The title says all. What is after death? I just want to broaden my knowledge after this.

I believe if you have not finished what you set out to accomplish then you come back in another live to complete your goals. When you have successfully completed your lives goals then you remain on the otherside.

I think there is some kind of afterlife...what it is exactly, I really have no idea.

To be honest, and I mean no disrespect towards you, I feel you can't ask a human what is beyond death. It's only logical that those who you ask have to be alive to reply back to you. Also, those who have returned from being briefly dead, can't say for sure what they saw, since it is highly possible that the brain creates images in their eyes kind of like video-feedback, but that is of course, hypthetical.

I'd ask the deity that you believe in about this and hope it replies.

Though it may seem somewhat depressing, my personal belief removes human ego. As humans are energy, once the energy container is destroyed - that energy dissipates and returns to the rest of all energy. There is no personal recollection unless the spirit is strong enough to remain in tact or a reasonable facsimile thereof, and so you have ghosts and poltergeists.

Unfortunately, this also means that there is little chance of past life experiences, wherein human spirits return to human bodies. Our past lives may be comprised of an element from a dog's, cat's, horse, fish, and/or tree energy. By the same token, our own spirits may be divided among a dog, cat, horse, fish, and/or tree.

Death is when you wake up.

I agree with RavenKnight. I believe in reincarnation, you learn from the lessons you gained in this life and if you didn't get it right then you are reborn. But there are some spirits that are reborn even though they have learned all they need to know who came back to help those of us who just can't seem to get it right!

After death you get another body. The soul is eternal. When a body is no longer useful it is thrown away, and since the soul is eternal, consecuentially you get another body.

You do not say: I hand, I eyes, I hair, I legs, I nose. You say MY hand, MY hair, MY legs, MY nose. So therefore the conclusion is: we are not this body. So the subject that is speaking through the body is eternal. The soul is eternal. When YOU (not the body) leave this body you have right now, you take another body.

My answer is in the form of a question...Why do we need to believe in anything in the form of the here after? Why must we succumb to the rationality that there is something out there beyond the veil of life?

It is out of the fear of death itself that we succumb to the beliefs, theories, and religious practices just to make the thought of death less painful. We will know when the time comes exactly what lay beyond the great veil of death.

No one knows what is after death only of what has been written on scrolls a couple thousand years ago. Translated correctly? Maybe, then put into what we know as the bible. HOWEVER there are more than 150,000 different religions out there and it was all started by one person saying " follow me for I know the truth" .... belileve what you want to believe you will know it in your heart if it's correct or not. Listen to yourself and make your own sense of it all. Welcome to the real world, and may god save you, if he sees it fit to do so.

When we die, we sprout wings and get to have as many red M&Ms as we want!

Personally I think once I pass I will be reunited with loved ones who have passed before me, stay in limbo for a bit then when I am ready I will be reincarnated into another body , into another life..

I, for one, think you simply cease to be. And, I think that's a good thing. A nice, peaceful rest after the crap this world puts you through.

I believe that once i pass, i will hopefully meet my family and freinds who have passed before me. Other than that i don't know wot it happens after that last nite.

i believe that if you die your life is checked and if there was something you missed or maybe something you didn't learn, you have to come back and finish it...

the answer to your question depends highly on your beliefs... and when you want to believe.

to me, i dont know for sure what happens after death, but i romance the idea that we (or our souls) go where ever it is you really want to be. you could call it Heaven if you want. but in my opinion everyone's Heaven will be different. and you can cross over into other peoples after lives to visit them.

but thats not backed by any of my religious beliefs or any research. its just what i hope for. you know what i mean? i hope to be able to catch up with the people ive lost. and be in a place where no stress really exists.

After virtually dying 3 times, and being clinically dead once, from drug overdoses (which werent intentional) I dont think there is anything all i remember seeing was pure red. I think we live we die and thats it....

There have been a couple of threads lately that have dealt with this.

Mostly it comes down to personal belief.

I am a Spiritualist so yes I believe in life after death.

Others of course would have different ideas.

It would be interesting to know what if anything has promted you to ask this question ?

Ahhh the great final mystery, I think this is simply one of those unanswerable questions. Don't get me wrong, I am curious, I just think it is impossible to know for certain. It could be very divine or you could just become worm food. I'm not going to venture a guess.

I do not think any one will ever know the answer to this question until they die, but in my own personal opinion I think that once we die we either walk the earth forever forced to watch our loved ones continue living or either we just relive our lives forced to watch every mistak that we have made over and over.

Since eternaty is not definable in the true sense, life after death means something different to each person.

some say people will put you in a deep hole in the ground, and you spend a long time not moving very much.

well my aunt says that if you have been good, youll go to heaven. but if youve been bad you go to hell, and if you didnt get something right during the time ur alive u are born again to try and make things right and if you not baptised you go to (i forgot what she calls it) but its a place thats like heaven but ur never in gods presence because you still have ur sins hanging over you soul..

To me all that is after death is another life, just continuing on you never really die just reincarnate into another person :)

The after life is coined Supernatural simply because its something we know happens but know little about the details it.....The term used Death refers to the death of the physical body and doesnt refer to the spirit, that would be spiritual death. As a paranormal investigator for years of my life there is one thing that I am certain of that adter physical death there is life but in a much different reallity.

To be honest, I don't think you will find your answer here. How can anyone of us know what's beyond the grave? Seeing as how we're not in one.
There could be a number of possibilities for us in the end.

Heaven a place with all your loved ones are there incl. pets ,because it wouldn't be with out our little ones. I believe you can come back to "re-do"/do what you missed in a past life if you so wish.

I don't think anyone can say for certain where they are going to end up after they die. Some may be reborn while others are done their time here and go somewhere else. Also who knows if where we go is based on our own personal belief systems
