First off, Pandora has been my favorite so far. I dont know why, but I love the book with a passion. Coming in close second would be The Vampire Armand.
As for the movies, Interview was great, although it didnt follow the book word for word it was a wonderful piece of art and I still watch it over and over to this day.
I cannot however say the same for QOTD. As much as I loved the movie....it made me quite sad. Personally, I think that they should not have mixed the two books and made two movies instead. Also, I think they should have made the charaters more true to the books. Lets take Lestat for instance, his hair needed to be more blonde, closer to the color of the Lestat's hair in Interview. (Tom Cruise). And Another thing, where the hell was Mekare? She wasnt even in the film! That was an outrage. For my personal tastes the film was just to far from the book. For those of you who have the DVD please watch the deleted scenes and you will see that alot of great scenes were deleted. For example, a scene where all the ancients awake and meet again for the first time. I felt that this was a crucial scene for the movie. It was cut due to "to many agendas". I dont know, I think that the ancients needed to play a larger role. And Who the hell cast that old hag as Pandora!?!? She was supposed to be a beautiful woman, not an eye sore.
But a good thing about the film was Aaliah. I think she did a damn good job playing Akasha. She was one rotten bitch just like Akasha would have been, so that really sold me on liking the film. The Score was awesome as well. If you dont have it, and you liked the movie to a degree, I would suggest getting it, its very worth it.
So thats enough of my ranting.
