If mortals see ghosts then is our ancestors spirit trying to contact them?

Not always. They can be spirits connected to the place the mortal is around or even an object, some even argue that its not really even spirits just empty strong feelings leaving an impression in that place or on that object.

I think we're likely to run into more spirits than just those who are related to us in some way/

There is a spirit that lives in my house... The road that I live on used to be a huge plantation... The ghost is an african slave... He touched me once when I was a baby, about 2 years old... There were finger marks on my stomach... I think he watched over the children of the plantation house... He never hurt me and has never since...

Well, I've had my fair dealing with spirits. I was invovled with a guy who's family went out to graveyards to investigate paranormal activities. I've seen some really creepy things that have no explaination to them. I've always believed in spirits and ghosts. I personally find it hard not to. I think that the majority of paranormal activity is the emotional impression I.E. a violent end, but there could also be some spirits who indeed have unfinished business and cannot pass on. Spirits could even be those souls that couldn't find the gateway to cross over in time so they're trapped in a limbo state.

It depends on the spirit and if it is truely a spirit or not.

Everytime I had a spirit encounter it never was an ancensor.Also it can be not a spirit.But I believe that ancensors can make a contact or mortals too can make a contact with them.I think my ancensors made contact with me trough dreams hehe.

Spirits, Ghosts, Apparitions, can we say that these are entities that have strayed from the eternal resting grounds or can they be explained in other ways? I am a firm believer of ghost but some do say that this phenomenon can be explained as residual energy left behind from days past, like a snap shot in time left to be seen by others. Or is it electromagnetic energy playing with our brains wave length?

Restless spirits can appear and reappear when they choose some are just visiting this plain of existence and others are grounded to a certain spot because of deeds they did or deeds done to them.

They do not know that they have passed on and so still roam the world today. This may have not answered the question but it may give rise to more questions that might be answered or asked.

it depends most sprits are lost souls there because they unfinished buisness or refuse to leave. Then theres others who could be from your family. But most ghosts are usually there because something had happend there or maybe they died there.

lady4rock, how do you know they are lost? Not all are lost...I'm not lost when I move around in my phantom form, but then again, you will believe what you will and I'll believe what I will. To each their own.

Thats something to sit back and think about when you have the time. Almost like pondering our exhistance or anything like that.

maybe... depending on what the spirt in question did durning thier life time. if they where say murdered then they might want to tell people how or who murdered them. but it could be that the spirit is just attached to something and doesnt want to let go or they dont know they are dead yet .

sometimes but not all the time some spirits are good looking for help some are bad looking to hurt or scare someone u really need to learn about what u are dealing with i am not really a vamp but i am into wicca (witchcraft) very strongly and i do see them and can talk with them like i said u need to know what ur dealing with

possibly but there tons of other reasons y a person might see ghost truefully alot of ppl who c them have no idea y unless they get professional help...some ghost haunt or visit us cuz something tragic happened b4 they died like they were murdered

I have never seen a spirit ghost, but I believe in the supernatural. I'm sure that people encounter them at random, rather than meeting with a deceased relative.

If the ghost is actually from an alternate dimension, then yes. That very well may be possible.

Now alternate dimensions is something that really interests me.

If anyone has read my journal, (I only think about five people do) there have been some eratic posts lately about me trying to explain perception.

Im still tyring to draw what I mean, and put it up for reference, but I have been considering spherical plains in which we are perhaps the middle.

If for now, we imagine our selves as the middle plain. The plain 'inside' our own, may be something which we cannot totaly percieve because like crtain sounds, it is too low for us to hear, however, we can on a very basic level. For instance, when we get a chill up the spine, as anyone ever stoppped to consider the image of something crawling, or stroking up our backs that we cannot percieve?

Also, the plain outside our own could be much like our own, and we could be 'their' spirits. Each of us percieve eachother occaisionally on a small level, and this could be a bizarre and tenous link of describing our own paranormal experiences :-)

Anyway, I will tell you when I have completed the entry if anyone is interested.

i think some maybe relatives i felt my aunts spirit round me before i believe she looks over all of us (relatives i mean) but im also sure there are spirits that arent we have a ghost in this house and he hurrases me i think for entertainment but the other night i think he was looking over my new born isis and if i think bout it he did start showing up alot since i started being preg with her but i dont think its any of my relatives or anything might be montys but hes around now

i think that spirits are lost souls, and some are looking for somthing, so not always are you going to run into an ancestor, unless thay look for you, some other ghosts contact people for a reason, maybe thay want to tell you somthing thay know that will help you, or maybe thay just want to talk.. i knew somone once who talked to a ghost, just a normal lady, who told her of wise things, once she told her not to go to tha snow tha next day as she had planned, tha mortal lady did not listen and she came back with a broken leg...

i belive that spirits are sent to watch over us we may call them angels, ghost or such but i belive they are life forces sent to look after us

Putting together what DarkMoontears, vampkitty and DarkAdmin said, it would be my answer to that question. Spirits that contact us are not only our ancesters. There can be a lot of reasons for them to appear. And yes, if they're angry at something, or have unsolved issues from holding a grudge to a violent death, they can show them selves in a very scary or threatening manner. Can be dangerous if they cause what Spiritism calls obssession. Be wear of those who claim to be famous/important people. They are most likely messing with your mind.

the spirits that we see are not family members or any thing like that.the spirits that we see are in fact fallen angels trying to mislead us.They do in fact some times help us.This is only to get you to let your guard down,in fact sooner or later you will pay the price.I say to you don't trust these spirits even if they appear to be fallen family members.There intentions are always evil.This is just my opinion

Thats not always necessarily true LordActon... maybe some things are tricks, but many of the positve things have happened are from such conversing with 'others'

yes Echo your right good thing do happen.I would also point out thet the most offten lead to deserter.These are unclean spirits.They will mislead you.I know good things have happen but there is always a price to be paid.

I suppose you could say that about karma or anything, and it cant be proved that all things have a negative conclusion, as life has both forces, adn therefore anything could be linked i.e. a positive to a negative, whether its valid or not.

Life would be a lot safer if we where all determinists... well, I suppose that depends on what our determinism is.

I suppose you have to trust your own autonomy to know who and what to trust.
