a relationship. Just another pretense.. Terrible social skills are in such associations, some would say sociopathic behavuior. I wonder how many that would have others believe they are vampires, are nothing more then people who don't actually believe so, but when the donors are out of ear shot, they laugh at how absorbed the punters are for being talen, Oh and that too is reversible, "donors" laughing at people who seriously think they are vampirers, just waiting for a clear shot at embarrasing the so called vampire.
My Lord, i agree, he feeding ways are dishonorable, when most members of the community strive for honor this man spites in the face of it, to say that he is just feeding as a vampyre is beyond the point, the way he goes by feeding is rude, and horrible.
As opposed to the more gentele vampire, I smell self rightous all through this thread. It is all fiction, it is all under the pretense of being real vampire practice, this thread is nothing but a self indulgent "how civil are we who know the "real ways of vampirism".
What is it you are saying? It is only my view? Do you even know what a question is? People use them to inquire, some only ask for self serving reasons. This thread is consistent with all your threads. Chest Beating indignation, are you so delusional that you actually are some rightoues exception to such elementary social norms. "See me Roar"? Your veiled
psshaw is consistent as well.
The thread is loaded. It has been stated as such consistsnly throughout, not just by me. What one sees in oneself is what is most annoying." Me thinks thou protest too much.."
~Dabbler~ though I can see where you are coming from on a very very good and valid point, it does not mean the thread was of personal value.
~Noctem~ may have been posting a thread to see how many individuals shared the same views without forming a consensus or poll. Mayhaps he was looking to see if there were actually individuals who cherished the thought of what his thread was intended to see?
There maybe some hidden agenda within this thread, but I do think you may have taken that hidden agenda out of context.
Questions arent the only thing that starts discussions. Someone can make a general statement that can produce feedback. As this thread has done.
I've followed different forums quietly, reading the responses and what I have found is that when someone proclaims him/herself a living Vampyre then the tone of response changes. A sort of condecending reply takes form.
Also, with all the people on VR the personalities are vast. Some change themselves for the sake of fitting into the theme of the site, and some keep true to who they are.
Saying all that to say this, some people are strong in nature and it comes out in their words. Do we ridicule them for this?
If its something that you dont want to see, dont respond to the persons forums. I think that some here like controversy more than they like to admit.
There is a difference between educational debate and all out finger pointing.
While ~Travelers~ post is accurately justified...I still stand with my original post.
The vampire does not have to be honourable, or carry the virtues, or morals. The vampire is a creature that "feeds". By any means nessessary. This does not make the vampire a dishonourable individual, since honour is in the eye of the beholder at times.
One mans fun is anothers hell. Mayhaps the vampire in this case, the intentions anywho...Were justified in his own mind. Do we really know both sides of the story?
Just a heads up Meeper I never been to that site... and umm they are my words but I am sure that will not be believed
I do understand your view point Soulshroude and to a degree I do agree with you. The nature of a vampyre is just that, to take what they need. At times the personal opinions come into play when responding to something like this.
Like you said its different for everyone.
But then here is the question, is it ok for vampyres but wrong for everyone else?
We are raised in a time where its "get what you can get while you can get it", vampyre and non-vamp alike. So in this case who are we to say that ANYONE is wrong for getting what they want however they can get it.
Everyone manipulates, be it for a few bucks here and there or a job promotion or whatever else you can think of.
I have conflicting views on this because I follow the code of "Do good unto all" but being a vampyre may not always allow for such a path. What do you say Soulshroude? (you of all here know what I mean)
I believe that donors/prey should be treated with respect. They are giving something of themselves for the vampyre's benefit and should be held in high regards. Any vampyre who uses a bond/connection with someone in order to only feed when they really do not care for the person is irresponsible and unhonorable. Unless the donor/prey is aware of the situation and is willing to still give of ones self freely to the vampyre's need.
~Traveler~ asks: "But then here is the question, is it ok for vampyres but wrong for everyone else?"
~Soulshroude's~ response: The thing is, and let me make this extremely clear...Throughout history, the world has made the vampire into a residually evil image. The intentions of the vampire are justified based on the clause of evil that society has mark on it.
Of course it is wrong for any detrimental actions that "hurt" another human being, but this is based on a moral code. The ethics of the vampire surpasses this "moral code." The vampire has always been a predator in all regards.
But, those posing and claim the standing of "vampire" should be judged according to their actions. It is not the vampire that is the cause of the nonesense, it is the human counterpart that may face the consequences. As it is the individuals own fault have put themselves into such position.
~Traveler~ states: "I have conflicting views on this because I follow the code of "Do good unto all" but being a vampyre may not always allow for such a path. What do you say Soulshroude? (you of all here know what I mean)"
~Soulshroude's~ response: I think the individual takes the identity of the vampire and tries to justify if a bit. Too many throughout our world wish to re-create the image of the vampire into some kind of honourable individual with an age old ediquette. To bring the fantasy of the romantic movies into play. Thus bringing the relationship into a somewhat human view for the benefit of morals.
In my opinion, it is not the "vampire" that is the cause of the mischief, but the individual themselves that give the vampire a bad rep. Taking things too far is a human endeavor. It is on the individual themselves and should not be blamed on a "creature of the night."
Those of whom claim to be "vamp(y)re, whether knowingly or unknowingly, are faced with consequences for their actions since they are the ones who wish to create the identity and personify themselves into that "dark essense."
Life is not a game. It should not be treated as such. the terms "black swan, donor, vampyre, etc." are and have been for quite some time now, taken out of context and too literally. No offense to those respected practitioners out there, but at times, I do think it seems as though the death of: Vampires The Masquerade, instigated an entirely new philosophy for those of whom wished to be, thought they were, wanted it so badly, or just enjoyed the game sooo much, that they wanted it to continue in a new way. Thus the "vamp(y)re" was born.
Now, if the term "vamp(y)re" was here long before the "VTM" even came into existance, then my point is a bit null and void. But those taking the "living vampyre" way to seriously and not using that gift of "common sense" despite those around them, may be dealt with accordingly.
Sometimes society needs to come to a realization that the whole of the "vamp(y)re" society does things a bit differantly. Do the "mundane" rules need to apply to those who live in such society? Only if this new "game" is taken entirely too far. My apologies for using the term "game", but this is the best way in my perspective to identify with the term "vamp(y)re".
Any type of subculture needs to realize that the "mundane" rules still apply in LIFE. No one is exempt from any moral code. Individual beliefs may always differ. This is FREEWILL after all. Just don't take the "vampire" out of context. You are giving us all a bad name.
