Let me know what you think. I think they are pretty much the same.
Neither. Death is just a part of life, and insanity...meh. *Shrugs*
i think insanity ..complete ..is mental death cause who you were doesnt exist anymore .
Well is not fear, death is to mysterious to decide in absolute, one can't throw himself to that position without atleast experiencing a bit of insanity before; wouldn't you agree?, yet insanity is just a scale in the eyes of the beholder, you could be sane in own side and in the other be labeled crazy in behalf of behavior and deeds; for the concise answer, I choose death as least desirable between the both, in my judgement.
i dont fear death but i dont want to die any time soon .but to live and not be able to control myself just watching from the inside . not ever being me . dead but not ..hummm i dont want to be locked away .lol i have to much fun
Who says all classified insane individuals by society are locked up, you aren't locked up until you are seized, so you could live nuts as long as you can override freedom in every respective land you set foot on.
hmmm once again you are right i guess it's just i dont want to get caught.lol
Then we have found the fear you speak of, now WTH did you do?, lol joking..
i think if we could be put away for our thoughts .then they would never let me out .lol they would slide my food to me through a slot in a door .
Death is inevitable, but an entirely reasonable fear. In fact I would go as far as to say, it is one, if not the drive and motivation behind many of our habits and characteristics as humans.
Insanity? Well sanity IMO, consists predominantly of majority rules.
If enough people claim a mentality insane, so it shall be.
Insane is not synonymous with lack of control. This is a myth.
As a human being, I would rather be insane than non existent...but hey, that is the way I have been designed.
Hmm I actually had to think about that, I suppose it depends on the severity of the insanity. Either way, you have to die, but one way you can die with dignity.
I fear neither. Death is just a new phase of living and a chance to rest between life times. A time to assimilate what you have learned.
Insanity is a pleasent respite from other people's reality...
I do not fear death at all. We will all die someday and when it happens it happens. As far as insanity again I have no control over t so if it happens oh well
I fear death mostly (ironically) because I tend to be wacky when I'm nuts (in a fun way). I don't fear insanity, but death...
Well, im already insane most of the time...
and death, well, nothing new there- it is the only real gurantee
I too am already insane. I have the papers to prove it. And I don't fear death as I have been there done that, too. So I guess I don't fear either of them.
I don't fear either.
What I do fear the most, is being alone...truly/deeply alone.
If I become alone, I cannot survive.
Oh and if I was in a room filled with nothing but spiders and scorpions I'd die of fear.
So really, it doesn't matter. When I die, I believe I have another chance, another life. If I'm insane, I get to learn that side of the world, which might be interesting.
let's see here...
since i believe death equals nothing, i do not fear what happens after... however i enjoy life so to an extent i fear death in the way that i have a healthy respect for it and don't do anything that could possibly speed up it's coming to meet me.
insanity could be fun... there's a well known fine line between genius and insanity....so i expect it's rather exhilarating but there's the idea of padded rooms and straight jackets that i find less appealing than the nothingness of death... but still... the mind is a most unusual journey
so to put is shortly (finally) i'd most want to avoid death until it came and dragged me out of my padded room, kicking and screaming insanely
Shit - do I agree with that ---
Death scares me -- I hope I go insane first - and won't know death is coming --
it's not death that scares me. It's the way I'm gonna die that worries me. I know after I'm dead, I will either pass over to the other world or come back in another form.
People are no longer refered to as insane, dementia is very real though, behavioral studies show that dementia does not need to progress to " insanity", but for the sake of the thread, I would expect if I was to be declared insane I would be commited to a care facility, those I love, even though I may not be alert to their presence or relation to me would still be able to see me.
Death happens. "Vita est iam"
And when crazy things happen in today's world, I say, "C'est la vie"
After all, everything crazy probably already happened sometime somewhere. So "that's life"
if one obsessed over death, one can be said to be insane.
death i do not fear but being compleatly insane ..where i dont know who i am ..and im either a veggie .or a derranged man killing people ..i dont like if im going to go crazy then i want to enjoy it .lol
Rogue Said:
I fear neither. Death is just a new phase of living and a chance to rest between life times. A time to assimilate what you have learned.
Insanity is a pleasent respite from other people's reality...
I am really unconvinced that there is a clear working definition of "insanity" other than what appears to defy stanardised behavioural patterns of the majority.
The nature of death and possibilities thereafter are far too ambiguous.
I reiterate that (vague) death anxiety (on a personal level and as a species) is the main motivating factor to everything we do.
On some level I fear non-existence. It is a concept my mind struggles with.
neither....i'm already (unofficially) crazy, and the GrimReaper & me are poker buddies....lol....
I would say insanity but yet if i am insane would i care? I say nethier due to the fact death is a part of life..
" I only want to color with crayons, please remove my jacket!"
Death is the end of our time with possible no feelings or sight or memory, yet insanity would be hell revised until death did claim you.
It's pretty much a guarantee that by the time I hit middle age, I'll be clinically insane. Death... heh. It tries, oh lordy does it try.
I don't really fear either one; I fear how each one can take place.
Will I become a happy nutty fool, or sink to the depressed depths of Hell? Will I die quietly in my sleep, or take a gut shot with an AK?
To me, it's the way I'd go that would cause me fear.
death..
from the insanity to sanity there is a chance of turning back..
but from death...there isn't
Death is something you can fight but lose against...insanity can be fought and beat...there is a big difference.
well I do not fear death it is gonna happen no matter what. Yet, insanity I would fear cause if you lose your mind completely then there is no part of you left inside and that would be terrible. Like they say a mind is a terrible thing to waste, and I am acontrol freak so it would be insanity that I fear.
I see people saying that insanity can be beat, that is not always true some people go so far inside themselves that they cannot ever come back to reality ever, so insanity is like death it can be permenant, just depends on the person and what caused them to become insane.
i agree i know im going to die so why fear it . but loosing myself completely ..a living death . i would not want.
The saying...There is a thin line between genius and insanity...is true for the most part.
For a genius to have the thoughts they have about everything would push most over that line.
"People who want to live forever are afraid to die."
a quote by me.
Death is something most people fear...because no one wants to die but everyone does eventually.
Yes people do also fear insanity but whether or not you go permanently insane or not...you are still breathing.
In my own world I am insane and so is everyone else in their own ways. Death, I think of death as a friend. Keeps earth equal. in a way death brings life. Like fire burns the forest and new growth begins. Did you know whenever someone dies a new baby is born some where else in the world? Sometimes the earth gets a bit too populated. Imagine how many people would be on earth if death did not exist? I'm not afraid of death, I respect death.
So you want to know if...you went insane and had no way out...would you be better off dead then living with no conscious.I have come close to dying...actually hours away from it...I don't fear it.
I've almost died drowning several times. My heart beat gets slower and I start to lose breath at random times, I'm not sure how serious that is but I was told it's a part of my anxiety, that's what the shrink said. Anyways I have been around a lot of people dying, I have known people that have died
i fear neither death nor insanity for i have come close to dying too many times and i have died once and according to the shrinks im insane
My shrink told me i need professional help ..who knows what that means?..lol
The state wants to do more evaluations on me. I think they are debating if I'm crazy or not.
Death. Insanity would only make life more interesting. ;)
Darkwolfman,
So, are those that are afraid of insanity, stupid?
I do fear only the vacuum when it pulls me to strange suspence and do not fear the death. I did check this both in my lucid dreams.
I don't fear death because its just a part of life to me. From my point of view its a cycle that must be completed, because I consider death as a new beginning. This would follow the belief of reincarnation to a point.
Insanity, I don't know if its fear or if its just the fact that I wouldn't be able to have my family with me.
I dond mind either. let alone fear.
I think I am already Insane. Life has made us all insane.
I think insane people see things differently, that's a blessing, not a fear.
Death on the other hand, is unknown. I do not fear the unknown. but lets say, im just anxious to know whats on the other side....
Cheetahcry,
Half the fun of going lupy is bringing your family with you! *laughs*
nether death is a part of life and insanity is part of life too
death is the circle of life. Insanity is the circle of feelings.
I'm not exactly afraid of either. So far as I have seen, Insanity is uncontrollable. You can be perfectly sane to one person, yet to another, you may need to be locked in a padded room. Actually, I've been in a padded, room. I think they're fun. ^.^
I guess it's safe to say that the concept of what will happen after I die is more of my fear. Will I be forgotten? I don't fear death, only the postmortem happenings, you could say.
i handled myself well on two doses of "Mop Up" ( A Purer saturation of LSD) I lost touch with reality for a day, and a half. A mind can, and has been exercised of madness, motor challenge, mental gymnastics, cognative reconstruction , areas of the mind that are damaged or over
stimulated (drug, or hormonally) can be "bruised', or develop "mush'
as in the damage I did to myself with Meth, to recover the lost brain circiutry, to heal, my mind needed to be active.
Insanity sometime results from a sever react to a string of events that are overwhelming to a person mentally, a person that developed in an environment that was not responsible in the development of that childs.
What degree of recovery is available for people deemed "insane" (note this hardly exists as a dynosis ) is comparable to most neorological recover processes.
Why are people here insisting that insanity cannot be treated, or cured?
I love everybody"s views on this .And i thank you all for the input.
Insanity , Differently ,I have worked with people who were insane and its pitiful they don't know you or there family or even there selves.
Bruce Feirstein:
"The distance between insanity and genius is measured only by success."
Seneca:
"There is no great genius without some touch of madness."
i have a definition for both in my eyes:
Insanity - when one acts insanely and does the stupidest stuff and doesn't care about consequences and wants to feel death, but yet is afraid to go through with such.
Death - a way out of the hardships of life. also known as the fools way out to me. but if this isnt from suicide then it is a release from the pain of life after living for a certain amount of time.
I prefer insanity over death for the fact i would not be able to see the one i love afgter i die.
To be Insane and still living would be a waste of oxygen and soace in my own opinion, if there wasnot coming back. really why want that over death. not me give me death. :)
I wouldn't mind dying doing something completly insane.
id have too much fun dieing by doing something completely insane
I just feel that if i would go insane id end up in jail rakeing my fore head across the bars till they put me away...lol
i'm not really scared of either i live with people that r well... hard to not go insane with the people i live with(nitewulf and sippa) and death is like a big sleep from what i've heard so...
My fear belongs to medical needles i've never liked them
even if u are insane u still breath, u live in your world where others cannot enter, u just achieved other personality...u play your own role..
let's say that if i would go insane ,and i will lose "myself", no problem i will continue to exist and i will do whatever i have to do under to my new personality..
we all sometimes pretending to be someone else ,and we do that very well
and how can u know that u will not love in the same way your other personality?
I fear death more then insanity, because if I become insane, it wont matter to me what happens, I wont care if I die or am dying, since I will not have the sanity of what is happening or why. loll
So I guess fear of death.
Well when you go completely Insane there is no more you or even a personality or anything. I have worked with people that are insane and believe me it is not something I would want to be.
I would not want to be alive and have people poking on me or abusing me ect. how I feel. Shot me and be done with it.
I am assured that I would be taken care of in an institute should I go insane.. Note to self.. going crazy equals vacation.
well being crazy could be a way of release from the world of horrors, but so could death. i would rather go completely insane and be locked up away from the ppl ei love and not hurt them by dieing then lettign them think i was dead and leave all behind while they all grieve over the loss of me.
