Vampires are known by dire and feeding. If you are not role player, then what activity you do that that activity esteblish yourself a vampire in your belief?

My self I am psychic vampire I do meditate and go to spatial state from there I do feed on cosmic energy in my subtle state. this i do every 2 week once due to my charm to this energy. this makes me real vampire in dire of this energy.

Let me grow upon this thread to know real vampire kins.

I feed off of others mental/emotional energy. Also, if a fellow psy vamp is feeling down, when they feed off of my energy they are rejuvenated.

No offense. But, to discusse and to post about why you call yourrself a vampire, is not a good Idea. Many people got the miss understannding about people that follow the Vampire way of living. They blame vampires for the desappering of many young people thu the USA. So..Good Luck with this thread.

Here's a question: being able to feed on energy... or absorb it from other people or living things, does that necessarly make you a vampire or not? Because I can absorb energy from others.... but I've never really thought that made me a vampire because I don't feel any need to feed.

Yes, being able to pick up on other energies whether they be positive or negative doesn't make us all vampires, easy to say that some characteristics are the same as some other beings.

for the most part, i think most people its just a connection with the vampiric figure. . .people dont "really" need blood to live and too much would actually get you sick. . .and i have drank blood, i hate being out in sunny days without dark glasses cuz it gives me headaches. . .and the last year or so when i wear my couple silver rings for a few days and remove them i blister underneath . . .i like the lifestyle and the feelings it promoted toward others who judge me without knowing me ...it helps weed out fake from real friends

I don't really subscribe to all the sub-categories of vampire that exist, such as, psy... Making a generalization of the definition of vampire opened a crawl space to make the singular characteristic of drinking blood and applying it to every form of draining energy. Leeching is not vampiric, but shares the consumption of blood. Blood drinking is one in a combination of common denominator traits and not the end-all definition of a vampire.

Then again, we are dealing with fiction which can be manipulated as we see fit.

Hmm, I studied law... I suppose I would be a jurisprudence vamp.

As I have commented on in the many previous "incarnations" here of this same topic, to answer this question requires a definition of what is considered a "vampire."

While blood drinking is considered the "singular" trait of the vampire... yet this does not make anyone who happens to drink blood a vampire. In every fictional account of the "vampire," such blood drinking is engaged in solely so as to sustain the post-mortem life of the vampire who is, by the definition of all fictional accounts... "undead."

My point being here that to truly be considered a vampire, one must first be... dead.

Anyone here have that most basic trait... hmmm?

- Upir'

Drinking blood in any other context disqualifies one entirely from being a

Thus to truly emulate the "vampire" of fiction, one must first be ... dead.

Having Pernicious Anemia...I am unable to make my own blood with-out assistance... And we all die eventually, if we don't get blood...wether we consider ourselves human or vampire. Very rare and vampiric in nature...by my definition.

PS. Venom I don't see anything wrong with this thread ;-).

"A blood-sucking ghost; a soul of a dead person superstitiously believed to come from the grave and wander about by night sucking the blood of persons asleep, thus causing their death. This superstition is now prevalent in parts of Eastern Europe, and was especially current in Hungary about the year 1730." -VR
along many other descriptions of one..

-Drinking blood
-Disliking the sunlight
-Reach a: "state where you can absorb things, person energy)
-Have medical condition relating to traits of the vampire denomination.

Doesn't make you anything but a self professed leech or "bloodsucker", no vampire anywhere, its stated already what is one by many things, many times, many cultures, and to come here and say "yeah umm Im one only not like the myth, stories and whatever", but the myth, stories and whatever is all there is, outside of that is just people shifting their "perception of what really is something", with something absolutely new in profession over described nomenclature in times. Why don't "you" direct yourself as a human leech or "absorber"? How much of this goes to attention, role-playing ? never heard of psychic vampire, other than the modern fabula of infatuated people with the lore and its representation..."yea yeah, here comes the whole you don't understand" yoyo-ing effect of a self professing individual in a discussion"

I find it rather humerous that certain individuals still wish carry on and seem rather in haste to describe their personal attributes, and or qualities that might deem them worthy of such stereotypical modifications.

I do agree with a couple of individuals that have already applied their thoughts in post, such as ~Markus666~.

I do not need to justify my convictions here. I am vampire not because I call myself vampire, but because I have no choice. It is who I am. Period.

Those individuals that seem to try too hard to categorize themselves in my mind, just tend to humiliate themselves in the long run. You may call yourself what you will. As long as you are comfortable in that fact.

Let no one judge without proper reason. As well, if the indvidual wishes to "fish" for information as to why others claim to be vampire, let them. They may not find what they are looking for since most of the answers out there circle under false pretense anywho.

The vampire does not disclose its "feeding" habits for a reason, since it is no ones business to begin with. In my view, it is privilaged information alone and not to be taken lightly, nor with a grain of salt.

As I've mentioned in several threads similar to this, I don't really label myself as a vampire. I prefer to have others draw conclusions because to me it's more entertaining that way. Physically, yes, I am human. But that's where the similarity ends.

Absolutely false. While the majority of vampire fiction involves a blood feeding undead creature not all do. Some vampire fiction actually involves psy or sexual feeding. Several vampire tales have 'living' vampires - human vampires with souls.

~Alixaryon~: "I dont see why is this marcus666 so much better than the rest of us?"

My reply: No one is the better then the rest of anyone...I was simply making a statement that some individuals on the Rave show a bit more common sense then the rest. ~Markus666~ being one of several. If you really want me to give the examples, so be it.

~UpirLikhyj~
~Revenous~
~BeautifullySadistic~
~Idbeholda~
~CryingDutchess~
~MyrrhkuriTheFallenOne~
~LadyxDarkxRayne~

So I see no reason, why your question was asked in the first place unless it was a shrewd, snide remark out of the sake of sheer tenacity.

These individuals responses lay the foundation of what appears to be "real" time answers, instead of mellowdramatic answers that are always given by the individuals that blatantly confess to the actual stigma and erroneously exaggerate the title with great detail.

But if you choose to act as a child does when giving a reply then so be it, next time though...please do it in private message instead of thread post.

I don't know if there are vampires out in the world. I know people say they are and that's fine for them. I however, am not a vampire.

I am pale and burn easily, therefore I don't like the sun,
I have a great intuition therefore I can "Read People", like a vampire,
and
when I cut myself, I have no qualms about sucking my finger.

I'm not trying to be funny but as someone stated before to be a defined Vampire, you MUST BE DEAD. And my friends, if you are the walking dead, please come to Ohio and hang out with me so I can see for myself.

As I have grown physically, I have grown with knowledge. I used to believe that I could one day be a true vampire. I used to dream about it actually. I've always loved the dark and turned it into my light. Which I still do but I can't say that for sure whether vampires exist because no one has proven to be a vampire when they call themselves one.

Here is a link from the database to a book from a series about vampires with souls. They are human called Moravians. They are just another ethnic group of humans. Some of them lose their souls only gaining them again if they find their 'beloved'. It's a romance series so, you know - it has the same base plotline. The books are really good, though.

As far as the vampires who feed of energy, I'll have to do a bit of a search. They're short stories in a compilation I have.

The funny thing about fiction is that, as people grow the stories change. It is fiction, it is made up. Since you discuss fictional vampires, then you have to take into consideration ALL vampire fiction, not just the ones that fit within your own narrow definition.

And while it doesn't change the point of your statement, it most certainly does prove the fallacy of your statement.

I don't think they are asking here about something from fiction or folklore. Many can wield energy and use it for certain purposes. Thought essentially is energy and when projected correctly there is a reaction some call magick. The difference is there is an urge and really an unconscious feeding. I hate using the word feeding. It is energy that is needed beyond what food will provide. Energy comes from food and many sources but in the case of those who use the term vampire to describe their state of being they need more than that to remain totally fit. They get sick more or less but do not usually die or anything and it affects the mood. It is a complex issue. Healers use the energies for that purpose but not all can heal and some vampyrics have this ability almost innately because of their natural ability to tap into various types of energy and it's not all the same for each one. Most learn to focus it and use it to their best purposes. Blood drinking is incidental, a few do that but its not the majority. I think some think that is glamorous and like the fictional vampire. It gives a boost certain people need but they will and do take energy from many sources. Beyond that I am not going to say and geesh I never heard of people thinking vampires are stealing their kids...that is laughable.

Most of this will cause a bickering because many want to remain secret and those who are among the subculture don't agree on the workings of anything so they bicker. This question could get many types of answers. Many it is assumed have reversed circadian rhythms. Day to night is normal but vampyrics are night to day people and many have night jobs if they can get them. There are exceptions so the why is very personal for most people, it doesn't require belief or sanction, it just exists by whatever name you want to call it. Vampyrics tend to gravitate together as a group of all ages and socio-economic levels. I dare to tell many they are nuts who have PHds and Masters and teach in Universities, Lawyers, Doctors, Religious folks and the list goes on...why, It's really hard to explain that. One just knows is the best answer I know. Perhaps the word vampire is a tag that should be dropped in these times because of the fictional connotations but I don't think that will ever happen...you are what you are and vampires are not and never have been like Twilight, Trueblood, Dracula or any of those made up stories.

"you are what you are and vampires are not and never have been like Twilight, Trueblood, Dracula or any of those made up stories."

You are what you claim you are, nothing more. Vampires are the folkloric adaptations in dated cultures, what is not/never being is the human calling himself one, it is the subculture that profess themselves as such, around 10-17 years this wasn't even a subject of discussion, and is not because "you remained in the shadows" is because it was simply non-existent, since some RPG games and few sensational books came out, maybe "psychics", "energy revolvers" and all those characteristics that "lights the bulb in regards of -wait I am like that i must be one-"/ the whole notion of one being a "psi vampire" or "sang vampire", infatuated people romanticized with the persona started making such claims and documentaries dressing like "Dracula" and putting fangs as if that accentuate their whole character in the search of "respect of convictions/profession". Vampires are described in many cultures and myths later adapted in movies and books, in regards of each author perception/viewpoints of it (which means they mold the story as pleased), the books doesn't add any value on the nomenclature of the modern myth, is just contemporary perspective from wide descriptions taken from the past, either of them might hold any "truth/value" in facts; but one thing is the folk from cultures and another thing is the fiction from books and movies. Say: I make a new movie" humans that drink blood and think they are vampires">its perceived as the audience by a vampire, does it make one in regards of the array of description in every part of the globe? nope. One have to separates both worlds, even if its all fallacy. 'Cause now I can write that my vampires walk in the sun, drink holy water, don't have fangs, eat burgers for energy, tolerant to cross, garlic, silver and sacrifice all the myth and still be viewed as a vampire in regards of my point of view; which only have value to the fan in correlation to the original mythology outlook.

vvSoulshroudevv I understand that you are a very realistic individual, and that you highly value common sense, that is the truth, as do I, but I asked this question not be cause it was meant to provoke in any way, but I simply thought how we all know there are many people here who are in to roleplay, and that helps them recharge their batteries after a long working day, so why not just give them a break, let them fly away a bit to their imaginary worlds, let them be fictitious, fantastic, and supernatural, and not just always put an accent on how they are saying something wrong, be cause they are not. Roleplay certainly wont turn in to schizophrenia, but it keeps the place spiced up, you know, fun to be around for all the folk. This is Vampire Rave, and fantasy is an important part of it. You know that. You seriously dont believe that many of these unrealistic statements are made be cause all those who stated them seriously believe in them? I dont see the reason for harsh critics of their roleplaying expression, thats all.

ROLEPLAY RULEZ BABY! KEEP IT UP! KEEP UP THE GOOD COMPANY! YEAH!

BeautifullySadistic -

On two posts now you have dedicated much to misinterpreting and then disparaging what you judge to be my view on vampires. While declaring my statements as fallacious, yet the only fallacy in evidence here is your "strawman" attempt at myopic misrepresentation of my views.

How ironic you should accuse me of only believing in fictional vampires when, in fact, every trait listed here and every pop-culture image of the vampire found throughout this site is purely the result of ... fiction.

I, on the other hand, am one of the very few who has forever championed and expounded here the fact that there was an actual historical vampire very different from the fictional depictions of Eastern European lore, which were in fact deliberate vilifications.

The fictional vampire is based on the historical truth behind a highly unique race of males that were and are the real-life descendants of those originally vilified as the "Fallen Angels." All those of this unique race possess a singular and very real trait for which they were first vilified as the "undead" and then as blood-drinkers so as to scare local populaces and women, in particular. This soon resulted in persecution and then slaughters that were later re-visited on females similarly vilified as witches during the "Burning Times"... and for the exact same reason!

And in all THREE historical cases (i.e., Fallen Angels, Vampires, and Witches), all such were slaughtered for possessing the SAME SINGULAR TRAIT (see Malleus Maleficarum, Question Six).

Should the facts be of interest to you... my entire profile page here is entirely dedicated to the dissemination of factual information regarding the actual historical vampire culled from years of in-depth historical research.

Perhaps you should devote your posts to the actual forum topic at hand instead of using such for personal attacks on others whose views you do not begin to understand.

The point remains that all the traits discussed here (e.g., parasitic practices including blood-drinking, psy, sexual; increased strength and sensory skills) are those based solely and entirely on ... fiction. I challenge you to find one trait listed here that isn't.

Thus, it isn't me who actively perpetuates a belief in the fictional vampire, now is it?

And, this being the case, the one fictional trait upon which all others depend is that to first be a "vampire," one must first be ... dead.

Thus, unless there are those here who wish to claim that they have actually risen from the grave (*chortle*), they cannot claim to identify themselves as the pop-culture imagery (i.e., fictional representation) of the "vampire."

- Upir'

I apologize, I was thinking you only believed in the fictional vampires (as a fictional vampire, not as them being 'real' I mean). It's been a while since I've seen you post anything about the subject and I just remembered incorrectly.

As I have stated, I'm not discussing my views on vampirism here as I have no need to. I know what and who I am. If people don't believe, I don't care. It isn't up to me to persuade someone I don't know and will never meet.

I am a psy that does at times need and I do mean need to feed off of others. I have a noticable physysiological responce to not feeding for a time and my partners do indeed feel when I feed from them.

For those that are on the fence about whether or not they are true vampires I suggest Michelle Bellenger's book "Psycic Vampire Codex". It is very informative for the newly awakend.

Once again, we have in our midst, an individual who classifies the vampires as "psi" and or "sang."

There is no "awakening" effect. This again, was brought on by those who wanted to keep the masquerade alive while not admitting to actually roleplay themselves.

The "vampire codex" is simply a money making book that has the views of several misunderstood individuals that role along with the vampire community that continually profess a belief in the "black veil" guidelines.

I think this thread refers to the actual vampire, not the vampyre as in "living vampire." But again, the term "vampire" is a very broad spectrum of conditions. So choose your reasoning wisely, since some of it could be laughed at.

True, but if you want to get away from the steriotypes and the rollplayers that have been accepted you have to seperate the fictional from the real. The fact that some of us have to drink blood while others of us must feed off the energy is a proven fact and seperates us from the rollplayers as they pretend at these things that we do to survive. seperating psy and sang is just a matter of how we feed.

As for the awakening effect, not everyone is capable of understanding what it is that is lacking and making them sick. if you must romanticise the vampire and say we must all be dead to be a vampire then how many of us would be on here?

Yeah the vampire codex fills that gap between both worlds i guess, specially when the writter acknowledge the fabula inside the proclamation, the book just serve the same as the sacred books to ideologic subscribers does to them, a spark in the bulb, a witnessed truth, a way to be, an absolutist inclination, before it was written nobody was circulating such claims, now everybody that think they witness a trait as described in a book thinks they are what is written. Now you are all vampires, and if i happen to "take" energy from other, then that makes me a vampire too. Because that was the generic description of one. The book is a perspective not a "truth", only you/others take it as truth as religious group take it as truth their holy relics/books, and when you say is evidenced the condition, their is no condition but sensationalism that is evidenced, if you are dead or somehow immortal by "un-natural" means and here typing then you hold a correlation to the word "vampire", energy drainers and blood consumptions doesn't make one anything but that-"drainers".

I would ask then what definition you hold for being a vampire as you seem to say that none of us on here can clasify ourselves as such. I highly doubt that any of us are undead, reincarnated yes but not undead. the whol undead thing is fantatical story telling. even Vlad Tsepath wasn't undead yet he is the one we call Dracula and tell all the stories about...

Exactly, then since nobody is the sole description of the vampire nomenclature then none of you really are anything but what you call yourself, As i responded in earlier posts, the term was given to those fiends and allegorical characters that in modern society where described as such, Dracula is an adaptation and interpretation of past stories, not something to abide as "vampire" due to popular insight is called as such and so is all the movies, books and proclamation of a vampire. One could say technically talking "Dracula" had some of the aspects of a "vampire" in regards to the social conception of many cultures around the world. Now the contemporary denomination of one is simply the narrowed version of all the fictional version synthesized from mythological recompilation of the array of cultural classification claimed in the original conception of groups may it be by here-say or documented still relevant to the origins. Again the person that "sees in the dark" doesn't make one a vampire, a person that "drains" energy doesn't mean he is a vampire, a person that "consume" blood doesn't make them a vampire, a person that have "ESP abilities" doesn't make anything near a vampire, just because a book classify traits that in the narrator seam evident of something doesn't have weight over the authentic overlook of the realization.

Once again, I will debate until eternities end that the humanus individual can survive regardless of their adaptation of the word "vampyre"; psi or sang. Sadly, most adolescent to young adult ages roughly between 16 and 25 at the most, hopefully at the most; could be naive enough to fall privvy to such stigma as represented by the "black veil syndrome."

The individual may think that by taking "energy" from any "elemental source" and I use this term broadly...since a couple of individuals here do classify themselves with unorthodox talents as "cosmos" feeders and or "weather and worldy" elements. But truth be told, just because the individual maintains an illness does not mean that they are truly vampire.

This may be debated until kingdom come, but it is the known truth. Excuses will come and go, and convictions will always be brought to the table and tested, but the fact remains clearly the same. Humans who adapt to the vampire can and will always survive without feeding "psychically" from other living organisms. Period.

Since the definition of the vampire by todays social standards is too broad to realize, and excuses with conviction lead to subtle and or heated arguement, it is simply a word taken with a grain of salt. Which is why the term and mispelling of the word "vampyre" has become so popular amongst todays subculture which is fondly known as the vampire community can be used without reference or proper medical paperwork to prove their case.

My point being, the individual can classify themselves and segregate themselves all they want. But, the true definition of the vampire in all due rights, is "the need to feed." Period. This need to feed is again a broad scope...thus the stereotypes are made in conviction for those of whom wish to "fit in" with the in crowd.

If the individual does practice proper ways to produce what their bodies are lacking; physically and spiritually, then more power to them. But, if they just go about their lives and telling the world that they are vampire without method, reasoning, or practice of their act...then the world should indeed take their word with a grain of salt.

Since more then half of that subculture is full of poppy cock in the first place, then I arrest my case. Most of them are in it for selfish gain, lifers that are lonely and seemingly hopeless from their youth and just want to "fit in" somewhere.

Personally I am more of a Ghost, by practice.

It was mentioned above," Why not just let people role play."

For fun sure, but when those same people start scoffing those who don't react to their assumed character role, those who are serious role players, or ritual ( religious) about it need to respect those who are indifferent to such practices, and beliefs.

There are plenty who seek others for kindered testimony, I have observed the sad reality of how often people who role play, or identify as vampire, or vampiric turn on each other socially.

Absolutely ridiculous! NOBODY "needs to drink blood" to survive, I challenge you to prove it. Yes there are medical conditions that may require transfusions or supplements...but thats about it. Drinking blood is not a necessity, and if you transcribe to that belief, then I'd have to say that it qualifies you as a roleplayer as well. Drinking blood is a choice and or fetish. Come off it already. Statements such as that are dangerous. There are very naive and easily impressionable people on this site that could take that statement and run off into a dangerous direction with it.

Such statements are made to " amp" a thread, the poster then fancies the reaction to their matter-of -fact ejactulation, they imagine ( rather convincingly) that they are " feeding" no doubt.

I believe there are beings beyond ourselves, but I don't believe anyone on here is a 'living', 'breathing', 'blood-pumping', 'bowel moving', and 'food eating' vampire.

~laughs~

You can live and enjoy the lifestyle of a vampire, but that does not make you 'physically' a vampire.

The link is entitled: Daybreakers. A movie trailer based on the ultimate visual...what if the world was a vampire, and humans were being hunted.

Nice analogy for the thread, thankyou ~Revenous~.

You are all welcomed. I find the concept quite interesting, I could say the idea is something 'progressive' to the vampiric description, one could say it is a genuine yet "original' trailer/conception by the looks of it, never imagined the inverse situation; leaving behind all the victorian clothes, the whole hiding, the mystery, and prejudice of being a vampire, in this case the prejudice and all the above revolves in the humans condition.

Well the vampires are mentioned in tales and epics not from few centuries, it comes from thousands of years first in vocal epics and later those written scripts. in India there too mention of vampires in holy epics such s Ramayana and Mahabharata.

There said in Ramayana's War staged on earth in the era of demons, apes and human both were prevailing that time and the psychic powers been used as war craft and the nuclear weapons too been used frequently and the wars faught underwater, on lands, on planets and in air. the mention of vampire is so frequently that whenever the human won wars occured, the vampires used to reach there each night to drink the blood of the dead ( not from injured person ) this matter states that there been blood vampire with high psychic power of reaching everywhere was pevailing that time. this led me to think over this matter. that what the vampire would be?

It is physical as like as human race and may be among human from human only and dire makes them different from human and this dire keep them stay away from common peepal.

I thought over this topic that real vampires may differ from fictional vampires due to their dire and this dire eject them from other energies as those are commonly owned by vampires as well as other kins universally such as bio-feeding (eating veg as well as non veg food), sex and emotion.

But the vampire differ from them by unholy dire of energies which is not recommended to the common kin such as blood, blood is the food of mosquitos, bats or vampires. the blood is called source feeding. the blood when injected via salain or pipes through blood pouch to recover from the defficiency, it is not the dire, it is the need of physical sickness. But blood taken through mouth and taste, it become feeding and this dire makes the kin a vampire.

Like wise the psychic feeding on others energy not directly with the consent of the person makes them psychic vampire.

such as the psychic vampire makes the swan very weak when the swan do not know that he is the source of psychic feeding. and in sexual energy regards, when person rise celestially or via aura seek and feed on the swan by the means of incubi or succubi, it is called vampire and like wise they feed on emotions and sex and other psychic energy too.

But few vampires feed through holy means too. such as if vampire ( by explanation who dire energies is called vampire ) goes feeding on natural means of energies such as air and sphere, elements, cosmic energies (this type stays balanced in days and dark both). the means is to go subtle and gain the energies nd then do the relaxing exercises to balance the dark with the light.

But the vampires with unholy means of feeding if ontinuous on harnessing energies including blood feeding, they can not keep the balance of light and dark and that time they dislike light rays coz their hait try to keep them in dark and their inner respond irritated to light rays.

In reiki too there is use of energies but it can not be called the vampire coz they do not have dire of energies and they use energies as tool of their method and they always keep them selves in light side as base. and dark do not consume them co tehy are masters of energies and sensitive thus darkness does not affect their living coz they are not vampires nor they dires.

Vampryes do not have to consumme blood, but they have to consumme energy. Energy can be consumme in many different ways and it is the way you consumme the energy that defines your status.

Do not all living things "consume energy"? Were your definition at all accurate, would this not make of every living thing... a "vampire"?

Yes I am agree with M'Lord Doru. Blood fed as means of energy, or in absence of the blood, the kin become graceless, is called sang vampyre. like wise other energy's dire makes the kin psychic vampyre. In months thecouple days come when I really dire to feed on cosmic energy, that time i become vampire and i clearly view myself as demonic vampyre after I could not handle such a great load of energies...

M'Lord Upir,

Universal food of feeding (such as veg food and non veg accepted food) is the human means of feeding, but the feeding which is uncommon and not sugggested to human and dire of which especially for energies (not intoxication coz getting intoxicated food is the habit of demons) is called vampyre. yes dire for not the food but the energies makes a kin vampyre. blood too carry the energy to the cells.
