ouija boards . what are they ? Are they evil ? What are they used for ? And what are the aftereffects of dealing with spirits ?

To use the Ouija board is a way to get into the connections with spirits, many people think it`s just a game, but it`s not. I "played" it with friends, when we were younger a lot of times and many scary things happend.

all i know about them is they are hard to get rid of. you throw it away and throw it away and throw it away and.......

well the reason why we use spirit boards is to cnnect with spirits of the asral plan and when using a spirit board u have to relise that NO IT ISN'T EVIL but u r opening up to spirits all over hoping to gain information and well no matter what u will always have a bad spirit and that could cause a polerguise to emerge left over energy from any type of spells or magic use and that could be a problem but there are ways to get rid of them!

they are soething that reaches across the realm into the ghost like world and brings them temporly to our world so that you can talk to them but if you decide to use on u should know that they can bring evil spirits to your house, if you ask them questions like when will I die, they do not know that because no one truly knows is, use one at your own risk

careful using one, you might let one out and get very anoyed real fast with them and have a hard time getting rid of them

sorry, in my opinion they are evil, they are a portal to something that most people are not able to control. with them you can let in spirits that you did not intend and not be able to get rid of them. all i can say is to each his own and be careful if you use one.

Ouija boards are used to communicate with spirits. They're quite dangerous (presuming you let in a diabolical spirit) and aren't toys. There are some asshats (like me) who don't abide by those standards. :D

Ouija boards are the connection to the astal plane in which spirits dwell, a telephone to say that these spirits may talk with the otherside. Be fore warned these are not play toys, they themselves can be the means of pure evil. I shall not be even in the same room as these boards, they effect all around and not just one person. Be warned do not meddle in places we are not suposse to be.

Ouija boards are not evil. The original intent is as stated to act as a medium in communicating with spirits. However, it is easy for any user to intentionally move it to certain answers in order to scare their friends so it is not the most highly thought of.
In general there are always potential consequences and problems with dealing with spirits.

Ouija broads, i think that's french for spirit, it's used to contact the dead spirits and demons pretending to be dead spirits, they can be dangerous. the more you use them the more you have a chance of opening a portal and letting a demon into our world and getting possessed your self

They can be eveil depeneding on the spritss your talking to or deailing with and they allow you to speak with the undead.

The ouija board itself is neither evil nor good.....infact it is not even dependent on the person who is using it. With ouija boards you are attempting to contact the dead....and if successful, some of them can get very very angry about being bothered as they are simply trying to get on with things.

Just because a person dies, does not mean that they do not have things to do.

Get a book called Alister Crowley and the Ouija Board.
Read it … then get a Parker Brothers board.
Un like skrying and seeing into the other side, this Alister and many others including my self believe it summons rather than see into. how else does the triangle move?
And yes it has it’s hazards as some entities like to drive you mad or live in you.

I believe they are Evil, a doorway to the spirits which not all people can control. Most people may not even know how to use an Ouija board correctly.

ouija boards are used to contact the dead, or any other entitiy that is around you. I consider them to be a portal for the entity that you are comunicating with. So if something happens to the ouija board after bringing a spirit back into this world then it can not be sent back.

It was me, Kendra (my girl bff), her bf Kyle, and his brother Dylan and Kyle had a red Guitar hero game with a skull on it, and I asked it to tip it over, forgetting Kyle had a REAL guitAr that was red with a skull in the next room, and it said yes in 18 seconds, and Kenny counted to 18 and something very loud happened in the next room, and when we looked Kyle's Guitar was completely a different way and there was a big dent and scratches in the wall . then a ghost appeared in the tv when we asked the ghost to turn it on, I seen the screen turn white and as Kenny and me and Dylan hid, Kyle seen a decaying face appear in the TV . and then it sent a large black spider across the board at Kenny because she has arachnaphobia . and we heard voices and doors slam, and like...stuff would touch us and the room got cold . and we asked it who it hated in the room, it spelled my name. They asked what it wanted to do to us, and it tryed going off the board . It hated us all, but it didn't like the girls. Me and Kenny. The ghost said he was gonna show himself to me . and when they asked what he'd do to me the thing tryed going off the board . the ghosts are in Kyle's house . weird things happen now .

Is this something nornmal that happens when you play with the Ouija Board ?

I told her a lot about spirits and thing that they do . Have I caused any more problems by telling her those things ? will I be a target ? I used to practice magick . I dont anymore now b/c of things like that .

Ouija boards are not evil. Yes some times, well most times you will draw in a dark spirit but the board it's self is not evil. It is just a device to help us communicate with the dead. That is all.

Ouija boards is French and German. Oui meaning the word for yes, and Ja in Germanf or yes. So the board's real name in english is the yesyes board.

I own a glow in the dark Ouija board. I am very careful not to use it by myself. I refuse to, because I'm afraid of getting possessed. I am unsure if that can or cannot happen, but i will not take my chances.

I would have to say that, even before the board I had communication with spirits, it's just made into words I can write down now. I don't use it often and it is hard to keep things out that you don't want coming in. If there is something coming from the other side that is meaning to do harm, be prepared to bless your home.

I think in the wrong hands they can cause great harm, but to normal people they do nothing.

a quija board is nothing to fool with if you have no idea what your doing....i use one now and then. but i take it very seriously.

OK, i'm not even going to read the posts...this one i'm going to just answer the well placed questions....
The board is just a piece of wood, or other material used in a ritual manner...
are they evil...not exactly, they are a doorway, is a door evil because hitler walked through it...no it's simply a door....
they are used in the attempt to contact and converse with the dead, and/or otherworldly entities..
the aftereffects...well that entirely depends on what you endded up talking to, the aftereffects can range from a good feeling from contacting and resolving issues with the deceased.....up to horrible possesion..
one thing to remember with a ouija board...they are like a party line...you pick up the phone and start talking....but just because someone says their name is fred...doesn't mean it is....you could be talking to literally any entity....and you have absolutely NO way to know for sure...

I wouldnt necassarily call it evil, though its not something to play around with. Know what yo're doing, know what you are dealing with and the cause and effect of what you are doing. Dont be stupid with it, reserch it first.

Good analogy about it being like a party line. Spirits can lie as well, you should always be cautious.

Ouija boards can be scary things... really not something that you need to play with... Your contacting spirits... so the board in and of itself is not evil... just the beings that you make contact with... It opens a door way for anything to come out of... it's a tool...

I have never dealt with ouija boards but other people in my family have and they say the board it self has its own personality and that if it doesnt like you it will do strang things it made my dads chair so hot it burned him now this is what i have been told! I believe that no they arent evil but you are opening up many doors and once opened they are hard to shut and mischvious or bad spirits are hard to get rid of so you must be careful when playing with one

ouija boards arent evil unless you contact the wrong kind of spirit...i dont use one and i dont plan to because there is always a chance that the spirt is angry and will get revenge on you...

Ouija boards themselves are not evil. It is who is using them and how they are used that determine where it falls on the spectrum of good and evil.

They are a tool and they are not evil. They are very dangerous, like a gun. But as long as you approach it with respect and a solid understanding of how it works and what you intend to do, then you'll be ok. As for effects, As with anything energetic, take precautions. Be clean and ritually pure, and most of all, operate with in a circle.

Like anything that you use to call upon souls or spirits it coul be dangerous, but it is fun as hell.

I have heard many storys about oujia boards, but there main purpose is to contact spirts good and bad. Personally ive never played one, but be carefull using one.

I tried using a Ouija board once when I was about 16 years old. It was right after a close friend of mine in school was killed in a car accident. I tried to contact him but what I got was something totally different. I haven't touched one since.

In my personal opinion they are portals... doors to other plains where not so evolved spirits are ... these spirits can contact the people and in that way you can find some answers ...because the ouija started like a game of questions and answers... but the worst part is getting rid of the spirits you called...

Well, they aren't just soemthing to fool around with. There are a lot of spirits out there that you could make very mad! Use them only seriously, and with safe and harmless intent.

sometimes they can be mean evil what ever you want to call that. but somrtimes they arn't that's pretty much all i know about them

I like the analogy that they are like a gun, simply a tool...but one that can be very dangerous if misused...
and a very good point was made that i missed....always use a ritually cleansed area, and act as you would in any major summoning....including banishment after you are done, and a closing of the circle......at least for those who use rituals in their magic

An Ouija board is said to be a portal to communicate with the afterlife. I have used an ouija board many times so far in my life. And man can i tell yu some of the things that have happened to me while using it. The after effects of using the ouija board are possible demon entities invading your person, home, or more commonly the place where you had used it. There are many risks in using this portal. be sure that you know all of the possible risks before even purchasing one. You don't want to unleash something that cannot be controlled, or will be regretted later on.... Have Fun!

I have never use a ouija board but I have had a couple of friends who have and something happened, the window ended up shattering and their glasses flew across the table... I believe the boards themselves aren't evil also I believe you must know and understand what you are doing before you start.

My Mum believes they're evil and you should leave the dead in peace but I'm not so sure. I've never used one but I wouldn't want to mess with something when I don't know the conseqences of my actions.

You wont catch me using one. I dont believe it in itself is evil. Its just a tool. I think you should certainly know what you are doing before you dabble with one. Sure anyone could probably use one, but give a chimp a paintbrush and he probably wont paint you a masterpiece either...

I have had many experiences with ouija boards and the majority of them have been decent and good experiences.

However, i have had some very nasty experiences with ouija boards. I would not like to go into the exact details as i am sure it would worry and/or scare many of you.

I will say however (just to strengthen my original post) that it's not the actual ouija board that is evil, nor the person who is using it (although i have to say that evil attracts evil), it is infact all down to the spirit or entity that communicates with you.

Please be very careful when using ouija, and please know that special protections that are available for the use of ouija do not allways work. There will always be something that is stronger than you.

I do not own or use a board anymore...mine was evill...pure evillll..someone tried to exit the board and threaten me..I finally had to burn it and will have nothing further to do with them. I dont care what stores say about them being a "toy"..bull s@#t!! I would recommend against them..just my opinion, mind you.

Most spirits don't like it when you try to contact them with an ouija board. My sister has one around here somewhere. Yes, they're a nightmare to get rid of. One of my cousins had that problem of trying to get rid of her ouija board when we were kids.

ouija boards are fun to use if you use it the right way. you can always find out stuff just got to know how to ask what you want to know

I, having used several, and for many years know that the ouija is a tool. It is an instrument that corporeal beings can use to connect with entities of a "spirit" form or non-corporeal beings. We use this tool and weild it for good or evil. Yes you must be careful, but you will draw in that which you seek. Sometimes you connect with whatever is closest to your nature..or inner self and draw it out. Other times you can summon whatever you wish. I would suggest investigating them before using them to a novice. but in answer to your question no they themselves are not evil, it is what you summon that can be. but if you have strength enough, and knowledge, you will not draw out the so called evil ...

I indeed have summoned both what I was seeking, and things that were attracted to my inner self. I really wasn't too happy to learn that my inner self was not quite as nice as my outer self, but hey, it's the price you pay when you use such tools.

If you need anymore clarification, tho I doubt it seeing all the responses; they have a great potential for letting ALL good and bad spirits in. And unfortunately, once that door is open, there's no way to close it...or so I'm led to believe. Think of it as the same that happened to Kevin Bacon in "Stir of Echoes"

Depends on the nature of the spirit. If it is a dead person often their are no aftereffects other then the conversation. But the other spirits what can get through via the Ouija board can be quite harmful.

i only know what everyone else know. i tried the ouija board with my mom, but nothing happened. shes played it before with others, and said wierd things did happen and now our house is haunted.

Ouija boards arn't anything to play with.They work,but thing's can come through you really don't want to mess with.Homemade ones are the best,but if you don't know the proper way to make one DON'T TRY IT.

Well, i have used one exactly once and had a terrifying experience when I was younger. And have never touched one since. This was before I knew what one was. As far as your question about is this normal.... it all depends. I have heard many say nothing happens and I have heard many say they have had experiences good and bad. From what you said, I would try and get rid of the thing and never use one again. Unless you are with someone who can handle such things.

Ouija boards derive the name from the french and german words for yes (oui and Ja) don't ask me why they decided to call it that lol i have no idea, anyway while ouija boards are not inherantly evil they are all to often manipulated from whatever decides it wants to come through on the other side to enter our realm, however the process doesn't stop there once a pathway has formed, it will not close very readily it can take anything from hours to years to close that is why while useful as a contacting tool its best not to use one as once you have finished your session that won't be the end of the action so to speak. my advice don't do them and if your really can't bear not to then at least research what your getting into

My ten pence worth is that the board is not evil, but what you summon up may be Malevolent. Somespirits appear to be nice, but they can be manipulating the user to bring them out.
I have never heard of anyone summoning an angel, from a Oui Ja Board.
I had a bad experiece with one, when I was 15, I was with a group of friends, and we just called out to "anybody" there- BAD MOVE.
The cold tap started running in the kitchen and the server hath burst open as we all sat around the table.
We pissed our underwear and destroyed the board. and I have NEVRER dabbled since... I believed what I see.

They can be TRULY negative, but the user must KNOW what he/she is doing throught the whole process.

If you are with a master at Oui Ja Summoning, then i would say it could be a cool experience.

Like Lavisbre said, ouija boards are just tools. Sometimes they are used for evil intentionally. That doesn't make them evil. They are dangerous tools though. People should not use them if they don't know what they are doing. Like operating a car for the first time with no lessons, ouija boards backfire on people with no experience.

Huh? It doesn't matter who made it, where you bought it, or what it's made of. You're using it as an instrument to communicate with the other side. The same as Astral Projection but it's a lazier way of doing it and you can't control who or what will come in contact with you through it. Always protect yourself before and after your session, the entities that adhere to Ouija boards aren't usually the happy-go-lucky type and tend to cling afterwards.

Ouija boards are a way of communicating with the desised basically the other side. They are not evil nor or they good then are neutral. If I were you Id take great caution in doing such a thing becuase spirits can " get out" they can stay in your home and sometimes youll get a good kind but you can also get a very negative spirit. so take great caution in how you perform it and reasearch it well, so you know exactly what you are doing it isnt good to screw around with things you do not understand. )O( Brie )O(
