I've been doing some studying. And before i reveal my findings, i wanted so opinons on Past Lives. If it is real, if it is false. Tell me what you think.

Past lives and reincarnation are very real. Things you have done or things that happen to you in past lives affect your current life. Simple past-life regression can show this.

i myself do believe in this, i love anything to do with midevil stuff. i believe i've had a past life in that era for me to like it so much.

I agree that it is real for the most part, but not based on karma, just whatever your soul wants to do at the time of death.

I'm not sure if I believe in it or not because I've seen pretty convincing evidence on television specials on notable channels such as Discovery. But again, it is TV so I have to question it. I've never had any personal experiences with it, but I'd definately be interested in any evidence you have found one way or the other.

It certainly is a fantastic field to study. Personally I have never experienced feeling like I've lived a past live, but many people have had feelings, dreams, and many other things that theyu can trace back in history. It's quite eerie actually.

I believe in past lives... i would like to find out what was i in a past life.

I believe as long as your soul doesn't experience the "second death" it's possible to have past lives.

Past lives are real. I went to a psychic and she told me that, in my past lives, I was never human. She could never find out where I came from though...

I've been wanting to submit myself to this for some time now.

For two key resons beyond it being cool to see whats inside me...

The first is to explore an existing hypnosis block of memories in this life.

The other, is to see if I can match any of my dreams or creative writing stories to actual events.

Subject A. went through another regression, much like the first, she came to find out she had been in the withc trials.


Subject B however, had a slightly more interesting experience.

First experience.
No complications.

Findings:

She found herself at the end on one of her past lives. She was trapped in a room. With a man trying to hurt her.
She told me the building was on fire. and that this man wouldn't allow her to leave and escape to saftey. I asked her what city and state she was in.
The answer:
New York city, NY
I asked her the year. she gave me the date. March 25, 1911
The same date as an infamous event in NYC history.
I asked her did she work there. She said yes. I asked her what the company was called. she said The Triangle Shirtwaist Company. The name of the building on fire. The Asch Building.
Soon after she became frantic. She said that the man was going to kill her. She told me the door was blocked she was trapped inside with the overseer. Then she screamed.

Afterwards:
She came too and said she watched herself fall to her death. She had jumped out the window. After this experience she told me she could no longer participate in my research. Saying that it was too real. I told her that was fine and that these things can no longer harm her. She became calm. and now assists me in my work.

I believe past lives are real. Some say deja vu is caused by doing something similar from a past life or knowing some one new like you've always known them.

Some also say that deja vu is the cognitive function writing to the long term memory area of the brain, at the same time as it passes through the short term section.

i was put into hypnose a time ago and was sent behind my birth; with the effect that i was lying on a bed in a african suburb dying etc. i was asked some wuestions and they've been recorded.

i add: it was a professional hypnotist from a huge Clinic in Bonn, Germany and it was for testing this stuff.

I was sent back to 4 reincarnations.

I know that one must have been in the UK, cause the first time, i went to London, when i was about 17 years old, i had a feeling like coming home and i had to cry. my friend thought i had gone nuts lol. and since years i have a longing to go to scotland. so i guess something must have been there in a past life.

I think that past lives are real just finding out what they were is so hard to do.

I would like to think it is true but how do you know the people you talk to are not reliving something they saw in an old late night movie.

Sorry to dispell such wonderful fantacys but past lives are a myth.

The idea of past lives comes from what is commonly known as "past life regression",
this is achieved by a form of hypnosis.

I study hypnosis and can tell you that this is simpley a trick.
The hypnotist simply giudes your mind while it is in a dream state,
what you see here in the "regresstion" is nothing more than a vivid dream that is controled or implanted by the hynotist.
Hypnotists of the past used this to attract attention to their art.

An advanced form of this techique is often used as a form of "brain-washing".

I must also mention that dreams occur similar to this and these can surface during "past life regression".

I am a firm believer of Past lives.

Science has confirmed the Buddhist concept of sunyata, or emptiness, which states that what we perceive as solid matter is, in reality mostly empty space. What is left is energy. This is what all of "reality" is made up of...energy. Energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only transform into something else. When our physical bodies die, the energy that makes up the essence of "us" is still there and has to go somewhere...

Couldn't say whether or not if it's real. If it's happened to me, I have no memory. I will say that until someone can actually prove anything about what happens when we die, I'll believe that anything is possible.

I believe in past lives and that phobias and dreams give you a glimpse into them.

I am also a firm believer...been told by many different people of my being an old soul.

I believe that the soul comes back to finish, to complete, to do better, right a wrong, and keep coming back until it has achieved what it needs too.

I never understood past lives. I know the concept behind it but why didn't these people pass over. Did they not get their first life right? When they do, will they then have to face a new judgment and will it include their past lives?

I absolutely believe in it! But I believe when you are rebirthed, your soul is split up a few times- one for another's life, another for your spirit guide that was your past life but guiding you now, and the third is just for your new life.

i have reoccuring dreams about a city, which i called home, and that now i know in my heart it doesnt exist anymore...so i think it is a message from my past life..as it happend to me quite often..even my bf had a dream of something in the past, and it was reoccuring..so i belive that dreams can also reviel something of our past lives..

there is a german tv series / reportage wich is putting ppl into hypnose getting them back to a pre-live and they try to find out were it was and when found they visit the past live places.. very impressive to see how much is true by that..

I believe that energy is never created and destroyed. I believe that energy is recycled after a person dies, but whether that energy itself is sentient, I am not sure.

I have no past life memories myself, I know of others that do. I do feel an unexplained kinship to native american cultures, but this does not mean that I was there, perhaps I just feel a calling to that way of life.

I have heard rumors that an "Aries" is always a first life. Does anyone know anything more about this?

There's a great quote from the Buddha regarding this subject. I find it so relevant because it not only applies to past/present/future LIVES, but to everyday existance, as well.

"If you want to know what your past life was like, observe your present condition. If you want to know what your future life will be like, observe your present actions."

I think we bring somethings over from a past life. Sometimes the strings are completely severed..and other times there is some stragglers that we bring into the next life. Hence my theory on gay men and women..I don't want to offend anyone, I am not really sure how to phrase that..so I apologize if I am wrong.

I have contradictory thougts on that. Because I believe it is possible but my teachigns tell me its not so. I could go either way.

You must remember that modern day society and science does not believe such things, so it is not considered a worthy teaching subject in our school system. But, we are not the norm, nor should we fear what society thinks of us and our beliefs. They fear what they do not understand. Personally, I believe in reincarnation/past lives and I do know what I was in several previous lives.

Something to think about... ever get the feeling of deja vu? Or being in a place you've never been before yet you recognize it and can describe it in detail without even venturing further than you are? Or you have memories of places and people you've never seen before or been to? There is some merit to your inner being... don't dismiss it entirely.

That may be slowly changing, RavenMoon. The so-called "new science" of quantum physics has been gradually proving true many of the things Buddhists have taught for amost 3,000 years..."new" science...haha.

I believe in the probabilty of past lives. The theory I've heard is that there are spirits that "hang around" waiting to be reborn. Think about people who have unreasonable fears. Say they fear sharks or fires- maybe their fear stems from a way they died in a previous life.

I've been told I am a new soul, that this is my first time around. This expalins why I am so incredibly gullible sometimes. lol

I completely believe in the possibility of past lives. At this point in this incarnation I don't remember much about past lives I've had. I just know I've lived before.

I do believe in past lives very much. I went to see a physic and a shamen and both have helped me to discover a few things. I had a past life during the medevil time period, which made alot of sense because I have a passion for the century. For example, I love chilvary and knights. Also fencing and swords catch my fancy. I am even working for the Renisaunce Pleasure Faire located in Irwindale, Ca. Its a world reknown event. Anyway, Past lives help to bring us to where we need to be. They are very much a part of us. Sometimes Karma is not always kind but in the end it all balences out.

I did extensive hypnotherapy in the mid nineties and absolutely know that past lives are real. It was proven to me by docuemnts that were in my family's historical library in Lexington, Kentucky. I was able to articulate several details that at that time were unbeknownst to me about an ancestor named Jane whose two brothers came to the colonies in 1743 as landgraves on plantations on the James River in Virginia.

Sure enough about three later, I saw copies of the Land Grant from King George II which was signed by him. There is also a portrait of Jane at the library and she looks just as I described her.

I also had a past life that died on the Titanic. His name was listed as a casuality. He was the only one with the last name Perkin. It was verified after I had the memory. I hadn't ever seen anything about a passenger list before, but as a child I was terrified and fascinated with the Titanic.

I am certain we can experience past lives.

Personally I believe that past lives are real and that what you did in your past life is going to affect what you do now and later in your life.

Gorey and I had a conversation about this last week. He saw a dog tied up outside a shop, and it stared at him intensely for a long time. He stared back, and it made him wonder if that connection and focus where a result of something in a past life. The first image that we discussed was a battle, where the dog, as a human in a past life, had been his second in command. As an animal further down the evolutionary ladder before reaching human, perhaps you can remember more about your past lives?

I, personally, do not believe in past lives. I see this event as nothing more than an anthropomorphic moment where this connectio has been imaginatively utilised to bring up a philosophical question (although it is one which as humans, we often love to discuss.)

What I am more interested in is this; what gives us the need to recycle our souls? Also, if this is the case, then how does this awareness change our lives?

I think from what I have experinces from those who has undergone regression, and do believe, is they feelt that they have a deeper understanding of the world and those in it, and take a greater responsibility for their actions, for how it will change their future... which is indeed no bad thing.

So, to summarise, I don't believe in past lives, but I do think that mentally the propspect can have very positive results on the psyche.

Yeah past lives are probably real, you often remember things that you never actually saw.

i think its real because there are not enough souls in the world to go around for every person. so i do believe people have lived before.

I honestly don't know what to think. I mean, I haven't seen it happen, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen. You know what I mean, you can't see air, but you know it's there. I know that there are alot of findings out in the world that proves that past lives are real. But some people think that it's just your dreams and your mind playing games with you. I don't have proof that it's real, yet I don't have proof that it's fake either. I do believe that something happens to your soul after you die, what I don't know, but something happens. I guess I will find out when my time comes.

I have gone through Regression and I have seen these places and times that I previously lived.
There is one thing I would love to do and is to go back to all the lives under hipnoses (spelling sorrie) and see how life was and see which ones were of humans, animals, and otherkins.

LOL, I was referring to the Jr and Sr high school systems when I mentioned the school systems.

Over here in the UK, we had a very infamous incident with the National football coach...

He started taking advice from a mystic. Strange move off the bat.

But he then got himself confused over the whole karmic resonance through lifetimes.

He made a public statement in an interview, which essentially said that those in this life who are born with dysfunctional bodies, i.e. missing limbs, genetic conditions, etc, were experiencing life like this due to 'sins' that they had commited in a past life.

Obviously, he was slated in the media and lost his job, his career even, because of this misunderstanding and hugely offensive public announcement.

But in a way, his interperatation was valid, even if I disagree with it myself.

I feel more that we are able to choose each new life ahead using our higher level consciousnesses, so in my mind, it cannot be a 'punishment' for past trangressions, unless we are self-inflicting them.

But how then, do our actions in one life affect the next, if not by a natural balance of energies?

Buddhists say that you can remember your past life when you are very young, but as you get older and get more entrenched in this life, you begin to forget.

That is sometimes the case, people mainly don't remember the lives that came before. Things like fears of water, sometimes come to be shown that that personb died drowning in a past life. It depends only on the person.

Usually, after a regression you do. The person can however choose not to remember. But what you get from the experience is so much more.

i remember when we did this, it was quite an interesting experience.

I believe in past lives, and have been regressed before, although what i saw/felt was not pleasant, as a result it makes me question the regression. But it hasnt shaken my belief in past lifes

Thats what past life regression is for, you are taken back, in you mind to a time when you lived before. And if you choose too, you remember it.

I am a believer in past lives. I believe I have an old soul,and I dream about a past life that I lived. All I know is the dreams are not exactly like dreams,they are real.I know the place and I know I've been there and lived it. I was in an acient time,and I felt very connected to it. So,yes I firmly believe in past lives.

Wow! All these ideas are fascinating. I am on the fence about this myself. My religion teaches me not to believe in reincarnation. But then on the other hand I Just know I was alive during the Revolutionary War. I also am sure I was alive in midevil England. Maybe I just have a fantastic imagination, but I can remember things I've never read in books. I can remember sounds and smells from these times. I guess I will have to wait until some future time to prove or disprove these things to me, but I do remember these things so well. I do also believe that you can feel these memories much better when you are a child or even a teenager. They do seem to become harder to recall the older I get.

Reincarnation was not always shunned by Christianity. It was believed in the early pre-Paul church. There is a scene in the Bible where Jesus and the disciples see a man who had been born blind and one of the disciples asks Jesus what the man must have done that he had been born blind. How could he have "done" anything if he was born that way? Unless he had been alive before he was born...

Actually it's very easy to "believe." People claim to believe things all the time without knowing anything about them. What's very hard is to do the work and gain an educated, informed basis for deciding whether you believe or disbelieve something. Most people aren't willing to do that. Either they're afraid their "beliefs" will be challenged, or they're lazy, or they don't really care...I don't know. (shrugs)

hmmm. well i can understand that some people find it easy. if i had a past life, well i know nothing about it. all i know is that this has been my only life
