Is there a link between having a spirit that follows you and the dreams you have that come true?

No, I don't believe so. Dreams that come true are called premonitions. A spirit that is following you, well I would need to know more of the particulars before I could say for sure what that would be.

Ok I picked up a spirit along time ago messing with a ouija board and not knowing what I was doing! The spirit that has followed me is not at all a mean one. But Not long after that I started having these dreams that were like I was there. So I thought maybe there might be a connection seeing they were dreams that came true!

dreams are the door ways to the future, but only very few ppl get the ability to knwo the future. and you should use it wisely and never abuse it. i beleive in alot of this stuff and it is very true. but being able to know and to learn how to use it when it doesnt end up being to late to do anything. but then knowing when or when not to do something about it.

And it stands to reason that if you get a premintion and try to prevent it that what you do might actually cause it to happen.

Well I have been able to sense when something is going to happen usually bad things and I've been able to stop things before they have happened but the details are usually not clear. It's like I know roughly what it pertains to but not quite sure exactly when or how its gonna happen I hope this is making sense to you all!

yes it makes since, but you have to know when it is safe to enterfere in something and stay out of it. because sometimes interfering can make things worse.

Well... no idea if you have to worry about, you should know the spirit, if it is violent... well.. worry about, but the most of the times they show you things that you can help them about, its mean that they need a favor to pass over, so they need help of a physic-spiritual person. Or they are just poltergaist that just wanna boder you.

It makes sense to me, but is the spirit that has attached itself to you showing you your life or theirs. If it's showing you theirs then the spirit feels it needs someone to know what happened now this could last for a while it is hard for people without a strong psyche to get the full picture so,in turn the spirit has to reshow you things. I f it is showing you yourlife than the spirit has chosen to become your guide or protector, which is not uncommon.

I actually get other peoples lives but usually I can't do anything about it because its like its happening while I am dreaming. (SEE JOURNAL UNDER STORIES ) I hear about it when I wake up the next day. This is why I was wondering about the connection why wouldn't it give me more time or show me something I can do to help!!!

I do know you can talk,see,and fight with a spirit in your sleep they can even hurt you I have the scars to prove it .. but they can also be nice ....

For dreams that come true freak me out because all my nightmares 90% come true 0% of my dreams like sex with a Angelina Jolie come true(figures)

But its wierd you get such deja vu when your out with friends or home alone and end in the same scene as your dream....

i've had dreams that an event would happen and it did actually occur but as to if spirits had anything to do with it i don't think so. it was one of those things that it was up to the person what they were going to do and they just happened to do what i dreamt they would a few months before it happened.

Well.. if its happening wile your sdreaming it could be (like someone else say before) an out body experience, this could be happening cause you are amotionaly linked by someway and the spirit just are making you spiritually more powerfull or he's being a canal for the experience

Sometimes the spirits just show you enough to help you understand what has happened or will happen.

the reason why they don't show you all of the message is because a dreamlink is a fragile thing. The spirit wants to make sure it has your attention most of the time. Dreams are such a hard way to get a message through, because you only have so much r.e.m. time when your sleeping.

yes..i belive there is..your dream are a way for the spirit to connect with your connsesnuse...and therefor give you addvice or a heads up for certain situations.

First things first....LOL...NEVER mess with spirits, paranormal etc unless you know your own defences can handle them...a little late for you now I know, but not too late to do something about it....get your defences working properly and then see if it still happens...if it does, its not the spirit, if it doesn't it still may not be the spirit, but at least it isn't freakin you out anymore...

I won't put past the concept that a spirit guide could send you messages in the form of dreams.

Hence, those dreams coming true are just you getting mesages that it's going to happen, and it does.

I believe in something. I get "deja vu" so bad, I can tell you the rest of your sentence. And somehow, I get messages that I've left for myself, like sticky notes. One such message told me not to trust someone...I had no reason not to trust them...but I found out later it's a good thing I listened to myself :)

I have no idea if a spirit can take the dream, though I would think so, because they certainly have no where else where they have as much power as in your subconcious. That's where your real dreams and fears are hidden and that's where they can find some real power..

DEFINATELY NOT!! the preminisions you have in your dream have nothin to do with spirits that follow you. in your sub-conscious, you know that something will happen that hasnt yet. so you have a dream about whats gonna happen in the future because you already know that its gonna happen. just on a sub-conscious level.

They say in a dream that the veil between life and death is the thinest so it is possible for spirites to affect the dream there fore yes there can be a connection between the two.

I would do a simple chant - of protection simply warding away beings and energy that mean evil. If the spirit means no harm then it should still be able to speak to you.

there is no relationship between a spirit following you and dreams coming true but with the preminitions that is true cause I see the future in my dreams all the time and there is no relationship between the 2 but the spirit following you might be an old friend or family member that passed away but that is an oppinion I had to add to this forum and thank you

spirits can have minimal effects on your dreams. If your subconsious knows a spirit is there then it may leek into your dreams but thats about it.

If one or more of you know for sure, and you contradict eachother, then somebody's wrong, and doesn't know all they think they do.

And who are you to say you know everything? About the only person I'd trust to tell me about what's real is someone over 80 years old. Even scientists can't answer this crap, so neither can we for sure.

Most we can give is opinions and otherwise say "it's possible".

I hope that I am not too late to put in my input, (and know that i am rather new) but I am of the mind that yes spirits can effect your dreams. As a point of this, my father visited my twin brother the night he died. My dad was most worried about my twin out of all of us, and we feel he wanted to say a special good bye. Just my two cents.

I asked a friend of mine and she had an interesting idea for this.

Spirits are found everywhere, in energy forms which is almost thier way of resting. While they float along, they are unaware of where they are and where they are going. They have, in essence, no conciousness...
Occassionally when a person sleeps, or is under the innfluence of some drugs, he/she can move into a borderline state of the same thing. We lose counciousness, but the subconcious keeps us from moving on. It makes your body work while sleeping.
Spirits, especially those following a certain energy pattern (aura) can sometimes meet the sleeping spirit at the gate. Where interaction is possible, though not stable.

I also have to say that I like what lillyrose's comments. I still feel that the supernatural can have an effect on our dreams. I know that in addition to my father, my wifes grandparents frequently visit my dreams, I am more sensative to the paranormal than my wife, and so when the ancestors need to give us a message, they go through me. I just feel that I have had too many dreams where grand mother Yang has given me a message for it just to be in my mind. I also say this as a convert to my wifes religion (Hmong Ancestor Worship)

how would the spirit no who u are if they are only in ur dream and how could they no if somethings goin on in ur life??????? i think they can tap into your subconcious and tell what your feeling and if theres something wrong

I don`t really think that there`s a link between spirits and dreams... "they" say that spirits/ghosts are tormented souls that are trapped in our world... and dreams that come true..are actually premonitions... sort of speek

Well I'd have to say yes and no from personal experience. Most dreams that come true are called premonitions. But to me atleast sometimes my spirts (yes spirit, I'm a Shamin in training) show me things that will come true. So I guess you could call that a premonitions to, but my spirits showed it to me so it ties together.

In regards to what you had said. I was reading a member article about other demisions. And I have to say I had heard what you did about spirits being trapped here but what if there is another demision in which spirits had learned to travel and to communicate with us in our demision. That would then make what we had heard about spirits being trapped as a myth. And would make it possible for them to have a connection.

The longer this thread goes on the more I believe that there is a connection. I have had to much experience in my own life to think otherwise. This thread was to see if anyone else out there had shared my feelings on it.

2 spirit type that are most common that linger here are poltergeist and quicksilver

poltergiests are mischief makers usually unable to hurt you not like the movies
and quicksilver feel they have to do something to help in the world usually those who were greedy in their life and forced to help in the after life


as for dreams yes those that come true are premonitions and some are your animal totems trying to talk to you

i believe if at a given time a spirit can talk to you an follow you, but as for them being in dreams i am not so sure of well not that i have had any in the dreams i have had, but i have had alot of premintions, and i've had a few come true

spirits use dreams to contact people, usually lost loved ones with a message or it may be following you because it has some sort of emotional attachment to you or it may think you can do something for it.. but no, they arent linked to premonitions.. thay can show you an image from there past life but they cant show you the future.. thats a power all in yourself..

People sre spiritually aware in so many dofferent degrees, some hardly at all some work with spirit in their own way.

One should never play with anything one doesn't understand..... be rather foolish to jump into a car without a lesson, but with all the hype in media etc re spiritual happenings and all the crap one sees in some TV shows then a lot are being drawn in. If they are able to seek out those who know what they are doing then they can develop their own gifts to whatever level is meant for them.

As for this instance, perhaps the board opened your awareness, spirit will give in dreams if they can't access in other ways,

In my opinion and from how I work, you are given only what you need to know ... sometimes it's so you can make a choice, sometimes as a guide..... again depends how good the person is when they connect.

My advice would be to see what resources are in your area......where I come from we have spirtual churches where one can join an open circle for development...sometimes you then meet with those who can take you further if thats what is meant, don't know what is available to you but just look and listen and learn before you trust the first one who claims to have the gift..........

Jessa, I really like the theory in your post. In those parameters, I still feel that at least in my dreams, they are being affected by deceased ancestors. That feeling though comes form my spiritual beliefs, being my base.

I'm not sure if this is the place for this question but...What about feeling the physical and emotional pain of others. There is a particular person in my life that I always have premonitons and such about. I also feel this persons pain and can tell them what mood there is and where they were/are hurt before they tell me. What is this called and is there a reason I have a link with this person? This person is also in my past lives... What does it all mean? And also, If history has a habit of repeating it's self then does that mean that sooner or later she'll die the same way she has before, in that much pain? ...

I think that anything is possible. For that matter, anything is probable. So many people look at spiritual beliefs as something heretic, or filled some kind of psychosis that needs medical attention.

I think a lot of things can connect with you in your dreams. Whether or not they can make you pre cognetive I don't know. But I think that it is possible. Or it's atleast possible that having a spirit connected to you could make you more sensitive to other things.

Who is to say that it is only spirits who haunt our dreams, my wife (BelleIsra) brings up the point that it could also be other worldly or non-worldly beings, such as dreams walkers. But to do back to the point of spirits, there is numerous variation of spirits.

Spirits can and will come visit when you are dreaming. When you dream you conscience mind is mostly or completely shut down. Since in most the conscience mind will not allow communitcation with spirits, they come to us when it is only the subconscience is working. If you get to the point you have contact with the same spirits while awake you have progress far! As for if you should be afraid of them. HECK NO! The ones you have to worry about are the ones that make you feel ill when they are around. I find that most of them will try when you are awake actually. It might just be me but when I am asleep I seem to have the most protection from those that want to do me harm. It might be because that is when I have the strongest conection with the deity energy that I come from... (Interesting thought, it actually just occured to me too.)

The problem with spirts, dreams and ect is each case is different. The paranormal is very unpredicable, you never know whats goes to happen.

I belive in the paranormal so don't disbelive just yet because seeing is beliving and beliving is seeing!

i think that things happen because you want them to happen, although i do believe in tha paranormal. ghosts, evp, spooky things, etc...i believe in all of that, but i dont think that a spirit can make something happen by his or herself, unless i have misunderstood spirit, and you mean the spirit a person believes or doesnt believe he or she has inside. then it is all internal. eihter way, i think premonitions, dreams, hopes...they all come true because you make them come true.

You can interact with just about anyone in your dreams if you really want to. Enemies, friends, strangers, spirits even Deities.

I am a clairvoyant and work with spirit.....I work with guides and also spirit who have passed into the next stage and come back to give messages to those they knew here

Some get 'stuck' here for various resons and we pass them on to where they need to be.

Dream state makes us more responsive to those who wish us to know something, that 'gut' feeling, intuition... is the gentle nudge sometimes to give a helping hand.

There are all sorts of entities one could connect with depends if you have the will or the skill...if you have not the skill then there are some places it is best not to try and find.

Dreams are interpreted in many ways, some will do it spiritually some look in a book where certain things have a meaning, if it works for you then it works

I believe there is...in wicca, there is this thing called Astrodream or something like that....it is an out-of-body experience...i haven't tried it yet.....

Astrodreaming is a form of Astroprojection. Most people do it in some form at least once in a while. With practice you can get to where you can control it and do it at will.

Ever had a dream where you were somewhere or somewhen that you were not in the dream but watching it? Even watched yourself in it? There is a good chance that you were astrodreaming.

Dreams and spirits are usually unconnected though there are times you can and may dream of a spirit that has a message for you if thats the easiest way for you to be open and accessible..
