Hey all my question is this:
I started speaking fluently some kind of foreign language in my sleep a few months back. I bought a voice operated recorder so I could record it and get it translated but it never recorded it...since then...
(and my ex husband said it sounded denomic???)
I moved and yesterday Frank told me I was speaking fluent foreign language in my sleep. I ask what kind of language as I only speak English, and he said he couldn't even tell just that I was carrying on a full blown coversation with someone and it wasn't him.
I asked if it sounded denomic and he said no, just a conversation, and he really didn't wake up all the way to check it out any further.
My questions are how can I fluently speak a foriegn language in my sleep when I don't know any and how can I find out information on this??
Have any of you experienced anything like this? What would you do about it? I want to know what I'm speaking and what I'm saying.
At the end of what I said to my ex-hubby I added in English im going to kill you!!!!! ....and he said it wasn't my voice even!!!
Thanks for the input and feed back~JJ
hmm I find this a bit odd. I had a friend of mine that this sort of thing happened to a month ago, she spent the night at my house and i woke up at 3 in the morning and i heard whispering in my ear. I looked over and she was asleep but whispering a different lanuage i've never heard before and the only launage she knows is english. This is not the first time this has happened to her so in response to your question though i'm not sure how one would go about finding out what it is your saying in your sleep unless you could maybe find someone that could translate it. I think i might start looking into that and maybe come up with some answers for you
Hmm it could be..
1.Giberish sounds that sounds like talking but its just sounds/noises
2. "past life regression"
3. Somniloquy
4. or lies
"Some therapists think hypnosis opens a window to the unconscious mind where memories of past lives are stored. How memories of past lives get into the unconscious mind of a person is not known.."

Somniloquy or sleep-talking is a parasomnia that refers to talking aloud in one's sleep. It can be quite loud, ranging from simple sounds to long speeches, and can occur many times during sleep. Listeners may or may not be able to understand what the person is saying.
Sleep-talking usually occurs during transitory arousals from NREM sleep, which is when the body does not move smoothly from one stage in NREM sleep to another, and they become partially aroused from sleep. Further it can also occur during REM sleep at which time it represents a motor breakthrough (see sleep paralysis) of dream speech, words spoken in a dream are spoken out loud.
Sleep-talking can occur by itself or as a feature of another sleep disorder such as:
-REM sleep behavior disorder (RBD) - loud, emotional or profane sleep talking
-Sleepwalking
-Night terrors - intense fear, screaming, shouting
-Sleep-related eating disorder (SRED)
Sleep-talking is very common and is reported in 50% of young children, with most of them outgrowing it by puberty, although it may persist into adulthood (about 4% of adults are reported to talk in their sleep). It appears to run in families. Sleep-talking can be associated with fever.
Sleep-talking by itself is harmless; however, it can wake up others and cause them consternation—especially when misinterpreted as conscious speech by an observer. If the sleep-talking is dramatic, emotional, or profane it may be a sign of another sleep disorder (see above). Sleep-talking can be monitored by a partner or by using an audio recording device; devices which remain idle until detecting a sound wave are ideal for this purpose. Polysomnography (sleep recording) shows episodes of sleep talking that can occur in any stage of sleep.
Sufferers of sleep-talking have no control over what they say and can say things that they would not say when conscious.

In this forum their is some light to this topic of someone with a semilar case like you, see if it leads you to any resemblance on the explanations of their assumptions.

Record, log, and Record. Write the first thing that comes to mind in the morning, and scribble down the last thing you focused on before lying down to sleep. A basic exercise assigned by Para Behavioral researchers. There are factors that will either be deducted, or that will support further research.
Well I would have to hear it before I say anything.
Demons do exists, but those who understand their language are very little. Their language varies for every demon. I might be able to understand it, but I can't promise anything. Try to remember what all you say, or have someone try to write it down. I did that for a friend, and now I sometimes zone out and writ in the demonic language. The best person to go to would probably be a person that is part demon, or part angel, or one of their children. They might know the language from their non human parent.
I would like to know more.
There are voice activated recorders available so you don't have to worry about batteries or memory. I suggest keeping an in depth log, including event leading up to your bedtime. Also, ask any family is you ever did this when you were younger -- is this is something you've always done or did something happen to trigger this? Or, is a load of bollocks? Time to do some research on yourself! I would be interested to read what you find.
ive heard my fiaces grandma speaking what sounded like japanese but does not know anything except english and some cheyenne
My wife talks in her sleep and that can sound demonic...It is however not!
I have conversed with her while she is sleeping for around a minute before it become gibberish with little bits of normal language by her, thrown in. She talks about things which she will be doing and things she has done.
She also hits out in her sleep, which can be a little annoying.
If you are saying that you speak and your speach is not recording....firstly I would check out the recording equipment, if it's not faulty, call a sleep clinic, they will monitor you while you sleep.
i think i would go to a sleep study at a hospital ... i would not tell the hospital that info but instead just say your haven problems sleeping let them see and hear what your doing they record you and watch you while you sleep ...if this is happennning to you and your ex hubby is not trying to make you frightend then they will know what to tell you in the end
woah...sounds like somthing i been threw myself and
on of my buds as well.Usually if you do speak somthing
else in your sleep..it could be that your a hybred demon,
or maybe your not in an 'awakening' and you can only
truly be awaken by sleep.
I speak somthing that was told to me,
in a way that they don't know what it is,
but some of the words i say is older then time itself.
Next time tell your husband to write a word, and compare it with Hebrew, which is an ancient language. Many possession use this language.
I would do research on the "speaking in tongues" phenomenon that some "religious" movements claim to relate.
heard many talk in sleep gibberish not so much crazy yes... hmmm never know what the mind is thinkin alot of time is just things you may heard .. along the ways in yout life
I have heard members of my family talk in their sleep. Over time I've tried to listen in and catch what they were saying. Some times it sounds like they are carrying on a conversation. But then they are probably in a dream like state. Typically I can understand a word here or there, but most of it is gibberish, slurred or incomplete words. I never thought it was demonic in nature. I think it is normal sleep talking.
This type of thing is actually very common though it doesn't normally happen unless the person in under a lot stress or fear...
When you sleep, you're whole body sleeps, except for the brain... It has to keep itself occupied in order to keep from shutting down and killing you.
The reason you probably didn't sound like you is because all the muscles you use for talking were relaxed... It'll make you sound higher, lower, or just plain funny when it happens...
The fact that your friend didn't know what language you were speaking could also mean that you might have just been speaking gibberish that make have sounded like something. I'm sure you hear a lot of different accents and/or languages from different people everyday. Your mind records all of this and uses it later to help it stay active while you are sleeping.
I have been recorded calling poker hands in my sleep by my uncle, how would I know how to call poker hands? I was 10 at the time.
I actually went on a trip to Reno and Sparks, Circus Circus, the ambient sound of dealers imprinted on my subconcious, that same experience later aided me as a carney.
I have heard my dad talk fluently in his sleep as well.
very interesting... would like to know more as your situation progresses..
I do agree with the other on the sleep study.. also I would maybe have someone stay awake while you sleep one night to see if it happens and have them record your speaking
That's some pretty interesting stuff. In a few dreams i've spoken a language that I still don't really know what it is. I'm going to have to agree with a post above that it could be number of things from pastlife regressions, perhaps just spiritual conversations that can be held on the dream plane where people are more open to messages and such. Recording and researching may help a great deal. I wouldn't put a name on the language until you can speak with someone that is knowledgeable in both modern and perhaps faded or ancient languages :)
Three theories come to my mind:
1. Regression in a past life... sometimes, it is possible during the deep sleep moments, to access a genetic memory, fragments of not necessarily your past life but information received from your ancestors through the genes. It is just a theory...
2. Demonic talking... usually demons act, don't just talk when there's no one to hear them, or just a soul nearby. They take control and make use of your body.
3. The most real explanation is that your brain was looking for a way out; sometimes I surprise myself by talking gibberish when I am too stressed out or I make a huge effort, both mentally and physically and I just need to release some of the tension... the stress accumulated during the day finally manifests itself during the sleep... it is a way of keeping your mind sane.
My wife is so demonic in bed but she aint talking much.
Leaning on the gibberish side due to stress of some kind. Or plain ol' BS caused by late night movies.
However, There may be something to it after all. A friend of mine came into my bedroom to talk. I was fast asleep and dead to the world. She claims to have had a discussion with me. I swear I have no clue what she was talking about. I was sleeping. I don't remember any of it. It wasn't sleep talking either, it was not me doing the talking. She told me what was said and it was in phrases and words that I would never use to anyone or in any matter. Everything was very clear and to the point. But, not in any shape or sentence form that I ever used awake. I later told her to ask me/him who it is that is speaking if it ever happens again. Hell, I want to know too! True story.
So, maybe there was another voice coming through, or trying to and it sounded foreign.
Reminds me of 'Little Nicky' the Adam Sandler movie.
Sometimes just watching movies or television with a foreign language can imprint into your memory, and is stored until something traumatic or stressful happens.
It could be just jibberish with a few accented and exaggerated words, that sound like a 'language'.
As for possession, you would honestly now if you were or not.
I highly doubt it.
Try a logbook, and recordings.
Or go to a sleep institute.
I don't mean to sound cynical but demonic??? How would anyone know what a demonic would sound like when they are talking and if...just if one existed why wouldn't they have learned English?
Most exorcisms I have seen, the so-called demonic generally spoke Latin but then in movies have seen them spout others but that is fiction. How would one judge it being demonic?
Answering this would be dependent on the person's belief system. Perhaps an unconscious recollection of a pastlife if you believe in such things. I do but others do not. I would suggest having a sleep study done. They watch you during the course of the night and record everything.
I agree.
Past-life,strees,speaking words and phrases that you subconsciously know, etc.
I don't think it's demonic activity.
I was also, thinking, some spirits communicate through the sleeping. You should do a background check on your house and see if any foreigners lived there or immigrants.
Like many things on this site i require proof of what you claim. How conveinient that it didnt record, yet "frank" says it wasnt demonic? So if it wasnt demonic, why would it not record? Unless your voice recorder is busted? Use a camera? Until evidence is provided i remain skeptical of your claim.
i often speak in my sleep and ive been told i have spoken a foreign language too
Everyone talks in dream state, especially if the dream is so intense it seems realistic.
No indifferent than sleepwalking.
Speaking a different language could just be suppressed memory from studying a foreign language in school or possibly a past life. Everyone can change their monotone and voice from high to low, unless the voice is extremely indifferent like demonic, only then I would have grave concerns.
Sleep therapist could best monitor this activity if it continues.
My mother use to tell us that myself and my older sister carried on full conversations while asleep.
The subconscious mind is always alert and active, never resting, that is why an EEG is most helpful in this feild.
