It is reported that if a Ghost is in the same room or Place as us, the air will feel chilled. Is this true or just a person experiencing fear and think they are experiencing this from fear?
from my experience in the Paranormal this isn't always the case.. The coldness can be so many things.
I have experienced Poltetgeist activity, the room remained 'normal' temperature throughout the whole experience.
I personally don't pay much attention to room temps when investigating a paranormal, or unexplainable, Because it can honestly come from anywhere.
I remember seeing a ghost in my house when I was fairly young. I don't know if the air was cold of not because I was sweating like crazy from fear. I certainly didn't feel cold. However, this could have simply been the overactive imagination of a child since I haven't seen a ghost in many many years.
Well, I watched an episode of ghost hunters last night and supposedly the ghost in the room cooled the air at the request of the team. a very compliant ghost. the ghost claimed to be jay sebring, one of manson's victims
I meant that I wasn't cold at all. I was actually feeling very hot and flushed, so perhaps I wouldn't have notice the coldness even if it was there.
I think it's possible, but it doesn't have to happen every time a ghost or a spirt is in the room.....in my experience though, I've noticed a slight chill sometimes and then I'll get the feeling that I'm not alone, and my first thought will be that there's a spirit in the room.
in my personal experience, it doesn't always get cold. sometimes it gets cold, sometimes hot, and sometimes it stays the same.
Yes lord and all said that Sharon tate haunted the house as well. And the ghost was asked if he could drop the tempature to 62.0 around the meter they used. And sure enough Jay held the thermometer and the tempature did drop wow guess i should get me one of those K2 meters looks like it really worked I have never known J. and Grant to lie or fake an investigation. The did experence cold spots.I have to when I have incounterd good EVPs
Yes this is true... Some people can feel when a ghost or spirit is in the room... The air gets colder and your pores raise and you will smell something strong, it can be a good scent or a bad one... If it's bad it will be a bad spirit and if it's good it will be a good one.
Not always true I have encountered bad spirits that smell sweet and have a calm atmosphere around them and latter caused havoc have encountered good spirits who were surrounded by rotten smells and a anger latter the air calmed down and they caused no harm. You can not all ways go by the smell or the feelings..
ive only incountered a cold spell a couple times when ive seen ghosts, so i think it just depends upon where you are at,,,,
I've never experienced the temperature change, just the nagging feeling "something's there."
I had a cold chill when in the presence of a 'ghost'. Once. During winter.
So no, I don't think its true.. It's likely that its a reaction of the mind only.
well there are different ways to look at it sweetie
when a ghost is angry the room can become can become chilled
and when a ghost walks through you you get a sudden chill and you begin to shake
When I was younger my mother told me that she came to my door one night and heard voices, as she looked in there she saw me talking to someone, telling them to move thier game borad piece. And as she watched the piece moved on it own. Now I do remember some of that kind of thing happening to me, see and playing with ghost at the time thou I didn't know they were ghost at the time. Now with the chilliness in the air nope thats not always the case i was never cold when i was around them.
Childish innocence could have a lot to do with that, knowing that you were playing with a ghost could have been quite scary at the time.
I think its myth.
if your in a really hot room, its unlikey the room is going to go cold because a ghost is present.
I have seen what I consider to be ghosts - or at least it's the best explanation that I could come up with at the time. I don't remember any temperature difference. I would agree that it's probably going to depend upon the personal experience.
well there is two things, for exemple where I live, it gets really hot as the heater goes to max suddenly, otherwise the room gets cold, I knwo its the ghost that affect the heater, so we wont detect them.
I think it depends on the spirit, but thats just my opinion.
Cold shivers from fear..maybe.But,i think it has to do with
when the ghost or spirit charges up with energy from arround you.when the positive energy is gone..it leave behind cold spots,or dark engery..only for short periods of time.usually when a spirit does this,it wants to do somthing that takes
the energy to do so,like push someone..to speak,or create orbs or hauntings.
It depends sometimes you can get a cold feeling other times it doesn't get cold at all . My mom told me I saw ghosts since I was a baby . But I remember seeing them at 4 .
The theory is that the spirit will take in all the energy around them in order to manifest itself, including heat, therefore making the room colder. Personally I believe this is true, for I have experienced a destinctive drop in temperature when a spirit was present.
children see ghosts because they are pure do u still see the ghosts?
i think that it is true most of the time, but not always... i have experienced spiritual presences with out the chill... but it rarely happens...
i have to agree with minx. there are many factors involved with running into cold spots. sometimes the cold spots are in the same place as the spirit is in, but there are also cold spots in places that are not haunted either. it just depends on the place and if there is a draft or if its cold outside and its the coolness coming from the windows.
I don't think it is fear that changes the temperatures. I have encountered several cold-spots... and they are QUITE specific to a certain place, no vents, nothing around it all... no gradual change in temp... a drastic one all the sudden.
I have heard this theory.
I have not noticed it when I sense Spirits.
I usually get a tingling skin feeling.
well it wasn't long after my daddy died..... i was alone at home and the room got cold and i could smell the after-shave he used to use...... no one else was home at the time so there must be something to it.......
It does get cold just not with every experience Why? that I do not know. We lived in a haunted house for years and there were times that when the woman was in a room the windows would literally get frost on them.... On the inside. We did not know why it happened only at certain times. I would like to know, actually.
its true that some spirits will take the energy from the room which causes the cold...but first examine the area and make sure there are no other sources for such a thing. Some spirits can make you feel weak as well.Remember that you need to look at this as scientifically as possible.
well i heard if its a good spirit then the air will be cold and if its an evil spirit the air will get warm........i usually get a cold chill up my back when there is a spirit present
i believe it is true and that it is more than a persons fear i can recall when i lived in a house that strange ocurrence happened that there would be cold spots and even to the point where you could see your breath in front of you i think they just emit cold at certian times depending oh what or how their mood is.
Its dependant on your response to the level of sensitivity. When Ive dealt with demonic spirits, and with ghosts, the enviornment changes slightly, or greatly depending on the energy that the "entity" is composed of. Its also from nerves being aware of something around, that you have to feel to know is there.
They are a pain in the backside most often then not. But that cold is a friendly reminder that you need to be on gaurd, and carrying something incase you need an effective bansihing ward. I like smoke balls with runes written on them, the sulfur repells all the spirits if things like the LBRP don't work or the spirit is obstinant in responce to what your business is with it.
In my own experience, the room has always gotten colder and the hairs on my skin have always stood up when a spirit is around.
I don't ever keep a window open so that I can keep the dust to a minimum in my home, so I know it doesn't get cold because of a draft.
I think that yes, it is possible that a spirit or ghost could draw energy from the air and make it colder... and yeah.. saw the episode of ghost hunters.. and that was a very compliant ghost to do exactly what they wanted it to do... was still a good episode..
Is it from them draining the energy that is in the room like ghost hunters say or is it the presence you just feel from them.
everyone can have a different reponse to when a ghost is present. These being from it being cold, hot, to the hairs on their neck standing up. Each person reacts differentlydepending on the situation.
i think in general where spirits are there will be cold spots it may or may not be a personal feeling of fear it could just be what happens to such surrounding tempaturees when there is a active entity near by.
I think the reason that a spot gets chilly when a ghost is around is because a ghost takes energy and heat is a form of energy so when a ghost takes the heat out of the spot they are in they will leave a cold spot behind them and when a person steps into the place the ghost was they feel the cold spot the ghost left behind...
maybe the 'bad' spirits, you feel shivers or cold from.
and,it 's also the energy being tooken by the ghost as well.
i'm thinknig..if its a 'good' spirit..i wouldnt think you would get a cold feeling from it at all,but a warm comfort feeling.
some times you get cold feeling and sometimes there are hot spots . i know cause I ghost hunt on the side with a paranormal group
Sometimes just before a spirit manifests they draw energy from the surroundings. Often a spot in one area of a room will suddenly become very cold. For example the temperature throughout a room may average 75 degrees but in one corner or area, the temperature will suddenly plummet to 50 degrees or even colder. This is a sure sign of a spirits presence or a soon manifestation.
i still feel that ghost and cold spots are not a mere coincidence and that they will always occur where there are spirits.
I personally have never heard of hot spots, but i guess if a spirit or ghost can take heat and leave behind a cold spot then a spirit or ghost could take cold and leave behind a warm spot, but that sounds kind of weird to me...
Perhaps It depends on the ghost. Maybe if they died and it was distinctly cold out the ghost appears and the cold comes with it. The same with heat. But of course temperature wouldn't matter to every ghost, therefore not all ghosts would come with a temperature change. Or smells or anything like that. Maybe it's just about what the ghost remembers most.
Just a thought, i have no idea either way, but I have experienced temperature change.
well some say that it is cause from a ghosts being in the spot at that time. some mebers have said the they dont pay attention to cold spots or warm spots because they can come from anything and that is true however its best to look for and try to find the cause of the cold or warm spots and go from there. If you have a cold spot and yuo have searched and ruled out that it was cause by a window or door draft or air conditioning then you have a good chance that it was cause by a ghosts or the paranormal.
From what I have heard, a cold spot can be caused due to a ghost trying to manifest. This process requires the ghost to draw energy from the surrounding area, causing the cold spot. Personally I agree with most everyone else, there is no definite reason to cold spots.
yes its true. i have had first hand experience with ghost. when they enter a room the temp goes way down. sometimes cold enough to see your breath.
In my experience, it is not always the case. It seems that the ones who do have that effect are usually the destructive type, seeking to rob the energy of everything around them, including the very air itself.
i lived in some houses with ghosts and i think it depends on how close the ghost is to you and what intensions the ghost has. because sometimes when i noticed a certain ghost it was a bit colder but then again sometimes it also got warmer when it was near
I think that it is true. Ghosts are the spirits of people that have passed on, so they are dead, they can not produce their own energy to move themselves and objects, so I think that they either draw the enegy from the air around them or just take it directly from a human if one is around.
i believe that it always doesn't have to be that way. some spirits can make the air cold...others don't change at all...and this is coming from personal encounters
I don't believe it is fear that one feels. The cold is from a spirit being in that area or called"cold spots"
i remember when i was a child i seen ghost all the time. yes they are cold to the touch, for i use to play with one all the time. to what they look like imange a person covered in a glowing light and that all you see it that light. ghost are drawn to the warth of the haman body.
I think it is probably both. Although I have only seem "ghosts" out of the corner of my eye, I haven't experienced the contact, which is said to be cold. I did get a "chill" which made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. So, I say both!
i don't think it is always the case because i don't usually get cold when a spirit or paranormal activity is going. you don't always get cold when that happens
Sometimes there are cold spots and sometimes you get hot spots. There was this haunted mansion near where I live and we went in it once and alot of strange things happened . I can see and feel ghosts and that place was filled with unhappy spirits. Satanic worshipers started going there and caused the activity to get worse for years thy tried to tear it down but things happened . Finally last year they demolished it but they havent been able to build on it yet .
well if it's true, then sh*t it means like everyday my grandma and grandpa come to visit me like five times a day...
I think ghost exist, and if they exist they have to be something I mean, to have some kind of body even if the body is out of pure energy
so it may result getting the air cold...but I dunno...I'll better think that this is bullsh*t coz I dun wanna freak out everytime it happens
In my experience with ghosts there isn't always a change in temperature......usually there is no change whatsoever. Though sometimes I have gotten a "chill" when a ghost was present who was upset or angered
I've always felt it to be true.... I'm not easily scared though so I know it's not because of me worrying about whether or not something goes bump in the night....
My experiences like that there are usually chills that run up my spine. I on occasion have caught what I thought was an aberition.
It does happen but not always. It has to do with the energy in the room/place that the ghost/spirit gathers. The area can be very cold or it can be very warm, just like a human beings body temperature. It all depends.
Ghosts need an energy to stay on earth. I think they take energy in the form of heat
Well me personally have always felt a drop in the temperture when I felt a presence so have to say yes on my part. I do think it get's colder..........
For if we as general are afraid of the unknown death, spirits would you assume some of that cold is a enternal fear that we can not control. I am just wondering for if a spirit has the ability to pull the energy from a room and put a chill in the air, why would he not affect the energy that a body stores or the energy in the applainces that we use so much. a thought to puzzle ones mine.
i believe so, that's why so many people get goose bumps. because a ghost is in their presence. wow, i must have a follower on me then :)
as i have said in other posts i have had several exsperiences with ghosts and one time i have felt coolness but not with all exsperiences... i wouldnt really know why that would mean to feel cool when you are in that situation
Recent personal experience:
Two nights ago there was the most awsome looking moon just after dusk. "Blood on the moon" is the phrase that came to mind. I wanted to get a picture of it driving home. So instead of pulling into my very wooded yard I went over to the next road and pulled over by the little cemetary there to get a few shots of the moon over the treeline. I noticed it was really chilly there by the cemetary when it was hot and muggy everywhere else. And then when I got home and started looking at the photos, I found an astounding number of orbs in one of the shots.

A room can get cold or or a certain spot in a room can get cold if there is a spirit or an entity present.
Ghosts And Cold . The cold spot is a sign that the ghost is there. With having some experinces I have had I can sence the presance of Ghosts now and feel them.
They are real and stuck here for unfinished business.
I have heard people say that if a ghost is mad or upset that the temp will drop.
I also beleive it depends on the type of ghost it is....
i think it is ture well i felt cold spots in my old house and the heat would be up high and ur ll almost sweating but not in thatone spot unless it moved
the temperature changes to let us know of their presence, and its a nice way to say hello.
it is often used as a form of ghost detection..temp variations
I don't recall the temperature changing at all any time I've encountered a ghost.
I personally believe they do cause cold spots EVERY time they appear, but it depends on how close they are to you whether or not you feel it. You can still experience paranormal activity without feeling the cold, but you may not be close enough to notice it. Also, you may be so distracted from whats happening, feeling a temp drop may be the last thing you would notice. I have never heard of or had experiences with hot spots. Doesn't mean it doesn't exist, I just haven't had it or heard of it.
i have a friend who is in to the science of ghosts , i will ask her if that is the case
That can be I don't know but I also heard that they give warmth
I think that ghosts may generate a cold spot in the room...i was watching sumthin on t.v and these people asked the spirits to show themselves by making the tempature drop..and they did..so i believe that they do make a room or anrea colder...maybe depending on there energy
There was a house we used to live in, in Frostproof, Fl where the walls would sweat so bad we had to sponge mop them daily. The hallway day or night was just creepy. The hairs would stand up on the back of my neck and arms and it always felt cold.
Kinda wish J and them would go check that place out, if it's still standing... :D
Growing Up With Spirits , I Never Felt Coldness Just Slight Breezes
Well I don't know if this has been said aleady, but I reckon that a manifestation of any sort takes energy, so the 'spirit' takes the energy from the heat in the atmosphere around it. I don't know how true that is, but it's always made sense to me. It also explains why some people feel drained of energy when in the prescence of spirits.
A story relating to the certain chill,
It is not a cold chill, more like a nervous chill. You know someone is there chill, the air gets musty, your thoughts breath like you cannot think for that moment, it is hard to describe. I was sleeping in an adjacent room from the kitchen, I had awakened out of nowhere thinking that my girlfriend at the time when to get a bite. Not the case. Instead, I looked from the bed into the doorway, and the only thing I saw was a sort of phosphorescent, kind of florescent...Green glowing arm. No sound, just barely floating in such a way that it looked as though it were just there. I do not know how to discribe it. After the arm had moved away from the door, as the body was on the other side of the door, I felt like I needed to stay out of the kitchen, like the spirit wanted its privacy for the time being. The certain chill only went away about 5 minutes later...Not cold, but I don't know...A bit airy, like the air conditioner was right on top of me.
I will leave you to your thoughts.

somtimes that when an unknown ghost is around you the room is chilled...
I know that when I was with my roomate, everytime a gost or spirit or demon was entering the room, it was ether cold, or extremly hot du to the fact the entety would increase the heater but pushing the button to max. And it was nether of us, it was really the spiritual being
well i don't avout some ppl but it has happened to me ..... sitting around no fans ...... and all of a sudden get a nasty cold chill .... i think it can happen
For the no chill response,
When I was a tour guide in New Orleans for the Haunted History Tours, we had a certain story about a pirate of whom ran down the alley on the right side of St. Louis Cathedral. It was said the pirate would run down the alley chasing someone then shots would ring out.
I was walking down that alley on the way to work, once again saying good day to the security guard on watch, as usual reading the book. Several feet past the guard, near the first middle of the alley, I began hearing footfalls. I was walking. they were running directly behind me. I neared the lamp post at the end of the alley and stopped...By this time, the footfalls should have past me, but no one past me. I said to myself, when I turn around, the footfall sound will disappear. Sure enough, I slowly turn around and the security guard is looking at me as though my routine was broken...I never turn around. Eh, I guess the spirit had better things to do, but I felt no heat...Hey, it is New Orleans, 90 degree heat index...What do you think.

Im not sure if its alwsays true.... i lived in a haunted house and sometimes the air would feel different in different rooms
