I am pretty sure that cemetary dust is cemetary dirt, and cemetary dirt is used in a lot of spells to get rid of people...

I dont see why cemetary dirt would be classed as a bad nature it is the resting place of souls. but if it is of a bad nature I would stay away in my opinion.

I know it is usually used for darker magicks, ie: revenge, to break up a romance,to cause illness in someone.
From what I understand, it is basically what is in the soil after so many centuries. The remains of people, dirt, leaves, plants, and so on.

Cemetery dust is as you have explained above me! It is mostly used for the darker spells and potions, but does have positive values. I think a lot has to do with the person using the ingredients in charms and spells. Lots of people associate cemetery with negativity. This would negate the way a spell or potion is worked.

Someone told me this story. A woman went and got dirt from the cemetary. Whatever she used it for is a mystery. The woman lost her business, her b.f lost his job. True or false I honesty cannot tell you. But thought a interesting read. If you do take some remember to leave a token to apprecaition. The last is my 2 cents.

I've been told all the negatives before. I found a spell, tried it, and it worked. It was a protection spell. it also depends on the grave/cemetary you get the dirt/dust from. Not all dark magic is evil, it just so happens that people tend to cling to evil meanings to things. It's all part of how you use something and your intentions.

*insert heavy sigh here*

Cemetary dirt/ graveyard dirt is also used in white magic. It can be used as a component for healing spells and protection spells.

But it does have its darker side. And most people, due to their superstition of graveyards and ghosts to begin with, automatically associate it with only dark magic.

It is sue in both white and black magic, I use it on both, it all depends if its one of cemetary that was concecrated or if it was from one unblessed, ether way you have to be carefule since it is a powerfull element in a spell, it can bounce back at you if you do not use it carefully and with a total preparation along with the right spells.

It is a base ingrediant in many Hoodoo spells. It is most powerful if from the grave of a powerful practictioner or from the grave of a person who was murdered. The former for the kinds of spells person practiced when alive while the latter for blackest of magicks.

Cemetary dirt is an ingredient in many hoodoo spells as mentioned already. Many times cemetary dirt is combined with other items to create powders. I haven't personally seen a lot of spells where it appears on its own.

I think it's interesting that cemetery dust can be used for good and evil. It would seem that this would be so, since cemeteries are not all in all "evil" places. I think they are quite calming and peaceful. But, the people that lay in those grounds I guess make it good/evil.

IMO, Magick is neither dark or light... I can cast a so called light spell and do as much damage or more as a so call dark spell. It all depends upon the caster.

BTW grave yd dirt is used in a lot of Vudon workings. Just always ask permission from who's grave you are taking dirt from... No need to piss off a spirit, unless you know how to trap them and use them.

I don't recoment this to any novice. You will end up with something on your back that ajax can't remove.... :~}

well I have never tried to use it myself .. but as far as I know its powerful stuff ( depending on the caster) used in many different forms such as curses and summoning spells .. I would suggest doing some research before attemping a spell .. you dont want it going wrong on ya .. some have certain days and times or even moon cycles .. But in the end it all depends on the level of the caster for a successful spell

I would say that what it is depends on where you get it. If you get it from the headstones outside then it is a mix of dirt and elements. Dust and dirt are different as they carry different elements and organisms however, it is a form of fine dirt. But....if you open a sealed tomb, mausoleum, sarcophagus etc....and find dust it is completely different as it is not so much derived from the elements and dirt of the outside as much as it is the remnents of the occupants inside....

Casting spells is pretty new to me. I always thought that graveyard dust/dirt was that soil taken from a grave. Lately I have been studying Wicca and in the spells I have come across there has been no call for grave yard dirt. There have been many good points brought up here such as asking the permission of the person who's grave it is, and only taking from a consecrated cemetary. Thank you for the enlightement.

I believe cemetary dust or dirt is holy and sacred ground not just a christian belief but in many cultures cemetaries are sacred burial grounds. So they are used for protection and banishings as far as I know.

it can also be use to protect, if it comes from the grave of a person that was close to you and rally loving you truely then it can be use as a protection for you, in a spell of just even in a pouch that you keep in a pocket or a purse.

I won't lie, I haven't the foggiest idea what cemetery dust is other than hallowed ground (whatever ingredient that may serve as???) I wanted to add to this thread because i think it's so interesting that your grandmother left you a grimoire and was wondering if you'd be willing to share a page or two (obviously nothing too hairy). I think there would be many people in VR land curious about the contents of a grimoire.
