A great war once took place in India at around 1600 BCE....The Mahabharata. And the weapons used in the war were very advanced....And it had ingenious military strategies. There are a lot of references indicating that it was a full scale nuclear war.....Numerous instances about Flying vehicles rising on a pillar of fire have been written in the book. All the soldiers had bullet proof armors and vests. This huge battle took place for months and almost the everyone were killed. It was a fight to the death. Now imagine if there were any survivors left, they made their own city...and started teaching all the other early civilizations like Egypt to build their architectural structures and all and equip them with technical knowledge...Now just humor me..What if that particular city came to be known as Atlantis....Therefore that would take the concept of extra terrestrials out of the question..My point is what if after imparting the basic knowledge to the early civilizations these people destroyed their own city because they knew how dangerous was the knowledge and technology possessed by them from experience.Maybe they still live somewhere here on Earth....Who knows?
I would like you to think about this and reply..
Thank you....
i believe there is an underground city
And flying vehicals, other then planes and hellicopters,
I read about that also once, . if we all paid more attention and focused on other things instead of disbelieving then maybe we can find out where these things are or if they are real.
I guess it is possible but i do not think that anyone has ever found anything in india to prove something like that ever happend...
There is a lot of archeological evidence for past civilizations including jewlery made in the form of aircraft from South America, Images of lightbulds and spark plugs from Egypt and destroyed cities in Asia with a radioactive signature there are many more examples..just google it.
Anyway the earth and humanity has gone through several "ages' all ending in an ice age or other major event which of course would erase most of the physical evidences, however many stories remain.
We have advanced artifacts dating back at least 5,000 which of course coinsides with several devistating events e.g ebs and flows of an ice age, meteoric events and a major volcanic erruption which caused a bottle neck in our population.
Long story short lol, we have a great deal of support for advanced civilizations well beyond accepted dates for humanity.
Oh yeah and then theres the whole ancient astronaut theory but I wouldnt put much stock in it.
As I am an atlantian historian, most of what you said is slightly correct. Though I will reveal nothing in post, I will tell you that earthquakes around the world might not be caused by the geological shifting of rocks.
Feel free to message me for more info.
I believe it's the first time I have heard that particular story.
Without credible evidence I can only believe that is is only a story.
Which by the way is no bad thing...why do people get upset when others do not believe their ' theories' ?
In The UK we have little evidence for the obviously advanced people who built stong henge and complexes like Avebury. More than mere cavemen
This is just my theory and not a story....If you have read the Mahabharata one will understand my theory better...Like i said there have been numerous proof for a highly advanced civilizations...Even genetic cloning has been mentioned....A piece of flesh enclosed in a small chamber and after a period of time a baby is created....I don't want to brag about my country but science has prevailed and practiced for a long time here..There were actual surgeons back then who knew about the human body better than most did at that time....
I'm not saying this is the way it all went down but still it can be possible.I'm just associating India into it because at that time as per the books the civilizations here were very advanced..I don't know about the other civilizations that existed then thats why i didn't mention it.And i know of no other great war that had so many references to being advanced to such a level.......
Your thoughts please......
to be honest, I think we are reject aliens that were left here to be studied and then are obserbed to see how we have progressed over the ages, I believe it speaks in the bible (sorry for referencing this) that there is a discription of a spaceship. But anyhow I think we have been visted from time to time and given technology to aid us. My personal beliefs. No the story you speak of may have come from another planet and left here, maybe Mars, Mars is so similar to Earth in some ways.
But all this took place 1600 years before Christ.....And if they were indeed that advanced they could have made space ships too...What if they visit us from time to time to see how we're progressing....What i mean to say is what if the U.F.O's are only humans...
I think the main gist of the theory is one of many legitimate positions to take on the Mahabharata. Certainly it's not right to simply write off the texts as impossible. The texts exist and while they've never been dated to an exact time, they're certainly thousands of years old and it creates astounding questions.
As to the theory of Atlantis, I don't discount the possibility that Atlantis could have been very different in both location and description from accepted greek interpretation. Likely the city (or nation) of Atlantis was far more ancient than the Greeks and that the tale was passed down. This means that the reality of Atlantis could be many things including early Indian ancestors with huge advances in technology.
Thanks for your post......But i would also like to know what happened around the world in 1600 BCE.....If India were so advanced then how were the other civilizations....
It would not surprise me if at one time man had evolved into something even more that what we are now. The only thing that makes it hard to believe is the lack of good evidence. It is a good theory. Who knows, maybe in twenty thousand years there will be a whole new generation of man that only has a tiny bit of the knowledge we posess now.
Intresting...it seems as tho it would be possible for those who had the knowldge of such great destructive power to never want that knowldge to get out. Those from that time may have become Muses, for those who have developed similar technology today....as sort of a fanciful answer.
As for evidence a lot of radioactivity has been detected where this war was held, they have found a lot of bones too. There is enough physical proof that a war did happen....As i said the book has a lot of references which one cannot ignore
• Egypt — End of Fourteenth Dynasty.
• The creation of one of the oldest surviving astronomical documents, a copy of which was found in the Babylonian library of Ashurbanipal: a 21-year record of the appearances of Venus (which the early Babylonians called Nindaranna).
• The end of the Indus Valley civilization.
• The overthrow of the ruling Amorite dynasty in Aleppo, Syria.
• The date of the earliest discovered rubber balls.
• Egypt conquered by Asian tribes known as the Hyksos — see History of ancient Israel and Judah.
• 1600 BC — Shang Dynasty instituted in China.
• 1600 BC — Tumulus culture started.
• c. 1600 BC — Nebra skydisk created.
• c. 1600 BC — The foundations of the Olmec civilization in Southern Mexico.
• c. 1600 BC — Cycladic civilization ends.
• c. 1600 BC–1550 BC — "Mask of Agamemnon" Funerary mask, from the royal tombs at Mycenae, Greece, is made. Grave Circle A. It is now at National Archaeological Museum, Athens.
• c. 1600 BC–1200 BC — Hittite (Anatolia) iron tools and weapons.
• c. 1600 BC - 1200 BC - Tiryns, Ancient Greece, is inhabited.
• c. 1600 BC — Hittites establish capital at Hattushash (near modern Boghazkeui, Turkey).
This is certainly not completely comprehensive but this was pulled from a wiki article on 1600 BC.
THe Olmecs are really a mystery so we don't know much about their 'advances' and the Babylonian documents have been talked about as being copied from earlier documents.
Thanks Felix..I appreciate it like always....Man where would i be without you?
Anyway back to the post...
Nuclear weapons in ancient India
This is a cut paste job from various sources......
1.here is an excerpt from The Mahabharata
"a single projectile Charged with all the power of the Universe
An incandescent column of smoke and flame As bright as ten thousand Suns Rose in all its splendor......it was an unknown weapon, An iron thunderbolt, A gigantic messenger of death, Which reduced to ashes. The Entire race of the Vrishnis and the Andhakas....the corpses were so burned As to be unrecognizable. Their hair and nails fell out; Pottery broke without apparent cause, And the birds turned white. After a few hours all foodstuffs were infected......To escape from this fire. The soldiers threw themselves in streams to wash themselves and their equipment."
this is a descripion of an atomic bomb explosion fom a "novel" written in 750BC according to the west
2.Only seven years after the first successful atom bomb blast in New Mexico, Dr. Robert Oppenheimer (1904-1967) Scientist, philosopher, bohemian, and radical. A theoretical physicist and the Supervising Scientist of the Manhattan Project, who was familiar with ancient Sanskrit literature, was giving a lecture at Rochester University. During the question and answer period a student asked a question to which Oppenheimer gave a strangely qualified answer:
Student: Was the bomb exploded at Alamogordo during the Manhattan Project the first one to be detonated?
Dr. Oppenheimer: "Well -- yes. In modern times, of course.
3. " The atomic energy fissions the ninety-nine elements, covering its path by the bombardments of neutrons without let or hindrance. Desirous of stalking the head, ie. The chief part of the swift power, hidden in the mass of molecular adjustments of the elements, this atomic energy approaches it in the very act of fissioning it by the above-noted bombardment. Herein, verily the scientists know the similar hidden striking force of the rays of the sun working in the orbit of the moon." (Atharva-veda 20.41.1-3).
4. Charles Berlitz, author of several books, including The Bermuda Triangle, was the grandson of the founder of the world-famous Berlitz schools, wrote:
"If atomic warfare were actually used in the distant past and not just imagined, there must still exist some indications of a civilization advanced enough to develop or even to know about atomic power. One does find in some of the ancient writings of India some descriptions of advanced scientific thinking which seemed anachronistic to the age from which they come.
5. The Jyotish (400 B. C) echoes the modern concept of the earth's place in the universe, the law of gravity, the kinetic nature of energy, and the theory of cosmic rays and also deals, in specialized but unmistakable vocabulary, with the theory of atomic rays. And what was thousands of years before the medieval theologians of Europe argued about the number of angels that could fit on the head of a pin. Indian philosophers of the Vaisesika school were discussing atomic theory, speculating about heat being the cause of molecular change, and calculating the period of time taken by an atom to traverse its own space. Readers of the Buddhist pali sutra and commentaries, who studied them before modern times, were frequently mystified by reference to the "tying together" of minute component parts of matter; although nowadays it is easy for a model reader to recognize an understandable description of molecular composition."
6.another one from mahabharata
""It was as if the elements had been unleashed. The sun spun round. Scorched by the incandescent heat of the weapon, the world reeled in fever. Elephants were set on fire by the heat and ran to and fro in a frenzy to seek protection from the terrible violence. The water boiled, the animals died, the enemy was mown down and the raging of the blaze made the trees collapse in rows as in a forest fire. The elephants made a fearful trumpeting and sank dead to the ground over a vast area. Horses and war chariots were burnt up and the scene looked like the aftermath of a conflagration. Thousands of chariots were destroyed, then deep silence descended on the sea. The winds, began to blow and the earth grew bright. It was a terrible sight to see. The corpses of the fallen were mutilated by the terrible heat so that they no longer looked like human beings. Never before have we seen such a ghastly weapon and never before have we heard of such a weapon. "
Here's the link...here
The language of the time was very beautiful and poetic.....doesn't sound like an atomic bomb to me though.
Now obviously these are english translations of Indian text. I'm assuming that they didn't have a word back then for some of the more modern words we're place in the texts. However, it's astounding that such ancient texts did discuss in their own way, war on such a scale as to truly imply nuclear devastation.
If however, these ancient people left the planet and destroyed their city to keep this knowledge from spreading, then surely, our own atomic age weapons would warrant some intervention on their part.
Even so....the language does not describe neclear power......it's flowery text....embellishment if you will.
The philosophers back then were discussing Atomic Theory...imagine that...I would advice those who are interested in this to check out RigVeda and Atharvaveda....Two extremely well written books about science, healing, incantations, atoms, matter, basically all that which are even being discussed today.I believe i have given enough proof..What more do one want....
You may believe what you will.....and I will believe what I will.....democracy rocks.
"a single projectile Charged with all the power of the Universe

Now why would they jump into a stream of water?Think.....
Its so damn easy because water washes off any nuclear particles attached to your armor or your body.....Here's one reference..
As felix said since its translated into English certain words were slightly changed..
I understand about words changing thank you.
I also understand dynastic invention and the way historians of the day did the smart thing and wrote what they were told not necessarily what happened.
Radiation still so intense, the area is highly dangerous
A heavy layer of radioactive ash in Rajasthan, India, covers a three-square mile area, ten miles west of Jodhpur. Scientists are investigating the site, where a housing development was being built.
For some time it has been established that there is a very high rate of birth defects and cancer in the area under construction. The levels of radiation there have registered so high on investigators' gauges that the Indian government has now cordoned off the region. Scientists have unearthed an ancient city where evidence shows an atomic blast dating back thousands of years, from 8,000 to 12,000 years, destroyed most of the buildings and probably a half-million people. One researcher estimates that the nuclear bomb used was about the size of the ones dropped on Japan in 1945.
The Mahabharata clearly describes a catastrophic blast that rocked the continent. "A single projectile charged with all the power in the Universe...An incandescent column of smoke and flame as bright as 10,000 suns, rose in all its splendor...it was an unknown weapon, an iron thunderbolt, a gigantic messenger of death which reduced to ashes an entire race.
"The corpses were so burned as to be unrecognizable. Their hair and nails fell out, pottery broke without any apparent cause, and the birds turned white.
"After a few hours, all foodstuffs were infected. To escape from this fire, the soldiers threw themselves into the river."
Historian Kisari Mohan Ganguli says that Indian sacred writings are full of such descriptions, which sound like an atomic blast as experienced in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. He says references mention fighting sky chariots and final weapons. An ancient battle is described in the Drona Parva, a section of the Mahabharata. "The passage tells of combat where explosions of final weapons decimate entire armies, causing crowds of warriors with steeds and elephants and weapons to be carried away as if they were dry leaves of trees," says Ganguli.
"Instead of mushroom clouds, the writer describes a perpendicular explosion with its billowing smoke clouds as consecutive openings of giant parasols. There are comments about the contamination of food and people's hair falling out."
Archeologist Francis Taylor says that etchings in some nearby temples he has managed to translate suggest that they prayed to be spared from the great light that was coming to lay ruin to the city. "It's so mid-boggling to imagine that some civilization had nuclear technology before we did. The radioactive ash adds credibility to the ancient Indian records that describe atomic warfare."
Construction has halted while the five member team conducts the investigation. The foreman of the project is Lee Hundley, who pioneered the investigation after the high level of radiation was discovered.
Some more info.....
Ancient Nuclear War? There is evidence that the Rama empire (now India) was devastated by nuclear war. The Indus valley is now the Thar desert, and the site of the radioactive ash found west of Jodhpur is around there. Consider these verses from the ancient (6500 BC at the latest) Mahabharata: ...a single projectile Charged with all the power of the Universe. An incandescent column of smoke and flame As bright as the thousand suns Rose in all its splendour... a perpendicular explosion with its billowing smoke clouds... ...the cloud of smoke rising after its first explosion formed into expanding round circles like the opening of giant parasols... ..it was an unknown weapon, An iron thunderbolt, A gigantic messenger of death, Which reduced to ashes The entire race of the Vrishnis and the Andhakas. ...The corpses were so burned As to be unrecognisable. The hair and nails fell out; Pottery broke without apparent cause, And the birds turned white. After a few hours All foodstuffs were infected... ...to escape from this fire The soldiers threw themselves in streams To wash themselves and their equipment. Until the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, modern mankind could not imagine any weapon as horrible and devastating as those described in the ancient Indian texts. Yet they very accurately described the effects of an atomic explosion. Radioactive poisoning will make hair and nails fall out. Immersing oneself in water gives some respite, though it is not a cure. When excavations of Harappa and Mohenjo-Daro reached the street level, they discovered skeletons scattered about the cities, many holding hands and sprawling in the streets as if some instant, horrible doom had taken place. People were just lying, unburied, in the streets of the city. And these skeletons are thousands of years old, even by traditional archaeological standards. These skeletons are among the most radioactive ever found, on par with those at Hiroshima and Nagasaki. At one site, Soviet scholars found a skeleton which had a radioactive level 50 times greater than normal. Other cities have been found in northern India that show indications of explosions of great magnitude. One such city, found between the Ganges and the mountains of Rajmahal, seems to have been subjected to intense heat. Huge masses of walls and foundations of the ancient city are fused together, literally vitrified! And since there is no indication of a volcanic eruption at Mohenjo-Daro or at the other cities, the intense heat to melt clay vessels can only be explained by an atomic blast or some other unknown weapon. The cities were wiped out entirely. While the skeletons have been carbon-dated to 2500 BC, we must keep in mind that carbon-dating involves measuring the amount of radiation left. When atomic explosions are involved, that makes then seem much younger. Manhattan Project chief scientist Dr J. Robert Oppenheimer was known to be familiar with ancient Sanskrit literature. In an interview conducted after he watched the first atomic test, he quoted from the Bhagavad Gita: "'Now I am become Death, the Destroyer of Worlds.' I suppose we all felt that way." When asked in an interview at Rochester University seven years after the Alamogordo nuclear test whether that was the first atomic bomb ever to be detonated, his reply was, "Well, yes, in modern history." Ancient cities whose brick and stonewalls have literally been vitrified, that is, fused together, can be found in India, Ireland, Scotland, France, Turkey and other places. There is no logical explanation for the vitrification of stone forts and cities, except from an atomic blast. Another curious sign of an ancient nuclear war in India is a giant crater near Bombay. The nearly circular 2,154-metre-diameter Lonar crater, located 400 kilometres northeast of Bombay and aged at less than 50,000 years old, could be related to nuclear warfare of antiquity. No trace of any meteoric material, etc., has been found at the site or in the vicinity, and this is the world's only known "impact" crater in basalt. Indications of great shock (from a pressure exceeding 600,000 atmospheres) and intense, abrupt heat (indicated by basalt glass spherules) can be ascertained from the site. The destruction of the Biblical cities Sodom and Gomorrah (a dense column of smoke rose rapidly, a cloud rained burning sulfur, the surrounding soil was turned into sulfur and salt so that not even a blade of grass could grow there, and anyone in the vicinity turned to salt) sounds like a nuclear blast.
The reason i have used the same saying again and again is to show how such ancient writings can be deciphered to indicate a nuclear blast.....I hope this helps...
Exactly.....deciphered...altered....changed....cobbled together....etc.
Ok.....Now would you please read the info i have given above....Pretty please....
It sounds like whatever you would like it to sound like. If you want it to be a huge conspiracy theory type event, then it will be.
Have you thought about the impact of a meteorite? That would have similar effects. And there is more than enough evidence to state that these things did happen and would have happened in that area.
For example the impact of the Tunguska meteorite in Russia in 1908 had similar effects, however this one exploded in the air, not on the ground.
Vibrations were recorded by sensitive instruments as much as 1000 km (600 mi) away. At 500 km (300 mi), observers reported "deafening bangs" and a fiery cloud on the horizon. About 170 km (110 mi) from the explosion, the object was seen in the cloudless, daytime sky as a brilliant, sunlike fireball; thunderous noises were heard. At distances around 60 km, people were thrown to the ground or even knocked unconscious; windows were broken and crockery knocked off shelves. Probably the closest observers were some reindeer herders asleep in their tents in several camps about 30 km (20 mi) from the site. They were blown into the air and knocked unconscious; one man was blown into a tree and later died. "Everything around was shrouded in smoke and fog from the burning fallen trees."
(source: http://www.psi.edu/projects/siberia/siberia.html)
All these happened after the weapons were launched...So i guess the meteorite theory would go down.....But thank you....The link was interesting....
I'm not really informed on the geography but have scientists given much reason for the change of a fertile valley into a desert? Or was it truly an anomaly that would lead one to these texts for answers.
I still say the Mahabharata is extremely interesting regardless of whether or not it proves nuclear war. Just like the images that appear to be astronaughts or pilots in the Americas on both rock drawings and even in Aztec carvings, the mystery leads the imagination to untold and countless theories - all of which could be valid on some level.
Gautham
I have read.....now if you believe it...fine...I don't.
I'm going to bed, and if I have nightmares about atomic bombs.....well I'll just change into my wolf shape and come bit your A***.
Thank you felix......I know its pretty far fetched but at the same time i also know that different branches of science was well known and practiced in India at that time....Therefore it is not a fable written my mindless idiots..If you're familiar with Buddhism you will know that it was started by Gautama Buddha, who was an Indian king.....There i go bragging about my country again...
But on a more serious note....all i'm asking is if it can be possible or not?I'm not trying to prove anything, just questions to be answered.....
Well anything's possible.
But the simplest explanation is usually the one that happened.
At the end of the day, time travel isn't happening for us right now, so until that happens, we'll never really know.
It's a nice theory, but I have a hard time believing it could be true.
I just find it hard to believe that we would destroy advanced technology like that and regress to the "caveman" ways, if you catch my drift.
Interesting that they described the next best thing to nuclear warfare....what is also interesting is that many ancient texts including the Qur'an make mention of the ATOM, which was not discovered until the early-mid 20th century, but modern science.
You see in Hindu Mythology the era we live in is called Kalyug..There are 10 yugas..And this one is the last one....Now imagine life as a circle.....Life begins and then ends and then the next circle starts....And Mahabharata took place in the last yuga. Now what if they knew that this would be the end of us all and they decided to obstruct this circle by helping us evolve as i stated above....
And this is to Carvall...
*Ouch...you didn't have to do that*
Ok here is a spanner for you all. I think it could be plausible as I have read theories that certain civilzations on this planet came from another planet pre-iceage and this is where the egyptian technologies came from. This theory also mentioned atlantis being the last of these people and that they destroyed themselves just as easily as they did on the home planet. Or they deliberately destroyed themselves because they could see old patterns repeating themselves.
There is another theory about a civilisation, that these self same people went underground and are now the cave people. That they will return to the surface when we have destroyed the planet and killed ourselves off.
Unfortunately I can't give you references as they were books I read a rather long time ago. But as to whether its true or not is hard to decide.
well, i remember that when i was at the college, i had a friend who strongly believed that we were star dust... the first time i heard that i had to ask and he explained that he believed that we were seeds of extraterrestrial beings. who have been taking care of us and guiding us thoughout our history. That would explain maybe all the advanced technologies present in certain civilizations ... well, when he talked to me about that... everything made sense... i don't really know...
the 17th century was not that long ago, and India was well known to europe in those days, so we are not talking about some long lost civilization that was not known about in the West.
they were quite advanced compared to Europe at the time, but not advanced enough to have nuclear weapons. stories exaggerate historic events a great deal, and a lot of true meanings are lost in translation.
they did know a thing or two about bacteriological warfare, and it is highly likely they knew how to make gunpowder, so they could have made rockets (pretty much like the fireworks of today - but used as weapons), but i seriously doubt flying machines. i could believe a long lost prehistoric civilisation being that advanced, because we have only gained our technological advances within 200 years - but 17th century is relatively speaking modern times, and someone outside of India would have noticed such things and wrote about them - it would be common knowledge.
Umm i have a question.....1600 BCE was the same as 17 th century?
I honestly dont know
Would definately be interesting and might give reasoning to that i feel like im being watched feeling We have seen many times throughout our history things that looked more advanced that showed up out of the blue and we have no idea where they infact came from .. and OUr governments keeping us in the dark about everything i would have to assume the possibilitys on this are endless and may very well be possible .. But will we ever know till someone breaches the confidentiality of it all
Things like this could be possible. I, for one, wonder what's gonna happen when this current world order collapses and we're plunged into a new Dark Ages. Hopefully, we learn something when it does.
LOL - oops - i misread the year. well that does cast a different light on things. i'm not saying i'm convinced, but such a civilization existing in prehistory, before the world was mapped is a different matter. i concede it could be possible - however.
we have the old chestnut of the man who dreamed he was falling and didnt wake up in time, so died of shock in his sleep. it's easy to argue the possibility, but what is not possible is to know the dreams of a dead man. likewise - who could survive that war to accurately describe what happened?
how much has been lost in translation? how much of this is poetic license? it is not possible to literally and accurately translate one entirely different language into another - particularly when there is a huge timespan involved.
but you starting to win me round
Scipio
Don't worry, I can make fire from two sticks and a box of matches.
Interesting thread...
I think that any theory is that...a theory. Back it up with evidence and it becomes a fact.
I also believe we will never know for sure. But, it is interesting to think about.
Thank you..Karnstein....Lol....As i said before i'm not trying to prove anything..just an another theory...
I do suggest reading Atharva Veda...Might shed some more light on it....
I dont like all these constant changes wich are going on here on this planet.
Something fishy going on here, under somebodys supervision, for some time already.
It is fucking obvieous.
Or is the human race indeed so retarded, so it makes me develope an advanced form of dementia?.
humans are so retarted. what they cant expain, dont exist. it's as easy as that.
A person is smart. and people are just dumb.
many years ago i started to read a book by Helena Blavatsky called the Secret Doctrine. it told of an ancient race, older than man, but like man who were very advanced, but destroyed their world, and so became extinct. i think they were called the Chayas or something like that. it was many years ago, and i got bored with it i'm afraid. do you know anything of that?
The interesting thing about this post is that it shows that a cataclysmic event took place many. many years ago...an event recorded in many ancient texts in different ways but all seemingly threads of one event in the history of the world... Gaudern is obviously and perhaps deservedly very proud of his own country's standing in these events... who saw them first is less exciting though than the fact that these events were seen as the byproduct of a war between highly advanced cultures....
Chayas no...Kaurava's yes.....Sir i think you might find the Veda's interesting...Even Atoms and molecules and fission have been described in the veda's even at 1600 BCE....And i'm not talking about the English translations.....And not only that even flying chariots were described...now one might think that today someone forged and tried to associate it with a modern day flying machine but in the ancient books even the cockpit has been described and that too strikingly similar to modern aircrafts...Science was a huge strength for India back then.....O f course now India is all Fu#$@d up....
I've read as much as my brain can take in LOL
I can't see why not.
Ancient civilisations rise to great things and then fall, what is left behind is often at first weaker.
If a civilisation is very advanced then its destruction, or the way it was destroyed, will set everything way back.
I forget who said that he didn't know what world war 3 would be fought like, but world war 4 would be fought with stick and stones
Maybe that has happened before.
The problem is that a lot of good logical theories hang onto evidence that can be read a lot of different ways.
That is what creates a good debate, provided of course people are willing to listen
Thank you Uzziel and Artemka.....Your posts are highly appreciated....
yeah the concept of having a lapse in knowledge after a great all present war is not that unlikely, technically its similiar to what happened at the fall of the roman empire.....remember the dark ages.?
that is a very good point - the dark ages were not so long ago. look how far we have come in only 600 years. what happened in the world 3000 years ago is pretty much a mystery to us. there is evidence that the ancient Egyptians used electroplating, and it is widely believed that the fabled Arc of the Covenant was in fact a powerful capacitor. so who knows?
Great post. I think that it could be possible. The main problem with any writing from ancient times is that it is the interpretation is that of the decipherer. Many of the writings can be translated differently and have numerous meanings.
Considering what it takes to make an atomic weapon, the odds are very much against it being that. India is the oldest government on this planet. Calculus was being discussed in that country when Adam and Eve were wearing their fig leaves! Commerce was very active between Southern France and India before they were even born. As the battle itself, it did indeed happen. A little to the North and West of what is now Delhi. The battle is famous and the well known and loved dialog between Arjuna and Lord Krishna took place there. If only in story.
To get an atomic weapon "on planet" would send this thread to the Sandbox. As would creating the caverns using atomic weapons causing earth quakes as mentioned before. Lets stay away from the Grays. OK?
Edgar Cayce did mention that Atlantis had weapons more advance then what we have now. But he also said that the last Exodus and sinking was 15,00 years ago. And that was way before India! The two can not make connection. The times don't allow it. It was also said that the Atlanteans went to the France mountains at the end and not India. The Atlanteans are long gone.
Oh......Thank you for that information...Oh well another theory down the drain....I'll go have some whiskey now.....
But how come they discussed about atoms, molecules, nuclear fission in the veda's?There were doctors, surgeons who recorded all their knowledge into books, they knew a lot about the human body that would rival todays knowledge,The Vedas contains Hymns that can cure diseases, cleanse the environment, and clearly of energy manipulation.....It seems pretty funny for a civilization to be that advanced...Dont you think? After the war The Indus Valley Civilization came up...thats 100 years after The Mahabharata....And were well known for their city planning and sewage systems..The engineering skill of the Harappans was remarkable, especially in building docks after a careful study of tides, waves and currents.
i feel like in order for me to have a valid opinion that i should read up a little more on atlantis ... seeing as i only know little. but from reading through this... i think it could totally be a possibility. there are a lot of things that are hidden for alot of different reasons. the thought of a civilization that wasnt corrupted by greed and power is a nice thought. do u think any civilization would destroy something that would give them total control?
Of course..I think so....What if they didn't want us to repeat their mistakes....It could be possible....
i'm not a studier of ancient histories, but i most certainly believe that there were highly advanced races out there, that's why we have such myths as Atlantis; perfectly possible that our "cavemen" and "early man" types were simply survivors of such catastrophes, unable to re-create the technology, hence being thrown back into a more primitive-state...we weren't there, we don't know, who knows.
i like the reject alien idea but i believe that Atlantis was a real placed that destoyed itself because of all its knowledge and technology
all it would take, would be three or four generations, of pplthat once had technology, now living w/o any at all...we'd become very primitive again. too may peoples and races spoke of a place such as Atlantis for it "not" to exist...i think it got blown up, or there was a huge volcano/earthquake....it's way benetah the sea to the point that we can't find it, or we would've by now, i'm sure.
But i was wondering if there were any other great civilizations back then...in 1600 BC other than India
Hmm... sounds plausible. I think it could happen. How did you learn so much about that?
i suppose it could be truth if there is edeince from all over the globe saying about things happening like that but was there a book or something else in particular that some of these events could have been written down at? that is the real question there?
Enriching uranium (or plutonium) is technical a hard thing. You can't do it with elephants!!
Parole with upgrades.Darma exists.Take heart.Don't be a slave to KARMA.
man has one fatal flaw and that is the ability to destroy him self weather it be on a singular or massive scale the downfall of any civilizaion is man and i believe it is a cycle that is repeated over and over threw history from bits and pieces found that are unexplainable to atlantis and the myans
Ratsah...Where is it mentioned that elephants were used to get uranium.....Thats simply your assumption because elephants are pretty famous in India....
You see as time progresses and the future generations forgets all about our culture and civilizations people will look back and say that the hiroshima bombings were merely fire breathed out by dragons.....considering that the we have a huge war and nearly kill our entire human race...and mankind starts from scratch again....
id also have to agree to it being possible to a point... but as for proof ive havent seen it yet
a lot of myths sound more like science fiction. the greeks tell of a mechanical giant, the celts tell of a man with prosthetic hand that grips and works like a real hand, of a sword of light that can cut through any armor, and a spearhead that leaves it's shaft and finds it's target by remote control, and of sonic weapons, and laser beams. how many modern inventions were almost discovered a hundred or more years earlier? are we really that much more advanced than people five thousand years ago?
i guess i havent been keeping up on my history.. its defently something to think about.... i may go to my public library to see if i can find any info on 1600 bc..
i think atlantis was real... also i believe basic knowledge is embedded what we call education is somewhat just a way to remember" our embedded knowledge... no we arent that much more advanced... just better educated on what we allready know......
I'm not sure that I believe in Atlantis, but I think I have heard of this theory before. Though... I'm not sure it was quite so grandeur as they destroyed their own city for the sake of the world. I have a quite pessimistic/cynical approach. I think that they had such a lust for power and such an advanced society that they eventually just caved in on themselves and they destoyed themsleves unintentionally from within.
Some on the net say we are now in the 7th cycle of man's civilizatio since arriving.
Smiles.
such time lines would be extremely hard to find evidence/proof of.
especially if each prior cycle was a smaller population.. not infect planet like we do now.
Quite frankly - I see it as a great fictional novel plot, but that's it...
My belief is that we originated in Egypt during the times of the pharos.
of course own will never know for sure, there is no proof really.
AH some mixed reactions....interesting.....You see i think The Greeks and Indians used to trade a lot back then..And after all the war took place after Aryans came to India from the north....So i'm guessing knowledge was passed from one country to another....But what i really hope to find is which other superior civilization existed back then?I mean you just cannot have one or two superior civilizations...There must have been others, maybe not equally powerful but nonetheless advanced..
First let me say that this is a wonderful and interesting thread. I read every post in a way I rarely read forum threads anymore. Thank you for inspiring thought, Gautham. Well done!
My main comment is about the date you present here. I taught World Literature which requires a working feel for time lines and historical context. I did have the great privilege of teaching from the Mahabharata. (I LOVE the Gita and re-read it frequently!)
The trouble with dating the Mahabharata as a text is rooted in its narrative history. I have seen it dated as far back as about 3000 BC with ranges including your date and up to the
even more historically plausible 900BC. The earliest references we have to the text are about 600 BC. As you'll admit...that's a pretty fair range!
What do I think about the possibility of atomic weaponry pre-600 BC? Well, like everyone else, I like hard data. When we don't quite have that, we have to become detectives of the possible. Could ancient peoples have mastered fusion and harnessed it as a weapon? If you believe the Vymaanika-Shaastra (which admittedly is not a text written in ancient times, but is dictated in Sanskrit...a channeling) then you might contemplate that liquid mercury was an option...if elecrified, it becomes plasma, an ionized gas twice the heat needed for fusion. It still begs the question of technology needed to create and contain a plasma jet, but fun to consider.
And if you like that...how about ancient sheets of vitrifed green glass on the desert floor of the Euphrates? hmmm...
Vimanas?
Joli
Thank you for replying...I appreciate your views.....But isn't the timeline read in reverse order in B.C......
Isn't it 4AD 3AD 2AD 1AD B.C 1BC 2BC 3BC 4BC.......
If that is so,then 600 BC would be the nearest and 3000 B.C the oldest......
Oh and i found this article very helpful......
http://www.archaeologyonline.net/artifacts/scientific-verif-vedas.html
This is all fascinating but I am still a bit lost on the timing of it all..I look forward to reading more..I truly do.
im lost as well. but i'd believe anyhting at this point. not so much the flying cars but the hidden underground yes posibly
that sounds very interesting and I always believe that hind sight is 20/20 and if people lived threw a horiable experience like that they would want to prevent it from happening again.
i believe in secret societies... many never know they exist...
Yes, you're correct, Gautham. That is how the dates are read. In trying to date the text, we begin with the earliest written reference we have which occurs in about 600 BC.
We use physical evidence and astronomical references to try to get an accurate idea of the age of the story. Your 1600BC is about a mid-range for age of the Mahabharata...it would still be in narrative form then and possibly a good deal shorter than its current length since at least 2 additions were made to it since its attributed beginning. It is actually possible that the narrative of the Mahabharata is as old as 3000+ BC - that would be the date the farthest out. Physical evidence would make it younger, at about 900BC.
The 600 BC referred to written format only. But as you know, oral tradition predated writing by many many centuries. Sorry if I wasn't clear. :)
Yes, that's an interesting link.
Thank you for replying.......Let us continue our thread now.....
Did you check that link about the vitrified glass on the desert floor? It could be applied to support your theory.
There have been many stories in old religions of things resembling nuclear blasts, and modern artillery, so is plausible that after each ice age, meteor wipeout, whatever, that man has built itself back up and re-evolved
I believe there are many facts that could suport your therory but really we could sit here and guess what if's about alot of things for the rest of our lives what we need to do is find the facts that either full prove it or fully disprove it and somethings I believe we will never have all the answers or know all the truth because no one is left that was there
Joli..Yes i did read it and it was a nice article.....I have found many references too...In Rajasthan for example radioactivity levels are pretty high...And that place is a desert now.....
It makes more sense then it should really. now my mind is turning flips over this. The theory of a civilization destroying itself after knowing what there power and knowledge can do, almost seems to perfect. And who knows maybe they are still living here on Earth. An underground city could be very possible.
it's possible and veryplausable to and u put a good explanation to it
This planet has bee survayed and mapped, both by satellite and ground alike by the geographical society and studied extensivly by NOAA. It has been pocked, prodded and thermal imaged to no end. One would think we would have stumbbled on some evidence by now. Both public, private and government agencys are involved so we can dump any conspirisy theories.
