It could veryw ell be their energy, but the questions i have about them are:
Could it be dust?
Where there a great number of bugs around when the photos where taken?
Everyone really above has the same idea as i do on orbs.
I always make sure my lens are dust free, and you would be surprised the most likely pictures you take orbs will appear.
I always believe those who have passed over are with us, as angel guides and Spirit guides.
I liked the picture it held my interest...thanxs for sharing.
I do believe in them, and I believe that most of the time when an orb shows up it is a spirt..
gaz the soil expell and then produces light when in contact with the oxygen of the air
Most 'orbs' clearly seem to be dust particles that are out of focus because they are on the lenz itself. In some cases, orbs have been caught on video and have been proven to be either light reflections, or bugs (again closeup and out of focus).
I suppose there are some more unexplainable images that have shown up on video or still frame film. My question would be why? If a spirit was being captured because of some kind of energy they all put out, it would ocurre more regularly. If it were an intentional action of a spirit, then it would point to a barely controlled power as it's not a very clear intent to us mortals.
dust can move differently that most things we think about because it's so lightweight. It can move across a lens with just the movement of air, the camera, or anything. In video, dust particles can move all over the place in strange patterns because they are light enough to follow tiny air currents. Just look at dust in a ray of light sometime. It's aerial acrobatics are very erratic.
I know that I'm often a skeptic of things in the paranormal. It's not that I disbelieve the paranormal outright but that most 'manifestations' have very mundane reasons in many many cases. The more we learn to see the mundane for what it is, the more we can focus our attentions on the truly unexplainable.
They are artifacts of the camera it self. On cameras where the flash is close to the lens, they are reflections of light from dust particles.
If you want to test this, try taking pictures without the flash or by using a different light source away from the camera.
Most of the time orbs are nothing more than particles (bugs, dust, mist) of some nature in the air that reflects the flash from the camera. But some are truly small short burst of energy we believe created by spirits. If you are looking for orbs/spirits, always take two pictures one right after the other and compare the photos. If the orb doesn't move check your camera lens for contamination and if it did move you may have a photo of a bonified spirit, or a bug. LOL Sometimes it is hard to tell them apart.
The dust tends to float out in fron of the camera, not necessaryily on the lens. Try using a different light source away from the lens so the light isn't as intense. Might also try changing your flash setting, perhaps a front sync.
their is power in the world and people maybe catching it on film but that depends on the person taking the pictures.
All I'm saying is to remove what is know to be an artifact of the camera itself. We know the flash will reflect off of dust and items floating in from of the lens.
Use your car head lights and stand on the hood or sit on the roof of the car. Get a powerful flashlight and have set it down 20 ft away to the side. They take the picture. Try different techniques in the same spot with different light sources. Try film then try digital.
Basically remove all other items. Then what you have left is worth reviewing.
Sorry I didn't catch your second question.
It's not the lens of the camera that brings the orbs too light, but has to do with the flash on the camera. Some cameras have built in flashes that give a quick burst of light with no light diffusion. More expensive cameras often have a separate flash assembly with flash diffusion so as to spread out the light and make it softer and often in sync with the camera for just the right amount of light needed.
Yep, there's more. Light is rated by the temperature/color it produces. I won't get into the tech stuff, but to make it simple, Yellow fog lights help see through snow and fog, but bright white light reflects off snow and fog making it hard too see. Flashes, Houses, Offices, Automobiles and all lighting are based on the same principles of temperature and color. I know I got carried away here but I hope this helps to explain cameras catching orbs and some not.
Take Care My Friend,
The Daywalker
Its nothing more that a dust or some other dirty on the lence.
in my oppinion and experience the death of a person lives on into eternity and the manner in which that person dies. its like a never ending echo of an event that took place. as far as a spirits energy there is also a similarity.. a spirit will leave a lasting impression like a footprint of where it has been and where it is going. these orbs could be the residual energy of a spirit..
it is the energy of the person who died..and they have chosen to show themselves.
If the orbs had actual colour then perhaps the skeptics would come to their senses.
Orbs in general are the residual energies of the individuals of whom have passed on. Some living individuals may see these orbs, as well as the aura that surrounds them.
Camera's are still the best source for taking orb pics. It is quite hard to tell the differance of the black and white orbs, since you would take the first shot without the orbs present, then the second with.
I am not sure about these exampled here on this picture, to really be orbs of energy, since in my perception they appear to be camera lense-dirt, they look to me like water mixed with some dust dried on the lense, and cant say that they associate me on orbs of energy since they do appear somehow dry in apperance, somewhow dead(yeah I guess some colors, some dimension, some movement, some life showing off in them, would certanly help me look deeper in to them, with greater understanding, respect, and not dissmis them just as a simple case of dirty camera lense). On the other hand , what do I know, I am not an energie orb expert, so my interperetation might well be off for couple of spheres of reality. I would like to have real experiences with energie orbs, that would be very nice, for my curious perception, and it would be a very interesting study to conduct to, since the term "energie orbs" really tickles my imagination, and posibilities. Certanly, it sounds like a very curious and interesting subject.
I can accept what people say about orbs captured on film, that it may be bugs, dust etc.
However what about the ones seen with our own eyes ?
I have seen balls of light moving in a darkened room.....no explanation for them except that they were other worldly.
At the time a friend was dying....never seen them since.
The energy of a localized spot in the spirit is said to form these orbs. seen a few pics i have taken with these in it. Dust specks as other say on the lens yet the picture before and after does not have the dust on the lens even when taken in a row. huh, yes believe in spirit orbs.
I believe that the spots in pictures are truley spirits captured on film.
I always believed this type of thing was simply light from the flash reflecting back from some other material such as dust, water, insects, etc. The quality of the lens could very well have something to do with it too.
oh yes it could most definately be their energy.
but I guess its all in what you believe in
I'm not going to say if there are energies, spirits or not. What I will say is that you need to remove what you know to be artifacts of your measurement system.
Dust particles, etc... light spectrum etc.. remove those. Use indirect lighting. Why is it that you need a flash to see the orbs. Why only in visible light spectrums. The CCD's in most cameras are broad spectrum devices and are filtered to reduce infrared and ultraviolet light noise.
If you question this, go into a dark room and run in video mode aiming your tv remote a the camera. You will film the infrared that the remote transmits. It will be a series of pules.
The whole point is study to understand what you don't know yet, not what is known. That you can read about. Prepare proper measurements where you understand what you are measuring.
Well mum, I actually think they are all energies from another life form that has recently passed on. Short and simple
I was on vacation and was taking pictures of the suite I rented. I took 2 pictures of the same scene. The pictures were taken seconds apart and one had the orb and one did not. This was not a case of dust appearing within seconds
I believe Orbs are Angels. So taking photos in a cemetary you have a real good chance of catching some on film.
my girlfriends mom likes to go into houses and places that are suppose to be haunted. She has captured many orbs and also shadows of people who were not there in the room as people when the picture was taken. On one occasion, shortly after her Aunt had died, she took pictures at her Aunt's house. Her Aunt showed up clearly in nearly every picture. Not as a shadow, but as a clear person in the picture.
i agree it could b ther energy because i lost my dad and we took a few pics at his grave last year 4 his bday and ther was a light that looked like his bodie around his grave and it was darkout side and ther was no lites on at all
it could be their energy...I have often had this occur in many photographs I have taken as well.
I think its dust or doctored...that picture looks like snow or something.
We have been ghost hunting for several years now with the cameras. We do not believe it's dust. We believe they are spirits captured on film and on digi.
I have tested this in various ways. One way I did, was to hit our blinds that was COVERED in dust. We have a dusty and drafty old house. Dust went everywhere. I took pictures of it and there were NO ORBS. If it were merely dust, it would def show up in these shots.
Now when we go to cemeteries or even in various places, the orbs will show up in some shots but not in others. If it were dust, it would show up in every shot, because dust will be all over, floating in the air, not just in ONE spot. That's just stupid.
Another thing I read was about the flash used in digi cameras. It's a special flash that can capture the spirits easier than the regular 35mm flash and of course the naked eye.
We have captured some really neat orbs! I have TONS of shots of some great ones. =) I have been meaning to post some in my port.
PS--Oh and orbs will show up in pics on one side of the picture in a circle sometimes, or just one area by certain graves. Sometimes we can get a shot of an orb that moves and can be seen in different pictures. ;) It's so cool. I am just searching for life after this, just like everyone else.
Well, I think that orbs that are captured in photography could be one of two things. Either a lost soul of some powerful origin that managed to make it self be seen by something outside the realm of the supernatural. Or a simple glare by a light.
I'm not exactly sure myself but I have been told that orbs could be more than one spirit... Maybe because one spirit wouldn't have enough energy to become an orb of light... It's strange though because orbs can't really be seen by the naked eye, but only in photography... I've always thought that if you see one hovering over you in a picture, it could just be dust on the lens or maybe a tiny water drop... sometimes I think it could be guardians that watch over us. I don't think it's possible to prove it though... just a thought.
It could be all of these things that people have stated already but I do believe in orbs and because of the circumstances at the time I believe it to be an orb myself.
Lighting and environment can reek havoc on your shot. It is tough to believe or not believe what you see when others are not able to afirm your idea.
1024 said it best. Eliminate what you can to ensure you are reducing the external influences of the shot.
Like these spirits that formed on the deck of our cruise ship last year...

Spooky...
They are just tricks played by the lights. It`s obvious a contrejour in the last pic.
I don`t think the camera would surprize what our eyes could not see.
However if you want a great horror movie on that subject please see "Shutter".You will surely love it!
Posion - I believe thats what most people are implying.
DragonR - I have to agree. It's hard not to like that movie.
Could be snow as well.
Its really a very common issue with photos. Go google it most of the major camera company's have FAQ about why and how it happen and how to get rid of it.
Dust. My friend is obsessed with Ghost Busters and the pictures of "orbs" are similar to what my camera and phone do with the flash bouncing off particles of light.
And, like me, if you believe in souls and that they are the essence of people, why would they waste their time floating as balls of light? If the souls are going to manifest someway or are simply lost in the physical realm we all know and love, I doubt they'd use such simplistic forms.
I like your thinking pouletdragoon and this is true...but why can some people see things in the 'orbs'?
The first one is not from my camera....and there are way too many, but I am speaking of the single ones...caught in various images, places.
I will try and crop one so I can show it better.
I think the orbs in pictures are just dust or bugs, but if they happen to have something in them like some kind of image that is easily recognizable, then I'd start thinking that it is something else, but it could still be dust or bugs.
i think there there the sperits that havent passedd over i have also seen ghostly images in the shape of humans like mist in the shape of a possable person its also spooky
I think that orbs are just little dust particles reflecting light, or they can be bugs too. If spirits wanted to show themselves, why would they be orbs? If my spirit was floating around I wouldn't wanna look like some ball of light that resembles dust or bugs.
I believe it can be their energy still with you. It can also be dust. In this situation I think you just have to listen to what your heart tells you it is.
Queenofchaos, I think it's proably dust or something, but it could be things like glass reflecting the light in the distance or some other explainable everyday thing.
I agree with LordAbhorrence that souls would use forms that catch the observer's eye and leave an imprint of their personality.
My friend's old home had a strange "being" if you will about it: at random times, there was a hazy white THING outside her window and she could've sworn that she heard an old woman chuckling and sometimes "whispering" incoherently. I think ghosts in general would use a similar form that grips the person's attention.
Honestly, it's whatever feels right for the viewer.
My experience with orbs is dust... The flash of the camera reflecting off the dust.
I've always been interested in spirits/ghosts... My mom and I like to search for them... If a place is rumored to be haunted, we go! lol! We've seen and experienced things we can't prove OR disprove. Orbs never really made me think of ghosts.
There are some cases where orbs will show up in a video... where something a bit bigger than dust flies across the camera, and the people filming didn't see it until they viewed the video... that I think is something paranormal.
anything is possible, but I think it is energy. If you look through night vision glasses and see all the bugs flying around, they do not look anything like orbs.
Orbs. I think they are real, however in most cases it is dust. I don't know why people don't understand that every little white ball in the picture or air is NOT an orb. It could be, like Autumn said, bug, dust, or any of the like.
honestly, i believe that it is a ball of energy from a spirit, it's one of the ways in how they (the spirits) manifest themselves.
I wrote an article about this and from the research I did, it all depends on the type of camera you use. It is suggested also that you take a large amount of examples. They you know when your camera has photographed a dust particle, etc.
My son went out and his lens was clean as he made sure it was and there was no hint of wind. He and his girlfriend went to some local places to take photos. The only place that showed orbs was the cemetery which is known for hauntings. Some were colored and individual. I think they are comprised of energy but as to whether it is a discarnate I'm not totally sure of the connection but from everything I have experienced and seen I think they are. Just depends on how careful one is when taking the photos.
I have those in almost all the pictures that I took in my house. It's hard to tell what they are.... Bugs....dust....reflections....spirits.....who really knows, right?
It's quite possible, I believe Orbs are some of the energy of those who have passed before us.
Well personally looking at the picture I got a spook feeling, like seening something unnatural.
I could ask if it is possibly moisture on the lens and I am guessing the answer would be no. It is unusual for that much activity in a grave yard though.
In photography orbs are simply reflected light. There are countless sites online that explain how this works. It’s especially common in point and shot cameras where the built in flash is close to the lens. There are even many paranormal “research” sites that show orbs are simply reflected dust and nothing more.
I think there's something to them .. I've got a few good pictures --- and there's something there ....
I have not experienced them myself, but I do like the idea of them being passed spiritual energy.
I think they are just energy. I dont really have too much to add.
I do think that orbs could respond to you emotions, but you have to be careful to what it dust and what isn't.
Orbs have their own light. Dust is just transparent speck caught in the moment of the exposure. It doesn't have to be on the lense to come up in a photo.
A camera sees the world in 2-d while we see it in 3-d. so everything is compressed into a flat image with no distinction of where anything actually is. So this dust could be only an inch from the lense, but appear to be 5-6 feet from you and in an orb shape.
I believe VERY dtrongly in orbs. But I believe that they are guardians. OUR guardians. They are here to finish the deads unfinished business. And they are here to protect the deads loved ones.
Personally I dont try to think of anything other then this..
To me, they ARE those people you have held dear for your life, and who are watching out for you. I dont wanna think that its not, because this is what gets me through the day, hoping that there is someone out there, wherever it is, watching me, and not left up to chance...
