Some think that we are made of energy. Some think we are made up of a spirit/soul. Some think we are just water and bones. . . but what do you think?

I seem to lean towards energy, which can be proven, over soul or science. Even though energy and science go directly together they do not agree. With energy it is thought that it is the breaking and recombination of the cells into protons, electrons, hydrogen, and other small energetic particules that produces memories, feelings, past lives and so on. With Science, it is thought that it is located in our genes, which btw is also part of the molecular structure anyways.

Want to hear some good views with supporting opinions, if possible. This subject interests me alot.

Every fiber of our being is made of energy including said spirit/soul. I believe there's already proof of that. Therefore, wouldn't all three theories be correct? We are indeed flesh and bone, energy, and spirit all in one.

I think we are energy... every reaction in our body is energy... when we eat, when we move... when we are happy or sad, all are energy movement... I think...

well i thank our bodys r made up of mostly water but our soles r made up of so much more there is emince energy, emotion, pain, love a spirit and bosiblith more

Harpia, you are actually right. We are the only things on earth that have the some of the elements that the sun - a star- has. I totally know where you are coming from.

Harpia the earth was made from a star (are sun) so in a sense your right. Truly right.

But we are made out of atoms which are made out on energy. Which even make up water. The soul can be said the be part of the energy that makes up atoms. It gets harder fast (since rocks gain souls, which is not odd just hard to put itno words right on many levels).

So far everone seems to be right.

Actually everything has an energy signature and we are part energy.

Also, we are carbon based so that would acount for the body.

Then we have the spirit or soul our feelings, power and energy as well, an actual essence of our being.

So it truly makes sense that we are all 3.

I have never really given this much thought, but I do feel that we have to be more than just a bundle of bones...

I think we carry ourselves in this biodegradable vessel , hence flesh and bone and the energy that is our soul inhabits it and drives it . Pretty cool when you think about it. What then happens when the body expires? Do we as energy disperse , and then absorbed into the whole that is the unisverse , or seek out other ways to reserect ourselves ? Time will tell for all of us.

I agree that we are all three. All are tied into together except for the fact most science tries to disprove having a soul.

we are made from alot of things. stars, earth, energy, spirit, bones. We have a little bit of everythng in us. Thats why when we die, our body is returned to the earth and our spirits/energy returns to the stars.

i think if u look at it only scientifically we are water bones and mass. but there is natural energy pumping through our hearts (hence when they defiberilate they use electric shocks) but energy is so much more than just that. and i feel as though each persons level of energy is different. some have strong energies, others do not.

i lean more towards energy than anything else, though water and bones is more tangible and convenient. Everyone creates a ripple in the pool so to speak, moving energy from one place to another, and we are all connected.

I think we are a little bit of all three. We are energy and so is our spirit. I believe we do have a soul. Everything about us is energy. Psy vamps have proven that we put off energy. Or at least it has been proven to me that we put off energy. And of course we are bones, flesh and water too. So all of these things make up a person.

Okay, the answers were pretty good up until right at the end. No come on...seriously.

Okay, let's look at it this way. I have seen photos of people that were amputated done by xray and chemical methods. You can SEE the amputated body part. Now, these atoms that are showing up as electricty have to maintain a core, kind of like gravity. That core would be our brain which emits small charges everytime you think of anything. It is here that the true work happens.

So there is little to disput with the energy, but the soul where exactly does that come from? Memory passed along a path of atoms with residue impressions left on them from another form?

How can anyone possibly know where our souls are truly from that is like asking Why?,Are our souls truly old,when we depart where will it go,does it die like our bodies or intertwine with the atmosphere?...Are we flesh over energy waiting to dissolve into nothingness or something grander?

You should know better than to ask me a question like that…especially not at 1:48 in the high morning. (LOL)

My interest led me to Wikipedia (don’t you just love that site???). One statement stood out, “immortal essence of a human - the seat or locus of human will, understanding, and personality”. Immortal essence…if one is immortal…what does that mean? Wikipedia again: “Immortality (or eternal life) is the concept of living in physical or spiritual form for an infinite length of time. What form an unending or indefinitely-long human life would take, or whether the soul, should such a thing exist, possesses immortality, has been the subject of much speculation, fantasy, and debate.”

But is the soul really a fantasy? We have a sense of awareness in a collective thought process. We are one of the few species that mourns the loss of a loved one. We love. We hate and we kill. We also save lives. We build wonderful things. We have souls. There are just some things you have to go on faith with.

Humans are energy. We are carbon and water. We are made up of molecular structure. Elements are constantly in motion making up the building blocks for everything. Therefore, the soul could very possibly be the memory passed along within the energy.

technicly we are just carbon units and other elements of the Earth... but in reality...who knows? There is so many theory and speculations and hypothesus, its kind of hard not to get lost in all this and to get confuse. Still I would admit that it is hard to only see ourselves as only elements, I never say a rock get nagry or dirt laugh, so I guess we are more then elements

Carbon is a great way of describing what we are made of.. It is fundemental.. In essence we are all Diamonds!! *smiles*

In an analogy; A car: Our body is the Car shell, Our internal organs/blood/bones/water is the Engine/wiring. Our Mind/decision maker is the Steering Wheel/Gear box, Our soul is the fuse Box, Our energy is the Battery.

We ARE a mix of all 3.. But In the first Instance we are energy as we are 80% water with carbon.

And carbon is a HUGE conductor and Source of energy.

I've got the answer to this one (though not a serious answer) I remember this nursery rhyme from when I was a little girl.

To me the answer is yes. We are made of energy, we are made of a soul, and we are made of flesh and bones.

The All is the source of pure energy, love and light, it is from this that we come and from this which we return. When we come to this plane we are sent here from the Summerlands to learn our lessons. The Divine spark (soul) which is in each of us is that essence of the All that returns to it's source upon death.

As far as why we don't accept the scriptures? Prove they are real and not just some man-written fictional drama.

All three i have to say.....

I would have to agree with the theory that we are made up of all three: energy, soul/spirit, and flesh and bones. Though, the flesh is a little more tenative and can change as we reincarnate through different lives. That's just my opinion though.

I think that it all depends on what you believe. Like a lot of people think that we are made up of star dust, or made up of flesh that traps our soul to this realm that we call a "reality".

Personally i think that we are made up of energy and flesh. Our flesh is what holds our energy and soul upon this worldly plane...but that is just my opinion...

Usually, I usually look at things from a scientific point of view. But when it comes to us, I do believe some things can not be explained simply with science. I'm a believer in souls. Though, I do not believe in a God or a Heaven/Hell; I do believe, when we die, our energy is collected and made into a soild soul. What happens next? I'm not sure I can say.

I think we are made from energy, water, and two parents or adults who had sex at the right time to make you living and breathing person right here right now.

Gotta say be sperm, your moms eggies, and blood, a complex organ system, water and other elements/compounds.

Theoretically, I could say that I am made of dust, and it would be true. I could say that I am made of a spirit or soul, and that would also be true. I could even say that I am made of intellect, imagination, and a talent for perception. Alas, by looking at this question in more than one way can triangulate exactly what our existance is made of.

Yet, if you are looking for the basis of our design... then you can examine the concept of 'energy'.

While 90% of the replies were very thoughtful and mind opening, some of you guys were reaching. There really is not an answer to any of the above. Science could be linked to the source, or better, founding of the atom which every single thing on the planet has. To what degree is another thing. Why can't your soul come from experience that i passed on a speeding atom? Why can't you just be? There is not an answer for that. And that is why I asked it. Every great idea was not thought up alone.

I still believe in the stars, but that still falls under energy to me.

Then enough of the guessing and personal opinions.
