it has been said that some have been told of an 8th chakra, what are your feelingins on this and do you believe that the 8th chakra is real?



I believe it is the one chakra that conects us to the universe and that ony a few people have the 8th chakra.

If there were an 8th I don't believe it would be limited. None of the other 7 are limited to a few people. But if it does exist then maybe only a few have been able to use and or activate it.

I am working with a person that knows how to open and activate the 8th chakra and we are having seccions to open mine it is a really wild experiance. thank you for your input

I think they are both interesting ideas, but would have to spend more time than I have right now to give a more in depth answer...

I think that those who can activate the 8th are exprerienced in the paranormal and in the release of energy, with a good training and also with skills, and most of all with an open mind, without limit as to what the person accept in this

That article is interesting. Apparently the 8th chakra holds your karmic residue. That would be a major breakthrough to lern how to clear that stuff away.

MY spiritual mentor says that the 8th Chakra is the gateway to your Self as it expands past this dimension. Thus, this Chakra is the last energy center that holds anything human within it. It, therefore, becomes the center of human cleansing and the releasing of patterns that are lifetimes old and worn out. These patterns are the last of what holds you to the reincarnation system and your humanness and keeps you from uniting with higher powers, beings, and ideas. When this center opens up, you not only begin to take on an awareness to this larger community of energies, but you begin to shed those patterns that have kept you rooted to the planet. This shedding is a natural process as once this center is awakened, the individual is ready to let go of his humanity and grasp onto something larger and divine.

If one is counting only the major chakras, then yes, the 8th chakra would be the one that is considered "disconnected" from the physical body.

I have often wondered about it myself, because the crown chakra at the top of the head is partially out of the body and connects us to the spiritual. Therefore, the 8th chakra is not the only one that connects us to the world of the spiritual.

I would be interested in more information about it, since I traditionally only work with the 7. An 8th could have intriguing uses in meditation and magick. I wonder what the 8th does for a vampire... if it's different... or even 'cut off'.

For all intents and purposes, I've always felt something else that's above the crown chakra, never beneath me. It always feels a bit faint, whenever I manage to pay attention to it, but then again, the bridge chakra between lower and upper suffers the problem that it's damaged in my system.

Maybe there is and maybe there isnt.. but I believe that if there is an 8th chokra then its not limited to one or few ppl.. everyone has it and just doesnt know it..

Im not sure if it will connect us to the universe.. cause if Im not mistaken the 3rd eye or 7th chokra connects us to our selves and the universe through medataion... although i could be wronge..

There are 12 Chakras.

The lower 7 have correlations with endocrinology, and are usually the only ones opened, while on earth, by most people. The upper 5 are not attatched to the body ad are usually represented by most pictures of the chacras as radiating outside of the body, like an aura.

Hmm, this artical also asserts a foot chakra as well, for a total of 13; however it still lables it as chakra zero, so the other chakra numbers do not change.

I had always thought or read there were 12, I just listed the 8 thru 12 as u had asked about the 8th one.
Perhaps I am misunderstanding yer question.

Chakra 12 - Connection to the Monadic level of divinity, advanced spiritual skills, ascension, connection to the cosmos and way beyond that.

Chakra 11 - Pathwork to the Soul, the individual's ability to acquire advanced spiritual skills travel beyond the limits of time and space, teleprotation, bi-location, instantaneous precipitation of thoughts, and sometimes telekinesis, astral travel.

Chakra 10 - divine or uppper level creativity, synchronicity of life; the merging of the masculine and feminine spirit within, unlocking of skills contained in the ninth chakra as listed below.

Chakra 9 - soul blueprint or fingerprint as some say;the individual's total skills and abilities learned in all the life times.

I actually had not heard of this until my friend read this before me. I really can't understand how posibly there could be. I am very interested to see where this goes.

Wildsorkid, I have to agree with you, as I have done some research also. I believe you and your mentor are correct in definition. Some people on these threads tend to be know it alls, take them with a grain of salt. Trust me, I'm a lot older than many on here and have a little more experience! lol Also, this is a wonderful topic for a thread!

The book "Chakrah Therapy" names 12, but it includes chakrahs between the feet, knees, one just beneath and behind the third eye (it locates the third eye in the center of the forehead and the other chakrah at the pituitary gland). Depending on what source you get your information from, there are any number of chakrahs.

It is somewhat believed that there are 7 chakras extending above the head in addition to the 7 we have in our bodies. I think it is a matter of being able to unlock these 7 "extra" chakras.

This is a fantastic thread I am new when it concerns learning about chakras and find this all a great learning experience, so thanks for posting this. It goes to show that I have so much to learn.
