Do you believe anybody can walk on water? and how do you think it is possible, if you think so? Explain the scientific reasoning behind your claim.
(Please read the Walking on Water: Scientific Reasoning, first before posting on this forum. If there any posts that are the same, or very similar I will try to contact an administrator, and I will attempt to remove your post)

Thank you!

I believe about the book that rosho speaks of.
It is possible but you have to broaden & expand your mind to the belief.
We can not have a scientific reason because we are not advanced enough to explain such matters.
Just because it can not be explained does not mean it is impossible.
It is all about how you balance your spiritual energy & force it to the bottom of your feet.
Just like a person can hover without help if he applys the same technique.

I do believe in the paradigm our mind affects the matter not the matter affects us.
Personally I don’t think it extends to that level… one would astral walk only

Two battleships assigned to the training squadron had been at sea on manoeuvres in heavy weather for several days. I was serving on the lead battleship and was on watch on the bridge as night fell. The visibility was poor with patchy fog, so the captain remained on the bridge keeping an eye on all activities.

Shortly after dark, the lookout on the wing of the bridge reported, “Light bearing in the starboard bow”.

“Is it steady or moving astern?” the captain called out.

Lookout replied, “Steady, captain,” which meant we were on a dangerous collision course with that ship.

The captain then called to the signalman, “Signal that ship: We are on a collision course, advise you change course 20 degrees.”

Back came a signal, “Advisable for you to change course 20 degrees.”

The captain said, “Send , I’m a captain, change course 20 degrees.”

“I’m a seaman second class,” came the reply. “You had better change your course 20 degrees.”

By that time, the captain was furious. He spat out, “Send, I’m a battleship. Change course 20 degrees!”

Back came the flashing light, “I’m a lighthouse.”

We changed course!

thats a paradigm shift my friend

I think walking on water is possible, but only in certain situations...Such as when there is too much salt in the water like in the red sea, the sea of galaly (sp), and a couple of others. Adonay was said to have walked on water, this was probably caused by the water having too much salt content within it.

That is a very good question Wolfkiller, you see...When high concentrations of salt are added to water, it gets very thick. When an individual walks through it, it gives the appearance that you are walking on it...Since the salt keeps you afloat, or at least up to your knees or waste. This would give the appearance in a storm to be walking on it. Such was the case of Adonay walking on the water during the storm.

Well it has been calculated that a human could "walk" on water if they were able to go 60 miles an hour. So I guess you could say that it would be possible to run on water if we were fast enough. Gotta love physics...

well back to the question as to if someone can walk on water.. I feel it is possible considering all the scientific things out there. I mean anything that generates enough air flow to create a hovering effect then a person may and can walk on water.

I mean technically the air boats /crafts of Florida in the glades and stuff actually glide across the top of the water so.. anything is possible. LOL

One when Jesus walked on water it was night time so the sunshine thing went right out the window.

The mind isn't yet fully explored who knows what we can do?

I believe it could happen yes that we could preform the same miracles if you wish to call them that as Jesus did he in his teachings said we were all able to access them. HE called himself the son of man aren't we all the sons and daughters of man??

Whether you believe or not our minds are only limited by ourselves out of fear possibly or being told all out lives we can only do this or that

Scientists like Doron Nof, Ian McKeague, and Nathan Paldorcan say it much better than I can.

"Lake Kinneret (the Sea of Galilee) is a small freshwater lake (148 km2 and a mean depth of 20 m) situated in northern Israel. Throughout recent history there have been no known records of a total ice formation on its top. Furthermore, given that convection requires an initial cooling of the entire lake down to 4 °C, it is difficult to imagine how such a low-latitude lake, presently subject to two-digit temperatures during the winter, could ever freeze. Lake Kinneret is, however, unique in the sense that there are dense (warm and salty) springs along its western shore. The dynamics of the regions adjacent to these springs are investigated using a one-dimensional nonlinear analytical ice model, a paleoceanographic record of the sea surface temperature of the Mediterranean Sea, and a statistical model. We show that, because the water directly above the plume created by the salty springs does not convect when it is cooled down to 4 °C, freezing of the region directly above the salty springs was possible during periods when the climate in the region was somewhat cooler than it is today. We refer to this localized freezing situation as ‘springs ice’.
The analytical ice-model involves a slowly varying approach where the ice is part of a thin fresh and cold layer floating on top of the salty and warm spring water below. During the ice formation process, the ice is cooled by the atmosphere above and warmed by the spring water below. The plumes created by the springs have a length scale of 30 m, and it is argued that, during the Younger Dryas when the air temperature in the region was probably 7 °C or more cooler than today, ‘springs ice’ (thick enough to support human weight) was formed once every 27 years or less. During the cold events 1500 and 2500 years ago (when the atmospheric temperature was 3 °C or more lower than today) springs ice occurred about once in 160 years or less. Since the duration of these cold events is of the same order as the springs ice recurrence time, there is a substantial chance that at least one springs ice occurred during these cooler periods. With today's climate, the likelihood of a springs ice is virtually zero (i.e., once in more than 10,000 years).
One set of those springs associated with the freezing is situated in Tabgha, an area where many archeological features associated with Jesus Christ have been found. On this basis, it is proposed that the unusual local freezing process might have provided an origin to the story that Christ walked on water. Since the springs ice is relatively small, a person standing or walking on it may appear to an observer situated some distance away to be ‘walking on water’. This is particularly true if it rained after the ice was formed (because rain smoothes out the ice’s surface). Whether this happened or not is an issue for religion scholars, archeologists, anthropologists, and believers to decide on. As natural scientists, we merely point out that unique freezing processes probably happened in that region several times during the last 12,000 years." Click here for the website I pulled this from.

Here is a truth. Everything is made of what? Atoms and subatomic particles. THere are a few other things out there but generally atoms. If you look at the density of things this is what makes things lighter or heavier. Another way to say it is how close the atoms are together or how packed they are. So in theory you should be able to place your hand through a wall the same as you put it through water. Likewise you should be able to change the density of water to create enough buoyancy to support yourself.

This is a load from a science standpoint and has a bunch of holes in it. But it is also pop science so gains in popularity.

well feel regardless how it happened people will believe what makes them feel best ... I mean i was raised with religion yet I was also taught all things of the world and people need something to believe in .. to have faith in something or someone and to travel back in time to prove the possiblity of things even that Christ did not walk on water *literally* could have a very devastating effect o the world as we know it. whether it be good or bad it would have an effect none the less so to me some things are better off left alone .. :)

Let's get away from the topic of religion, I thought of a way to walk on water, while going through the snow. I saw someone walking in snow shoes, it got me thinking, how does a show shoe work? It evenly distributes, the weight in your foot, to a wider area. I was thinking what if someone made something that evenly distributed the weight of your foot on the water.

I don't know as I don't believe in the one person mentioned and consider that just religious folklore. There could be something behind it that made it appear that this person was walking on water but I think it is just a story like a lot of them handed down with no basis in fact. I mean one would have to defy gravity in ways to stand upright in a lake but perhaps it is all in the mind as some believe.

Well, I am an ameature magician and I know that all the magicians of the past have used some sort of support. Glass, plexi-glass, wires etc. No special shoes of altered water. Also this is the type of thing that needs to be done on TV or viewed from a distance.

Before anyone brings up the Chris Angel thing again... I will bust the bubble. The other people you see in that stunt were IN ON IT. There you go. I ruined everyones fun. Sorry.

There is a lizard called the asilisk lisard but is often refered to as Jesus lizards because of its ability to walk on water. This almost miraculous act of walking on water is accomplish by generating forces with their feet that keep the lizards body above the surface of the water and upright.

@ Rosho,
The flash was not Marvel Comics he was DC Comics. But great image.

Outside of comic books and the bible, it can't be done.

There are many examples of humans walking on water other than the Bible and comic books. The Autobiography of a Yogi explained how it is possible for any human with a lot training and practice could potentially walk on water. One story of Leo Tolstoy had three monks walking on water catching up to a boat. There are plenty of stories and examples outside of the bible and comic books, of people walking on water. In movies also it's quite possible, (Bruce Almighty), but all of these examples are unproven except for the Autobiography of a Yogi, which only shows us how it is done.
