I know there are probably a few other threads regarding this subject, but I've got my own questions and I need answers or opinions.

Do you ever question god or our existance on this planet? I'm sure we all do most of the time. I mean if there was a god why would he let there be death and rape and killing? Do you think god is just a made up figure to make our lives seem more important? What or who do you think made the earth and it's people. Do you think "GOD" planned on all the evil in the world. WHo do you think made vampires???

Please answer my questions with serious thoughts.

I think god is made up to scare people so they live a certain way. But I do belive in a higher force.

But if there is a god I seriously doubt he/she/it´s still here. Probably somwhere else with a less ambitious project ^^

Who made god?

I believe you've just proven your existance by staring this thread - we have individual thought patterns and feelings and this makes us real, if we weren't we would not question, we would not have independant veiws -we would be cogs in the machine / bricks in the wall.
As for God....
I believe God was used as an instrument of control by the church and the government of past centuries (and even today really, as many reiligous leaders still use God to make people do what they want) and was used to explain the mysteries of the universe that they could not fathom out back then.

Personaly I dont believe in 'God' I do not have a set religion. When man was first made and started to gain knowledge, they created gods for explain things like why it rained...for instance, they are out trying to grow plants, they get a dry season (and today we know that sometimes it just happens) they believed that the reason it happened was because a 'God' was mad at them. So I find that 'God' was and still is used as a scare tatic. I dont know how we got here, but I do believe we will find out one of these days. I dont mean to step on any toes with religion, just my honest opinion.

You might have a lot of precomsumptions and presume you know things which aren't true. I believe in my own one faith, i pick my destiny, if i choose wrong then i am abiding with "satan", if i choose right then i am abiding with "god".
faith is a battle in these modern times where we are consumers, a lot of people will pull you down and tell you your wrong what ever you do, so just keep strong.

Were the world came frome im not sure. Is god real yes but I dont follow his ways. Im not sure where we came from. Were vamps came from well this is what I belive.
When Kane killed Able many of gods sevents told Kane that he would forgive him but he would not take the forgiveness. He even told god no so God cursed him and now he walks the earth as a vamp. Every body he embraces turns and he can only consume blood. If he trys to eat any thing eles it will turn to dust. Well thats my opinion. I hope this helps.

A God exsists because the first societies needed something/someone to blame for tragedies and someone to attribute good things. A relgion helps galvanize people, something common to keep them together.

I believe that everyone has a certain destiny that he is supposed to reach, but sometimes fate comes in the way and you cannot fulfill your destiny, so you are send back until you do what you were supposed to do. After you`ve reached your destiny, I guess that is some kind of reward, advancing at a new level of energy or something like that...

First of all, God is a misinterpretation, an error in translation from greek to latin... It was supposed to be Gods, but somehow they`ve lost the final "s"... Maybe it was intentional, for economic reasons... Anyhow, i think the only superior force is NATURE, and all that it represents, including human beings. There is a force that unites all of us and that might be interpreted as "God".

I think that God is just an imaginary friend for people who need something to believe in. I question my existance still even tho I am happy. Things I have been through lead me to not believe in a higher power. I agree that we should have no regrets, but what if our regrets are that when we die what we believe in is the opposite of what we thought qould happen?

Do you believe in reincarnation? Do you believe that we were all put on this earth for a reason or to suffer?

Like I said, everyone is here for a reason; maybe some of us are fallen angels who need to pay for their mistakes in order to get back in Heaven... Reincarnation is an option, I think... Depend on your will or on your energy pattern...

As many have said, I do no believe in a god of the kind or magnitude in religions. However, I do belive that men who attempt and succeed in making themselves more than a mere man become gods. Gods to me are merely people who have found the secret to escaping death in lengend, in stories, nothing more and nothingless. No omnipotent being somewhere doing his own shit, thats just nonsense. To me. As to questioning things, I find that we all question these things. If we did not, then what the hell are we living for. Some questions have no answers and the attempt to find that impossible answer is what keeps us going. That is what I believe.

I don't doubt my existence. I exist because I want to.

God is just a very inteligent form of manipulation and also a easy way to deny our powelesness and mortality.
The idea of "punishment" or " rescuew" works...since childhood.

Question God?

I wouldn't say God, but an entity with more power than us is a description I feel should be used instead. Most people consider God to be the guy upstairs with the beard and white robes, while I consider this person as more of a being of morality

I would say yes, because I have such conflicting beliefs, that I can never decide on one thing or another. To answer your comment about death, rape, and killing, death is a natural cycle that must occur. It's like how water turns into vapor, condenses into clouds, and the clouds create rain. We are born, we reproduce, we die, and we return to repeat the cycle. Someone has to feed the worms, right? Without death, we have an imbalance in the ecosystem. As for rape and killing, this brings me back to God being more of a being of morals. When our life cycle finally ends and our souls leave all planes of existence, we go to whatever lies afterwards, wether it be Heaven, Hell, or eternal oblivion. Where you go all depends on the path you have walked based on your morals. If you have done what your soul has considered good, and you have finally finished what you need to to move on to the next stage of being, you go to Heaven. If you have diverted from the path of righteousness, you'll more likely be tossed into the burning pits of Hell., so what all one does during there lifetime reflects on them later.

"Do you think god is just a made up figure to make our lives seem more important?"

It all depends on your belief system. I personally think not. I believe we were all put here for our own purposes, and if believing in God makes you feel batter about yourself, that's fine and dandy. Whatever helps you get through life, go for it.

"What or who do you think made the earth and it's people."

I have no clue on this one, because I couldn't decide if everything was just instantly put here in one swift movement, or everything in the universe condensed into planets, and then living particles evolved into creatures etc. It's hard to believe either, because time would have to be involved, and time, I feel, is just a human invention, so maybe we all really don't exist. Who's to say?

"Do you think "GOD" planned on all the evil in the world."

Yes, for you cannot have balance without either nothing, or two objects being completely opposite. If there was no eveil, then there would be no good as well. Neither can exist without the other.

"WHo do you think made vampires???"

I don't really know about this. As all vampires are just people with leaks in their astral bodies, could it perhaps be just an uncurable sickness?

God is the term given to whatever higher power caused the creation of all that is. He/She/It doesn't prevent suffering for any number of reasons. Without bad, there cannot be good. Without suffering, there cannot be happiness. Doesn't it strike anyone as odd that almost all of the world's religions are basically the same? The idea of God has been exaggerated and misinterpreted, but one cannot completely deny His existence. According to legend, Seth of the Sep Tepy was the first vampire. He gained the ability to travel between worlds and dimensions and lost his connection to the physical as a result.

As a matter of fact it doesn't. in the begining there had to have been only one religion. People have split off from that main religion, because they either don't feel it is right, have a different system of beliefs, or use their idea to gain more power.

I believe most people question this at some point in there life. My belief is that god and all religions are cults and were made up to make people follow some sort of leader & be controled.

As you would know most people in society follow trends and whats popular and whats not & l believe people like that can be easily manipulated into believing pretty much anything there being told.

However l do believe there is something for us after our lives on earth.

I beleive religion is a form of society control and that is proven by the very fact that different soceities have different "gods" I am spiritual in a sense that I feel connected with nature and the world. But worship no form of god, here on earth. When I all the ranges of emotions and physical pleasure/pain, of course I know I exist. But does it really matter I do? Only to the ones I can touch, but not to the world. I think I will continue to live as long as I am remebered.

As long as you don't openly bash someone's beliefs, I take no offense at it.

Those of you who regard God and a higher power as different entities are missing the point. God is merely a name that has been given to the higher power, collective consciousness, etc. Everyone is in control of their own life. Very few religions actually believe that God is controlling your life.

God is a ficticious being created by the church to scare man into living their life a certain way. I believe that every person is their own god. You make your own destiny and everything you have, you've gotten for yourself. As far as Jesus Christ is concerned, he was a fail carpenter who lost his life for preaching about this ficticious god. Poor fool.

What makes you say all that?

Who's to say that God is just a regular Joe like all of us?

*breaks out into song and dance*
What if God was one of us?

XD

I'll shut up now...

god is just an imaginary thought that is used to scare people to make them do the right thing. however no god is used in many other forms such as mosis, muhamid, and buhda their all related to each some how. the answer to that is that their all the same people just change the story around to make the religion a little different.

Yes, this is why organized religion sucks. Because you never get the whole story. I feel that to really get to know God, you have to develop your own opinion about him, not going with what everyone else says who he is.

But to say that Muhammed and Siddartha Buddha were the same person would be foolish. they both existed historically, yet they taught different things.

And Jesus was in the least an enlightened being. To say he was killed for worshipping the wrong god is plain stupid. He was crucified because he was seen as a threat to the Roman emperor.

I honestly have no stand on this currently because I have not decided on my view. I mean one miraculous thing will happen and I will believe there is a God but then something so horrible will happen and I will think otherwise. I guess there has to be a balance between them but I have not found it. I think there is a great possibility that God is a fake idea just so we could have something to believe in but I dont know for sure

I think there may be a possibility of a god, but not one that everyone thinks. I think there is god and devil in each of us, we just have to decide on our own which is more powerful. I think we all make our own choces therefore we are our own gods. Maybe it is just the things that have occured in my life that have made me not believe...

Without the human beings, God would not exist!!! "If there is no God, it should be invented... That`s what humans really did"(Voltaire). God or demon inside us... i think that we have both sides, good and evil, and at the end, after the flesh no longer holds the soul inside, you are put to make a choice... With them or with us(*the daemon inside me is laughing really hard now*). We need to believe in something... but when this idea in which we believe is taken by a group of people in order to gain something for its benefit (and here I`m talking about the priests), that is wrong. I don`t think God exists the way that is generally believed... And the answer to the existance of God will be received in the afterlife... I guess :)

hmm to put here my own opinion it would be too much.. i guess im going to write a book about it so lets do it easier and explain everything with the words of the talmud (i guess its the name of the jewish bible) the bible and the koran... because all of them say the same..

god created angels out of fire and then he created men from mud... after he created the human being he asked the angels to go on their knees in front of his creation and all did, but not lucifer or ilblis... call him like you want.. and this one became the devil as good didnt want do kill him. as god created everything he created vampires too.... that would be the logical conclusion... if you look at the things of this point of view..

but vampires arent part of any of these holy books so they came from somewhere else.. the legends of vampires are part of every old culture and they never ended through history...cruel gods or lords... animals or monsters where the source of it.. so i guess vampires are made by humans... vampiric powers as lot claim to have and only a few have... come from other things and not from being a vampire... if anyone wants and explain he can write to me and i will explain

i believe in god... as someone who is there and watches and judges... he doesnt do nothing cuz he gave us the free will.. the will to do with our lives what we want and so are we doing what we want... to everyone who claims something else.. he or she shall talk to me too..... god i neither good or bad he is just the one that will take you one day and make you again a part of hisself...

its only a way of view i have... i have like ten others too and i dont know which one is right so i keep all... lol... if anyone wants to know the others... feel free to ask for..

befo i stop... if you talk about existance you should read the theories of albert camus and jean paul sartre... two french authors who worked on that subject..

I feel that the Christian god is a dick and that he gave up on the world. He had faith in all of his people and most of them let him down so he said fuck it. As to vampires that is in history and all the entrees (that I know of) depict vampires coming from an evil sores.

As I've said before, God is merely a name. The higher power that everyone refers to, that's God. He/She/It is merely the cause of creation. Nothing more. We are created by God, We return to God when we die. That's pretty much the extent of His powers on this earth.

Jeez, a question like this and I haven't posted yet? I'm slacking.

That is a good question, that of "Why does God let bad things happen if he's omnipotent". Two answers come to mind; one, the bad is necessary for good to exist, for everything to be perfection. * The second, which, while I don't believe it necessarily, I lean more towards this, that God is not omnipotent.

*What is perfection? Can we logically answer that? We make make theories of course, and indeed most of the theories most likely would not include evil (if you are of utopian persuasion). In this definition of perfection, of everything that is good, and powerful, and right, then God is not all powerful.

Or God sees the possibility of good ad infintum, and fucks it up, and for what? WE don't know. Maybe (gasp) HE doesn't know.

Or evil is necessary for good.

What a bitch, what a choice, what an aching skull. Maybe it doesn't even matter, maybe there is nothing, no god, no devil, no soul and no reason for anything.....chaos ad infintum.

Above all, do not trust those who say they have the answer, that their answer is 'right', because no matter what that person has been through, there is always the possibility of neurological damage due to drugs or birth. Make your own decision, if you must make a decision, but do not be influenced by others.

It is the “way” of things, we have no control over the 10,000 things. These various supplements of creation interact with each other in infinite ways. Thus causing infinite reprocutions on everything we see and do. Unfortunately things like death and rape are some of the infinite outcomes.

My thought on this...
The bible is made by man for a sense of purpose in this world and something to look forward to after death for what is unknown tends to bring fear.it is put on a pedistle for others to follow,to live by.it is mans word from, there mistakes and knowledge learned of things.... once the bible is broke, you can never go back but forward!

Wow, what a huge question!
I take a more kabbalistic approach to this I guess. We are all "God" as everything is. If there is a plan there is no way we are going to figure it out. I would think that vamps are as much a part of that as anything else.

I tend to look at our existance as energimatic. All conciousness being of energy. As such, we strive to flow in harmony, yet inevitably when put together with another, like energy, there is disharmony. Fires start, sparks fly, sometimes a good thing, often times a distructive thing. You ask about rape and murder, and things 'bad'. Any time that two seporate energy sources are put together unmanged, there are distructive consequences. Think of God as a switching station. Like the power companies use to join power from multiple power producing plants. Those that believe are joined in a network, so to speak, where sinwaves are matched to allow a more even flow and joining. Those that don't, are continually at odds with oneanother, unable to sync together for a more productive alliance.

I really don't see though, how the existance of a God would make us feel more importaint. Quite the opposite actually. Wouldn't a 'Supreme Being' eventually result in our being less significant?

Just something to chew on for a while.

Hard question to answer without stepping into faith or on to other peoples toes. I would say search yourself and your beliefs for the answer. To ask another person is to ask what they choose to believe. It may not be the answers you are looking for, or even the right answers at all.

God, I think when people say god that is a general description for someone they worship. When they use it they don't really have any idea about who or GOD is in the first place. For example, think of a friends name, you know for sure they exist, you know what they look like etc.
Then think of a superhero, for instance superman, for all we know he could be god to many people, somebody made him up, the only difference is he got a comic book while 'GOD' got a bible. Same thing, find something to put in the centre and see how many people latch on to it.
People are always going to believe in different things, we are all different, it just so happens that people like the philosophy put down in the bible, it comforts them.
The idea of God I think preys on those who are lost, those who are unsure about everything, and need guidance, church to them is a drug, weekly they have problems they are taught can only be fixed by worshipping the idea of god.
Why is it that we always question where Earth and people etc came from if God didn't do it?, but we never ask who created God. If God created him/herself, then who is to say other things do not create themselves? Vampires could certainly have created themselves, one form into another, if I was to go out and kill someone today, I would change, people would give me a new name, its an idea, it's that simple. The world evovles, sure look into history, take it all in, but believe and worship, thats up to the individual.

when it comes to religion, with so many different beliefs, one is always wondering if there is a God, especially when there so many different kinds of Gods in religins

i have questioned it, but i have come to the understanding that everyone is right in their own way...not everyone can be wrong but not everyone is right. We like to believe in better for ourselves...and what is religion but a belief in what we hope is true?

I feel to add:

We always question things when we are in a bad moment or when it comes into our mind to start reflecting.

Life is a retoric question itself so trying to find the truth in everything is all a human nature.

If we aren't supposed to know certain things then it means we shouldn't know them.

As for your second question about reincarnation that is another topic and it was discussed a lot of times and there is even an article about it in the Member's Articles section.

I am Agnostic and my opinion on this subject goes like this. I think there is a higher power of some kind but I do not think there is just one "god" . And I do not have many if any at all for the creation of the world. I just believe there is a higher power of some kind and I questioned the Bible a lot when I was Catholic and my questions were never answered so that is why I think the Bible isn't at all telling the turth. There might be some truth behind it but I'm not sure. But your right if there is a "god" the why does he let all this disaster happen to us? I cannot answer that I wish I could.

The only reason people have a "god" is because people just couldn't handle the fact that once they die there will be absolutly nothing. and apparently that is way to much for peoples minds so they had to make up some sort or remote outlook after death so someone could at least get a good nights sleep from that point on. so now its become such a big deal everyone has devoted their lives to it. its a simple thing to do, and thats why people make up their own, because most people are just looking for "something" to look into and say. "yes, i am (of this religion)" or something along those lines. and everyone who has their own opinon of it. is basicaly making their own idealistic opinion on this theory. its just something made up. and if i am proven other wise when the time comes. ill admit i was wrong. :)

Stab666, you have, in my opinion, the best response here yet. When I was in high school (ha, ha, already having a reunion this year), I was actually working on something like that. While I used elements in place of light, I was looking for a way to kind of place God within the bounds of science. Failed miserably, but your light theory might hold some weight.

Are you going to try to further this theory with research and whatnots?
