heres an idea to tickle your pickle.
when a person dreams, and they wake from their dream, the dream ceases to exsist. hints forth, its dead. now what id i asked: what if we were part of someone elses dream, a bigger being, or even another humans dream. and they wake, is that how people die? another person wakes from theyre dream? whats your thoughts?

lol. wow, got me stumped on that one. lol. i suppose that there is a very very VERY small possibility that that cud be. i have had dreams about ppl dieing. some i faintly knew and others i have nvr seen b4 in my life. and then a while later i hear that they have died. it scares the shit out of me but it has happened. i personally think its just coinsidence but idk

I don't believe there's a correlation between the two at all. Dreams are just subjective experiences of imaginary images, sounds/voices, words, thoughts or sensations during sleep. A lot of the time formed from what occurs during our day, thoughts we have going on in our head (either consciously or subconsciously), or interpretations of what our psyche thinks we should do with what's at hand. http://www.dreams.ca/ is a good site to learn more about dreams. for the ppl i have nvr seen b4 eccept in my dreams, i only recognize them cuz i end up seeing them in a newspaper or television. thats how i recognize them from my dreams

When I was a child I had an obsession for a while, that I was the dream of someone who had been in a coma, for the amount of years I had been alive, and I was helping keep them alive as something to focus on, but I knew I would die when they awoke.

So yes, I dont knwo if I actually blieve it now, but i do think that its a fascinating thing... and quite scary!

I don't think there is a connection between the two. Just like the old saying "If you dream of your death then you will die" that is not true. So dreams are just dreams. Some people remember them and some don't.

I never tought dreams and death are connected in that way, i do think that when we dream we are closer to the other side... but i have one idea...

I saw a mouvie, i forgot what it was called...it was a lonf time ago...in witch every night they changed all the lives of the ppl in the city, i mean the memories and all.. Think of it, one day you are a teacher of geography, with four children and a wife at home, and the neht day you are a stripper in a club...and ofcourse you dont remember your past ocupations, relationships, actualy you remember nothing...

Very interesting indeed. I remember having a conversation with my father about humanity, and he refered someone's thaught about we, human race, being a dream of some God.
It's a very intriguing subject for me. I don't know where I read this, but there was a man who said:"I drempt I was a butterfly...Am I a man thet drems to be a butterfly, or a butterfly dreaming to be a Man?"
I don't think it's directly related to death, but I think I understand what you mean: If I dream an entire life, and when I wake up I have an etirely different life (there are documented cases about this - I guess is called paramnesia), if one of my lives dies in the dream, who is really allive? Is a part of me missing? I could go on and on rambling about this...

the way i see dreams is that...anything that happens during that day...it has something to do in my dream...like when i have talked to a person that i haven't seen in like a long while...i end up dreaming of something with that person in it...and its not just people...its like other things as well...and then i get deja vu sometimes...i dunno my dreams for me are so hard to explain...its so weird...but what a good topic to bring up and ponder about!

You're very imaginative but I don't think it could be true. Dreams don't 'know' they are dreamt. The characters you dream about aren't real, they have no emotions. YOU create them. Give them personality. That would mean we're created by someone else. A dreamer. And that we aren't true:)

when you dream of a person its a subconscious projection of this person so if you wake up and the dream ceases to exist only the subconscious projection of the being ceases to exist, not the real one

auctually there's case where people lose their memories and create new complicated memories....

Sometimes these memories are so complex and detailed, and yet the person has never been there, that they are accredited with being from a past life....

Which means if you believe in past lives you can't believe we're a dream, and if you don't believe in past lives then that would show that the mind can create some really intriguing things...

of course I believe in past lives so my argument is useless for me... *shrugs* just a theory though

Its a very good thought actually! It makes much sense too so its very believeable! If you believe in a god than to add on to that though, it could be your God waking from their dream about your life and your dead.. if that makes much sense at all...

Wow this is definitely my type of topic. I was just talking about this like a week ago and it’s a topic that has been on my mind for awhile. I always feel like there has to be more out there besides us. I sit and wonder if we are someone else’s dream or are we in someone’s aquarium as pets and they are watching us lol. This topic came to mind for me when I found out how many ppl are on this site and don’t really have the beliefs as everyone else who participates, basically that vampires don’t exists. How can we be the only ones that exists in the universe. I believe in just about everything because if I can live and breath here so can someone else.

Hey maybe we are just a thought in somebody’s mind or maybe we are just floating in space waiting to be gasped upon. This revolves around how real is our reality.

Well to begin with most dreams you dont notice all five sences I know every now and then you can actually feel or smell something in your dream but that is because of fimilarity with such objects meaning your brain plays back those sensations with precicion enough to confuse the body and dear we as of now experience to much for it to be an illusion and I think so there for i exist I'm not a thought

V.O. Ithink dreams are fairly real. I sometime dream of things that happen later. Of course thet happen so far later I don't remember dreaming about them until they happen and then it is to late for it to be of any use to me.

If we were sombofu's dream, then we cannot do anything about it. Rememeber the phrase "You controll everything in your dream" so it means they controll us.

I have yet to come to an answer. It is one of my greatest philosophical question for myself.

I have dreamt of strangers who dies, but the problem is I have no clue who the stranger is, and by the time I wake up, I can barely remember the person's face, much less the details. Otherwise, I would have tried to find anything in Obituaries, news, etc., about a death and see if maybe the deceased strongly resembles that which I had dreamt up.

I suppose I will be finding myself pondering on this issue until the end of my days....

your question is a bit unclear, but no. ideally, my brother would be dead, as would i, as would just about every teacher i have ever met. i think you are implying that when a persondies, it is because their "identity" has been trapped and locked away by someone else...a dream. to me, this does not seem even theoretical, but, if is gets you thinking it shows that emotions do carry over. i dont think physical can be affected in such gross proportions by emotional.

What about reaccurring dreams though. How can someone die, and then return. Since we all dream, we couldn't be killing each other and reviving them. What about when people dream about dead people.

Interesting thought...but I just found out... that Dreams and death might be connected. My best friend died about 40 days ago, (tomorrow is her '40 days' or ascent to death) and she appeared to me and my/our other bestfriend...on the same night, on the same hour but in different dreams...
