Hopefully, this is in the right section.....

AT LAST, proof that we DO change with the Lunar cycle....
Unfortunately, YET AGAIN, it portrays the bad and never mentions the good! WHY is it that the NASTY people are always like that?

Anyway.... Research carried out by a Sussex (South of England) Police Department has shown a correlation with certain crimes and Full Moons!

It's a short article, but very interesting. You can read more HERE

and there is also a short video too.
It's 90seconds long, and has some good info!

you can view it HERE

Perhaps a Premium member would be kind enough to embed the video for us in a post herein? Pretty please?

What do you think about this article??

Personally, i think that they todays mainstream media is EXTREMELY behind with it's scientific knowledge of the Occult and Paranormal.
ESPECIALLY as this kind of thing has been documented for an eternity, sonce before modern medicine began.
EVEN to the point that the aniconic religions (Wicca and the like) have perfected the art of using La Luna as an ebbing flow of energy source!

Furthermore, i detest the way that they mock it, and also how they ONLY decide to mention the negative side of things, without even weighing up the good sides.

Reminds me of someone. Yeesh.

Working as a registration Clerk in the emergency room. I know that we all dread to see a full moon. I know there are probably some good things about it. However in my day to day life, the bad is more what I experience from it. People are just so different during the full moon. I don't know, maybe some can't handle the affects it has on them, so it ends up turning negative. Maybe the good does out weigh the bad, but personally I never see that side of it.

If you work at night (which I did do for three months a while ago). You can tell two things.

That start of the month and when it is a full moon. The extra weird people come out at those times (I mean a few that are weird for this place even).

So it is no shocker that crime would go up a little on a full moon. Not that it is the true weird doing it but as a different effect on people.

Since the full moon is rising the liquid in the body, it also increase the hormons which influence the mind the taughs and then the actions, tjat ether result in doing good or doing wrongs, the thing is that the wrongs leaves more trace then the good, as poeple are easier to remember and to influence by it.

Hmmmm, interesting information, however, I don't think the Lunar cycle has anything to do with it though. We are all in control of our own actions.

Whilst i agree, i also believe that the power of the moon exacerbates the moods in which we are, and has an effect on our actions.

For reasons unknown to me, I go through a change of demeanor during the full moon.

For the three days surrounding the full moon, I become unbelievably lustful, and my sexual appetite increases.

Does that make me some kind of lycanthrope?

Y'see, I don't get that way, per sé. I do get the urge to hunt, but not for blood. For me, I prowl for a sexual partner.

Like I said, I become very lustful.

If a lunar cycle can effect the ebb and flow of the tides, can it's magnetism also have an effect on other qualities of nature? I don't subscribe to the "full moon bad" theory. I just believe there is definitely a connection. (Bloody hell, I mean how old is the word lunatic?? Think they pulled that one out the clear blue? I never heard of a solartic--have you?)

"Reminds you of someone", eh? Pray thee tell, who does it remind you of, LunarWolf. Mentioning a story about lunar cycles and related crimes is all good and well, throwing in a personal jab towards someone at the end is a most unwelcome and immature thing indeed.

In regards to lunar-related crime, the moon affects us in many ways. If it manages the tides of the ocean, there is no reason it would not manage the tide of emotions within as well. This is one of the reasons I think that astrology works... only one celestial body in the immediate vicinity and it has immense impact on emotions and the cycles of the earth.

Anyone who works with the public for a period of time can tell you that people act strangely during a full moon. Not necessarily bad, though that's the view of the article. Perhaps they will continue the research and discover why. Aren't car accidents also on the rise during that time?

I wonder if there would be any link between the closeness of the moon and the pull of the gravity to the way people act. Maybe the off balance drives people to think and act differently.

does everyone suddenly go mad during a full moon? or is it just the LUNAtics?

Yes WynterMourn, Traffic accidents, Emergency room visits, crime, psychiatric hospital admissions and just plain weirdness is rampant during the full moon.

There have been MANY studies that show the correlation between a full moon and abnormal behaviours.

The reason the negative is so often focused on, I believe, is that John Q. Public doesn't really care is some folks senses are heightend, energy transferance works better, spells are more potent. All he gives a crap about is that some nut job might rob him, crash into his car etc. The negative things that people with no control of themselves do far outweighs the positive things that only benefit the aware.

there is no physical difference between a full moon, a crescent moon, a new moon, or a half moon - the moon is still the same size and shape. it just looks different. okay, maybe there is more light reflected off a full moon than a half moon, and light reflected off the moon is polarized - but apart from that there is no difference. the moon is not further away, or nearer - it is not emanating different energy levels - the moon itself is no different no matter what the phase. it is only our perception of it that is different. it is purely psychological - nothing more.

I do remember reading some scientific research on the lunar cycle and how it seems to basically control our behaviour and it was put down to the fact like the ocean the moon creates a kind of tide of emotion and thought in us because of the amount of water that our bodies are made up of. Unfortunately I don't have the article as it was in a magazine at the time many years ago.

But I have noticed how the moon phases evoke my emotions and thoughts. Full new moons I find it impossible to sleep and I am more irritable and testy. Full old moons I can be quiet and reflective. Leading up to a new moon I will be goofy and crazy... so I have seen it in my own behaviour and those around me so I know it to be true.

my apologies, but I cannot seem to get the video from the site... but interesting information. I know personally that I get more excited and intense during a full moon, I also menstruate during a full moon. So, I do not agree with us being able to have FULL control of our own bodies.. hehe. That one thing is something I do not have control over.. but, I believe that most of that is true. Sorry to be gross, but had to point that part out to prove a point.

Agree with the hunting in the full moon to see, but as predators we usually hunt in the clock of night. Is this lunar cycle arepresetation of TV and movies an the effect on lycanthropes. Or is there truth to the madness. I have afriend who is in the sheriff dept. and he claims more actions against the law and people happen at a full moon. I do believe it I some times is more irritable, and sometimes find my emotions are very heightened.
