The fang thing is a hollywood fantasy. Vampires do not nessessarily have the fangs. Some bloodlen "feed" in entirely differant way.

If it were hollywood then, yes I think they would grow a set of fangs, just not the entire guage of teeth. They would look something like Magnus out of Anne Rice's book: Lestat.

If you mean the "book" or "movie" "Vampires" it would be like if someone had scars or missing limbs...when bit...they would still have then scars,missing limbs...etc.

I agree with Soulshroude's post. Fangs are fantasy and only in "Hollywood" would they grow back. Living vampires do not need fangs to feed.

I'm totaly getting a pair of fang dentures when I start loosing my teeth. I'd say nothing would happen. If your teeth are gone, they're gone.

Thats a great question it would be hard to be a vampire without fangs. I would thing that they would grow when they turn.

i no every one had seen alot of tv vamps, were they can hide there teeth and turn into a vamp and grow those fangs when they want.. clever isnt it..

as for fangs some have them others do not no i do not think you would regain all of your teeth if you were awakend after you lost them fyi the term is awakend not turned

I wouldn't think so, its all theatrical.

Fangs are very cool looking, but just not necessary, especially if you don't want those around you to know you are a vampire. I have never needed them to feed so I don't see them as important.

from various books i've read- there could be many different types of vampires around the world with different quirks about them. some might need fangs, so there for i would take an educated guess at yes, they would grow them if need be. but other vampires might like stabbing, or living off of fear, or emotions, or mind control, life energy things like that. i guess it depends on how much and what they hunger i spose.

i guess they would grow fangs since humans don't really have any...i am sure if vampires have fangs then they grow them once they are turned, so once a human is bittebn or whatever they could grow them.

Fangless vampires just don't do it for me. Whatever diabolical spirit encouraged the awakened vampire to sprout fangs, would also come to the toothless ones rescue.

I suppose that would depend on what movie you were watching or what book you were reading. Since vampires with fangs are things of fantasy anything is possible.

I can't remember the name of the movie, but I saw one where there was a vampire with dentures. From everything that I've seen mythical/fictional vampires can not regrow things that were lost before they were turned. Fangs are transformed canine teeth so if he/she doesn't have canines no fangs.

As for terminology mythical/fictional vampires are generally turned or embraced and living vampires are awakened.

Believe it or not,I know someone with no teeth or dentures,and when they bite it feels like sharp pointy fangs I've felt them.So no I don't think they grow back,and the person seems to have no problem feeding.

As others have said fangs aren't needed. But they help vampires.

It's this funny, I just finished a book about a vampire that broke one of his fangs and was looking for a dentist to fix it by dawn before the wound would close...

Real life no. In books and movies, it depends on the universe of the writer. Like Anne Rice, if you didnt have your teeth and you were turned then your teeth would grow back.

I think so I dunno...Maybe they do. They are reborn when they're turned. I mean they're more beautiful and have more of a glow so why not get another set of teeth?

I have to agree with a number of people who posted above, YOU DO NOT NEED FANGS TO FEED.

I hope those here do not bite for blood consumption. Fangs are not necessary because biting is no longer a viable feeding option. It is more painful to the donor than a quick cut and the biting area gets very infected. Respect your donor, don't bite please.

if someone doesn't have teeth and they get bitten by a vampire, they're not going to grow teeth. If they want to develop fangs, they'll have to get dentures with fangs crafted into them.

I don't see why they couldn't get implants however they would be permanently extended and they couldn't retract them.

The fangs, since can retract, would come when they turned.

real vampire dont have fangs and you dont need them or any other tool to cut the skin human teeth work just fine

well a fang is nothing but an overgrown canine tooth. So i would say no, they would not 'grow' new ones. They would most likely feed using their overgrown nails.

I feed through cutting so...but seriously I think fangs are very hollywood which kinda bums me because the whole necking,embracement is a huge turn-on.

The question seems to be directed toward myth and fiction...therefore let me answer it this way...in myth and fiction, the canines grow somehow. They sharpen to become the instruments by which the vampire feeds. Wounds are healed and life becomes immortal. Given that somehow (magically, dna, or through the 'will of god') the teeth grow and sharpen as well as gain muscles in some cases to extend or detract, it would seem plausible that a new set could come in (if only those few important fangs).

Fangs are something more for show to signafy that they are what they are.. they aren't a necessity when it comes to feeding, in my oppinion. There are plenty of ways to get it. And for some, fangs aren't needed for biting. They might just have a really strong bite. o_o

fangs are great if you have them, but u could just as easily cut some one too, if they didnt grow.

I actually had a friend that went to the dentist to have his canine teeth sharpened. He though it was cool. His girlfriend did too...until they made out.

A vampyre in the vampyre sence regenerates on a genetic level, bone, flesh, ect. Thus the DNA maps are still present and teeth would return. Fun Stuff, good movie ideal. :)

Since you mentioned real life, the answer to that is no the vampire would not regrow fangs. Real life or living vampires are human and humans can not regrow their adult teeth. Fangs are not needed by fictional, mythical or living vampires. Most fictional and mythical vampires gain claws that work very nicely for slashing someone's throat. As for living vampires there are more efficient and safer ways than biting to get blood.

In real life I don't think that the fangs will re-grow because they already lost it, but if it is Hollywood then I think that it will re-grow.

I think you keep yourself the way you are prior to being bitten, so you would have to feed by cutting
