The Ultimate Vampire Resource and Directory

I am fairly new to this site, and have been looking at members profiles. Many of them claim to be vamps, blood drinkers, or into vampirism. But upon speaking to many of them (ones who claimed to be vamps, or blood drinkers) you find out who their own admission that that is not true. And in fact when mentioned (donors, blood drinking) the same members seem almost appalled, and very dismissive of the whole thing. I was just wondering if anybody else has noticed this.

Yep i have, I've never claimed to be a Vampire, even in my profile I do believe I say that, but that I have an intrest in Vampire's and the history. Which is the main reason why I joined this site, to learn more from others. As i am sure many others have too. But I agree, there are some who claim it, try to talk like they are, but when it comes right down too it they act rather skitish about it, or really don't even know what they are talking about.

all i make claim of is I am not a sanguinary.....
I do however tend to leech of those around me energy wise.....
part of why I like going to the club...lots of peeps in good moods....that really does affect it for me.....I like good moods...as I tend to mirror and ever amplify the moods around me when leeching

Im neither a vamp nor a blood drinker, though Im interested in mysterious things like vampires, similar as Dami said.

Well, one thing we should all remember is that there as many diffrent kinds of vampires in the world as there are predators. kinda hard to count really. The word "Vampire" is like the word "Human". Just because i dont look or act exactly like everyone else doesn't necessarily mean im not human, right? Blood Vamps are fewer and farther apart than they use to be, for obvious reasons. I think that I am becoming more an more of an energy vamp with a hint of bloodlust, which comes out in the most inopertune times. Anyway, I think we all have some form of vamp in us, some are just confused on where they are in their life (or unlife as it were).sometimes we all need a little help finding ourselves. This site , to me, is kinda like a support group. boy that sounded needy :)

It is everywhere... out of the (nearly) 1000 profiles i've rated many claim to be vampires.

i don't believe any of them. and here's why.

The strigoi vii is as far as i know the biggest vampire related... hmm... what to say... it's like a religion but not. they have fathers and call feeding communion.

Basically the code the strigoi vii have is basically to trust people before telling them what you are.

there are a lot of people in this world. If the ratio of humans to claimed vampires was to be true to real life as it is here...

"Real" (and i say that because i still always doubt till proven wrong) vampires know what they are and know what would happen if the secret got out.

I see where you guys are coming from. I myself don't claim to be a vampire, or a blood drinker of any sort...I come here because I wanted to learn from others what a vampire is to them. Because from the image that has been planted in my head by movies and the sort, I saw them as creatures who roam the night, can't face sunlight, stakes and crosses and all that. But from what I have learnt (and I have learnt a lot), there seems to be many interpretations of what it is. Who is to say which is the 'real' one. So, perhaps, those who claim to be vamps, are vamps, in their own perception. They may not be real to you, but to them, maybe it is.

How does one respond to this topic on a site devoted to vampirism? Do they exist? Some will agree and others will disagree. Many books have been published on this and I guess it all comes down to what you believe. Have I met a REAL VAMPIRE? No. Do I think I am one? No. Does the topic interest me? Yes.

Knowledge of the unknown has a mystic about it.

I'm just interested in the whole vampire culture. Never said I was one. I believe saying that you are 2000 years old when you are 14 is sort of ridiculous. Just my opinion.

I think when people sign up they think its a role playing game site. So they go and make thier profile like the character they are going to play. For some people this place is like a fantasy land for them. To think of who they want to be and act it out.

As for the blood drinking topic.. so I drink it no. For one reason, I have no found someone that I choose to be that close too. For me its a special thing to share with someone. Not to just run around drinking from everyone.

I leech onto energy as well. I always have.

I also joined because of my fasination of Vampires and the history. Plus I really like the forum. I just dig the site all together.

I do think that you have a point. Although Im sure the thread will ruffle a few feathers :-)

Ive never claimed to be anything Im not. Im very similar to Daermon in the way I go about these things, but I have participated in blood drinking, and it has effected me in quite a big way. Im also very interested in things such as the Scrolls of Elorath and the Black Veil... but Im more interested in HLV's than being exuberantly fantastical...I dont go around claiming to be an immortal, souless creature of the night... Im also a vegetarian :-)

CountessMoon has a point, a lot of people think this is an RP site, or may be trying to impress. I also get the impression that some (not ALL) of the members see ti as more of a 'Goth United' site then anything else.

Im comfortable on my standing with vampirism... that its a big part of my life, but its nothing to lie about, or shove in peoples faces. Hope that helps x x

The word *Vampyre* does strike a certain response. However that response is based on society's view as a whole. Set that aside and you will find that any legend, myth, story or tale has a basis in fact somewhere. Vampyre are known throughout history and many different cultures. The word * feed *can be defined many different ways all based on interpretation by the individual. There are also psychic ablilities inferred in this connection with Vampyre. I posted a thread regarding how the word Vampyre is spelled and pronounced in different languages. But to answer you query Ghost , I agree there are a lot of *people* here who talk one way and present another...

Became addicted means that you can be "cured" from addiction and you would probably survive that. You can't make a vampire to not drink blood!

I am a bit like daermon. I feed on energy not very vampirish except i tend to feed on both possitive and negative energy i possitive energy makes me happy but it drains so easily but dark energy as in hanging around depressed people seem to make me stronger in a wierd way and it lasts longer. I claim not to be a vampire but someone whose been sort of a loner a reject from every social group really. I don't even know if i fit in here I am just here because of a few who has come to accept me for what i am. I was thinking about posting a similar post

Defining the word/meaning to vampire is always going to be different meanings to different people as they perceive them to be. To say that a vampire is human....might as well say they don't truly exist.

Some people just like to say they are to be cool.

I think all vampirism is a neat philosophy and idea that some brilliant person came up with. I realize some people do drink blood and like to have the persona of one, but I dont think anybody can be immortal.

I do not bleave that a real vampire would take the time to relate to the pitiful world of the human pleasures, so of course there are no real Vampires here. Many people like to role play on the Web because no one can see you, know where you are, or see what you are really doing. So basically the Internet is a way of reinventing your self that you wish to be true. I admit that I also like to role-play at times and have always wished to be a Vampire. But I dont think there is any thing wrong with it as long as you dont take it too far.... >; )

in response to some of these..gorey...the only type of vamp that would overpopulate and wipe out the human race is the type generally only associated with hollywood.
I have met a few sanguins who thought they had to drink as much as they could...most of the time they just end up sick to their stomachs....we dont digest blood well...you seem to only beleive in one variant on what a vampire is.....
rather closed minded in a world built on infinite variable possibilties...

no one here that i know of is clamin to be anythin more then who they see that they r and all though u r correct in ur observing that some people r not vamps or blood drinks that does not stop them from either having intrest in it.. were different walks of life from all over the world who have somethin in common, if it be intrest in the darkness, feelings, vamps, etc... its could go on and on but we all feel comfrotable talk to each other and intrusting at least some things we wouldn't intrust in others b/c we feel mroe comfrotable with each other. i hope this makes sence cuz i think i can say this is a big post even for me

I did my fair share of blood drinking as a teenager but never considered myself a vampire. I was more of a goth. I do find vampires facinating though.

i would say there's not a vampire in here at all unless there are people that steal energy to suffice their own to SURVIVE.

so let them pretend who are we to take that away from them it may be all that they have going for them. let them pretend they are not hurting anyone....i hope...

Hmmm not as many real vampires here as I think? At best I can think of one or two stereotypical vamps and more than a few psi vamps.
Personally I am myself and that is about it.

All that I am saying is this, if you don't drink it, don't say that you do. Somebody might just start talking to about it. And then wonder why you're getting all freaked out. Everybody here is who they are, and well accepted as such.

Noticing that there are not really 'real' vamps here. Hmmm. I could comment on the fact that people will say they do do all the things they 'think' a vamp does, for many reasons. Mostly to fit in and to get attention. Also many people confuse 'goths' for 'vamps' as well.
I will offer you this. I have probably offered myself more here in this forum than I have anywhere else, even my home lurk.us. I love my security and privacy for a million reasons.

Let me ask you something, bypass the ones that scream they ARE, and look a little closer at the ones that do not. Am I? Would I honestly answer that?

I will offer this to you. I have drunk blood. I have done the psi, but do not depend on it. I have learnt the whole elemental, and again don't depend on it. I have hunted in my dreams, and again don't depend on it. There are greater ways to feed, more ways than many realize. No there is not a label on it. Sorry.

If it is solely important to label, is real, is not real..............then here's your sign. Again we enjoy it collectively, as the romance, the horror, the excitement, away from the norm.

I am not a vampire, I do not even want to be one, but I do find them to be very interesting, and beautiful and I want to know all about them. But even when looking at the polls and such you can see that not that many people here really want the life of a vampire with all its glory and sorrow.

i have noticed that too, i belive it its fine to use this site if you are ont a vamp but not if you are against vamperisum, i my self joined this site befor i was a vamp but i am now, i have never been against vamperisum in any way shape or form, i join at first because of a love of vampire books and films.

I know what you mean. I'm pretty new to the site. I never claimed to drink blood, i'm not saying i never will, because vampirism interests me (the real thing anyway) Why say you're something that you're clearly not ? If you don't drink blood and you know it, why not just admit it ?

I have noticed that people aren't always truthful about being a true vampire, however, I like it here at VampireRave. I hope that people are more honest and that when you say you're something you have the proof or at least some evidence to back yourself up.

Daermon, I totally agree with your point about life forces. I think its important to look past the instant ascociation with vampires and blood, as there is energy all around us in many different forms.

Putting labels on things is a way of life. But what is a label? Nothing but a label and a way to fit in.

This site is dedicated to the history of vampires and a place where it can be discussed openly without any labels or judgements. I know alot of you will disagree with the way I stated this, but I know no other way to say it than just say it plainly. Everyone here has enjoyed this site.

So my question is, Why do you want to label anyone or anything ( no pun intended)?

vampiric in essence is simply parisitism....
to be a parasite....there are any number of ways in life to be a parasite......hell we are parasitic on our own mothers during our fetal stages....so in essence we are ALL vampires in nature...

That is true... quite a lot of people on this site claim to be something they're not. I'm not putting them down for it though. Some may be telling the truth. ^_^ Though I'm sure that's definately not the case for all. But hey, if your human, most humans wish to be something more, something different. i do claim to be a rebirth, a vampire that passed into a mortal frame again; i do stick to my story, but I also believe a true vampire would never show his nature on here. The ones who state they are think that how to get friends here. I accept a person for a person, not who they pretend to be. In reality, I would be suprised if we actually have more than 5 real vamps in here, maybe 55 rebirths, and the rest are posers, or people who admit to being lovers of the vampire lore.

I am facinated by the world of vampires though. who hasn't grown up with stories of them.

I have seen some trends about being donors and blood drinkers that are not true. I have come into the rave to see and learn. My profile is a story line to some it sounds true to the smart ones it's just a story. I have been a donor and I have had some donors but it don't make me a vamp. I like the taste of blood especially mine. So to all don't believe every word writing here !!

Okay I agree with everyone on here. I have been on rave a very long time and all I did was try to find a real vampire......I do NOT claim to be immortal because I'm not I AM a psi vampire, I didn't realize until two months ago.....I have a family of immortals but I wish to keep them secert for obvious reasons. I agree with every word that had been said. I think we try to make ourselves look or seem like vamps, because of our obseession with them. I do nod claim to be a vampire, in any means, but i do have plenty in common with the undead, like my allergies to the sun, and my obssession with blood.
