Thank you...then when I have question I can come to you?
Also I am willing to do readings...to help me learn...any victims? LOL
Anyone can learn to use Tarot cards, its all about finding your own interpretation of the cards. But i think it helps if you are in touch with the feelings of other around you if you are open and empathic to them!

There are different decks. Not every deck is right for someone. I myself have 3 decks. What will help you is to memorize the cards, otherwise you will be referring back to the book alot. Anyone can give a basic reading with the cards and the book, BUT a person whom has taken the time to learn the cards can give soooo much more of an accurate reading. :)
Practice practice practice..make sure you cleanse the cards..Just do what accompanying book tells u to do..if there isnt enough info in that book get another one that feels right to you to get a better understanding of how to use Tarot cards.
Practice is the key that is true and learning what the cards mean without constantly having to refer to the book makes a reading smoother and I've found makes more sense than stopping and starting. I have also found that some books for the cards are written in a way that is difficult for me to interpet. When I read a couple of other books giving the meanings it cleared it up for me so I'd suggest not using just one defination for the cards especially if you're having any trouble with one or two card meanings. Unless you are open to the emotions of the person you're reading for I don't think it can work very well.
You also need to be open to what the cards are saying to you. I have the Witch's Tarot and I found when I first got it the more time I spent with the cards the more intune I became to them. Just play with them, shuffle them, handle them, lay them out, pick them back up and start all over again...
i went through many diffrent decks before i found the one that was right for me.... and just like others have said with practice and patients you will better understand them.............
I would have to agree with everyone else in this thread. It is possible to teach yourself anything with enough determination and will-power. "Practice makes perfect."
Some tidbit I learned from the Bohemian lady down the street... forgive me if it's incorrect.
When I first got my own deck of tarot cards, I was told to keep them rapped in a silk cloth and sleep with them under my pillow so they become more familiar with you even as you sleep. I was also told that one shouldn't let others handle the cards, unless you are doing a reading for them in which case it is ok to let them shuffle and cut the deck.
yes queen you can... or you can ask anyone here who reads the tarot ... just remember that it takes practice.... as we all have said.... its practice that helps you learn them... your books also help you remember also to use your own intrupitation of what the cards tell ya.. good luck with your journey
Thank you everyone...I thought that I needed a special gift...in order to read them correctly....however studying the book...and really learning my cards is essentical...THANK YOU ALL !
the book is there to help you learn the cards once you becoe familura with them then you really don't have to use the book anylonger unless you want.... sorry for the misspelt words lol
I had a deck of the faeries for a number of years they are very good tarot to have if your the right person for them like all other tarot personal energies apply I now have a deack of vampire and I find them even better then the faery but that is my personal choice handle them and feel what they have to give energy wise is my best suggestion here
Yeah,I agree...practic makes perfect.
I had trouble with learning about the cards also.I got a kit with cards at a book store.
It took me an entire year to get things going..and going right.
Like all the gift is from within. You just need to learn how to tap into the power.
if you need any help let me know and I'll do my best to help you with your cards
FortunateFool
ive herd that to .... even did it...... but i think what makes you good is practice and finding what works for you........
I have that deck, and Bloodraven is right, its all about what you feel from the cards and how you interpret them. and to remember that cards flipped upside down have the opposite meaning of what they mean right side up.
Anyone can learn to use Tarot cards, its not so great knowing the futer but its good to find your self
okay heres the thing with tarot cards.... they do kinda give you somewhat of the future but its what you make of them... you decide and choose your own destiny... the darks only help you on that path... you must remember only you can choose your destiny noone or nothing else can....
Yes anyone can learn anything if they put thier minds to it. some just easier then others. I have been learning about Tarot for some years now and I still am not perfect at it I learn more each time i pick them up.
It takes time to learn cards, but it is worth it. You may also want to give a try at Runes. They are wonderful
id have to agree with the practicing and meditate before reading them se your mind and puzzle them in a form from like cross or star that should help.
sorry but ishta empathec has nothing to do with know how of reading tarot cards eh.
anybody can be taught my dear. If u have the desire to learn u will.tis not a hard thing to do, just a bit of pratcie.
just remember... use your own feelings on them...but let them guide you
they just came so natural to me it was kinda scary to be honest. once you get good at tarot try picking up a normal deck of cards and playing with ya mates hehe.
Yes, you can learn to use the Faeries Oracle without prior Tarot knowledge... You just use your intuition and the book, if you like/in the beginning to get an understanding of the author's intent for the card meanings. However, I will say that though this is a gorgeous deck, it can be quite overwhelming, and since it is an Oracle deck (not based on traditional Tarot archetypes) learning about reading Tarot won't help much with this deck. I would suggest reading the book, handling/"playing" with the cards, look at them daily, and just shuffle and read, writing down your initial thoughts about each card, then looking up the meanings in the book. Good luck to you!
practice. its all it takes. once you get the basic idea, it all comes in.
Two suggestions
1.) trust your insticts... the best way to do this is to read strangers and
2.) or if reading yourself or someone you know well... read the cards face down... and then flip them face up to see if you are right.
both of these suggestions don't give you the opportunity to second guess yourself. You can do a technical reading... but it is pretty much the same thing as a cold reading. Don't forget to relax and have some fun...
if your not sure about something you can balance what you say with something cold. Like... I see you spend a lot of time trapped in your thoughts... but sometimes I think you just want to cut loose ... footloose.
I agree with some of the posts above me, practice, practice, practice. Learn what each card tells you. Learn to feel as much as read.
Wow you ppl are giving me great advice..I appreciate this...Thank-you.
You have to season them.Wrap them in a royal color satin or silk cloth. Only you touch them. Take one card at a time and focus on it, meditate. Get into the card. Learn what the basic symbols represent and then afer a few days with one card. Go to the next.
If these are the cards you are going to use, then don't let others touch them. Your energy needs to be put upon them.
Yeah, all the old gypsy superstitions might help you connect to your cards. I know a couple of professionals that do that sort of thing... usually just the beginners. There's lots of different theories in regards to that, there is no real right or wrong, whatever makes you comfortable.
I don't do anything with my cards... but I use normal (not plastic coated) playing cards, however I am primarily a tasseomancer. I personally like a candle or maybe some Nag Champa burning, but sometimes you have to work a room that has a lot of distractions and there is nothing you can do about it.
I personally have not attempted Tarot as of yet...but from what I have read..as well as what others have written here, practice seems to be the key...as with any divination method.
I can't wait to let you all know how my progress is...and my first reading.
Thank you very much, keep them coming.
~Queen
you can learn anything if you practice with them.... the book is to help you learn what the cards mean but once you have a feel for them and you use your own gut feelings on them and all you'll have alot of fun with them....
Yes Queen you can! That is how I first taught myself! I don't remember much of it now! However I saw the 1st person I tried on years later, & everything was true for them! They basically learned on me & I learned on them! So far the reading they did for me did not come true luckily! lol I hope it is going well!
I believe anyone can learn how to read the tarot or regular cards, however, I do believe that you need to have the gift to really read the future in the tarot. You must have that sixth sense, be very perceptive and in contact with nature and your inner self, your sould and your third eye. It helps If you get your third eye open.
practice makes perfect keep it up and you will be doing it in no time
i have a little tip - it helps to get used to them if you use them to make up a story. either pick half a dozen at random, and try to weave a story around them - or think of a story, and choose the cards from the pack that best tell it.
Lots of great tips and advice here, I agree that anyone can use tarot cards, but I always make sure to purify my space and my cards both before and after every reading. I don't let anyone else use my cards and they only get to touch them if I'm doing a reading for them.
I do this to keep the cards free of others energy so that each reading is as pure as it can be.
All I do to purify my space and my cards is light some sage and cedar. Might be silly or superstisous, but I do what makes me feel better.
Oh yes..
Some people are just naturals when it comes to tarot cards.
And if you're not- don't worry- you just have to practice.
Anyone can read cards . You just have to study and practice . I have 2 decks the witches tarot so far is my favorite.
