i used to have a friend that i described as a Psychic Vampire .. because even talking to her on the phone left me feeling emotionally drained .. her demands on my time, my attention , and my mind at times.. were more than i could handle .. she was literally EXHAUSTING ...

i'm not sure she was doing it on PURPOSE and she NEVER described HERSELF as a Psy Vamp ...

My question is .. has anyone else ever had this kind of an experience with a Psy Vampire? ...

And for the many Psy Vamps here... do any of your donors ever describe a feeling of being emotionally drained afterwards ??

OR... do i have a totally warped conception because of a bad experience?

Well, the person I speak of didn't class herself as a psy vamp.. BUT she used to leave people completely exhausted.. she is VERY bubbly and out-going and always on the Go.. and you have to be giving her attention or she gets skittish!
So, yes I have had this happen to me.

I consider myself akin ot psy vamp.. but I oly get my 'hit' from crowded places as it gives me a HUGE buzz...

Your perceptions are not that far off. Those who are draining to be around may very well be psy vampires without really knowing it.

However, I ascribe this to being an emotionally draining person vs an actual vampire. A good book to read about these emotional drainers, "unholy hunger" or something like that. It is a book about the emotionally draining vampire.

Though it does not address the psychic vampire, it does explain the psyche of some who are emotionally draining to be around.

Those of us who are psychic vampires can probably attest to our donors feeling "drained" after an interactiion with them.

My donors, however, tend to feel drained of the bad emotions. One of them who is stressed a lot feels very relaxed afterwards. I try to give them excess energy so that they aren't too drained. And I am careful to only take what I need, rather than feeding viciously from them to where they are hurt or too drained themselves.

minx, negative energy drains are useful for others. the psychic vampire has the ability to cycle energy and turn it to straight prana, which is neither wholly positive nor negative. as such, the negativity doesn't have to affect the psy vamp and the donor gets a reprieve from stress and their negative focus. healthy all around for all concerned.

I had a friend once who after spending some time with, left me drained. It was as if I hadn't gotten any sleep and I just wanted to curl up and sleep, yet when I did lay down, I couldn't sleep.

Stabb, you bring up good points. When I feed, it is never really their "emotion" that I'm focusing on directly. So when I pull energy from a stressed donor, perhaps they are focusing that energy to be released. They are usually just concentrating their energy and emotions into a single thread from which I absorb.

Yes, it is necessary to "distill" negative and positive emotions alike to turn it into the straight energy that is "fit for consumption" for all intents and purposes.

Most of the time, if not all, I find feeding is exhilarating and excess energy, once refined of its negative emotions, becomes a strong catalyst to strengthen and calm my donors. I concentrate on the energy flows so that I am sure to put back some of the refined energy that I create.

For the most part, this refined energy is created naturally. I only know that I filter and cycle the energy within to create that which can be used by my own energy body as well as transfered back to my donors.

If anything, I believe that feeding on a personal level requires concentration. If I am nervous or flustered, a proper feed is never truly established and at most, I take in the emotional energy without really integrating it properly. This results sometimes in a worse energy condition for me.

I've learned from experience to be picky about who I ask to be a donor and who I decline. I suppose that for me energy feeding is much like conditioning a battery. If I start running low, I can't just zap myself with a quick burst and expect that to restore condition to my energy body. Rather, it has to be properly plugged in with the right donor and the right situation at the right "voltage" to have any lasting effect.

Again, emotional vampirism is a term that is used for those who drain emotionally and suck the life out of people with their emotional distress. I suppose that it would be more accurate, per your assessment, Stabb, to call it a sympathetic alignment of energies... I hang around person A who is very emotionally distressed, and naturally I am going to align my emotions in like fashion, which then has the potential to cause an effect upon the energy self.

I have met a few people that were pscy vampires, they do thrive on energy, emotions , anger, fear, love, lust, love, hate, taken from others. I am one myself, however I do control it and only draw the energy when I find myself in situations of very high emotional output, it helps to lessen the drama of the situation and gives me the strenght to continue within the drama

MasterEmmanuelo,

Excuse me if I disbelieve you, but what you are describing sounds much more like a sociopathic state of mind, not a vampiric one.

I have no problem with the question, but with the way the concept is being interpreted.

I have a couple of friends that are very emotionally draining but never once have i thought they were a psy-vampire! I would be more likely to think that i am a good enough friend to someone that they felt they could lay themselves open to me and let me attempt to help them with their issues.

Complex emotional problems do not make a vampire

LizSara - I agree with you! I believe that complex emotional problems definitely do not make one a vampyre.

As for my personal experiences of energy, I can go both ways. When I feed, I tend to take any kind of energy I can find whether it be negative or positive and then either use it or discard with it how I wish.

My donors sometimes feel a sense of being "drained", but I usually do not go that far. I like to not be noticed as a vampire even though my need for energy is great. I tend to take from a multiple of beings in small amounts that way kind of "masking" what my intent truly is. Hope that makes sense lol

I didn't think psy-vampires took emotions from people only energy. So if you are taking energy from someone are you saying you (or your friends) wait until a situation of high drama is unfolding and then have a good old feed because you get more from it that way?

When a person is in an emotional state, more energy is being spent and given off by then, if you are trying to difuse a dangerous situation it is not a feed, simply a way of fixing a problem

I've learned ALOT so far from reading everyone .. and that was my purpose for asking :)

i said that i described my friend as a pyschic vampire .. and back then .. i knew no better... from reading everyone here .. i can see it would have been better to call her an EMOTIONAL vampire... and actually just be using the "vampire" as a metaphor...

again .. i meant no disrespect to ANY one here... just trying to learn more :)

and i hope to keep learning more !!!

Good lord, yes! Some people drain your energy just because you take on their problems. It does not mean they are a psy vampire.

Then their are others who do not realize their gift or have no control over it. Generally, people with alot of drama and demands on your time will make you feel drained. Sometimes you just need to say "It isn't my problem."

I had an interesting experience with my ailing grandmother this last April. My mother and I went down to visit her for a few weeks and any time I spent with her I always felt so deflated afterwords. Now, she's 97 -- so I wasnt tired from keeping up with her.

I know she is not a Psy vamp, but I think because she is so sick she is pulling in energy from other people to keep herself sustained.

Has anyone else had this?

When I lived in Nevada, I had a friend that you couldn't talk to without losing all your energy, or becoming very tired and weak. It was a very interesting experiance, but I feel better now that we don't live so close.

I don't see why they couldn't really, MsDutchess. I know if you have practise with energy work you can give energy to a sick person.

Actuially, here's a good story about it.

normaly i turn to my sources with a question like this but since this i happen to run across this topic i'll ask here.. this is semi on topic but more of a reverse question. i used to work in a kitchen, fired very recently hence why i say used to, as a dish washer. i would work my shift solo over there in dish land and by the end of the shift i'm just like out of gas... but here is the odd part to this, if someone comes back over and helps me its like i just drank a pot of coffee(extream eggeration) and its like i just started the shift. to my knowledge i'm just your run of the mill joe..... does this mean any thing?

I have noticed that my energy donors are always juiced up after I feed. Like they've had an energy drink or something. The feelings or emotions are not what I feed off of, so it would seem to me that taking energy hypes up the emotional feedback. People who are emotionally draining are probably not psy-vamps, just people who are too demanding and too overwhelming in their own way.

However, yes I hve had an experience of an emotionally draining person. Seeing them for small amounts of time if my rule.

Neko, what you described is not necessarily a symptom of vampirism. Anyone who works physically rather than sitting around, can get a second wind when someone else comes by to help out. It's more of a psychological "renewed effort" towards the cause.

Bloodlust, what in particular have you read/ discussed that has led you to this conclusion? When was the awakening? And what symptoms do you display? How do you feed? What does feeding feel like to you? What are the end results on the person you are feeding from? Can you control feeding, and whom do you pick to feed from?

You do not need to answer these questions to me directly, I merely post them here as food for thought for yourself. Many of these questions were questions I myself had to answer, and a few of them I had before I even found out what I was.

Quite frankly I don't believe in PSY vamps. Everyone takes in energy. Not just certain people, and not just vampires. I mean, come on! haven't you ever met those people that talk to you and you just wanna pass out because they wont shut up? They are sucking energy from you. When you walk past a graveyard does it not have an effect on you? or past a funeral home having a service, with everyone standing outside crying. ALL living things need energy, and we get it from everything we see, hear, touch, feel, and even taste. Energy is in everything and in everyone. And don't feel bad, I have friends like that too. if she gets on your nerves too bad just drop her. I believe that every living being is a PSYvampire. Some more than others that is a definite fact! lol.

Some people don't realise that they are draining the energy of others that they are with. I think it's possible for people who are not psychic vampires to do it. Or of they are psy vampires, they have not realised it.

The way you worded the questions was as if this person doesn't care and is not able to control herself. I myself being what I am do not openly just take the energy that I want without asking someone. So I believe she doesn't know what she is.

Sometimes people are not aware unless told and then if they do not have any meditational background may not be able to figure out how to control this. All vamps do this including sanguine. Some just won't admit to it and the older tend to get somewhat of a handle on it.

Empathically most identify that with the Psi but I know many blood drinkers that are very empathic. You need to learn how to shield yourself and that is through meditational/visualization methods. You can find many good websites that will tell you how to shield from being drained. There is always someone here that can refer you or give you advice on this. Privately is better because it would be a tad long here. There are various methods for shielding. I personally like using mental mirrors.

This unfortunately happens a lot and sometimes the people haven't identified themselves as vampiric...what's in a name really. Not everyone draws these conclusions and very often it is what they have been exposed to.
