We all know how mirrors work.
Well, what if a mirror showed us who we are on the inside, instead of the outside? The mirror never lies or hides anything.
Do you think you'd like what you see?
Do you think that this would help us learn more, or less about ourselves??

Share your thoughts!

I think in a way it could help us learn more about ourselves if you don't really know who you are. It would also allow you to show others the true inner you if you can't already do that. Too many people focus on the outside view and don't take the time to know someone's inner side, but it's the inner side that makes a person.

I know I'd be happy with my inner side. I'm a kind, caring person and always put others before myself. I tend to let myself miss out on things just to make sure the people closest to me are happy and have what they need before I focus on myself.

In retrospect, I believe that if the individual found out who they truly were, there would be mass suicide throughout the planet, or at least mass hysteria.

Just a thought.

chuckling again. that would be kinda cool! we could all just run around flashing mirrors at someone and hope they go POOF!

i always thought you could see yourself through a mirror, i mean inside yourself really. eyes are the window to the soul, so look inside and see yourself. change yourself and respect yourself.
just don't start singing that M.Jackson song, okay!

To the post above: That would be too sweet for words!!!
XD

All are interesting thoughts.
I think it would be an interesting learning expierence...
But, you're right. The suicide numbers would DEFINITELY go up. I didnt think of that before...

But, in a way, that just proves how messed up we truely are~ when you think about it

yup,what if.
But,
we all know the it's nothing but glass made up of melted sand, smoothed when cooled down and broken-cut but highe pressure water. Then some metalic dust or spread sheet is place on the back for reflection.70 years ago the metalic stuff on the back of mirriors had health effect to people who owned too many or got cut by broken mirriors, cause it had high lead in it.
Now,
Threw-enough of that...how about water that reflects.
why does water reflect?and why does a spoon reflect one way upsidedown..the other way right side up?

Actually... if we are truly looking at ourselves in the mirror, that is exactly who we see: the person we know ourselves to truly be on the inside.

While we always project someone else to the outside world and while we can also learn to lie to those around us and, scarier still, to ourselves, as well... yet when we look at our own reflection in the mirror, when we actually stare into our own eyes and see those eyes staring back at us, we do indeed see exactly who and what we are on the inside. Do we not?

Not sure what you are asking, SS...

When you truly look into your own eyes in the mirror... do you not also see the real person inside, the person you really are?

This is not metaphorical and while psychological in nature to some degree, yet contemplating ourselves in the mirror and reflecting (pun?) on who we truly are inside is a very real and common experience I would imagine we all have had... and if not, then one we all should.

Well, I do look at myself from time to time depending on my mood. The face that I see when I stare long enough, a differant face from mayhaps, one of my past lives... This to me does not describe what my true self is. That is unless the trueness of the soul is based off of that differant reflective look.

Hehe old spirits, the sentiment is correlative. Yet our true selves is something usurped from our natural standing. Our vibrations are indexed in a term we could only experience in the 'moment' in regards of time and space, not understanding how things work or how you evolve. When we reach a new vibration or density you will have access of all knowledge of your past ones and understand yourself in broad sense, even when you are reborn you will know what you are and where you been. Mood swings could reflect various postures of one side of many ones, that eventually need to get controlled, since are the things keeping us from evolving spiritually.

Now people may think yeah then why their is cold hearted "higher beings" more evolved, well the answer is there is no being that has evolved spiritually to another density, but have evolved technologically- thats the difference, many things you can't achieve by deeds you can replace with tools, you could be in 3rd density over billions of years and have many knowledge of physical realms, but not close to anything higher than that, unless has some intervention of some sorts. Spirits carry with it a record, that could only be accessible in ascension, ritual or sophisticated tools, who know this, you know it. When we mirror ourselves we can only see the understanding of our current side and perhaps superficial, you could see more of yourself in another individual, than yourself on a mirror. So the inspiration can be dangerous.

In other words: in a mirror you reject what you are and accept what you see or think to be yourself, while what you reflect on others is what you are, even tho you think is really not, or that is a mask of what "you really think you are". And this is discarding the labels and addressing to the psychosocial and emotional behavior towards others.

You could be a mean and arrogant to others and think inside you are not like this and actually convince yourself you are nice and while you don't take preventive action to change how you are or mirror what you are, you still remain reflecting such and the only one fooling is yourself all the time. You could find wonders when you see yourself in a tape outside yourself in the situation, and ask: "am I truly like this" and find surprises.

That post was a re-iterating of what ~Upir~ generally posted. But very well stated nonetheless. My aquantances as well as lady, often tell me that I should either record my voice, or myself and see what happens from the camera or microphone's perspective.

Yes, this could be a very educational experiment for the majority of society.

Very interesting topic. They do say the eyes are the windows to our souls. What I have found is that others tell me what they see in me by looking into my eyes..things I cannot. But I think most of us truly know who and what we are on the inside deep down..but then there are those who are in denial about who they are as a person or else they are so self-centered they cannot see beyond what they want to see. Could be those are the ones who would commit suicide if they could be shown for what they really are. However, I believe we are all able to change and it is our choice as to whether we do or not.

For me it would depend on what I saw to know if i like what I see. I already know what is on my inside and even I don't like it. Most don't know whats on my inside because I don't like to show it.

It would help me learn more because sometimes I don't see it all. I tend to sometimes hide the darker things from myself so i don't have to see.

If i could take some things out of me and throw it all away i would do so but I can't. I have to live with everything. I can learn from everything but I can't take anything away.

I'd see vibrations from within, mostly an intact being with a few cracks here and there, places to heal, yet to discover, some surprises left to delight. I know my dark side, it's the light I seek to release.

Mostly, I'm like everyone else and see what I want to see in the mirror.

My mother used to tell me that if you look long enough into a mirror, you would start to see the real you.

I have a feeling I already know what I would see but at the same time I know there are things about myself that I don't want to know. Everyone has at least a small corner of their inner self that they don't want to know exists. And yes, mass hysteria and suicides would probably ensue.

It takes a strong person to see inside themselves and accept it.

Wouldn't that kind of defeat the purpose for living? I mean, not the purpose but a major player in our role of existence, to develop a full person, to strive for perfection, while knowing and accepting that we will never quite reach it. Part of doing that is finding out who the hell we are in the first place and what we need to improve upon to make us whole. Having a mirror that gave you that truth without any struggle would be cheating, like steroids in the baseball game of life.

yeah i guess so....
the are a lot of things a person don't know about his/herself...
maybe i look at it....

there are a lot to discover in oneself.....
some people don't know how possessive they can be....

there are lot of hidden things to discover....

but if you want to see it right away and not to discover it by yourself... then maybe you will use it....

For me i will surely do....
so i can improve myself....

My question is: when?

The real you contains the you of the past, the present you, and the potential of you.

If I could see all these things clearly in the mirror, it would be valuable. Most often, when you look at yourself you cannot see all of them clearly, or you confuse one of the images with another; like when you hold onto the past.

DJJarak, I think you probably underestimate your value and your contributions. Sometimes it is the slightest glance, the most innocent word, or a cast-off thought that affects someone else. I believe that all of us, men and women, are far less aware of who we are and how much we mean to those around us than we should be.

i think that would be very awesome if mirrors did that,
i'm sure most of the time i would be angry and ashamed of what i saw in the mirror but i don think it would an advantageous tool in helping one's personal growth.

besides, sometimes i dont even know whats going on inside of me, it would be nice if an outside source could answer that question in moments of confusion.

People stress over what they see that isn't there and they stress over the things they feel are horrible already.

I don't think that making them see the insides of themselves would be any different from seeing the outside. They are going to see what they want to see, and react to it the same way.

Do you mean the body of flesh throbbing heart and parts inside with lub-dub of its activities... I think after looking at this peepal will eat less and become slim coz their hunger and thirst will be reduced after watching lever and kidneys working and heart and lungs working and the food passing through food canals and how the wastes are exposed and passing through intestine... it will take long time to adjust with or peepal will forget looking at such mirror.

If you do mean with inner kinship... watching that will be livemare to see inner demon is so ugly and changing theshape and colour with the wishes of mind... you will forget looking at mirror. but i have craze of looking my inner as I am meditator, I will be happy to see myself how ugly I am.... I am really the beast in the space when intaking space energy... the same figure will be live as what comes in my vision who I am... No posing... or role palying...

This is a very good, thought-provoking question! I am reminded of the Magic Mirror Gate in *The Neverending Story* - it shows a person who they truly are, not just what they see on the outside. Engywok, one of the elves in the movie, says "most men run away screaming"...even the most bravest of warriors.

I feel as though I have recently been shown a mirror like this; in metaphorical terms, at least! I've had to do some deep, introspective thinking about who I am as a person. I've discovered that I'm not exactly proud of how I act sometimes, but I know that overall I am a decent person. There are a few things I need to work on, but I'm willing to accept my flaws and attempt to improve on them.

So in theory, as long as one is willing to see themselves for who they truly are, a mirror that could do this sort of "magick" would be something of good use.

Then I would ask, what's the real us, or better who's the real us?

So what/who we'll really see?

And still will that be subjective?

If we have a bad and a good side what we'll really see?

Heh yes this question will make me wonder.

For me there would be no difference I made peace with myself and who I am a long time ago.

I think that would be for the best for everyone. Because there are so many stupid people that when they look into a mirror they can only see the outside, not look further into it to see the inside of them.
As for the other question, I hate who I am, but I work hard to change my flaws every single day.
