The Ultimate Vampire Resource and Directory

Ok so they have been here for more than a day and some of us have been placed in a House. For the Sire's they can branch off and create their own Conven's and things.
So what do you think of the House you ended up in? Do you like it or not?
What do you think of the general concept of the Houses being added to VR?

Personlly I think it's a a little confusing to begin with, but overall a good idea. Almost competative.

So.. ideas?

Not in one seeing as my level isnt high enough but they look interesting enough

I've not checked out any of the other houses, but I am happy to be where I am. I feel that I have things to offer my house andI will therefore benefit.

Do yo also like the privledges Sire's get?

The concept will make it more interesting here. I think it will be a few more days before members will get a better understanding what will be expected of them. With that said I believe I will be happy with my House.

Since the Sire's have attained such high levels, I feel it is a good thing that they have choices. I also like the fact that they can create covens within the houses. It makes it all that much more interesting and makes me want to advance quicker. Granted, I am a long way from achieving such stature as the rank of sire.

I am very intrigued by the entire addition to the site, and definatley look forward to seeing how it is going to develop. The potential I see for it allows for some pretty awesome ideas, and I'm sure Cancer has far more plans for it then have ran through my head.

As for the house I was inducted into, I am quite pleased with it.

I love my house and I love being a Sire...
I think it's a great addition to VR, it just never gets boring here. And yes, it seems like there will be a whole lot of competition going on... But it's just fun after all, lol.

I do like the house I'm in as well (thought seeing as I made this thread I should also answer the question I asked).
It is a bit confusing to begin with and I also think there maybe almost jealousy from other members who are not in houses.
I personally, now I understand it, do like it a lot and hope it stays round.

I think the idea of the houses was to get more participation from those within the site. And it's working. I logged in and after I finally figured out what was goin' on, I noticed that opposing house members were already showing their competitive side in the Vamp Box. Intriguing and very entertaining to say the least. Makes me wonder what else Cancer might be up to in the time to come and the development continues and interests are spiked.

P.S.~I like the whole concept...extremely clever ;-)

I love my house and the whole idea...i just wish my boyfriend was in the same house...oh well...let the competition begin!

I would have liked the same with my fiance. I think there may be some method on that.

Being only a level two I am not in a house either but it does look and sound interesting. As for wether or not it's a good addition to the site; I say it sure is. Healthy competition is always a good thing. I look forward to participating in it one of these days.

I really like this- people that join here are going to learn more about vampires than ever before, with the implementation of the new system.

Rank has it's priviledges so I am very happy that Sires are given new opportunities. It gives us all something to strive for~ although I am not sure I would want to break away from my House.

I am very pleased with the House I am in.

I feel the same way, there are a few people including my boyfriend that I would like to have in my house. *sigh*
They've split us all up, lol. Feels like there must be a reason to it...

But, then again, not being with those you already know makes you more open to getting to know "strangers"...

Exactly, if we all had our favourite people in our houses we would probably form several smaller groups in them instead of being as one... That's just natural.

I think it adds a bit of competition to Vr & i think it will definitly help add to the site usage. Definitly makes passing the time on here easier.

i like the idea of the house's being added, it is a little confuseing but its new and we still have to learn more about it to understand it

I am very happy in my House. Although it is all still a bit confusing. It will just take some time. The games could be a tad bit easier. hehehe

jtavarez50 : to answer your question, it is possible to join a coven and be in a house at the same time. However, one of "Sire" status would have to start a coven first. Hope that helps :-)

PandorazPixie, actually you cannot be a member of a Coven and a House. You may only be in one or the other. This is the chief reason that a Sire would have to leave a House to form their own Coven.

Covens are not sub-divisions of Houses. They are simply a different society created by a Sire rather than a Master.

This does not make them inferior, either. Just know that the Sire's power to hold their membership is not as strong as the Masters. This is the chief difference.

Ive seen both sides of the houses arguement...
my pov is that the houses will take some time to get accustomed to and settle in to vr life.. tho once that happens it will be good:)
I only have one concern and that is whether the houses will only be into favourtism and the high rating people.. yet i also see that this will encourage more usage of the site therefore it makes things more interesting

well, to answer your questions love, the houses are still new so we will have to wait and see how it works. im sure it will turn out to be a great addition, most will love it other's probably wont.
yes, i would have loved to be in the same house as you but im sure there is a reason why couples such as you and me, bloody and renshai and some others have been put into different houses.
and yeah, i love the privileges of a sire because i dont really have to worry much regarding the houses, do i?

I had already held skepticism about this site being conducted as if it were a video game... The houses,... I am not necessarily thrilled about either, as participation is generated and influenced by the VG model. Theres a difference between being an enthusiast, and a degenerate.

Of course, one reason why nobody would be willing to disagree is because of the possible, and in certain situations, certain backlash of argument and discrimination,... so why don't I just give a big fang-filled smile, hum a song to myself, and accept the state of affairs with a proceeding silence?

With respect i dont think you have been here long enough to make any kind of judgement on a new feature added to the site.

i dont really like how it is set up. i like to be in control. oh well, there is not much i can do about it. as to the levels... hehe cancer is just trying to make there be more things to look forward to at the higher levels.

I think it's a neat thing. I'm happy about it. you get to meet new people and such, Just having a hard time keeping up with my usual ratings and then forum posting lol.

The addition of Houses, to me, only seems natural to a vampire site/ community.
And I see only good things happening.

I like it, and I am anxious to be invited into a house myself, but I am patient enough to wait until my time comes.

I have my eye on one in paticular, and I hope it is the one that selects me, but I will serve to the best of my ability whichever master blesses me with their induction.

I've been out for a while and its great to see cancer came up with something new. I will so try to be back on as often as i Use to be to see how this all goes.

It looks interesting I am not quite done reading i was shocked when i noticed i was a member to a house and i never asked or anything but over all i am pleased

This is the start of something that will need a little time to flesh itself out, but I definately think it is a great idea.

it's going to take some getting used to for everyone, but overall i feel that's it a good thing! The houses give you that much more of a reason to be on and to participate, as your participation helps your house!
Personally, I'm excited! I'm in the perfect house for me, and look forward to contributing as much as possible!

At first I took it negatively cause I tought people that belonged to another house and had made friends with them,would change their attitude towards me,but it didn't happen,they still remained friendly.

Also I don't like competitions that much am afraid they might cause enemies but I guess if it's healty and people keep in theirm inds that it's just a game and that they shouldn't take it too personal,I guess it will end up good.

I just read the FAQ for now haven't checked anything that has to do with the house yet,but I'll do it today.

It's more interesting than I thought it would be. It adds a good new dynamic to the site.

This is an interesting concept to say the least- this place truly is another world- we have our society, our rankings, and even gods (if you consider Cancer and the moderators to be such things).


This is an uncommon dynamic in the internet today.

Just my thoughts.

First off...I love my house....It is an honor to be in such good company there...

To those that DON"T like being in a house, it doesn't effect your normal activities at all, so keep doing what you are doing...its just added features that some of us find extremely time consuming and yes even more addicting than before..dammit...LOL...

I see it as an opportunity to see the "insides" of a lot of people I never would have spoken to at length otherwise, and because of the forums and other things within the houses, I can make a lot of new acquaintences and friends and learn much more about them...

I have some of my best mates in my house, even though by beloved one is not, and that makes it a tad easier to adjust and feel very comfortable in the new skin so to speak...Plus the Queen of Yummy is in my house so pfffffft!!!!

sorry in a bit of a hyper mood & do not know why...besides... someone has to be cheery today...unfortunatly it had to be me.

I feel the site began to be a bit stagnant and with the inception of houses now has brought about a new revival to it. Competition and comradely is a great way to get people involved and motivated to participate.
