Would you like to be a vampire?
Realy...think about it...
Would You give up all the beutifoul things...the sunrises, the sunsets, summer on the beach,everything that is happening during the day...give up pets...and I don`t know a billion of other things...

All things in life have some pros and cons..
But for me to bea Vampire immortal has less pros than cons.
As you said, theres so much great, beautiful adorebla things and events in life of people...

i could never give up my right to walk onto the bright green grass barefoot and wiggle my toes in its wet warmth while the sun kisses my skin and the wind greet my skin, no... i dont think i would give this up, and if i were a vampire the moment alone would be worth the death. but hey! im no vampire! so i do it and enjoy every moment of it...

Yes sad maybe I think not though but I've done all the above for 20 yrs anyway whats a lifetime in darkness this time I could do more though and you can still see sunset's and all................TV lol but I would give it up no prob :)

Oh yeah Many...And lying under the tree, looking up as the rays of the sun go over the green leaves, tickeling you on your body....

i've always wanted to be one but a part of me is pulling my shirt and go back. sometimesiwonder howis it not see the sunlight anymore and freak out once it comes..what is it to be dead and undead at the same time...to be with the live 'uns and fool them...at the same time feeling separated..to feed just blood....well, once you inside the dark room..there'sno turning back....but what it is to try and become a vampire forever anyway. whoknows???

...to give up a looong wallk trough a forest, walking trough intact snow in the winter, watching everything grow at spring, enjoying the sade in the summer, watching all the coloures in the fall... i realy dont know...all these things vs eternaty? well...i would give myself some time to enjoy my life as a mortal and than go to the darknes...

I think that If Id do that....erm I imagine the immortality as neverending sleep. Its just a dream bad or good I dont know, but sure a dream, because youll be missing so much things as u miis while sleep.

I could never become a vampire...Im different enough as it is...I don't need people trying to drive a stake through my chest. The immortality alone would drive me insane....plus killing others so that i may live? to selfish of an act.

Then there is that whole sunlight thing, to never see nature in the light, the beauty of a spring rain to enjoy the crispness of the air in the middle of the day, walk along the beach watching the shimmer of the water, or to gaze upon a woman in the sunlight as she smiles at you. NAH Ill stay human...

A lot of this would depend on which vampire mythos you went by.

A romantic Anne Rice kinda Vamp??? hell yeah I would be one for sure ....Bram Stoker Drac kinda vamp??? sure for deffinate ...Saun Manchester idea of a vamp ..nah not so much lol .....still there are things i would love to see on this planet ...but if i were given the choice this second ..vamp /not vamp ...I would go vamp no questions no second thoughts Vamp me baby!!!!! .....lol

there are way too many factors for me to decide, firstly there are many different myths on what becoming a vampire would entail. even then i'd still be sceptical about those facts.

i couldn't think about considering it until it came along. and i don't think to be honest that i could make such a decision on my own

i belive i could b/c i can't go out in the sun with out dark sunglasses b/c i get such skull piercing migrains

i think that i could give the day time up. I mean there is alot to do at night time aswell clubbing and that sort of thin. For me i am quite fond of the stars so going to the lake at looking up to the sky would be good enough for me.

It all depends on what a 'real' vampires life is like. We cannot believe all we read and hear.

I think it would be nice but theres the pros and cons of it too. and theyb all differ from one person to the next. i know that for me i would eventusualy be sick of living for so long. but it would be nice to see how this world would change over the years.

*I could give up the sun no problem ... as I'm already allergic and break into blisters (hives)
*I could give up grass ... I've never felt it on my feet as I hate feet, but it does itch my hands.
*I could give up delious foods .. I only eat lots now cuz I haveta .. but who's to say vampires can't eat food?? do you know one personally, are you positive they cant have any?
*I give up my pets every few years already concidering they stagger in ages and I know they don't last forever
*I could give up nature and colours no problem as well ... thats what paintngs are for :) Also if you become weary of the the night put up HUGE baseball stadium lights to enjoy :)

I think I'd be more interested in becomeing a vampire only becuz of the hunt *smirks*

i think if it came down to it i probably would because for me it would have more pros than cons....

This is one of those situations that I think I would have to be put in to make a choice. Because like everyone is pointing out, you don't know what a "real" vampire's life is like. For all we know, they could just be normal people with the exception that they crave blood and age very slowly. Or they could be the type like in the movies, all the gore and killing to make themselves feel. Who knows?

don't like the taste of blood so if I was a vampire I would die of starvation ;)
I really can be an energy vampire though, but I think you will never feel that, because I would never do it to you, as you know already ;)

Yes this world is here at night as well as durring the day you can do anything you want at night just like the day I dont like the sun anyway so It is no hard thing to give it up as for anyting else you have to give up like pets vampires have pets and extra gifts to keep them company...

yeah... being alive's great: u live in a weak, painfull, mortal body, you can c that eyes hurting sunrise, and much more...

I believe an eternity of personal discomfort in return for the chance to positively effect mankinds evolution is worth it.

if i couldn't eat my normal food too, and if i couldn't be in the sunlight, then no. otherwise, i would glady take it, i have tasted fresh blood before and i found it quite good so that wouldn't be an issue.

missing the fresh crisp air of the morning just as the sun is rising, that is a rare treat for me and i love it so much that if eternal life would take it from me, the F#@! forever.

I will give up sunrises for sunsets any day...

Wiggling your toes in the sand and feeling the sun on your skin is only luxury for a while, then it becomes a chore. Like the rest of life. Personally i am a nightime person, so yeah, becoming a vampire would be ideal.

No, i want to grow old, watch my body fall apart have the hospital my new hom,e and have more medication than the chemists.. have to rely on other people to look after me, get grief of old kids and be scared to leave the house...

i think that if i were in the same position as gabrielle from anne rice's stories. if i were nearly dead anyway, and ive had a life and the gaurentee of companionship, then i would. but to never walk in the sun? to never again feel the morning light? or to sit in a tree and see the shadows on my skin.. i would miss that greatly..

I have trouble with sunlight as it is hehehe It hurts my eyes. As long as I could be somewhere where it's warm at night I would be happy.

i would feel for any living being having to give up something in order to be what they are. I just can't see any being not able to do the things as any normal human can. If they truly do exist like that, i can only imagine how hard it would be. I personally wouldn't want to be one myself because im satisfied with who and what i already am.

All humanoids kill to live. Be it plant animal or human bug or microbe. It is still killing.
If people follow a simple rulle if you kill it you gotta eat it then the world would be much more peaceful place

like i said in another similar thread: don't beleive what you see in the movies and read in books!So it depends what a real vampire is.Didn't you think that a vampire would be only an individual who is definately human but just drinks blood?And can resist to the sun etc?And what's in the movies and books are only bullsh*t?If it depended on night life, yes I would like it.I like nightlife but also day life.Everything has it's pro's.If you want to read a good book about the truth of vampires read Vampires of Konstantinos.I didn't read it yet, but a friend of mine suggested it and said there are really interesting things.Well am not saying beleive the book just read it and then make an opinion about it.I will read it sometime but am still very skeptical.In the meantime I'll continue with my dreams about vampires....

ive read that book before and there is are some good viewpoints mixed in with the myths of vamps too. Not a bad read.

You don't know how it would be until you tried it and when you are one you don't think about it, you live it. We, from human position, can't see all the aspects of being a vampire so we can't know if we would like it or not.

And good point WAngel! You don't find it out if you are something! I never heard of a human vampire, so you must decide: you are a human or a vampire, and if someone can make you a baby and if you must eat food then sorry, you are a human! (you may possess vampiric abilities though, but that still doesen't make you a vampire, and all of us here are still humans no matter how hard we try to act as vampires!)

i don't know. but at night there are some pretty wonderous things in the night sky. so i really don't know if i could give that up. thats a tuffy. i am really gonna have to ponder that. i'll get back to you when i know.

would i bcome a vampire? as i little girl i had always wanted to bcome one. it just felt right... yes the downside is to see everything you love die,but also u can be there when new and beautiful things are born. no i wouldnt want to be hunted ,but i would try to co exist with humanity, or die trying.i really wouldnt miss the sun too much. as a vampire i wouldnt kill for food, i would only take what i need to survive. which i think in a way, is not to much different from being human. but thats just my opinion.

A curse you say. To live a mortal life or to live an immortal is a curse. Would it matter if you lived the night life. We spend most of our living during the day. Sleep the night away. So who is to say that the night is better. Yeah you all state the sun, green grass, etc etc etc. That is the only light you see. At night you got city lights the moon light when the night is full. The cool breeze of the night. There is a lot of things you can do during the and alot of things you can do at night this is why it's called the balance of life. Ok...this thread is based on the vampire myths..(like not being able to be exposed to light, crosses, not being able to set foot inside a church, all vampires drink blood, are the undead, and being immortal which the true vampire is NOT)...considering the fact I just found out that I am infact a vampire...doesn't really seem to bother me. Not all vampires drink blood but they all drain life energy or chi or prana from living things just not by the same means. No vampires are not the undead yes you can see our reflection in a mirror, and no we cannot shape shift, fly, or turn into mist....

i myself would sell my soul to be a vampire i would do anything give anything to be a true blue vampire i have thought about this for years and years...so hell yeah

I cannot be in the sunlight as it is, and cannot be out during the summer because the heat affects some medical conditions I have...so I could give that up...I could really give it all up as most aspects I've already well grown accustomed to..I would in a heartbeat, all in all.

i mean, ive been in chats to where people approach me saying, i think you're a vamp, or i think you're fae, or i think you're a dragon, or a witch, and the list goes on. Point is, people are going to perceive you however they feel you are, doesn't mean they are right or wrong. But only I know who and what i am and i have to say that a lot got it wrong. I might carry some of the "traits" that you feel but that doesn't mean that's what i am. *shrugs* You can't go defining yourself based on what people think you are. You have to find that for yourself.

I love the sun, I am sure after a few weeks without it I would be so depressed. I would however like to be a vampire for a month or so... and maybe if it could provide me with enough fun to make up for the lack of sun, I may even choose to stay one.... I think you should get a test drive first.

I don't know about a test drive. I think that is a choice that is one and not taken back. But I think that the hardest thing that ppl would have to get past is the killing of ppl to get their blood. I've never killed someone so taking their life to preserve mine is a natural instinct but still the conscience would get me. Telling me that what I did was wrong. Then, of course, the instinct would kick in and I'd have to kill again to live. Gotta take the bad with the good.

So I got used to it missing those things.........

Moonlight walks outside.
The beach at night.
A quiet and peacefull world.
Mystery of the night.

I find that the sunlight drains the enrgy out of me anyway, I do much better in the dark and shade, as I feel a bit more energised.

I think it entirely depends on your lifestyle already.

If you were a vampire, that doesen't mean that no other vampires would exist! That's for soltitude problem!
For example, you are a vegeterian and meat makes you puke, would you need to eat meat? Or do you need to touch fire when you know that is not a plesant feeling and that'll burn your skin? YOU DON'T NEED AND DON'T MISS SOMETHING THAT HAS A BAD EFFECT ON YOU!!! So you wouldn't miss food or the sun and all that you now think you would miss when you were a vampire!

There are a lot of factors that I would have to consider. Can I take my wife with me? What about my 3 daughters, is that was is right for them? Could I become one on my death bed, or do i have to make the choice now? IT sounds good, but..........................................

I feel more comfortable at night, darkness surrounding Me and comforting Me. Sunrises and sunsets are beautiful and the beach is one of My favorite places.. but the beach is wickedly splendid at night and I like the stars more than sunrises or sunsets. So, I would.
