They are really getting on my nerves...almost every profile I go to read is completely filled with them...yeah there are some that are cool and interesting to take once in a while but do people actually think that the quizzes really say something about them?? I mean yeah they can be close to what you think of yourself but they dont tell the world you...Most people would rather here what you have to say about yourself rather then some little quiz thing...

yeah i know what you mean. its ok to have a couple i think but when its like all quizes its annoying. i look at profiles to look into a persons life and more and not to see quizes, i find other people interesting i love to read what interests them and how they live there life, but thats just me...

these days if a profile is all quiz garbage I usually won't even take the time to reate it at all
so if you want my rating....get creative

I like to take quizzes and I posted some but don't take them seriously.First of all I hate labels, second I hate it when someone judges me,Third and last I just take them for fun.I made some myself, and in the results I wrote to not take them seriously but just to have fun and not to live with labels.

I also think that most profiles have way to many of them.

As I look at quizes, it is not what the quiz says that interests me, but why the user decided to put that particular quiz in his/her profile. When there is more than just a handfull, I quickly lose interest. I would much rather see the person's own words describing his/her self.

Looks like I'll be changing my profile now when I come back tomorrow...

I agree, if I come across a profile with nothing but quizes (and I have come across them alot)I won't even rate them.....but I don't know if I am considered to have alot but oh well suffer, anyways I also hate being judged

I agree about the quizzes even though my profile has some. I put them because I didn't know how explain the person I am and figured they would say who I am. It didn' work out too well. I will be changing it because they do become annoying. Self-expression should come from you and not some random online quizzes.

I can understand seeing a few of them in with a profile, since the choice and the outcome have Some meaning (small as it may be.) However, I believe I saw a profile that had nothing BUT quizzes, or there were so many compared to what he/she wrote, the quizzes were over-bearing. After a couple minutes of quizzes, i'll scroll down and give them a 1, 2, or 3 depending on how much Actual profile there is.

Alot of people have a hard time trying to describe themselves to a new group of people, so the quizies are a way of attempting to introduce yourself to others. So long as they are accurate. Once a person is on the site for a time most people begin to weed out the quizes and add more about themselves. I too am not a fan of the quizes, they were nice in the beginning when i didn't know anyone or how to describe how I thought or talked or was.

But the quizes are no different from the ones that just say "If you want to know more just ask" or any other comment like that and there is nothing there. Every now and again you come across a quiz the noonw else has done yet, but for the most part most everyone has the same ones.

But think on this, there are others who have been here alot longer then some of us, imagine how they have felt. These sentiments are no different then I'm sure they've thought all along. To break the cycle one must only ask, in your comment you can simple request more information about the person, and can do so in a polite manner.

In the long run noone can please all the people all the time, but everyone can please some of the people some of the time ....

well put dami, as you know I will continue to upgrade my profile , one of the things that I am working on is talking about myself how I feel about the world around me and why I have become what I am without the use of a quiz!

I think some people put quizzes in because they dont know what else to put. I have occasionally done the quizzes, but I would never post them on my profile.

I get bored with quizes. The one quiz I do like to see is what Vampire Clan do you belong too. WHen person first starts out Its cool to throw a few up there that mean something to you. When time goes on make your profile about you. Let it reflect who you are and your personality. Quiz pics are very cool somtimes but, sometimes the description is rather boring.

I agree, the quizzes are a bit overrated and overly used, but some of them are just fun to have in your profile-- at the end, after all the real information.

Even intermixed with a persons information. I think the ones where people post a quiz and then sort of explain why or how that particular quiz relates to them is good too ... but just a bunch of quizes and nothing else, does get old

LOL I should make some kind of a quiz about needing a support group for this place... hehe

Dami is excluded from the quiz we already know she needs help. her double post scream it!! hehe

A couple of quiz results here and there are interesting. But yes when they fill their entire profile with just quiz results it isn't entertaining at all. I try to scroll down and search for bits that they actually wrote themselves hehe. It's hard.

I agree with Dami. I was one that had nothing but quiz results for a profile. But since then I have updated my profile and moved most of them out of the main profile. Sorry for you all that don't like the results. To you they may mean nothing but to some it's how they feel or felt. I at first felt left out like a dog in the street that has to dig threw trash to find it's food and shelter when it once was a dog in a nice warm home with love.

It isn't just the new users who post quizzes in their profiles. Myself, I found that the quizzes are fun to do and I wanted to share the results. The personality questionnaires are fun because they ask questions people want to know about. These things go through our inboxes all the time.

The folks that put quizzes up don't lack originality if they show themselves in their answers. If you find them boring, sorry, and thanks for letting us know. But don't expect > 50% of the membership to get rid of their quizzes.

Do more than just rate someone low for posting a quiz. Suggest something in the comments. Tell them they sound cool but you would like to know more. Drop 'em a msg to say Hi and chat with them to get to know them.

There's some really awesome people here if you take the time to get beyond just rating their profile.

as for me i dont have any in my profile but i have done some of them

Some people just don't have much to say about themselves ( like me ) so they put in a whole bunch of quizzes.

i like my quizs that i post in my profile they do say some things about me that are true but ppl who reads them know that we post them for what we can't say or put in words so the quizes help with that and it not like iam saying that iam the person in the shadows waiting to pounce u but i do have some ways of my quizes talk about so don't get mad if i don't take them off just read it and see rate me or not just know my profile is me and srry if i ofend any one by not telling a story about me but that as close as i can get

well its there profile in my opinion and if they want them they can but there should be a limmet on them

(yes i kno i have a ton but im planing 2 get rid of them because the pics are not showing up)

i have three thier vampire related and their not the vast mejority of my profile

so thats what i look for

I myself have taken a couple of them ,I didn't try to go over the hill with them but some do tell you about the person

It's cool to have maybe one or two interesting ones, but loads of them is boring and crap. Especially 'what kind of vampire are you?' cause every bloody person has done that one. I understand that quizzes are good to do when you're bored, but not everyone needs to know what flavour pie you are.

Only quizes = low rating.. Simple..
If you put 2 or 3 quizes, and tell something about yourself, it's ok I guess.. But just only quizes.. Thats not fun :P

I personally have never liked those quizzes. most of them are just a few questions, they are usually very predictable and i don't think if i were to use them. they would tell anyone about ME

Quizzes don't belong in a profile anymore. They've been overused. So even if you were one of our early members who had 'em first... You're better off removing them... You'll only be associated with other users who do nothing but fill their profile with quizzes.

Quizzes belong in a Journal.

i especially don't like the quizzes like

"what type of cutter are you?"

it could just offend or upset people. and it's put on profiles by so many it's right there in peoples faces.

I have a couple, mainly for comic value more than anything, for instance which CareBear I am :-)

However, it is impossible to find out anything from a person from a quiz, except they have put it there to give that particular image of themselves.

Quizzes belong in your journal or portfolio. Profile is for you to talk about yourself, likes and dislikes, etc...

i agree even tho there are quizzes in my pro i do tell about myself a bit in my pro so at least i know its not all quizzes. i do em for the pictures...lol ill just take out the quiz link and keep the pic. I guess its time to update the my good ol' pro ;-)

i think everyone should just let others have what they wish to have on their profile. After all, it's theirs. Don't like it? go on to the next profile. It's quite simple. *winks*

OK, Cancer, I see your point, and agree. So then the Profile is the one-shot, first impression about a user. The Journal is the day-to-day exposition about a user.

P.S. The story in your journal is very good. I hope you do continue to write the novel. Believe me when I say, I know how hard it is to set aside the time to work on it. I usually only do so when the muse stares me down and smacks me around with an idea.

Quizes are getting well overused. So, yeah, take them out of your profile and use the results to use in yuor profile, i'm the only one on here (as far as i know) who has changes the text and pictures in my quiz results to fit it into my person...... I'll glady pull the links.. **evil grin*.. it's all about being creative... some peole are born with little, but everyone can learn.. you dig?

I have a few quizes in my pro but i've tucked them away in my portfolio because it is anoying to open a profile and be hit in the face with them all, but they're there if people do want to see them.

i have some quizes.... but i mostly put them cuz they have pretty pictures with the results... i put some poetry on too, so yeah... idk message people and let them no, mayb word will spread
