After reading the post about vampires being fallen angels. I was wondering, are vampires just another form on demon? For example, Lilith is thought to be the mother of vampires in some stories. And in others she is a demon. Vlad the Impaler, most think he was a vampire. Some believe that was in league with the devil to give him demon like powers. What are your thoughts on this?

In the christian faith, fallen angels are demons. I think it says that when Lucifer fell, one third of the angels fell with him and became demons.

i dont know much bout vlad but what i do know is that vampires r not demons in the biblical sense other then that i am not sure. i dont know who the first vampire is nor do i think i want to

I don't believe in such distinctions, but I do believe we are vampires. That is what we are. Maybe come from a previous life force or not. What is a demon?

a demon is a spawn ov hell. a creature ov satans creation. unleashed to wreak havoc upon the unworthy.

Then what are humans that are cursed by "god" and become demon-like?

I know that chritians look at all fallin angel as demons...but i would disagree.. i dont see why vampires should have that label... there looked down apon because the feed on blood.... whats the differnce between that and a hambuger for us?

if demons are spawned by satan, what is satan? a demon? There are people who have animal qualities or vice versa for any species, but it does not make them the species they seem to take after. If god cursed humans with demonic qualities, it doesn't necessarily mean they are now demon. If you think biblically, demons are fallen angles, not spawned of satan, spawned of god, fallen, basically just an evil angel. I personally don't believe that Vampires are demons, it's possible to catagorize them as such but, i do think they are a different "species"(for lack of better term.. thank you English).

Though Jesus did say, drink of me, this is my blood, he also said (about bread) this is my body eat of me. Highly debated amoungt the different factions of religion. The wine is his blood and the bread his body, they turn into his body/blood, or they symbolize.

There was never any specifications made as to what exactly it is seeing as the bible and jesus makes great use of metaphores and similes.

If you drank all of jesus blood, or the comunion wine you'd get drunk from the alcohol... I don't think jesus was an alcoholic to make his blood that potent in that way.

I wish i knew Latin and Greek much better, if not Arabic as well.

I think demons are a belief in the Christian religion. As many have said in this thread, demons are the angels that fell out of God's grace with Lucifer.

I do not think that those who choose the vampire lifestyle are demons. Many some of the myths about vampires refer to them as demons, but I am unsure about that one. The people who beieved in the vampire myths in certain countries may have considered them to be demons or in league with the devil, but that is only my quessing and nothing I am sure about.

Christians think that everything that is bad or even looks bad is a demon...So in that respect all of us on this website are screwed..and where demons....

So what happens when a christian becomes a vampire? are they suddenly no longer christian? and if we went by myth to define what we are are we not more than posers? Myths are based in fact but are not fact, religious or otherwise, it's dangerous to base any belief in myth, and if we believe in myth and discredit religion doesn't that pretty much crew religious people?

According to most legends a vampire is simply the human soul changed by demonic influences.

I don't think originally vampires are demons. One can become a demon I suppose and be a vampire to begin with. I believe most things are possible.The dark arts and the information on that path goes on forever.One can study a lifetime and never know all there is know of the dark arts and demonology.
I believe vampires are eternal souls, but as to where they originated, nobody will ever really know.I don't automatically link vampires to demons, two different entities.

Vampires in history are a sort of Demon but also one of the soldiers of higher demons like werewolves...at some point Demons are higher than vampires because Demons are closer to the devil than vampires since vampires are earth dwellers and are easily destroyed such as werewolves

I think that it depends what you think personally. I think that vampires are just that, vampires, and we could be demons, but I don't think that is true.

Most demons feed on some thing. So why would vampires be any diffent than demons?

because they're vampires not demons, if vampires were demons wouldn't vampires know it like a demon does? are demons vampires? or is it the a square is a rectangle but a rectangle is not a square kind of thing? being cursed and damned does not make a demon a demon though it is in great part of what they are.

Vampire is neither fallen angel nor demon. Vampire is a potential beginning of evolution for the human race. I believe that as the environment and society continue to change, so do humans (at least some of us do).

Vampire is one of the evolutionary possibilities. Whilst it may not entirely manifest itself by physical means in generations, the beginnings are there both in the mind and in the body.

These changes occur gradually over time. As such, the modern vampires of today could theoretically spawn in their offspring deeper physical vampire traits as they impress their desires and dna onwards.

That's the short answer.

I think that vampires are not demons... we are absolutely a new step in human evolution... demons are just a belief of the Christian world to name a person who doesn´t follow their rules... vampires are not demons, we are not evil, I´d think that most humans are demons, we are, as one of the friends here said, creatures of the night...

One is damned to hell's gates and one is forever walking on the earth. Some vampires have feelings, and demons I am told have none. It depends on how you look at things and at who's point of veiw you have. In some people's eyes we are all evil. However humans can be just as evil as the ones they call bad......

I was referring to the supernatural, silly. That is what this thread is about. We are the ones making the vamps either a god or demon. Then the fantasy writers came and now we have romantic vamps. Whatever happen to vampires looking like Nosferatu? Now that is a demon!

depends on which side u sit. one side thinks everything is a demon if it isnt something from heaven the other side or the dark side as comminly know would say otherwise

For most it would be the demonic and I can see the reason why people think of the deals with the devil...It's all in the way the stories have been told... anything people don't understand or think to be evil is automatically sentenced to be a demonic sort of thing.... I think vamps are more misunderstood than anything....

polytheism existed thousands of years before monotheism was invented. the religious scholars rewrote everything, and created the idea of hell and satan and such to help explain away all the old gods. the old gods were relegated to demons, sometimes changing the name slightly, and in some cases changing the gender too. for instance, the moon Goddess Astarte was gradually changed to astaroth, and in the process became male. the idea of just one god came about because of the emergence of cities and nations. if there is just one god, and just one religion, it is easier for the leaders to control the masses - its just a political tool.

Well in a biblical sense fallen angels are demons.. however in pagan folklore they are just demons, creatures of darkness. So for a vampire, well maybe its boils down to choice. Some may consider it 'evil' to drink blood, others just a natural cycle of things. Its one of those things that cannot be completely answered.

As much as I know Lilith is not a demon, she is immortal and chose Lucifer instead of Adam and so she is no demon, and no angel. That's why she is not evil but cannot be defined as "good". That is possible that she may be the first vampire, but that would mean that vampires are not deamons. But killing other peoples blood is defined as evil and she was/is not evil ...

My personal opinion - vampires are not demons :) tho' they may have some close relationship with some :)

Wow, this is a very interesting thread. One that I don't think will ever be truthfully answered. There is only a handful of people or beings that know the answer to this question and I don't think they are going to answer it.
I however believe that Vampires are not demons, but beings.

I keep on thinking that vampires are different than demons... Demons are evil, they choose evil... and usually enter our dimension to harm people. Vampires are real beings, and we decide if we are good or bad... most of us just live our lives without harming people...

Well its an interesting thought. No I would not think of Vampires as Demons and anyone whom has ever delt with a demon would agree even a lesser demon , vampires pale in compairison.

Lilith is a storm demon associated with wind and was thought to be a bearer of disease illness and death. Lilith is a night demon in Jewish lore and as a screech owl in the King James version of the Bible. Depends on your belifes in the end due to many legends and ... i know these due to reading and surfing about these kinda things...

There are many different veiws when it come to demons and vampirism it depends on what material you are looking at. Biblical, Hollywood, Fantasy etc... Different cultures and relgions have different interpretations on the matters.

Well in the myths Vampires have some association with demons but are not demons. Unlike my stories they are half demon but that is a story that I create and not the truth.

See with Lilith is the fact she indulged in blood which to some always seems to come into mind a vampire. She in fact probably was on a different league then even a vampire or demon. In fact she was a goddess.

As for Vlad he was just a man who did what he could to survive. All the myths surrounding him did not come about music until Stoker wrote the book Dracula. That was when his myth was exploding with Vampires and devil worship etc... He was far from being a vampire.

So maybe Vampires are some human that is different and don't believe in what normal humans think so they are like the oppisite of humans as demons are the oppisite of angels. Just my theroy though.

Vampires and demons are two separate entities altogether.There are good and evil everywhere,and i dont believe that all vampires are evil.

Vampires...hummm.. fallen angels are considered demons. All of them. Vampires are not fallen angels. The choice to be a vampire was made by a single individual not God.

Personally I think vampyres are just another species of being here on the planet. The idea of fallen angels or demons is all from christian beliefs. There are so many different types of people I don't see why it would be so hard to believe that a vampyre could be one of them.

I believe there are different types of demon out there...some are fallen angels who got greedy for power & were tossed out of "heaven" along with Lucifer...some of condemned souls who find a way out of "hell" & come back for another chance to live...but never can on the account of them being..ya know...dead!!

I believe Vampires and Demons are different all together.Demons are fallen angels and Vampires are mortals who Gained immortality with a good taste for blood according to myths and books.And as for Lucifer he is just the Dark side of god.....How can he be termed as evil when evil existed before him?

Unfortunatly just believing doesn't make something real. Which unfortunatly is the basis for belief. I could truely believe that vampires are god's Jeckel/Hyde creations, secretly, but truely, angels or nymphs or sprites. But we all know that isn't possible. I'm sure there is fact somewhere after all being a Vapire is tangible and physical, not just mental and spiritual, there is an answer somewhere.

vams are blood suckers. demans have special unique powers. vamps only have the power to pursuade and bit very well. but other than that they are different. yes both are stong but vasmps need something to make them unique

Vampires and demons are two different bings, or entities, related ins attributs but not more then that, totally unrelated. Making it look like the same, as they have similitudes but not related as they follow diferent objectives and goals, and path.

i do not believe that vampires have anything to do with demons except for sucking blood as some demons do feast on blood but other than that there is no connection between the two.

I am not sure if Vampires are a recessive mutation or a progressive mutation of the human form, but I am confident that they are NOT demons. They are merely another form of human evolution or de-evolution.

I don't think a fallen angel is a vampire... some story's depict on vampires comming from 4 saints that made a deal... and they couldn't bare with what they had done so they would never look at daylight again... but those are story's the real truth is truly unknown on where they come from, but I don't think they are fallen angels and fallen angels are depicted as demons

i don't think vampires and demons are the same. Demons are fallen angels in the christian bible, but vampires are not even mentioned. Does that mean vamps were not around then?

I believe vampires were not known as well as they were later on--that's probably why they refered to them as "demons". Personally, I believe vampires are fallen angels.

I suppose it really just depends upon what you beleive we are. I read a story a few months back I beleive were vampires were really angels that drank the blood of demons and became demi-gods or something like that. *Shrugs* I really don't care. A vamp is a vamp. That's my opinion.
