I was 15....back on the farm for the summer from AZ. It was July early afternoon and a warm one outside , so I stayed in to play a little guitar on the stairwells second landing, (acustics being better there), Anyway, I felt the air change towards the top of the stairs , no real biggie, then from one room to the next across the hall a mid-aged woman in an apron crossed over carrying sheets , she was fuzzy, she looked out and stared at me, I could only stare back! She smiled and went back to the room she was in........I told my father what happend, that was the day I found out that the grandmother I knew my whole life was my step-grandmother. My real grandmother(dads mom) , died when he was 15 years old...so I never knew her , or about her . My father told me when he was a boy the house was filled with music , most all played one type of instrument or another, (of the 15 children she had , only 6 survived to adult hood, remember this was long ago, of the 15 two sets of twins.) In anycase , she loved music , and believed she stopped to listen when I was playing. I later visited my grandfather , who at the time was in his 90's...he had an old photo of her , when he showed me the picture , it was her , not the same dress, but it was her. I also found out she died as a result of a fall down thise stairs.
That was when I was convinced , I was not looking for it , but there it was. Makes no never mind to me if some don't believe it.....it was pretty real to me that day!
