I have read Vampires: The Occult Truth by Konstantinos and found a section in the book about Moras. Moras are night hags, a vampire of sorts that attacks a sleeping victim and drains them of blood/energy. I myself have expierenced an attack but unlike the accounts i've read, I felt no terror, quite the opposite it was a ...pleasureable expirence. I'd rather not go into detals in a public forum so i'll leave it with ask if you want to know.
Has anyone else had a similar expirence? and If so could you sum it up so we could possibly explain the phenomenon.
NOTE: Workers of the occult, use smaller and simpler terms please. I study some magic but don't practice, so I would appreciate layman's terms if you have complex theorys.
I myself have not experienced this. Though, this is a very popular legend. Ive read a bit about it. There are also some interesting old drawings depicting this type of thing.
I have heard of them.... simliar to incubbus and succubus legends.
yes! thank you, those were the terms I was looking for I think. lol

Or, it might have just been a dream... eat anything spicy that night?
Been out drinking?
Got some heavy stuff on your mind, like, what to dress as for Halloween?
That's messed up birra.
As for your pleasurable experiance, it is possible. Anything in the prenatural world is possible.
i have heard of such accounts but never experianced it myself i would be interested in knowing more of your experiance
I have read alot about this. Never had the experience myself unpleasant or otherwise. I agree it is possible, anything is. Is it a single experience? Was it real or self induced from the depths of your mind or wishes? Or as mentioned above....spicy food and booze? lol
Most important is what you feel it was.

That is pretty messed up.. believing spirits are coming to have sex with you in the night... wow.
But there is proof that things that could disturb your sleep, such as indigestion or inebriation can cause you to have some unusual and vivid dreams...
Hags- or Night Hags- are frequently confused with witches or Wiccans, which are priestesses of the old so-called pagan earth magic. They are, in fact, totally un-related both by practice and species. Hags are, in fact, elemental beings- some actually being the remnants of certain ancient goddesses- who are generally thought to be the personification of winter, predominantly within the British Isles. Some hags turn from hideously ugly to breathtakingly beautiful at the turn of winter to spring. Often having a triumvirate character- as most commonly seen in the three “weird sisters” from Mac Beth- they sometimes simply have three phases within the one hag. One example of this is Cailleach Bheur of Scotland. Also known as the Blue Hag, she is a cross between an underworld goddess and a fairy spirit. She is often depicted with fangs and sometimes three faces, exemplifying the essence of the triple being or deity. Many Night hags, however, seem to represent fertility deities gone awry, or as warning spirits. Such creatures are Black Annis- who eats stray children and lambs, and Peg Powler- also known as Jenny Green Teeth. Peg is a hag who inhabits rivers, and is often described as having long hair and sharp teeth. Peg is fond of grabbing the ankles of those who stand too close to or wade into the water, pulling the hapless victim under the murky water to drown. Most hags, however, are thought to bring in the winter and cause snow, sleet, and ice storms.
Such beings are Babba Yatchka and Hogartha. These sisters spend their time brewing up “Autumn’s Essence” in their Stone Cauldron and prepare for their deeper “Winter Brew”!!! They use their enchanted Tanglewood brooms to brush the winter clouds and cause icy rain and snow. They also use them to stir the winds and send the autumn leaves dancing. With their blighting breathe they kill the fruit left too long on the tree and vine, brining heavy killing frosts to the land. However, within the color of their hideous green skin lies the promise of the returning Spring and warm Summer days to come.

I've never expirienced something like that, but, because it was a "pleasurable experience" for you, it sounds like you were visited by a Incubus or Succubus rather than a night hag.
Sex with spirits is common, actually, especially in some magickal circles -- even a part of some systems of sex magick.
As for the night hags... I personally believe that it can happen as a result of a spirit encounter. I've had a few experiences that I won't relate here for privacy reasons. I can't say that I've ever had paralysis or stifling feeling, though.
The pleasurable effects of your encounter make it seem more along the lines of an spirit visitation, but it's hard to say.
But it can also be caused by the phenomenon known as sleep paralysis. It's difficult to say for sure, really, what you experienced.
Please excuss me for leaving out the link I thought I had included it. An error on my part was trying to be helpful on the subject for others to read and learn something of them.
I have experienced something similar.
But it was always quite horrible.
But every once in a while, it was pleasent.
perhaps i have to meditate on this.
I think alot of things can go on when your asleep.
I'll always remeber the dream I had when I was 17. I was attacked by a german shepard in my dream, and in my dream I feignted. I could feel the appropriate tinliness and knew I was slippng too far gone. I suppose it's like they say about waking up before you hit bottom in a fall.
My mother told me that one time she came home and fell asleep on her couch and awoke in the night unable to breathe. There was a shapeless mass of blacker than blackness looming over her. She screamed and it left, but what if she wouldn't have awoken?
Incubi & Succubi bring pleasurable experience whether in true physical form, or their common astral representation. But it my firm belief that anyone can manifest themselves in a non-corporeal manner, and influence the actions, thoughts and dreams of another...
Much as you may think of someone just as you lay ur head down for a nap... the thought just pops into ur head because they are thinking strongly of u

well be it, vampiric demon (ala Incubi or prefereably Succubi) witchcraft or something all together different, i know this was not a dream. I never dream of my immediate reality. I was using magick from the Necronomicon at that point in my life, and i may have opened myself to something and not known it. It has been the only expirence i can remember, but my friend Jessica had the same expirence on the same night. This is why I doubt it being imagined or a dream.
I have not had this experience, but, I have had an experience where I woke up falling out of bed because I jumped in my sleep, because I felt that I was falling down the stairs, when I awoke I did have alot of bruises on my arms and legs like I actually fell down the stairs when I wasnt even near the stairs!!!
I have had the experience where I thought I was awake, and could not move. I felt as if someone was sitting on my chest. I have always chalked it up to a bad dream, as I always scream out, yet no one hears.
I read somewhere that that occurence can happen right before REM sleep. A type of hallucination. Its terrifying, none the less.
i don't know what to believe about this. i have heard of it, but it has not happened to me. im not saying i don't believe in something if it hasn't happened to me, i just don't know. this sounds like something that you can only count on the persons word about it. i don't know how you would actually prove something like this.
yes i did.. but in my case it were just two girls who were playing vampires i would say.. i woke up before they could touch me... and there was no blooe that night but a very long diskussion
I am not sure what to think about night hags.
I think we all have dreams that are too real for comfort and that our subconscious can be very tricky in leading us to believe a dream world is reality.
jakalova and others who say such things...
Do not relate my kindred, the Daemonic Incubi and our female kine with the Vampiric creatures... we are not of that breed, nor do we wish it
I think that instead of a Night Hag, it is an extreme build-up of magical energy that creates delusions or out of body experiences.
Shadowgirl
Well I beleive things can enter your mind when your sleeping. Am I sure why or how ,no. I have never had one want to have sex with me but it could have been a erotic dream. Hmmm can i have one of those please lol. ya know your mind never stops working so I guess it could happen.
hmm..well theres always the notion that it could be your bodies reaction to whatever yo uwere dreaming...i've had very realistic dreams where i died or have had sex, and my body felt like it had done just that, like dying my body was numb when i woke updepending on how i died, or felt fatigued..just odd occurences
i have had that experience myself.i have been bitten so hard that i felt the pain.
everynight i take a sleeping medication that causes me to have dreams that vary greatly but when i awake they are very "real feeling" and sometimes i wonder if they are or were dreams but i have learned to distiguish the difference of the 2 and have had many experiences like the ones you speak of
I will have to agree with mrd on this one actually. I posted a while back about waking up in the middle of the night nothing being able to move and Requim suggested the sleep paralysis. I did some reading on the subject and there are cases where there are hallucinations.
Sleep Paralysis or the “Old Hag” is a phenomenon that is known in almost every culture in the world. It is a condition in which someone, most often while laying on their backs, just before dropping off to sleep or just waking up realize that they cannot move, speak or cry out. Once the person realizes that they are unable to move a whole gamut of hallucinations may occur. Some people swear that it was an “Old Hag” of a woman sitting on their chest holding them down or an alien sitting on them and holding them down or the devil with his helpers holding them down. Others say they felt crushed, smothered, or pushed into the bed.
It has been just recently, within the last 10 years, that researchers have begun studies about this bizarre condition. Some researchers at Waterloo University have done some of the most intense research on Sleep Paralysis (SP). They have found some interesting facts about the REM dream state. While we are dreaming in a normal REM state, our mind sends out a message to our body to cease our normal motor functions. Our muscles “turn off” in a sense, so that we do not act out our dreams. For some reason instead of following REM and going into a deep sleep state the person wakes up and regains consciousness but continues to dream. The paralysis is due to the failure of the brain neurons to “remind” the body that it is now awake so it is unable to move. Now the scary part is that the person is not only unable to move, but they are also “dreaming while awake”, a condition that is very confusing and frightening. The hallucinations that take over seem very real and they feel their lives are threatened.
There are two major types of sleep paralysis. One is called Common Sleep Paralysis and the other is Hallucinatory Sleep Paralysis.
According to most researchers nearly every adult will have an episode of Common Sleep Paralysis once every couple of years. Through targeted research they discovered that sometimes sleepers gain consciousness finding their bodies temporarily frozen. This temporary paralysation affects the gross motor functions and macro muscle groups of the body. This state lasts between fifteen seconds to a minute and is the most common duration. Though waking to this helpless state can be disturbing for the individual, it is perfectly harmless and fairly common.
A more terrifying condition to sleep paralysis is called the Hallucinatory Sleep Paralysis also known as the hypnagogic sleep paralysis and the Hag phenomena. There are three major differences between Common Sleep Paralysis (CSP) and Hallucinatory Sleep Paralysis (HSP). The first difference is that CSP is common and universal where HSP is rare and seems to be geographically episodic. The second is that CPS is of relatively short duration where HSP can last as long as seven to eight minutes. The third is a major difference in that CSP maybe unsettling for the sleeper but HSP can be horrible as it is commonly accompanied by a nightmarish hallucination.
There is some evidence that HSP seems to affect certain area of populations as if like an epidemic. A region that has had no HSP’s reported can all of a sudden have several cases reported. These areas can remain infected up to three years the most common duration is only a few months. There is no explanation for this as of yet.
The most outstanding difference between HSP and CSP are the horrifying hallucinations that accompany the paralysis. The source of the hallucination has often been attributed to the hypnagogic state (the state between wakefulness and sleep). An individual usually awakens either because they hear something or they feel something. The thing to remember is this occurs outside of a dream sequence plot. The individual is wide-awake yet paralyzed like in CSP. Moments after the person has awakened they are startled by a terrifying visual hallucination. The horrific form is usually a small malevolent creature that straddles the victim and attempts to strangle them or sit on their chests to prevent them from breathing. Most victims are convinced that the creature was trying to kill them.
