Is this the whole Dr Doolittle thing? I do believe its possible you develop a close connection with your pets just as much as you do with family and friends. It takes more than understanding your pets body language to know something is wrong or if they are happy, or hungry, etc. And there are vets out there that develop an instant connection with animals. Even seen animals take and instant dislike to people or seen guard dogs want to rip one persons throat out and are playful as puppies with others... ok me :P

So I believe its possible yes.

animals and people can definitely talk through esp. some things may be harder for us to understand, though, because they are seeing things from completely different perspectives, but still esp with animals is most definietly possible.

well until we can learn their language or they speak ours lol we never will learn, but how do they know someone is in trouble and needs help, how do they get the message across to someone that their master is in trouble, we pick up on their feelings I think and that is extra sensory.

I would think yes. But theres also clews that you pick up first. Having a ct smile at you does give a message. Though some times you just know what it wants that the esp part. When you know what it wants with no clews or anyting.

A lot of times humans project their own human emotions into animals it seems.

I mean along the lines of things like "oh look, he's grinning!"
We take our own attributes and transfer them onto animals so that we can better relate to them.

Sometimes you just know what something is thinking just because you read their behavior, and we're probably way off most of the time. We may think our dog is thinking, "I love you." when they're really saying, "I'm hungry"

Who knows?

I agree that animals are as complex as we are. I have seen my hounder, Fu-Miss_Chu, display problem solving intelligence. Think of the marine life, they are finding out now that some species have a language as complex as ours. My pup does communicate with me using what means she has, vocal, looks and even gestures. I du believe that a simple form of ESP is also in play, but that could be from years of companionship.

I have heard of the "6th sence" in animals. They can predict natural disasters and if a person is about to have a heart attack or something like that. I think humans could, too, if they we were more in touch with nature, but no, we have to destroy it instead of communicating with it.
As for the esp thing, I'm not sure.

Animals speak for the most part in a silent language , through sent , and body postitioning and all that..it is a simple , and primitive form of comunication.....there is no rocket science to it. People , most people that is , don't take the time to" read" an animal and understand what he or she is saying to them.....as a horse trainer being able to "read" an animal is a handy thing know. They do have emotions and bad days like the rest of us.....those who are not willing to open up or are around them continually will never know this.

They can understand us, at least to a degree, so why shouldn't we be able to understand them? Communication isn't purely through words. Body language can tell you a lot, as can tone. We can tell by their behaviours, tones, stances, etc, if they're injured, depressed, hungry, wanting to play, and so on, and they can tell by ours if we just need to be cuddled.

well i know animals can sense things cause all of my fathers animals were like attached to him for three days straight before he had his heart attack. I don't believe that you can have esp with an animal. If you have the animal enough it is like a child and has a different sound for stuff it wants. Like a child has a cry for being hurt and another cry for just being wet. I notice at a friends house her dogs have a different whine when they want out from when they want something to eat or drink.

I think it's more of how strong your bond is with that particular animal. I used to go to a christian school but because I was interested in wicca, I was labeled a witch by the other students... One day the followed me home throwing stones at me. At the time, I had a horse I'd take out and ride everyday. One second, I'm being pelted with stones, the next, I've got an angry horse running down the other kids.

Right now, I have a cat I've owned for about 14 years now... He's 16 years old. Just before he turned 8, one of my dad's friends had gotten drunk and hit me. My cat proceded to claw his eyes out. And just recently, a dog tried to attack me and again, Clyde came out to fight my attacker....

I believed it happened not because I wanted it to... I never even thought about it... but because I have strong ties with my animals. I love them and take care of them as best I can. And in return, they protect me. :)

I think it could be possible, but have seen nothing to support it. I know for a fact that I don't mind read with my cats, although I know what they are thinking before they do it for the most part. I attribute that to me being an unusually attached human to cats, if you will. They also understand some of the looks I give them. Plus they are superiorly gifted with the "gift of flight" when the human gets pissed! lol

I assume it would be very similar to human partners, when you and your best friend or boyfriend/girlfriend can finish each other sentences, or come eye to eye without saying a word but you know what they are saying. Partly because you know how to "read" that person.

Its well proven that animals have keen senses, and I know there can be some kind of mutual understanding between humans and animals. I wouldn't know if that can be deemed as "esp" but something is definately shared.

I don't know about ESP, but animals have a sense about them. Some know when you are sad, or hurt, or happy. They pick up on this. As for us trying to understand them, I think that we have to 'listen' to them. Not by what they are meowing, or barking, but by their body language, and their actions. Like my quote on my profile says. Garfield the Cat said..."I know you can't hear me, but can't you just 'listen'?" I have a cat that is everywhere I go in the house. He sleeps with me. He knows what time I go to bed. If I don't go to bed at that time, he constantly meows at me and when I go to bed, he runs and jumps on the bed as if to say,"Ok, this is what I was telling you." Haha. So, I think you have to be in tune with that animal to understand what they want and what they are trying to tell you.
I am studying to be an Animal Massage Therapist.(Touch Therapy). It really makes me 'listen' to the animals and to watch their body language as well.
But I don't know if a person can really have ESP to really know what an animal lis thinking exactly. But, I don't have that capability and maybe some do. It would be great to really be able to communicate with animals through ESP though.

I have a friend who is an international class horsewoman. She does know what her horse is thinking. As to whether that is a psychic link or her being able to innately tell from its reactions I can't say. She has however used a horse whisperer and saw their skill as genuine.

Being able to interpret what others say and do instinctively does give the impression of telepathy.

I spend a lot of time with my wife obviously so we find that we react to things in the same way and can finish sentences. I don't think it's psychic as much as familiarity.

Some have mentioned connections. That is where I think this occurs. Just like we do with family, we can connect with animals too. How strong a bond it is depends on the person and the animals.

That said, some of what people think is ESP is nothing more than watching body language even with their dog. A good owner knows when their dog is stressed or annoyed by how they hold their shoulders, if their hair is raised, etc.

So while I am positive we communicate, I don't think it's ESP, I think it's just watching the bodylanguage of the animal and vice versa.

I have a friend of a friend who says that she can talk to dogs and what not, but she's a flake and I have a real hard time believing that she has any kind of animal connection whatsoever.

I think people can become attune to animals they way they become attune to people...by being around them: learning their habits and their eccentricities and whatnot

I am not sure. I think we can communicate already through time and effort- paying attention to each other and certain traits that we show- at least thats the relationship I have with my cat.

First off, I think animals and humans already comunicate through body language and even through words/barking. Specifically, trained dogs know their names and the commands just as the owner knows how to read a stubborn look.

If you really want to understand and communicate with animals, you have to have a bond with them. The same can be said for humans. I can tell when my dog is hungry, needs to go outside, or when she is just happy. She's a smart dog who has learned her name along with a few other commands.

Truly though communication is rarely just regulated to words. It is not esp but rather finely tuned awareness between the pet and the human.

I have always treated animals like people in a sense. I will have conversations with my dog and talk to her like she was an actuall person. My mom's husky will lick you wherever you are hurt. Then you can train your dogs or cats to do what you want them to. I do think that you can communicate with animals and you could know what they are thinking by how they are acting. I do think they have feelings. WHen I am gone and my dog comes up to me licking me and getting excited. I can tell that she missed me.

I agree, humans and animals can communicate. I was reading an article, documenting certain people who telepathically communicated with their pets.

I dont beleive it is esp, but I do beleive there is a conexion, as I can know what my cat is gonna do or doing or thinking most of the time when I just look at her. Even when she is not moving I just know, its like a pop up window in my head telling me: I jut pi on the coach, or I dont have water, ..
All this with no sound.

I believe it is possible to have such a strong connection with an animal that you can sense a change in ther behavior and know that something is up but i dont see the whole esp thing possible with animals. I mean, I know when my dog, Squishy, is worried about me or otherwise but I cant read her thoughts and I doubt she can read mine. Its more a matter of knowing each other and their moods. Know what I mean?

I think some people can have a close connection with their animals. but i dont really think people can go to like a zoo and understand what animals are thinking or feeling by really talking to them...

I think animals has a much stronger spirit energy than humans do, it helps to let them know what they are scensing. Animals has the ability to see ghosts or spirits that we can not. Our sences are naked to the unknown. Now if a person who has experiences with psychic abilities, may have no problem with tapping to animals spirit energy. Domestic animals are easier to read, cause they are more calm and relaxed. Wild kinds are just to difficult to understand. cause there mind is too highly active and alert.

I think animals definitely talk to us and in their own way talk to us. I know when I was sad about one of my cats getting killed, the other 2 sat with me to console me. I know for a fact they were telling me things were going to be ok.

So to answer your question? yes they can use a form of "ESP" to communicate.

I personally believe it can happen, especially if your brought up around animals...i think theres more of a connection with animals that you grow up with, a friend of a friend grew up with her pet dog & her mum took it out for a walk, the dog was in the park & decided to chase some birds, it ran across the road & got knocked over...at that precise time, she knew something had happened to the dog..she knew it was dead!! I thought it was rather eerie at the time!

I think it does boil down to the bond between human and animal, I am one of those that treats my animals more human than I should but I can't help it. I believe there is some esp involved but most of it is just body language. I think its more scientific studies that have show animals having some sort of sixth sense they use to know when someone has cancer for instance. Its just another mystery to life we shall never truly solve.

Sis, animals have a tendency to be able to sense things, most definitely. My grandmother once had a dog that could always tell when a thunderstorm was coming. But the thing is, we only knew that simply because she was scared of them and would look to us for protection, sometimes an hour before it would actually hit. The leaves on the trees would turn upside-down, the wind would pick up, and it would get suddenly humid. I think her dog picked up on the signs going on outside, and we were then able to tell what was going to happen, because we read her emotion, and understood what happens when she displayed it. We read their emotions, and I don't see why they wouldn't be able to either, with their heightened ability to read the signs of nature. As far as a telepathic ability, I'm not so sure it is.

Personally I think that animals don't get enough credit for the ablilities they do possess.I very much think they know what we are thinking and that they convey their thoughts to us. If they can love, and I believe they do, they have a soul.If one has a soul then anything is possilble. The Egyptians honoured many animals as gods, am kinda going in that direction*grins*

I'm sure it's possible. There have been times that I've been around other people's animals, not necessarily mine, and sent them a message by concentrating on that animal. It's cool to suddenly see them react and look around to find whose talking to them and come over to you. If you put some effort into it, there's a lot that you can communicate to animals.

I really do not know if animals can use it or not.. I realize that people can become very attached to their pets and have a strong connection with them that way. However, it is interesting when animals can connect with other animals without verbal cues. So, maybe it is possible between humans and animals.

I think when you live with an animal day in and day out you become accustomed to their personalities just as they do yours, so they know if they look at you a certain way and cry, they know that you will go get them treats or do something else. I would say it is almost like finishing your friends sentences, it isn't that you can read their mind, it's just you know them so well you begin to think like them.

I believe one can almost talk to their animals. Sometimes I get thoughts and will wake up and open the door to let my cat out when she's sitting on my bed staring at me and not even looking towards the door. Animals also take on childlike forms. My dog acts like a baby she needs to be with people at all times and held. I heard esp with animals can be done...I am currently trying to figure out how to do it.

I hope so!!!
Once animals and Humans can communicate. That would put an end to the Animal Trade industry.
I mean once an animal can testify to the way it's being treated. Most of these Fur and meat companies will be shut down!!!!
