Why a vampire at all, indeed? I have seen enough people who claim to be a true vampire on this site that this question now becomes a poignant question for all to ask of themselves.
The questions are: Why are you a vampire? What makes you a vampire? What about your day to day activity makes you a vampire in your own eyes?
The rules to this thread are as follows: No single sentence answers are allowed. There is no, "I am what I am" that is an acceptable answer. You must back up your claim with supporting arguments of any type you choose.
I await the answers with anticipation.
Demian:> a good and comprehensive response. I applaud that vampire was at the end of a thought process and not a whim.
Demian:> If I may ask, is your blood drinking a compulsion in terms of a lifestyle choice? Or is it a need that has consequences if you choose to stop drinking blood?
For me (excuse me i'm no scholar so this maybe lame) its been a slow process. When i was young i was not like the other kids very much to myself and never really needed anyone...it only got worse except when i was with people i just mocked them or converted into what they needed me to be(another story all together) so i could be considered normal i have always been DRAWN to what is abnormal or dark or morbid..i have dark sense of humor....the older i get the weaker my somatch has gotten i can't handle a lot of foods like i used to..my eyes are getting VERY senitive..i have a hard time sleep during the night i have a restless body and during the day i can't sleep enough...the blood thing to me i never really tired however i find it a turn on in a sexual manner i think it would cure me of a animalistic need...but other then that i'm not sure...now with all that being sad after all this stuff starting to happen i was in search of people that could explain to me why this was happening and someone i could relate to considering my family thinks that i'm ....well they don't agree lets put it that way...and this my friends is the close thing i have found that explains what is happening and the funny thing is i feel at home something i have never turly felt before :) sooo umm thats my explaination..don't know how good you think it is but its the best i can do with out talking one on one :)
love dara
I really hadnt pondered on that question(why a vampire) I was born one, first off and the drinking of blood nurishes my soul and satifies the thirst. I dont drink blood as much as I used to for the simple fact its not so readily available, so I supply myself with the lifeforce my means of psy energy.... I would rather stay sanguin, but in this day and age you cant just go to someone and say "I want your blood" and they turn around and say "yeah sure." I think you would get more of a response like a smack across the face or someone actually screaming...
I have always loved blood. I have always loved the taste of it. It wasn't until I was about 12 I started feeling the NEED to consume it. I became an insomniac (not sure if that was really to do with vampirism but) that passed and now I can sleep if it's after 3-4am. My eyes are very sensitive to the sun and my skin burns easily. If I get a strong thirst and I can't get blood I tend to get angry and abusive then/or feel drained and depressed. I never really thought vampires were real. Until a friend told me there were real vampires and I looked it up on the internet and found sanguinarius. I then realised what I am :-) A Vampire.
I always had an affinity with the night world, from a young age always had a thing for vampires, lycanthropes, and all things of the supernatural.although as i have explained in previous posts was suppressed by my years in the church. But my treatment there, just enhanced my feelings.Believe it or not i,ve met more evil christians than there is evil here.If you read my journal entry The awakening,it,ll tell you, that wasn,t made up for fun, that was a true life event, how i came to be who I am today. The thirst is real.Vampirism is a virus carried in the saliva of a predator,in 24-72 hours depending on the persomns metabolic rate it sperads through the human body, creating new parasitic organs.I crave blood, sunlight proves difficult but i can go out in it as long as i cover in sunblock, but crosses i just laugh at,garlic proves to be more an aphrodisiac, contrary to the legends written about our kind.and silver not a problem.I keep the thirst at bay from drinking animal blood,i wont take a life, ive explained this before in other post responses.I,m a sang nang vampire.Sang vampires also known as jar d'harm(black hearts)tha go for the hunt and the kill, are the blood suckers of legend.they prove to be stronger than sang nang, but although the cravings get extreme,i stay true to my vow.
why a vampire? well I think it is because I get such a power rush from blood.
I enjoy the life style as for my everday vampire activitys I enjoy feeding at least once a week and avoid the sunlight when I can it's not that it hurts me so much as anoys the crap out of me.
Jenove... Most of my life I have been drawn to the occult, mainly in the form of magick and witchcraft. Over my lifetime I have drawn energy off of other people, not knowing that this was a form of vampirism until comming to VR. Having to overcome the obstacles of my christian upbringing to get in touch with my magickal self I am quite new to the actual practice of witchcraft and vampirism, spending a considerable amount of time and energy researching these topics. Only recently have my husband and I shared a small amount of blood from eachother (some call it cut licking), not sure if this will become part of our magickal selves. We are still learning and assesing what is right for us.
I ask people that same thing when they say they are. its a curiousity. someone i met before said she was a vampire through her thoughts, movies, and myths. curiousity.
it is my belief and learning of such is that a vampire gets the gift of the dark moon with out the pain needed to focus. there nature and acts are dark so the moon sings to them when black as a light moon sings to a creature of light. it is truly a weakness in the soul and the gravity of the others souls will put you into the parrallel universe below in the gyer of this planet. trust me the further down science would say the more you have to go through to get through all the parrallell univeses to get back to this dimension then to the 3rd wear time can longer inflict emotion and eventualy to the black hole that my reside in your zodiac. the ultimate zen to be a point no bending no streching just pure joy of being a point that is indistructable imortal and free of sin and thought. true zen to be nothing but part of everything. it is a foolish sadistic way of saying I dont care about the gravity I enforce on this universe and the planets gyer which also effects spin and axis of this planet as it is in more than one dimension. truly foolish and not the way to live. no wonder the kgb started to kill them. my self I forgive and hope to show the way to level 1 which is true enightenment.
to be nothing and everything rather than an ego driven creater of need. magick is so much more than the soul you use to gain a memory or a gift that in darma was your to begin with. it is just a lack of displin and to be honest jenova of your origin you should understand this before most here.
peace all and you may come back to the way and leave behind the puzzel you make for your next time. it has taken our kind eons to get back here why make it worse. sartan and pyrans its just as many say a choice and a very very fucking foolish ones. pitty none of you knew what you did to you our planet our existance and our brothers and sisters.
magick is real mabe one day I shall understand. but at this moment I am as some say a charlleton :) love ya writing babe your well educated in the schooling of an arts degree but to understand is a mind of math not spelling. love you all
and you esepcaly sin I hope your not alway to have red lips and mabe one day find your self owning your own soul and seeing the true future of a simple non liner not cicrcular existance. one people one faith on sin on love.
I am honored and blessed to have been here with all of you thankyou :)

my point exactly how can some one who has a lust for blood be able to have the will to give up a true addiction. the sight that comes with it is not yours and the weight on your soul will increase every drink of a new person.
how can one actualy acheave unity or the singular point dimension 1 heaven if your putting more weight on your soul so it gets sucked back into the heigher dimensions.
the buddists had it right I think just the numbering back to front. its dimension 1 we want not 11
the true imortality of a sang is the rebirth to a mirriad of universes just to get back to square one. turly not imortal at all. only singularity in the essence of being only the speck and there for part of all of jenovas over all concusness is the true imortality. to be not to think. to think takes to many dimensions. :) to be the point of your life the point in your acctions to be your self and makeing you the point might just be a step in the right direction. the magick will come if your ready dont make the magick the point.
or you loose what is true the singular point of all. to become the point :)
I think that was a one sentence answer.....
Anyway. I myself do not claim vampirism, I do however have beliefs on the matter. There is no evidence to show that vampirism is genetic, as some claim. That is what I like to call "grasping at straws" people not only want to find an answer here, but they want a supernatural one(not that if it were physical it would necessarily be supernatural) but it seems to be less "real" to people if it isn't genetic or something. I see vampirism as purely psychological, this doesn't make it any less real but for many it is simply not enough. There is nothing biologically different about anyone who cries vampire as opposed to an average everyday human being. I don't care if you crave blood or are sensitive to sunlight, vampirism is a lifestyle.
sorry I ment no offence at all. I just answered a question honestly to some one I respect and wished to only share my true thoughts about the whole issue with them. I also think that in time some might see what im getting at.
your choice is exactly that your choice and ganesha will be more than please it was your choice and not some one elses. I guess it makes it complex for him otherwise. :P
peace bro and all of you.
I was talking to the person, who answered with one sentence....did you? cause im not seeing that.
bro? lol that is mrs bro to you.
sorry sister im working hard on 5 screens at the moment doing all sorts of shit that are compleatly unrelated :) ah the web so diverse.
please for give me :)
Simply put, for the thousandth time, I'm a vampire because I have a need to draw energy from others in order to sustain my existance. I'd go into more detail, but I've said it over and over, and now I'm just tired...
"The questions are: Why are you a vampire? What makes you a vampire? What about your day to day activity makes you a vampire in your own eyes?" - Jenova
The questions really are: Why do you think you are a vampire when it is so obvious you are not? Are you a walking corpse occupied by a supernatural force? If not, what makes you think you're a vampire other than a delusional fantasy you buy into?
It is about contortion in a sense. We as people want things our way, we want the cake and damnit we want to eat it too. We wish to sometimes change their very meaning, in order to fit what we want. It isn't about being "accurate" it is about shaping words and definitions to suit your own selfish interpretations.
Please go to the a cranial nerve neurosurgery immediately.
"But unlike any of you, I have had conducted the only scientific study proving that fact"
oh, please, spare us.
I have always been a vampire. My earliest memory is of drinking my own blood when I was 3 years old. My mother swears that when I was breast feeding, that I would try to draw blood and then ignore the milk. When I don't have blood, I'm very tired and I have a host of depression problems. As for Upir, I did not know of vampires until I was 9 so I couldn't have been influenced by hollywood. In addition, sporadically, people will get extremely tired around me while I become more awake even if I stayed up all night.
ravenna052199 -
It would be most interesting to actually meet and speak with your mother to see whether she would agree with you re: your alleged blood-drinking behavior as a toddler.
And secondly, as there have been medical research studies on every imaginable condition, including a few that describe symptoms somewhat akin to fictional vampirism (e.g., Porphyria), surely if you possessed such a physiologic need for blood and/or psychic energy, there would be medical professionals clamoring to research you and document such an unknown and unprecedented capacity... just as there were in my own unprecedented, "physiologically impossible" case.
However until such time as you and/or anyone else claiming such actually has your alleged capacity scientifically documented and professionally published -- as was mine -- such claims are always going to be treated quite skeptically... as well they should.
AntiEveryone -
And yes... "scientifically documented" and professionally published in one of the world's leading scientific journals. Then the Study was presented at numerous professional research conferences and consortiums worldwide, and further featured in the media, including articles in many major magazines and features on two television specials.
So... spare me the "spare us."
It is almost a laugh riot that you would think you could get away with such a pompous unelaborated statement. Don't assume that your story is special enough for the world to automatically "know" what you are talking about. We will need a little more than that. You know, scientists and haha, the media make claims all the time. And I suppose sean manchester was a witness?
I merely give you the same attitude I see you so often showing everyone here, in damn near all posts ive seen you make.
Dont believe for a second that since "the media" has allegedly "confirmed" your story that it is going to be believed. You know the media also says that pit bulls are the devil, and the bible says the world was forged in 6 days.
I'm sorry, did I not mention -- repeatedly -- that it was a scientific study first published in a major scientific journal prior to a single word being picked up and reported on in the media? Or did you skip all that and just latch onto the word "media" to help prompt this current bout of diarrheac diatribe?
As for the proof of my claims, It's all at my profile page with hyperlinks to the study and all ancillary information thereunto pertaining.
Nice hearing from you again... as always.
"I'm sorry, did I not mention -- repeatedly -- that it was a scientific study first published in a major scientific journal prior to a single word being picked up and reported on in the media? "
Alrighty, lets just forget about the media part. I am willing, in fact it might make it more interesting. I still think the fact that you belittle people by saying "unlike any of you" (what the hell is with that? by the way) is pretty presumptuous. You are not unique you do not stand alone an your place in a magazine doesn't make your story any more believable. And in all my vast research on the topic, ive NEVER seen a scientific organization take anything in this topic seriously, let alone find PROOF of what you claim. For that is simply not possible anyway. I will take a look at your links, and perhaps you could try to be less condescending, but that is up to you. I digress, I am starting to post essays here....and im sure you know.....that is terribly annoying.
"Why are you a vampire? What makes you a vampire? What about your day to day activity makes you a vampire in your own eyes?"
Let's see how well I can answer this...
When I was growing up, I always knew I was offbeat from everyone around me. My first encounter with blood was when I was 11 and was playing with my friends at the playground. One of the girls slipped on a wet patch of leaves and scraped her hand. I must say that it took a lot of will power for me not to run over to her and lick her hand. At that time, I was so wierded out by my reaction, that I didn't talk to her for about two weeks, and she thought I was mad at her.
I spent the next couple of years trying to figure out why I wanted to taste the blood of all my friends when they got hurt. I think I was about 15 before I was introduced to the idea of vampirism, and it wasn't even related to the blood!
At 15 years old, I got a NASTY sunburn. Thing is, I had only been outside for just over an hour, and had high SPF sunscreen on. I started doing research into why that would have happened, and came upon the disorder Pyphoria. While reading about it, I started realizing that I experienced mild symptoms of this disorder, nothing that would allow me to be diagnosed with it, but still...
Well, I started taking note of my habits: avoiding the sun due to sunburns and pain in my eyes, a lust (so to speak) for blood, and my natural it seemed, aversion to religions (granted there are other reasons for that).
I started coming to the conclusion that I must be otherkin of some sort, and when doing the research figured out I am a vampire.
I do have a medical condition that keeps me out of the sun for the most part (my retinas have no pigmentation, so they don't reflect sunlight, making them VERY susceptable to sunburns, which can cause me to go blind), but that's just one thing. I do feel more connected with the dark, and of course, there's the blood thing.
So, I guess that's why I consider myself a vampire...hope that answer is good enough. :)
And the topic is why?
Every answer will clearly have to be subjective. If people choose to believe for a reason, then thats that why they do, whether anyone else agrees with them that it defines a vampire state, or not, as the case may be.
Oh, and by the way, thank you Anti for saying something that I think everyone on here was thinking (in reguards to the posts above me).
LovesEternalDeath -
If you scroll up and Anti's remarks on just this thread alone, you will see that he belittles almost all other remarks here and also discounts the "vampirism" you claim.
Given this, it is curious you should thank him for slamming me.
I just need to get in that just because something is published doesn't automatically make it true or "repeatable." Of course I would give it a little more weight, but you get some truly bizarre things that get published. You also have to play into the fact that sometimes these things get defeated in further future more analyzed testing.
I would assume (just my opinion here) that if these scientific aspects that were proven only by the one person stating it on this thread in some scientific means. They would probably not need to be here ramming the concept down everyone's throats on every thread that has the word Vampire in it. I would figure they would have government or commercial funding to continue forward with the program and be making quite a bit of money.
The only thing I have repeatedly stated here is that the original vampire was not a blood-drinker (read my original entry here before "AntiEveryone" began lambasting me) and that ppl need to investigate the original legends to discover what truly defined "vampires."
She. Thanks.
Calling someone out on their attitude and the validity of their....I suppose you could call it..."argument" isn't slamming someone. Thick skin is a must here.
"Historical vampirism" amazingly, it has nothing to do with multi orgamic function from what i see. (see upir's profile for his theory on vampirism)
Vampire, just look in the dictionary. Hell just watch the History channel this month.
when I look up "historical vampirism" I see nothing about upir's......colorful theory, (not to be confused with fact by the way)
You slammed me for mentioning that the study was featured in the media after its professional publication... then you use the History Channel as your proof that my research is wrong? Amazing.
No doubt FOX's "Alien Autopsy" must've really messed with you head. ;)
Wasn't slamming dear ;) It was my way of saying your interviews and media encounters, don't prove your point ;)
and the history channel thing was my way of saying "wow even they know what they are saying with more credibility" and sources like that explain rather well vampiric history
Yet again... it's the scientific study itself and its publication in a professional research journal that proves the claims I am making. And as these back up fully the original Slavic accounts of vampires as they existed for at least 500 years before the first fictions of blood drinking begin, then this does indeed explain rather well the original vampire accounts of Eastern Europe.
The only one attempting to use Media portrayals as proof in lieu of scientific evidence, my dear, is you.
UpirLikhyj
I agree with you that the first vamp was not a blood drinker but a life taker it drained the life from its victims to keep itself alive. There are so many people that have started treads on phy vamps but if you look at it there is really only one real vamp and it is classified as a being that takes life energy to live be it blood energy or what ever its all the same in the end a being that takes life to keep itself alive.
Now to answer the question, I am a vamp by creation I was made one (not the movie kind of vamp), I was not bitten to be turned I have a heart beat sunlight don’t do a dame thing to me, unless I forget sunscreen and stay out there all day, yes a stake threw my heart will kill me but it would kill anybody. Crosses don’t affect me but I really do like to taste of holy water (because of the sacramental wine in it). But still that leave why well the thing is I really didn’t have much of a chouse in the matter, it is what I am it like asking a white person why are you white? I really don’t know it that answers your quandary but that really the answer I have.
wow, this is much more entertaining than the original post - i wanna sell tickets to this.
I'm glad to see some serious answers here. And glad it got this far before it turned into an "Upir vs the World" deathmatch.
Like it or not, people claim the title of vampire because it is what they associate with on one level or another.
Again, "vampire" matches closest to what I am and explains to me all of the different physical and metaphysical changes in me since I became one.
I honestly didn't even subscribe to the whole psychic vampire theory myself until I read "The Psychic Vampire Codex". It matched so closely to what I am, what my needs are, and how I came to be (without the whole "being a Kheprian" thing) that it has become an association that makes me whole on all levels.
I think there are many reasons why people claim to be vampirse. First one is they saw movies and were fasinated by it and wanted to be one. Two is everyone has there own fetish some peoples is to drink blood and be in the dark which they believe makes em a vampire. Third you want to be something your not and refuse to accept that your just you. That is what i believe and i'll stick by it.
ah, now that's an interesting point. most people don't really know who they are, so wanting to be something they are not is rather a conundrum. calling themselves vampires his helping them to define who they are. i would say whatever you want to be deep down is what you truly are - any outward appearance is merely an obstacle or a mask
ok i can agree to that you can be what you want but the outside is just apperance.
Belief is strong enough to fly in the face of opposition, history, and in some cases proof. Whatever someone believes they are, it often takes more than 'mere facts' to make them truly question it.
To my knowledge and from my experience, few arguments in an online forum about someones beliefs have been settled to the final acceptance of both or more parties. You may have a more convincing argument, you may have more facts backing you up, but someone will still walk away from this believing what they wish to believe or feel is 'their truth'.
In the case of metaphysics especially (where solutions can fly in the face of science), there is no way to prove something wrong (only undiscovered or beyond our understanding).
belief can change the facts. physicists have proven that merely observing an experiment can in itself affect its outcome. and how do you define fact? most of the time, what is accepted as a fact id merely a consensually agreed theory. in the case of historical events, a so called fact is usually nothing more than a biased account saved as a document. for instance, it is a documented fact that when caesar came to Britain, he encountered savages wearing animal skins, living in crude tents, and living solely by hunting and gathering. archaeological evidence paints a totally different story - in fact there is no hard evidence that Caesar ever set foot on British soil. the people of that time wore woven wool and cotton clothes, were mainly farmers, lived in well built structures, and had a rich culture.
you shouldn't believe everything you read.
Interesting that quantum physics should raise its head in this particular thread. Yes, it has been noted that the very act of observation will change quantum reality from something that it naturally is into something totally different as it is being observed. Makes for an interesting argument as far as personal point of view goes.
". It matched so closely to what I am, what my needs are, and how I came to be (without the whole "being a Kheprian" thing)"
It's a decent enough book when taken with a few large grains of salt, but the first person to consider calling me a kheprian in persons getting some loose teeth.
as to the local cagematch up there, I think Upir needs to clue in that perhaps, considering VAMPIRE is not even the slavic term, that perhaps he is the one talking about an entirely different creature, not the rest of us(meaning the planet, not this site), and vampirologist, personally I still think your little inbred society is just a joke anyways, thats why it's invite only, they don't like dealing with people who are not ALREADY indoctrinated into their party line, which is bad science, and worse debate.
Daermon:> there are certain things at this point that I avoid "arguing" with other individuals.
true, i'm just tired of listening to a couple of know it all blowhards tell the rest of the world how to live.
myself, I feel an urge to draw energy to myself, this may be entirely in my head (anti) or it may be an actual energy transfer, which would also satisfy the no blood drained argument (upir)
all i can say is to me it is there, and there is a point where I feel "filled" for lack of a better term
Daermon:> and truthfully that's all that most of us can say. And because we draw energy to exist and to fulfill the missing need, we term ourselves vampiric. It already existed and is a convenient prototype to describe our need.
Ok the reason I am a Vampire is that before I was blooded at the age of sixteen I was able to hold a tan all year round. Now that i have been blooded I do not tan I just burn really bad. That and now I can't sleep to save my own life at night. Ill be up all night then beforced to stay up all day. It will go on like this for like four or five days. Then my body just shuts down.
i do not drink blood, but i do have extreme fascination with the culture...The music, the people...and i can never sleep at night which screws me over in the day time when i need to work and pay bills. i believe i have some psi abilities...i have traveled to the astral realm...i have had out of body experiences and other stuff like that.
Hello,
A pugnent question, if not indeed coming into privacy. Why? Maybe they like to fell something different, they become stronger, more beautiful, smart? I ask you AM I?...
do you really have a choice if you are a vampire or not?
I first started noticing thing and piecing things together when peoples moods would change around me. I thought it was weird and soon came to understand the gift I was born with. The more time I spent with people the more drained (I guess you could say) they were. I spent a lot of time with my mother when I was first exploring my gift, I noticed she would get very sick and weak after extreme amounts of time with me. I started practicing to control from taking energy from others and slowly noticed her health being restored. I now Have good control on taking only small amounts of energy from people as to not hurt them. My mother although has suffered permanent damage from her health being so low.
I am not a vampire, but i have something to say. Many of people here telling that they are vampires do it just because they find it interesting. On my way I found some people who really are vampires and it´s not just because they drink blood. A vampire needs to take life energy from others, because he cant provide it by himself. That´s the real description of a vampire. People are born with this and you cannot become like this during life. (I heard about awakening, but in my opinion it´s foolish)You can´t change into someone you are not. (Not speaking here about the vampires we know from films) So you people around here who are saying that they became vampires during your lifes... I would call you psychological vampires. You made yourself to be one, by thinking of it, trying to drink blood and common.
My apologies, if i insulted someone here.
Laurel: interesting answer. It was very well thought-out and for that I thank you. You stated that it impossible to become a psi-vampire or a vampire over all.
Do you know what causes the energy-deficient state of the vampire to begin with? In the history of man, all variants were at some point created. Some retain the energy-deficiency into lifetime after lifetime either because they must or they choose to.
But what causes the energy deficiency? I can tell you that it is not a "natural state" for most humans. And being deficient on spiritual energy/ life energy is not written into the genetic code at birth, for it is not a physical trait that is encoded.
If this energy deficiency is not a biological trait passed from parent to child, then it must be a metaphysical/spiritual condition. And as such, it is *caused* by an external event that changes the energetic state of a being.
Significant alteration of the spirit body happens at one point in time of the spirit's evolution, therefore it is indeed possible to become a vampire during any given lifetime due to an accidental event or an intentional alteration.
vampires arent created. we are born with abilities that humans dont have. what makes you a human? why are you a human?
There are two things I will say here: one is a quote from the philosopher Descartes (I think), and the other is from shakespeare (hamlet, i think).
'I think, therefore I am'
'There is nothing right or wrong but thinking makes it so'.
To make a tired point, no matter what you say, whether for or against something, and regardless of what your actual reality is (the term 'reality' is used very loosely, sinne its the thing im about to contest), whatever you think is right shapes your reality, and even if the outside world around you disagrees, you mind will refuse them because YOUR MIND MAKES IT REAL.
Sometimes metaphysical things like this become physical things. If you think you're sick, then eventually you end up sick because your thought process has actually convinced the foolish body that it is sick. Same principle, to some extent, I believe.
Personally, I don't know if I believe in vampires (of the undead sort). I know there are people who drink blood out there and some who leech off other people's energy. But I simply see that as a human with psychic mind-leeching abilities or a human drinking blood. Nothing more.
Sorry if this offends.
Yes in " What the Bleep Do We Know", the quantum physicists state that it is the science of possibilities.
In our High Alliance we just describe it as a human that is born with the inability to sustain their own lifeforce energy therefore seeking it from sources outside themselves.
We don't try to define the whys in it and surely not someone who drinks blood. Those that drink blood are known to be a minority in this community. They say lifeforce is more concentrated in the blood but its all anecdotal.
How does one know...its a lot of things. Many start with not fitting in. I didnt go through any sort of major awakening but some not all go through some form of change they term an awakening. Many know early on but only those who are in younger generations might perceive a name for it early on because of all the availability of things with the advent of the internet.
A reversed circadian cycle for one...night to day rather than day to night. Sensitivity to extremes in temperature for some. Sensitivities to sensory things and I would say more than psychic abilities because the variance seems to me to be the same as with any human but a more heighten ability to perceptual things. A yearning for something and that leads us to taking in the energy whether we know it or not. I have had experience with that and I lost a prospective boyfriend as he became frightened of me and I am the most vanilla person you would want to meet since I grew up with things like "Father Knows Best" and always having to wear a dress to school, lol. If I was to try to wear all black at that time...oh would I have been sent home in a flash.
It makes one an eccentric amongst the many. I got into the occult/metaphysical area. I think one is drawn to those things because you feel a connection to more whatever the more may be as one doesn't always recognize that but there is a seeking and a yearning. Eventually you meet up with someone similar and you feel them and know you have something in common and then things fall into place. My kids and probably my Mother were all this way. It comes through the maternal line in my family and thats all I can say about that...I just knew I was different and through life experience came to a realization.
Well if any one was to replay to this i like blood and i have fangs i would shoot them.
Ok well a vampires some 1 who needs 2 gain energy from other living things.
Now I started to notice at the age of about 13 i liked blood. then i started to crave it alot. so i began 2 drink it. i noticed that i became weak with out it. and i had lots of effects with drinking it and with out drinking it. It was a drug to me. this lasted about a year. then it started to calm down. now i dont crave it as much at all now, but i do seem to get energy from people through sexual activaties. So iv started to think maybe im psi. and i still do crave blood.
If not, what makes you think you're a vampire other than a delusional fantasy you buy into?
this is a vaild point
Sister: if we were discussing the vampire of myth and legend, the vampire who gets destroyed by sunlight, then yes your point is valid.
However, we are discussing the vampire as seen through the eyes of the individual. As such, your point, though well-taken, is slightly misplaced in this thread.
-Well I don't claim to be a Vampire. I'm a predator without a name. And I consider most of the human race to be food.
-In my day to day a veiw every human I come across as a potential meal, untill I find the one that best suits my appite.
Whether or not that is a Vampire traite I don't know. But that's how I think.
I am not one who lusts for blood. I am more of a Psychic Vampire if you will. I am able to consume a persons "energy" without any effort. I don't do it on purpose, it just happens. I am learning to contain it, as it can be bothersome at times!
Vampsheartagram; I don't think your reasons are bad at all. It's what vampire means to you.
Ok you said no one sentence answers but i have a single question for you. WHAT DOES poignant MEAN???? I have no clue so please enlighten me with your knowlage and the reason i believe ppl think they are a vampire is they just want something to be other than there boring selves and i know a secret of the vampires that noone here seems to agree with but i know its a fact and not fiction and if you wish to know this secret you have to talk with me personaly not here to many would like to hurt me ofterwards k.

I have thought long and hard on how to respond to this...
Honestly the reason I am considered a psy or psi, which ever you prefer, is simply because of definition and what it has been named. To be quite honest. Yes I feed off energy, but had the term psy vamp not been about, I would have never thought to go as far as to say I was a vampire. :)
Personally anyone who is a self proclaimed vampire to me is just an oddball...
I don't claim to be a vampire and everyone who does has a different lifestyle...something they do that I don't...like the blood drinking thing. Blood drinking for women way back when was a way to appear younger as a natural rosey color was added to the cheeks by the amount of hemoglobin...repairing other dead skins cells and reviving skin tones. That is all I've learned from well television...
Call me a dork but I do take interest in learning new things and documentaries are the best things there are.
As I was saying...being a "vampire" is a personal choice...no one knows the life a "vampire" lives there are so many different opionions and interpretations of what makes one a blood drinker from things like ritual to rights of passage...each taken in by a different group of religion or belief. I think that being a vampire is what you think it is...there is no one reason to think or believe you are one. Personal choice.
Personally, I do not think of myself as a vampire, I think of myself more as a wiccan. However, I did have a vampiric experience with someone. I think it was more like a feeding for him. Yes he did drink my blood. I thought it was kinda wierd. But I didn't stop him. My thoughts were "hey he needs to eat too." As far as would I do it again... probably not.
I am not a vampire, I am only here because my girlfriend (thenewdarkness) got me into this, I think it is a nice way to meet other people.
I am not a vampire. I do love horror movies... vampire movies being my fav, of course. I do, however, live most of my life at night, prefer the dark. I hate bright lights. There is a certain attraction, in my humble opinion, to being a vampire... immortality, lust, romance, mystery, seduction.. etc.
I always felt it in me and always knew I was different. I couldn't explain it when I was younger but now I know I always a the thirst. When I was awakened I felt at peace with myself finally.
i have been intresed in vampires for years and i reaserached them myself just to find out if they exist at all, at the same time i was different from everyone in my town the way i dressed the way i hate the sun and stuff and i do drink human blood once a week, so yeah i guess that is what i am and i have no problem of what i am, if people don't like it then thats there problem not mine
I believe we all need energy and some require more than others. Though I do not claim to be a vampire, I see the constant transfer of energy and understand the highs and lows of energy. Some knowingly feed or steal energy, while the masses just give and take unknowingly.
i like blood i dont like to waste it if i have a cut on myself i suck my own blood as well i do with anything else
i was born a vampire. so i know no other way..i love the taste of blood.
I never waste blood... but I try to get it when ever I can from myself or from certain places...
I am not a vampire nor do I ever claim to be one. I did at one time for research but other then that I am not a vampire.
It is true that Vampires orginally were never blood drinkers. I have seen programs and even read about it.
The problem I have is are you really a vampire?
Just because you favor to drink blood does not mean you are a vampire. For many many cernturies there have been tribes that devoted to blood drinking. They crave blood and believe tha blood gives them strength expecially blood of their enermies or blood of elders etc... It has been recorded in history HOWEVER they are not vampires... They are humans who have a stronge belief in something and for generations their ancestors been passing it down.
I think most people here look at vampires as something from entertainment (even if they don't believe they do). When I read on the reasoning behind them being vampires it is not something from history but from film. I have read enough history to see the diffrence. What I read is directly the result of modern day belief in what a Vampire is.
As with Psy Vampires... People who have the ability to drain energy or life force from individual have a psychic power that normally can or can not be controlled. Most humans have that power or have the ability to gain that power. I have friends who became a Buddhist and studied heavily on mind tricks and mind powers... She had gained a heavy psychic ability that she was never born with. She also had the ability to drain life do to strick training and becoming one with the earth. It was very interesting and something I wish I could do or have time to do.
All and all if you believe yourself to be a vampire simply because you crave blood, can't stand the sun or have psychic powers then that is you. You can desire to be almost anything. I believe people do make a choice to be a vampire and yes it has to do with the fact a person may have symptoms relating to what is popular about being a vampire.
I don't know... That is just my person opinion. I have no grudge on anyone who thinks other wise.
Jenova: sorry for not answering so long.
During my research I spoke to many people. A lot of them were liars, but I found some who really knew what they were speaking about. Those ones told me that they believed it was their soul´s condition and that they were already born with.
And so, to answer your question. I still assert on that you can´t become a vampire during your life. Not the one who can drain life energy.
And why is somebody born this way? I´m sorry to say, but I have no answer for that. If I find it out, I will come to tell you.
i don't believe i'm a vampire---i have never refered to myself as one. but i do exibit most of the vampiric--- qualities if you will. i don't drink blood, the idea makes me puke a lil in my mouth. but i can be quite gentle, persuasive, and lead people to believe i am a kind loving person. i think these qualities express the vampiric idea. (not the "goth" or "emo" but real vampires that need, and take)
i mean if you came across to the public as someone to be feared the masses would put you down and take you out.
I must agree with DarkAngelGina on this. My answer is similar to hers except for the blood. I had shared blood earlier in my life when I was a teenager. Then I slowly realized that I was drawing energy from others…A lot of negativity came of it. AS I came to my calling in life I merged my beliefs in Paganism and my life choice Vampirism to coexist within myself and for me it works and I am satisfied and happy with my life now. I have learned a lot through the years and how handle my urges and my life. I hope this isn’t too confusing for you.. For me to put into words what I think and feel on this is hard because sometimes words are not enough on a screen.
I have to agree with sacred, I'm not a vampire, I don't take things people don't want me to have.
