...so glad today is the last day for these anti-biodics... they are killing my stomach... ugh.
...printing documents to the printers downstairs, so I've been up and down the stairs at least a dozen times in the last 30 minutes.
No shortness of breath, no pain breathing.
And I've only taken one puff from the inhaler, when I first woke up this morning.
The antibiodics must be kicking germ butt!

Yaaaay!
Yaaaay!
That did deserve two Yaaays.
That did deserve two Yaaays.
Well god damn.
I have to go up and down three flights of stairs when I do laundry. It's a pain. Yay for antibiotics.
YAAAAY
actually it deserves 3 :D
WOOT! Just remember to take them until they're GONE! Sorry, it's the nurse in me. I can't help it. :)
...you know when things have just gone from bad to can't get worse when this shit happens to your #1 draft pick...
COMMENTS
But you still have T.O.!
That was an amazing signing, right? Sign a premier wide-out and go with an all-rookie O-Line that can't protect the QB or open up the running game at all.
He knew what he was getting into when he signed up. I say, let 'em crash!
...the Doctor called. The tests show pnemonia, which sucks... not because that is such a bad result or I'll need more meds... the treatment is the same and over the same amount of time...
...except now I will need to have follow-up x-rays done in two weeks.
Yay for spending more money on over priced healthcare services that my insurance won't cover!
COMMENTS
You'll feel better soon. Screw the follow up. It's just another way for you to spend money.
feel better soon, and make sure you get some rest!
Not to mention the extra dose of radiation!
But they really need to know if it's all gone or just a little bit remains such that it is asymptomatic. That's what leads to the various resistant strains of infection.
Feeling better... but what little coughing I am doing this morning is causing splitting headaches...
...just too fatigued from fighting this I guess.
COMMENTS
You gots the ick? Did that a few days ago, zero fun...get better man. Hot totties to the rescue!
awww...birra...feel better soon. i could get all nursemaid-ish on ya and tell you to take things, but i won't do that...just get completely well soon!
Crazy experience just now... laying down, dozing off I felt a vibration on the bed like my cell phone was vibrating.
I pondered it for a second half-conscious... but my cell phone is on the desk...
...I felt it again...
Is Pai doing something? No... he's on the floor...
...I felt it again.
It was my own breathing.
This.
Sucks.
Needless to say I just had a good 15 minute coughing fit and am now thoroughly exhausted...
...if only I could sleep.
...still waiting for the results of my X-Rays from today to find out if I have pnemonia, or if it's just a nasty case of bronchitis.
I'm totally a geek now... I have an Albuterol inhaler I have to whip out when I start wheezing.
Ugh.
Stupid germs.
COMMENTS
Obviously they are a tad smarter than your white blood cells- so let's get them some schoolin'
;)
I do hope you feel better soon!
aw man, that sucks.
*throws a can of chicken soup through your window*
Oooooh my little geek. HAWT
Oooooh my little geek. HAWT
So hot it need to be said twice...
*gives a Quagmire "giggidi-giggidi-giggidi!"*
I still have a pot of chicken soup in the fridge, and it is really yummy. :p
Pai has started running out of the room when I'm coughing...
...yeah, I guess it's time to go to the doctor...
COMMENTS
:( Sorry hon... Get your butt to the doctor...
What she said.
Buyer beware...
...and this is another one of those "gotchyas" regarding mailing in rebates.
A customer here wanted to get a new computer for his daughters because their old one would not keep up with newer flash driven websites like Webkinz and such. So a couple months ago he started asking me for my opinion on what he could get them with a budget in mind.
My suggestion, which remained my suggestion throughout this story was, we have a custom built system on a promo for only $459. It is relatively loaded and comes with a 3-year parts & labor warranty - perfect for a PC that will be used by kids for the next 3-5 years until they go to college.
He hemmed and hawed over the price. Wanted to go a cheaper route.
He looked at refurbished, that with warranty would save him $100 or so... would probably suffice, but the cost still bothered him.
So he came to us last week with a mainboard & processor combo he got a "great deal" on from NewEgg... and asked us to simply upgrade his old system.
1. His old system was proprietary being a Gateway, so the only useable parts were the drives. So he needed to buy a new case and a new power supply and new memory.
2. The CPU he bought didn't come with a heatsink and fan, so he needed to buy one of those too.
3. And of course he needs to pay us to assemble it all.
So... assembly finished and... the mainboard he got was DOA. We tested it, we troubleshot it for a couple hours... no response from the mainboard.
The kicker... since he already cut the UPC off the box for his rebate, NewEgg won't support the board anymore. He's out of luck and out the cost of the board unless he works with the manufacturer directly.
This has been a whole lot of time, cost and aggravation that would have been completely avoided if he would have just taken the advice given in the first place.
COMMENTS
Sadly he won't learn this lesson.
Be a smart shopper, check different places for prices but never assume that the cheap route will be to build it yourself.
There should be more people offering the type of services you do- too bad all you can really say now is "told ya so"...
Yup, I have to agree 100% as a fellow IT tech, this happens all the time. Second guessing the experts...lol. Eventually they learn to just go with the advice, sometimes too late though.
PLEASE tell me why people insist on asking for advice from porfessionals, then absolutely REFUSE to take it, then BITCH when exactly what you told them would happen, does.
Today's beauty of a question:
"most laptops do not need power lines anymore today?
I still use a power line. But today I just find out it work wthout a power line."
Really? Just discovered the battery in it that makes it... portable? Aren't you the quick one....
COMMENTS
I travel with a hamster and wheel usb converter.
you mean i don't need this 100 mile long extension cord?
seriously?
I've been going through Yahoo Answers the last couple days answering tech questions.
Right now though, I have to stop. Some of these questions...
"My laptop and pc usb ports have stopped working, i have a suspicion it s my cooker?"
Cooker? Really? Take the laptop off the stove, man...
"What to put as profile picture for facebook?"
Find a random attractive person and use their picture? Only your friends and relatives will know it's not you...
GAH... seriously??
Got nothing... and I don't want to complain about anything right now.
Carry on, my wayward son.

Damn...now I'm going to have to go dig up that album...
I don't know what is worse... reading journal entries with no punctuation or reading journal entries with too much punctuation used in the wrong places and the wrong way.
...I was looking forward to doing more last night besides trying to just stay warm and sleep.
FEH.

There is nothing more romantic than to share your germs with the one you love ~grins~ kidding. Get better mang! That way you can share your goodness with her without infection ;)
You make snuggling sound so... dirty...

Participate in a customer feedback program?
Uhh... has anyone suggested yet to design your software so it doesn't lock up my phone and make me reboot every other day?
Other than that, I've got nothin'.
...one in the same, baby. One in the same.
On a lighter note, I'll have 24 by the end of the week.
Getting there.
I am ready for the week to be over.
I am. Really.
COMMENTS
Me too.
Mine is over...bliss.
My week has been so full of repsonding instead of reacting...that in itself, is wonderful!
Most of my days are the same...one big blur, so it really doesn't matter to me when the weekend comes.
MIne just ended about 45 minutes ago. And a damn good thing, elsewise I woulda gone postal after anymore.
Came home to find my husband had installed the new high power shower head...
*sigh*
I love men sometimes...
...you're a third-party warranty provider with many, many employees. We are one of your service agents. You send us on a service and we report back to you the repair that needs to be made.
One of your employees sends us an authorization for the repair on company letter-head giving us to go-ahead to get the repair parts and schedule the service.
The customer - YOUR customer - is also notified by YOUR employee and is expecting the service to be performed.
Now you decide at the last minute that this repair does not fall under the terms of their warranty...
Do NOT call me and tell me it is my responsibility to work this out with YOUR customer.
Do NOT tell me that the money we spent on parts for the repair is non-reimbursable and it is OUR responsibility to bill it to YOUR customer.
Do NOT call me with this information and then tell me it is a different department that is actually handling this and I have to call back in and sit in their 45-minute hold queue to speak to someone about it.
BULLSHIT.
We work on YOUR behalf. The CUSTOMER bought the warranty from YOU. If you have a problem with YOUR warranty terms, you work it out.
I know all of that is meaningless to everyone who reads this, but trust me, I would never do this to one of my customers.
These big companies... suck.
COMMENTS
Ahhh, yes. Customer service and the dreaded warrantee. I feel your pain my friend from the customer perspective to be sure and I hope never to be in a situation where I have to tell my customer who services other customers that they are wrong and need to pull their head out of their ass.
:O
What company is this?
... SO that I may prevent myself from ever placing myself within a situation like that with them...
Oh wait.. Never mind. I stick with Aspire- I'll never have that problem. ^-^
*Goes around birra's storage facilities with a feather duster and some glitter making everything sparkle...*
;D
I can relate and I understand. What I don't get is how do companies like this expect to have and keep a solid customer base if they screw them over?
...some peoples' Facebook updates remind me daily, life is what you make of it.
What was that saying? "Life is not about holding a good hand, life is about playing a poor hand well."
I forget how ridiculous public whinning and complaining looks from the outside. I will stop doing that...
At least I have to constant feed on Facebook to remind me now...
COMMENTS
You know Blueberry Muffin Man.. I never actually thought about that....
I will stop doing that and actually censor myself with some of the shit I post. I keep forgetting it is not like my VR journal (which I have been in a way neglecting) and that everyone within my friends list on Facebook gets the update...

Thanks for the reminder. :P
...I don't think the thermostat zone in my office works. Set to 68F, temp is reading 61F... the rest of the building is at 65-67F...
Brrr. Need... hot... coffee...

you know, you can make a simple campfire out of common, household objects.
and/or office supplies.
note: ThothLestat is not responsible for personal injury, physical damages, loss of life, arson, or explosions. Please consult your employee handbook and all applicable local statues before taking his advice.
Make sure your cell phone is handy to call 911 if you do the campfire. ;)
You know, for the amount they want me to insure this place for, the campfire idea isn't a bad one....
I'll trade your temp for the 77 it is in here o.0 at least in those temps you can put on a coat, I cna only get so nakie before people would start to think I was a perv in my own office. Well...they might think that already, but at least I know better ;)
Fucking pointless.
It really is.

antibiotics will do that, unfortunately. have you tried some yogurt? or taking acidophillus pills? that will usually even out the effect. ah well, it's the last day, anyway. hope you are feeling better!!
