There's been a policy change in regard to having multiple accounts. Here's the new policy:

You are only allowed to have 1 free account. If you wish to have multiple accounts, all accounts you maintain must be premium.

The following exceptions exist, for members who have multiple accounts:

just to verify, and make sure: I have 2 lifetime account, so this means for each of them I can get 3 free?

And since I got also a third as premium, this means next november I do not have to renew its premium and can make 5 free in total added to this one, as I got 2 lifetime?

why would anyone ever want more than 1??? but thats cool to know...

I think this is extremely fair actually and just makes good sense as far as server load etc (amount of info stored yadda yadda).

As far as why would someone want multiple accounts? Some like to use accounts to show different parts of their life/personality, others to be in more parts of VR, to have a "private" account where they can have more fun without the hassle of "being" someone (this is especially used for those who have a position here) and other reasons. I've had a few and it's pretty darn fun.

If a member has a lifetime membership, they may have up to 3 additional free accounts.


if I read correctly the word membership is not in plurial.

so does this mean each lifetime = 3 free?

And I will wait for a reply from someone part of the Vampire rave staff, an acolyte and up as they represent Cancer. The guy who makes the decision and run this wonderful site.

I think that is very fair, for those of us that have Higher Ranking accts and are House or Coven Masters.

It really doesn't matter how high up you are status wise, or if you have a Society. It all depends on your premium memberships.

Yes I understand that, the multiple accts that I do have are all Premium and one of which is a lifetime acct

CryingMist- only 3 free accounts period if you fall into the category that can have them (own a lifetime membership or 5 regular premium accounts). As stated in the last portion of the first post:

You can't have 6 freebies if you have 2 lifetimes pros.

And to answer a question posed earlier in the thread, some have their reasons for multiples. I personally have done so to serve my alliances in the same ways they have my coven since opening. Free ones? I'm too addicted to the PM system to want to keep a free one but it's nice to know I won't have suspended profile if one expires.

This is great...but how anyone can keep up with that many accounts is beyond me...LOL!

I use to have 5 premiums hehehe
2 lifetimes and 3 yearly premium hehe

it is a lot of work.

I might do it again, especially with the game, it will be useful with the online game ^^

Regarding my own situation:

I originally opened an account in 2006...was a member for just over a year when my account was suspended. I was given no explanation.

Aproximately a year later (after the suspension) I decided to have another crack at VR, so I opened another account. On a whim one day, I did a search for my old account, and found that it was again able to be viewed etc...

However at this time, I couldn't remember what the password was...

Fast forward to a later date, in which upon further reflection, I managed to remember/guess the password.

Long story short,
It rendered me with dual profile status.

I had heard a rumour that mulitple profiles have to be premium, so I did explain in the profile that I was waiting to be able to finance it. Which I did.

However...I don't see this as being a fault of mine. Sure I could have continued to not use my old account...but I have not received any explanation about why it was suspended in the first place. I have change NONE of its content...(if it was a case of questionable material.)

oh well.

Alexandra, I can message you about that personally. I can see the record of the suspension and why it happened.

I just wanted to add that only having two profiles doesn't put you in the exception group where you can have 3 free accounts. You have to have 5 regular paid accounts or a lifetime account in order for that to happen.... so if you only had one annual, 6 month, or monthly PM- or even two... you would not be able to have the free accounts as well. *not sure if that had anything to do with your issue, just thought I'd throw it in there*

I think this is a great idea. I have 3 lifetime memberships, and I dont think I would want to have another 3 accounts even if I dont have to pay for them. If this was the case before I opened my other accounts I would of used it.

Another step forward for VR.

If you all read the last line on Cancers post it tells you that you can only have 3 free accounts in total, that it doesn't accumulate.

It doesnt matter what position you have within VR if you can read this and understand it then why do you need a Regent etc to explain.

I personally am against multiple accounts, i look at it as a way to deceive, but many do not.
It would be nice to know how many single users are on vr? but that will never happen,
I dont let people I know that have multiple accounts in my coven but i do make exceptions...

Anyways if i run accross someone with 2 free accounts I will tell the the rule and have them change it, once i tell them its against the rules then its all on them..

Are you really understanding the change? Free members cannot have another free account. A lifetime member/one with 5 premiums can have 3 free accounts extra. Regular free members can still only have 1 account.

Lifetime member is here to stay.
Anyone with 5 paid accounts is here to stay.

I see it as an award for those who are here, who support the site as much as they can, so it can stay free. I mean...free members have more perks now then ever before. And to me that is a great thing. :)

But now... those who help, in a small way, support the site is given something free as well.

Raziel - I understand where having those with multiple within other societies may be concerning. I feel as long as they respect your RULES that you have set as far as certain information you may or may not wish to indulge to other's. Many Societies have a similar policy that all information is to remain within the societies walls.

Plenty of us have legit multiple profiles, and that doesn't equate to shady behavior. Just because some people can't understand our reasons and have no use for it themselves, it doesn't invalidate why we do it.

People want to be in more than one society, some people journal poetry on bloodyfeather.com under a profile not connected to them so they can get honest comments, and other things... all kinds of very innocent reasons.

I think it is a great thing, but some of us only can handle one account at a time but it is good to know, Thanks Cancer.

I think this is a great change to VR. I have multiple accounts and I have them because I like being in different societies and to just go about my business on here sometimes and not be bothered.

Personally, I only want one account and can only handle one. However, I have no problem with others having multiples - to each their own. I do think it needs to have rules and this is a good way to do it, in my opinion. Thanks Cancer for this great site!

Cancer, Thank you for changing the policy. I think it will lead to more lifetime members. Although I am a lifetime member, I do not believe I will have more than one account but it is good for someone who chooses to have more than one account.

Why would anyone want multiple accounts? That might mean a faster friends list update, but that would be a waste of time and effort of trying to connect with people.

Adding this new feature I think was a great idea. Yes I have other accounts 1 of which is a lifetime membership, everyone has their own reasons for why they have them, other ways to be creative or having downtime on here when your a House or Coven master.

i wish i would have known this before. i have 4 premium accounts. three are a year, one is 6 months. the 6 mnth one is my husbands. (I pay for all these accounts from my main profile) I have multiple accounts to reflect the different sides of me. I just wish I knew earlier, because I just made this profile and it could have been a free one.

Mutiple accounts might seem helpful, but only if one of your accounts were suspended.

Well, the way I use multiple accounts is never to deceive. Being a coven master on this one allows me to poke in and post in my alliance though for a time I was helpful in 2, now 1 coven as an ACM. Yeah, I'm sure there are those who use it for such but I'm also sure there aren't many.

Aizen, creating another account because you were suspended is just another way to get suspended, again.

EclipseMoon, you can have a free account only if you have at least one life time Premium.

I've got two lifetime accounts. My Army one and my civilian one, both easily recognizable as the same person.
I can barely keep up with those two but hey, some people like more.
I like the change. It gives people more to do and keeps them busy if they need it.

I think it is a great idea. I came here to have fun and meet people. This is something one can do because after awhile I found one account to be less challenging I guess. I like the creativity side of building the profiles. There are people here with a great deal of knowledge far beyond anything I know but still I found it a great outlet and interesting. I never even thought of there being any shady side to it, lol. I didn't always announce it was me in the newer profiles but I didn't try to really hide it. It is an amazing experience to me to start something at the bottom and see what happens by working my way up. I don't know if I could handle that many accounts though. It takes a lot of time to move up the levels.

I think it is a neat idea. Not that I don't already have 2 profiles - 1 lifetime, and a premium account, but I also have my boyfriend who logs in on his account - which is premium, on my computer and when I am at his house, I sign into my own account on his computer. This also helps to keep suspension down for us because the IP addys match for both of us.

raziel, as you yourself have noted, your posts may be deleted and for good reason. The purpose of this thread is not to debate whether or not mulitple profiles are "wrong".

Those posts belong in your journal.

Yay, your awesome. This helps alot. I have 6 premium accounts. This will help me alot if i am needed to help out in a new coven.

To make it clear as to why I have so many, Friends of mine, some from my own coven, created a coven of there own, I created a profile to help each one with there covens, and was asked to stay. I have mine to help where needed.
