How do you feel about the other religions?
When I was younger, I believed in Christianity- only because that's what my family practices, so I just assumed that's what I should be and accepted it as truth. The idea of different religions never really crossed my mind until I was in high school. Then I happened to stumble upon Wicca, and fell in love with the idea of it. Now, I have started really studying it, and am excited to get started with learning more about it. I think it's the fact that it's the energy you create, what you put into it, will affect the results you get. So to me, it's almost a challenge. I have to get in touch with myself spiritually and really get to know myself and learn to block everything out so I can concentrate on what I'm doing. Also, such as in Christianity, all they do is pray to God to take care of them, to fix their problems. With Wicca, we attempt to take care of our own problems, with a little help from the deities. This is just my view so far. I only just started seriously studying it and these are just some thoughts I have. I really haven't looked into many other religions to really give an opinion.
What religion do I practice =
I practice a bunch, ranging from Wiccan, to Native American.
What makes me believe in these religions =
The moral truths and my firm belief that the energy that I have witnessed that stems from these beliefs improves both the quality of life for not only myself, but for those around me as well.
What is my opinion on religion =
My opinion on religion is that there is no set right or wrong religion. There are many for a reason. I believe there should be as many religions as there are people that exist on this earth. Whatever stabilizes you and provides you the confidence to live a morally appropriate and fulfilling life.. this should be what you follow.
How do I feel about other religions =
I feel there are no wrong religions. The only thing I look down on, is when others attempt to shove their beliefs down my throat. When it turns into needing to be 'right' and more 'powerful' than others, it no longer becomes a religion, it becomes a dictatorship. These are usually fueled by money, or need for control. Unfortunately this sparks a whole new subject about human nature and the need to dominate "weaker" beings. Over all, so long as we are able to coexist harmoniously, I do not judge, nor presume any other religion is 'wrong'....
Im a Sub Genius. A "religion" that doesnt take itself too serious.
I don't really practice a specific religion. I suppose my belief system is unique to me, as it was sort of derived from how I feel personally, and from personal inclinations/perceptions. However, I do enjoy reading about religions, philosophies and myths...and well I think it's important to take bits and pieces from every religion, or to take the good from each religion, or myth, or legend...just to have a well rounded, positive way of thinking, to have a little something extra to believe or think about.
I am wiccan. I guess i got into it because it's what my mother practiced. Since i was young, i could feel the energies coming from people, plants, animals and other things. I think religion is up to the individual and which path they would prefer to follow. If a person does not wish to claim a religion then that is fine. Their choice. As for what i think of other religions, well, i don't believe that any religion is wrong nor 100% right. Personally there are beliefs from different religions that i agree with and others i don't. But i don't sit here and tell people that their religion is wrong and they must choose my path. To each his own and i hope they enjoy their choice.
I thought we weren't suppose to talk about Religion or Politics here but I'll answer if I can.
My leanings are toward Deist and interest in Odinism.
I'm a spiritual person more than anything but not exactly superstitious. I went this direction because I delve too much into the origins of things, lol.

What makes you believe in that religion?
What's your opinion on Religion?
How do you feel about the other religions?
A. I grew up Christian but my mindset changed in my early 20s whenever I started to question ancient history and their belief systems and how certain things came to be.
I turned into more of a spiritualistic individual instead of a religious one because I feel that being involved in only 1 specific belief system is very limiting to one's growth of soul.
My opinion on religion is that, there are many truths and untruths. There will always be a house to welcome you into it. Sometimes you are born into the house and don't know what it's like outside of it but i've learned there's way more information outside of religious concepts. Each house has their own version of what Truth is, but most are theories and unproven facts, and have their own ground rules for everyone. Most of the rules are common sense. Maybe they were formed because man doesn't always have common sense or doesn't know how to use it, which i'm sure most of us can agree to. If being religious, whatever it is, makes you a better person and you are learning something worth while from it, then good for you. But if being religious keeps you separated from others or disconnects you from others of a different mindset, then that sort of guidance needs to be addressed.
My feelings on Religion is that, the ones that use it from a Power stand-point, really irks me to no end. From a historical view, I am so sorry for the one's that have died by another's hands over it. No one on this Earth has the right to the things they have done. Many things are kept from society with good reason. It's a shame it has to be that way. Religion can be a destructive force but I don't believe that was the true intention of it. You give someone a little knowledge to someone with bad intentions, and others suffer the consequences. I think as long as you have peace within self, it doesn't matter if you're religious or not.

How do you feel about the other religions?
I'll answer these questions that I left out previously. Talking about religion is a very personal thing. I already said where I fall on my post under Asphalt Tears. I don't qualify as a Christian because I don't believe in the miracles attached and a long list of other things such as the Trinity. The Odinism or Northern beliefs deal with my heritage. I don't necessarily believe in them but am drawn to them.
Religion to me is a man made idea, at least organized religion and I don't think it is necessary. As far as other religions they are fine. I think everyone finds their own path where they are meant to be. I really don't have any feelings about them until or if they infringe on my freedom to choose what I believe. I don't like evangelizing and forcing of views on others. That is the only negative thing I could say because I'm not familiar with all religions everywhere in the world. There are a slew of them. I also feel that some classified as religions are stretching the definition. I hung with Spiritualists for years so some of my leanings are in that direction as to certain beliefs connected to life and death and a higher consciousness over everything in existence.
Im a wiccan my self I believe in god But I also practice love and protection I consider my self a switch with religion so there's that answer
laughs hope you enjoy " and nice to know who everyone is or is about I like to meet different people here again is why were here is it not?
Q: What religion do you practice?
A: Technically none, I believe in a connection between all energies, if I truly had to put a label on it, most likely Pagan, but then I have beliefs in Wicca (which is generally the same thing in many ways), and I believe that when we die we return to pretty much a form of Ascension. If anyone watched the Dresden Files, I pretty much believe in that. lol
Q: What makes you believe in that religion?
A: Truthfully, I tried pretty much every religion out there during the course of my life and none made much sense, I mean when I was little I went to a Baptist church, so I'm pretty educated in the Bible... and seriously after years and years of researching, seeing the world around me, the belief in energy is just there.
Q: What's your opinion on Religion?
A: To each his or her own.
Q: How do you feel about the other religions?
A: Generally depends on which religion, since I believe the Monotheistic Religions are a joke, to me Constantine the Great (Last Emperor of Rome) used the Nicene Creed to write the bible for a grab at power and look at the church now... its considered a superpower, and their Priests get away with every "sin" that they guard so well. So much for the Ten Commandants right? Murder, rape... hell the Priests take a vow of celibacy and break it. Just how I feel about that one, any others are fine.
THERE ARE NO RELIGIONS,ALL ARE ONE,THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD,NOT MANY, GOD'S,GOD COMES TO US IN MANY FORMS,JESUS/BUDDHA/MOHAMMED/AND MANY OTHER DIETYS,BUT THEY ARE ALL THE SAME GOD,ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS LOOK WITHIN',YOURSELF,AND THERE GOD WAITS FOR YOU,YOUR ONE IN THE SAME,GOD IS IN EVERYONE,EVERYTHING,ONE',SO SIMPLE.YET MANY PEOPLE,DONT GET IT,JOHN LENNON SUMS IT UP THE BEST=ONE WORLD, ONE PEOPLE.
What religion do you practice?
I was born clean, blood-stained,without any possessions, naked and utterly helpless. Later, I was initiated into the religion called Hinduism. I was taught that one can never "leave" nor "enter" Hinduism. It is a way of life. A belief system. Then, I was drawn to religions that weren't really religions. I dabbled in Paganism, not Wicca, Luciferianism and Taoism. Later, I stumbled upon rather strange systems of beliefs. I found philosophy. Philosophy has, by far, been the greatest teacher to me. I adore Ayn Rand'd Philosophy. I am a blend of these systems of Faith.
What makes you believe in that religion?
Catastrophes in my life brought me to the pits of Hell. So in my darkest moments I turned to Lord reigning the dark. When in Rome, do what Romans do is what They say.
What's your opinion on Religion?
God is a thought that makes crooked all that is straight, Nietzche once said. I agree with this. I grew up with the mindset that Religions were not meant for everyone. We live in an Illusion. Our eyes are located facing the front as opposed to the ones in animals, where they are facing the sides. Our vision is capable of blocking sights so that we fam get a good picture of whatever is it that we want to see. Place a finger in front of your eyes and look afar, your finger will appear transparent. This is Life. Our Perceptions of the world we live in shape who we are. God is Faith. Whoever that is to you.
How do you feel about the other religions?
Some have radical beliefs. I don't care for opinions on other Religions. It is what it is.
What religion do you practice?
I guess you could call me a Wiccan, but I come from an old Family of witches.I mean AD1420 Kind of witches. So I do believe in a single god if you will, but I also believe in entities.I`m sort of a Polymonious practicioner. That`s the only word that fits,I think
What makes you believe in that religion?
I`ve tried Christianity,Satanism,Hinduism,Buddhism and the list goes on.But I can`t say that I believe in a System, which is exactly what the above are.I believe in one universal entity or rather system(God) and in energy beings(what People call Angels and Demons),because I see that everything is interconnected and has a System. If one calls this System ``God`` then so be it.
What's your opinion on Religion?
To me a Person can worship flying saucers, but if they are non-fanatical,intelligent and non judgemental I`m fine with them
How do you feel about the other religions?
See above answer
This one is a tough question, because the reader has to answer, without making any comments in others religions, which can offend others readers. For me if a religion burn babies: Not a good Religion. If a religion required you to give part of your income: Not a good religion. If a religion treat women like a zero to the left of a number: Not a good religion. And finally: if a religion require you, the worshiper, to hate or to down grade, another human being, then, you are in the wrong religion. I was baptized into the catholic Church. Today, I am an observer of others religions. Make me sad to see so many humans, not enjoying life, because they are putting to much attention to the after life. Remember, the good after life, depend in the good deeds that you left behind.

I grew up Christian with very strong Roman Catholic influences from my father's family. I was pretty devout in my beliefs, so much that I was aiming to be baptized. That never happened, however, and around eleven I started looking at other belief structures. I became a practicing Wiccan and stuck with that for about eleven years before I figured out that I just didn't fully believe in anything I was doing. I was, more or less, just going trough the motions. After that I just stopped really believing in anything. But, I suppose I never was meant to be an atheist, as I can't fully not believe in some higher power. I spent a lot of time questioning things, though. And a lot time trying to figure things out. In the end I decided that it was better to simply be agnostic and believe what I want to believe as opposed to becoming a part of some religion that I may not fully agree with. It works for me and it helps me better myself, yet allows me the freedom to look into all religions.
Religion fascinates me, so I love to learn about different belief structures. I have delved pretty deep into Christianity, Catholicism, Buddhism, Theistic Satanism, and Judaism, as well as a number of pagan beliefs. I am fairly open minded when it comes to religion, and I love discussing things with people. I am open to attending services in order to learn more, which I have done numerous times.
Recently, the past two or so years, I have really tried to get back into some kind of religion. I used to attend services at a local Baptist church, attended Mass at a few Catholic churches, and visited a few of the Buddhist temples around where I live. With the way things have gone in my personal life regarding family these last couple of years, I have been looking more and more into something that will offer me a sort of relief. Religion, believing in something greater than yourself, does offer that, I just haven't yet found the path that speaks most to me. So, it's a continuous search. For now, like I said, I simply believe in something more than what I can see and what I know, what the something is, exactly, I could not tell you. But, I do have faith, and really, faith is all that matters. You don't need to tie a name to it.
Never been baptized.
My religion is what surrounds me, the earth, the water, the vibrations I feel.
I do not care what religion another practices.
Born into a household of all Southern Baptist beliefs ,as the years went on I realized lots of untruth with this religion and turned to Wiccan beliefs for they made more sense to me and what I was feeling spiritually.
As for the multitudes of religions that exist each mind and spirit will form there own opinion on what is best for them so be it .
Just don't try to convert someone into your religion that is wrong and we must respect everyone's choice of their own.
What religion do you practice? Wicca
What makes you believe in that religion? It just has always felt right to be. I come across it while studying religions. No other religion has made sense to me but this one.
What's your opinion on Religion? To Each There Own
How do you feel about the other religions? How ever other people wish to believe let them, I feel there is no right or wrong Religion.
I don't believe in Belief. Belief systems of any kind distract us from our own personal journeys of exploration, investigation and discovery of all that surrounds us... and all that lays yet waiting to be discovered within us.
Belief systems force us to hand over to our chosen religion or "path" our spiritual and intellectual autonomy to a set of belief-driven "answers" to the very questions we have both the responsibility and the privilege to discover for ourselves. And in exchange for handing all such over to whatever oligarchy controls the chosen religion, we are issued (not unlike military recruits in Boot Camp) a pre-conceived and pre-packaged set of new leaders, rules, regulations and conformative expectations to which we are obliged to submit and obey to greater or lesser extents along with learning whatever reading materials are needed to instruct and reinforce inthe neophyte all such as well as how to uniformly perform the very rituals and rites and protocols and procedures used to indoctrinate the followers so as to create in them the group-think so necessary to controlling them.
This is not how one seeks and finds Truth. Instead, this is how one gives up that most important of all searches before it's even gotten started.
I am an eclectic pagan: I believe all the gods and goddesses and afterlife realms from all religions exist but choose not to worship. The only force I put above me is Karma, I firmly believe that whatever I do will come back at me 3 folds at some point in some way, it's how the universe keeps balance. I believe there is good and bad and all religions and learn from everyone but for the most part my beliefs and practices are similar to Wicca and I practice sorcery.
People believe what they believe based on the experiences they've had in life, how they are brought up, what makes sense to them, and whatever entity or lack there of they trust to help guide them through life.
I don't have a problem with other religions as long as they don't try their hardest to force it on others, such as making laws to conform to their religion, or get violent in any way others who have different beliefs and it's not a violent, harmful religion to begin with.
People have the right to believe and practice whatever they want as long as it doesn't negatively effect others or prevent them from practicing their beliefs.
my religion is illegal cuz i'm not a native... what we fight is that natives can be turned into catholics or any other religion but no one without a bloodline or whatever with natives can be officially turned, wich is good somehow...
I guess I'm pagan I believe in god and I follow a goddess. I do not follow the christain bible its been touched by mortal mans hands so y trust it.
what appeals to me about the church of the sub genius?
it guarantees salvation, or triple your money back.
it also invites "converts" to, pull the wool over their own eyes.
i am also into Discordianism.
it appeals to me because it has an awesome ( simple) mythology, and one tenet that states.. A discordian is prohibited from beliving anything they read.
In a way discordianism is a zen-ish ism.
I am a pagan
What made me believe in it was my mother she was a pagan and taught me most of what I know today don't get me wrong I had the choice but I chose to still follow.
I have no problem with other religion I think that as long as you have faith it doesn't matter what path you follow. However I do have a problem with people who try to shove their religion down my throat or are born again and not have al the facts and have a go at me because of my religion.
well im ateist. I don't belive in any god. Most of religions are fake. People always need a god to bag for wishes come true, and devil to blame for own sins.
I do not practice a specific religion.
I am not baptized, nor will I be.
I have read a lot on Buddhism , Zen, the Tao.
To know is to act. I don't have to light a candle
I'm a Deistic Pagan/Satanist
I was a former evangelical xtian
Religion is a matter of personal choice
As long as you don't try to force others into your beliefs system I've no problem with you.
I'm a Christian Witch in that I take from both my Christian upbringing as well as my belief structure from my ancestors
I actually believe that all organized religions are intertwined with one another. They have roughly the same creation story, behavior guidelines, etc... Sometimes I think that they are all different ways of believing in the same god
I have a lot of friends of all different religions, belief structures, or lack thereof. I don't care what someone does or doesn't believe in since that is but a very small part of who that person is. I would rather base how I feel about that person by how they treat those around them: people, animals, and nature.
Im also a christian witch i dabble in healing and protection,
What religion do you practice?
I practice a religion of my own beliefs
What makes you believe in that religion?
It comes from inside me and I just know what I need to know. It is instinctual.
What's your opinion on Religion?
My opinion is that Religion is a multi sided coin. It is what ever one feels that it should be not what is pushed upon you. Ones religion and spirituality is a very personal thing and no two people will have the same beliefs 100%.
How do you feel about the other religions?
To each their own. I have many friends with wide ranging religions and beliefs. Every one has the right to their own however no one has the right to push others to their beliefs and change their true spiritual nature.
What religion do you practice?
i practice Christian /witch believes. I do not just stick with one religion , I believe in healing a soul and protecting them
What makes you believe in that religion?
Many times before i have spent hours learning it i was once in a coven, but then became solitaire i took for what i learn and kept in my heart, also believing in god helps as i go along
What's your opinion on Religion?
I think everyone should study each religion before making a choose. weather you had a firs religion or not.
How do you feel about the other religions?
I am opened i do not judge other's though i may disagree on some of them i still open to what they choose who they are. I am proud believer of a person has right to choose what they will,
For me i do not . Religion is something my God hates . For the thing about it for me is that to be a religion one but want others to follow such person and it is only for the benefit of that one . so no i dont seek such a thing . what i seek is the truth and that is that there can only be one God . but that others are here because we dont like that God. and that is because we are so selfish that we block out the truth . for to be a God you have to be selfless , meaning give one self up . Do not seek self honor . For if a true God one would not need to tell others you are one . One would just say I am . Now you might say this one is also hated by most and why else would that be . Well its because we our self can not be a god. as tho a lot have tried . One sumed it up you must learn to have no hate , no pride in one self , nothing but kindness and love . Only one could be this way . and still not do it for self but only for others . For one once said is easy to love thos who love you back but to love all people and all things . This takes a god.
littleflames makes a great point.Religion should be more moral and less dogmatic.Dogma, whether religious, social or political causes many problems
well i would not go as far as dogma but some do not know what they read they only want to make of it what they want it to mean . some water it down as to get more to come to church . some say if you dont do this or that then you will not get into heaven . they dont even understand what they are saying and yet maybe they do and want to miss lead people .
I was raised a Bahai. We believe all religions come from the same one God, to different parts of the world and at different times to advance civilization. Religion itself is usually a superstitious load of claptrap and ritual, with procedures based on prejudice and bias, on top of misunderstandings of spiritual principles. I try to look at the core value of each religion to catch the glimmer of truth in it. I have studied nearly all religions and find that most religions have some value. I prefer to think of myself as a mystic, but that is not quite so, as a mystic believes that one can learn independantly from the Manifestations of God, which I believe is false. I am currently very interested I
in Cchinnamasta, the eastern godess of self sacrifice (the self decapitating goddess) .
i came to vr with firends but now i say to be a littlelight like the neme says littleflames . sometimes i have rubed people the worong way . but i do have a lot of other friends and make new ones all the time . religion is a big lie made up and like i said the one True God can not have a part in it . For he has talked about it and He said I am the way . But no one would believe HIm . So he had nothing left but to die . I dont have such a hard time in believing that God died for my sins . But he did so and put a end to all death . That is why he is hated most of all by most of all man kind. That and as humans we dont want the truth we want what we want and when we want it . To know the truth , it would set you free . but to live in the lie is so much more fun . i died long time ago . You see most of us want to believe in a god but we dont want that god in control of our lives we think and can only believe that we are in control . So believe in the lie keep living the way we want to . but there are powers out there more then we can take on am talking extraterrestrial not life as we know it tho . for God is one who ever heard or could take in that God is not of earth Himself . But that makes more clear . For if He were from here that would mean He made Himself . But we only know from HIs word that he was long before this world . So there for is not from here . Also means the angels are not from here . But some were outcast . Because they believed in something , that only goes to show that God can not have thos who dont believe in Him around Him . That is what he said in his own words . For the three are one and yet we only have to believe in the Son why do you think this is . Well once you believe in the son you have get the spirt and once that the bridge is gaped to the father . And this is the origin of sin that very first disobedience . For if they had believed Him that they would die they truly would not but because they could not believe Him they sinned . So its more then just the act of the sin that sent them apart but the believe of choosing not to believe in God . And when someone came along who did believeHe knew that same thing would happen so he knew the only answer would be to die but unlike us who die to self he died for the ones He cared and loved for . And now the act of us dieing and being born again , is for ourself not for Him . We need to cast out all bad so that we can live side by side with God has kids .
I debated a bit before posting here as I do not practice a religion but a spiritual path that is different from most. I practice the belief in my culture of native/apache/cree.... I do sweats a lot and in those the experience of what happens is always amazing to me. It is always a rebirth for me in cleansing away negativity. I have had some experiences as well in visions I have been blessed to experience while doing a sweat. I would suggest that everyone try one just once. If you have a Native Community near you contact the Clan and ask about the sweat lodges. The one I partake in we have and welcome all races. It is a process and the Elder who is hosting it will tell you what you need to do days before. Eat light. Drink a lot of water. Also you would want to wear light clothing, normally something like a bathing suit. The experience you will have will astonish you a promise.
I have had some vision experiences that have taken me out of my body to another plan. before this happen to me I was very skeptical when I would hear of others this would happen too during a sweat. I can not encourage you all enough just to try it one time.
it sounds very good . i have always thought how unfair that the true Americans the Indians were treated and how they live is so good for mind body and soul . they like myself live their faith . and i wish i had dreams like when i was young . even tho they were a bit weird i always felt they had some kind of meaning to them . now i guess most of the reason i dont dream as much is becasue i dont get enough sleep and i guess a lot of it has to do with religion . for you see i have a big problem with thos that say they are always right for no man is . and yet we all think we are . well not all do but most . then there are thos who follow what others do and keep doing it over and over again no matter how wrong it is . they are what you might call the followers of religion not of God. And the ones that bug me the most are thos that push God , for even tho i say to some that i am a christian i dont follow most of the ways others do . for one i do read my bible almost every day and some things in there are a bit confusing to me but that is when i pray over an answer and most of the time it comes to me. But thos that try to make something of HIs word that they see there , that just is way off of what the writer is saying , and they teach it to there church . well i dont have to say a word about thos , for they judge themself . Now as for some to say what is and what is not a sin . well it is a personal thing but also down deep inside everyone knows the truth unless they are blinded by darkness . To thos who have eyes let them see and ears let them hear for to be open to some is good thing, but to be closed all the time is not good . seek and you will find the answer that makes you who you are . know that all people do not have the same ideas and be always open to what is or what is not right or wrong .

well the main thing about religion and why i say God has no part in it . Is that gods are made up by man , the ideas . if you believe , per say like the sun god its a good one . God made the sun so that man could see what power he had . but when people think of it as a god it makes Him said . God did not make things to take our faith away from Him but to make it stronger . But sinners as we are make all things into gods . When he said man shall not live by bread alone . He was talking some what about this . what we feed into our minds will come back out and we act on it . So we have to let God take thos thoughts away . This is also part of being born again . For the old ways lead to death . Only if you have the mind of a child can you see things as they are . When we take in to much knowleadge of this world then we also take on the ideas of the world and we are not from this world we were put here to learn this the hard way . We come from God but we do not except this so we make HIs words mean what we want them to instead of what they are the truth . Dark and light will not always fight one day it will all end and we will see who wins . Am sorry that this upsets some but its truth . that if you take away the dark you have light . but if you take away the light you can not move . you can not see. and you will die . but if you take on the light try and fight it but still except it . that is what we do . life is to short to not do somehting but most doe this to they are followers of this world , and all of its ideas . its not easy to follow God . its the hardest thing you could do . think of it the darkness will not fight you if you have darkness inside of you . but if you have even a little light . then the darkness wants nothing more then to kill or lie or make you feel pain . so if you are not fighting and you feel nothing yes you might just be on the side of darkness .
I am a Atheist I do not believe in any gods and do not believe in a here after.
Not everyone who believes in God is a dualist. Some of us believe there is no such thing as darkness. Darkness is an illusion, it is only by the absence of light which it can be defined. It is not a thing, in and of itself, which can overcome light, ever. Light and dark make a very good allusion, in reference to good and evil. A goodly person can never be affected by evil, as the actions of another can have no spiritual effect on them. The very act of forgiveness, and even confession, removes all taint of evil from lasting effect, so we know it to be an illusion.
Christian :) I always believed in it and can't see myself living without it - I just feel like there is a God
I also believe in the elements and that God gave special ones natural powers in these- after all he is God and he made Earth Air Water Fire and Spirit (holy spirit :) )- so he has power to these and can give these powers to his servants
I also believe that the greek goddess Artemis is an angel- or a spirit God made to make the woman race strong- I believe I am her daughter simply because our personalities match we are exactly the same- and I feel so close to animals, nature and the moon and the night :)
What religion do you practice?
I was raised Catholic but I chose to be Agnostic.
What makes you believe in that religion?
This way I feel free and have no regrets.
What's your opinion on Religion?
Everyone is free to believe and practice what they want and should leave others the freedom to do so.
How do you feel about the other religions?
I dislike no religion only those that are extremists and don't let others be free and use their religion to control and an excuse to be evil.
This goes back to before man there were dinesors my spelling is bad and i know it . but people believe that the dinesors were killed by a medorite . i think it was God tarforming the earth getting it ready for man. when i die i will know the reason why he made them . or could be just a guess but they it could have something to do with what the earth needed so man could live on it they had to be here first . but as far as the time when they were here and how we mesure time i dont think we are right . for how do we do something that we never wrere a part of . the math does not add up to me . then again i only went to geomitry . we all believe in something so to make it some what easy for me and for thos who do read the bible . it was not or was put in becasue it had very little to do with what Gods big plain for all man kind is all about . Just like the devil what part did he have very little but its man who gives him a bigger part . we give him more power then he realy ever has . The devil only has his lies and his cheets . all the rest of us have the truth , honor , and light.
Of course, i know there are religions, but when you truly understand, and find GOD,like myself, religions, dont exist to me.they argue with each other that this is the right way, when truly they all miss the point that GOD IS LOVE.and theres only ONE GOD.all one has to do is look within him or herself to find him,you are the TEMPLE OF GOD,its not a building YOU ARE HIS CHURCH.his children, why is that so hard to understand,if all people would understand this such simple concept,or find it deep within thereselves, what a world this would be,but until they do,we will have nothing but turmoil,Only GOD can judge you in the end,no one else can, religions use the bible for hate, they say this and that which is wrong and right, when were all sinners.Who are you to judge anyone,it is not your right, thats a sin in itself,LET HE WHO IS WITHOUT SIN CAST THE FIRST STONE.Peace Elviscat.
We are at the precipice where either religion is the institution that defines society's moral code, or corporate public relations.
Would you have redemption against a fairy man who sits in the sky and disposes miracles and punishment in a dogmatically arbitrary fashion, or a lawyer who sells their soul to the highest bidder define social good and bad?
Religion, good or bad, used to be an institution of morality and now it's a NGO 501c3 organization arm of the government.
Sad. But true.
i will agree on one thing all think they know what the best one is and you cant say that . that would be a form of judgment . its like me telling you forget the dark and move into the light . by the way does anyone know the true meaning of move into the light , i always thought it ment to passon or go to the other side . but i just dont think that is right meaning . might just google it latter .
YTM... very impressive: hard-hitting, on point and extremely thought provoking. Well stated.
If religion is to succeed in the future, except of course amongst the most ignorant and gullible, it will need to acknowledge the growing realization amongst more and more of us that knowledge and reason trump superstition and fear. It will require a reinvention of the foundational precepts upon which religion depends or else it will ultimately be abandoned as the obsolete and antiquated vehicle it is by which its clergy were once able to demand submission and homage from their blindly believing and obedient subjects.
Only if Religion can retain the universal virtues and values at the core of almost all of them while stripping away the wildly diverse trappings and coverings found in each of them of fanciful stories, claimed miracles and endless rites and rituals perpetuating all these that have for so long overshadowed and undermined those essential core values can religion ever hope to find a place in the post-modern Age among those of us who value discovered Truth over un-explainable faith.
Slowly we as a species are coming to realize more and more that Truth and Reality are not pre-packaged products we can simply "buy" off the shelf from which ever "salesperson" does a better job hawking them to us, which is exactly what Religion does. Instead, Truth and Reality are journeys of discovery that are never easy but are difficult and arduous at times yet are requisite to all who seek such over conformity and group-think. We cannot abrogate our rights and responsibilities to someone else to study for us and choose for us and decide what is the Truth for us... without someday realizing we have been led astray and have not achieve our potentials in this Life due to deception and self-delusion.
As correctly stated by Yeshua (Jesus): "Strait is the way and narrow the gate that leads to Life Eternal, and FEW THERE BE THAT FIND IT."
Truth must be constantly and continually sought out and found... and then used to seek out and find more of it. This is also exactly how science operates, as well. There is no such thing as a book of "Holy Science" that contains within the answers to any and all possible questions... but, instead, scientists are constantly seeking... finding... testing and trying... and then, if the new theory passes all such tests, it is used upon which to stand to seek out, test and try new theories that will explain the deeper questions that were only able to be discerned by first understanding the concepts before it.
So also is Life and all Truths in life and our potentials within... all such must be discovered individually... with help and advice when found sound from others, of course. However, the work is ours to do individually... each of us.
And until or unless Religion can find away to step down from its false claims to being omniscient, ultimately it will find itself alone and abandoned by all but, again, only the most intellectually lazy amongst us.
@ Upir.
I am a Crowley fan. I wouldn't say Thelemite, but I have been in influenced by Crowley more than probably any other figure, thus my belief in magick, with a ck, like Crowley's tome Magick in Theory and Practice.
And the basic idea is animal instincts and harnessing, controlling over-riding them to our greatest benefit.
Religion seems, on the surface, to be the mechanism by which we over ride our "id" or animal selves, but humanistic movements seem to be trumping this "born of sin" mentality.
The entire time I read your reply all I could thing about is the Crowley quote... "We have no reliance on virgin or pigeon or method is science our aim is religion".
I don't practice anything any more religion does not work for me at all know matter how hard or how much I try it seems to fail me.
@ WTM... yes, I understand that. I personally find Crowley not at all admirable or desirable as a teacher. I find his views, as well as those of his somewhat-disciple, LeVay, have all the meaningless and distracting ritual and dogma of other religions and at least as many foundationless claims... but without any of their redeeming values. But... hey... that's me. To each their own, of course.
The previous comment was supposed to be @ YTM... sorry for the typo!
LaVey ruined Crowley.
He ripped off nearly every piece of his work and amalgamated it into the "Satanic Bible". And very poorly too I might add.
LaVey was a con man and a damn good one at that.
I have been reading much more in depth into your profile, but before i make a statement, I want to learn a bit more.
Because at the heart of it all I, see the same beliefs, just a difference in semantics really.
But this interchange between you and I is a perfect example of how two may disagree, but yet still hold the other in extremely high esteem.
Cheers.
If there is no God then solve this one ....
Then,
How can mathematics and nature exist without a creator and HE or She can not be human becasue He or She is out side of our understanding . Its a if this or if that . That is the best we can come up with . But most will agree things did not just poof and here it is by itself . just like most magick goes dark sided and i will tell you why most will agree that you do not control it , you get hooked on it and it controls you . but same as you dont believe in gods you dont believe that there is outside forces at work . i would never play with magick not just because i dont believe in it but mostly becasue to me its bad mojo . white or dark . both are same to me . they do not belong to this world . and have powers that should not be taken lightly .
Although I feel that some of us may have fundamentalist beliefs, I do not always equate Religion with a God. One may have a religion even without that element of worship. A God, just like a President, can sometimes be a titular head. To project some sort of Discipline, Law and Order amongst the people. It is often overlooked that such acts regarding magick and such is almost always the workings of the individual and not a God.
@lordess
It is often overlooked that such acts regarding magick and such is almost always the workings of the individual and not a God.
I practice satanist, and paganism, I enjoy each there own unique ways though i do believe in god, to so really dont stick to one religion i love em all equally,
What I posted in The God or Goddess thread:
I'd like to say that if the supreme deity was female, the world's strife would have been tended to a long time ago.
(Like a mom protecting her children from harm). Why let suffering continue to go on? Some will say that we have to learn lessons from life; I say that when it comes to suffering, we have learned enough over the centuries.
The continue evil, suffering, etc makes no sense to me.
I am christian/witch i believe in mother nature and the gods and goddess that are created around the earth, However do i go to church? No but i do pray and keep faith at hand at every second.
I am a wiccan.
i feel i have been one all of my life, but i just didn't know it until i was awoken.
i love my path and i will continue to walk it.
i feel those who must constantly preach must be hiding something truly evil. those are my thoughts on Christians.
I prefer to see god as a System.A System that governs the interactions of the Universe.Again this has nothing to do with Religion,it`s just a Logical deduction based on my own experience
Former Catholic school abuse survivor
former evangelical xtian
now an eclectic deistic pagan/satanist
I believe in the old Norse gods: Odin, Freyja, Thor, Loki, etc., simply because they work best for me and I feel connected to them. I am Dutch too, which lies close to Scandinavia, so I feel as if I'm supposed to.
I think all gods/goddesses are the same entity, but given other names. I see each deity as one.
Sadly most people approach spirituality, and religion these days as if it was TV channels, and in a way religions are becoming like TV networks (creating programing aimed at invoking sensations.) People flip through the channels and tune into the highest rated shows, and networks, and still swear devotion to other channels.

What religion do you practice? Episcopalian
What makes you believe in that religion? It is what I feel in my heart of hearts.
What's your opinion on Religion? Religion has never really been the problem, it's the people warping it.
How do you feel about the other religions? Like a lot of people, I don't have a problem with religions that aren't offensive.
I am a practicing resistentialist. I am also a cosmononplussationist who believes one can actually touch susurration.
I realised a while ago that my beliefs would make me a Spiritualist or Occultist. I believe in that stuff because I was brought up to.
I'm cool with other people's religions, believe what you like, I say. I don't, of course, like when others try and convert you, and that happens to me a lot, it's really bad manners.
In general I think religion is both a good and bad idea.
Recently i had someone come into my messages and even though i was respectful to the fact her belief system was different than my own, she decided to try and nail MY viewpoint or belief set as being "wrong".
People like that really need to learn how to respect others because from what i'm seeing so far, it's the ones outside of religion that seem to be the only ones that GET IT.
Q: What religion do you practice?
A: Eclectic/Contemporary Paganism & MOGYOLOGY
Q: What makes you believe in that religion?
A: I choose to believe in the Spirit Of The Universe and Awesomeness.
Q: What's your opinion on Religion?
A: My opinion on Religion is that all were invented by humans and many were invented to promote fear and establish control over the masses. I do belive everyone needs something to believe even if it's nothing at all. For me, since science can't create something that is already in nature without using something already found in nature, then that leaves room for something spiritual.
Q: How do you feel about the other religions?
A: I feel a few are very dogmatic about their beliefs and some even take them to the extreme by murdering and oppressing all those that don't believe as they do. Any religion that promotes hatred for other non-violent religions is a hateful and fearful religion. Some religions seek some sort of enlightenment and harmony with all things and some just seek to promote living and having as much fun as one can. I respect any religion that harms none while respecting other non-violent ones.
Well first we must consider what constitues a religion?
I am guessing that would be a system of values, beliefs, and more often than not, acceptable ways of behavior.
My own is more successful than most in that I do get glimpses of what is, what can be and what will be.
I think there are many like me but none are formally signed up so I suppose I have a limited membership.
Most religions believe in prohets and dark entities, I suppose I would gain some members in both camps. However, I have little interest in memebers or money so they are likely to remain aloof.
As for those around me, they are mostly fearful of what I can see. Unfortunately I am far better at seeing tradedgy than happiness.
I often wonder why? Sometimes all I get is "OHNO" like this last week.I almost changed my kismet but it was unspecific and as such useless I ignored it. I have no intention of starting any movement to protect the planet, well, not yet.
The following article, is the Bomb of the News. Read it and then, think if the faith of these two monsters can be measure for what religion teach to their followers. Where was God when this happen?
SALINAS. Calif. —A Monterey County Judge ordered bail to be raised to half a million dollars for the two Salinas women accused of severe child abuse. Defense attorneys for Christian Deanda, 44 and Eraca Craig, 31, tried to fight the bail hike. The women showed no emotion in court as prosecutors called their case "A most extreme case of child abuse." Deanda and Craig are accused of abusing their three kids, one girl and two boys, over a long period of time at their home on Russell Road. The domestic couple pleaded not guilty to charges of child abuse, false imprisonment, and child neglect. The 8-year-old girl was allegedly kept chained to a wall, starved and beaten. The boys, ages 3 and 5, were also beaten. Police say the children were so malnourished and "looked like they had come out of a concentration camp.
"The girl spent a week in the hospital. Craig is the biological mother of the 3-year-old boy. The girl and the 5-year-old-boy are biological brother and sister, and Craig and Deanda are their legal guardians.
All three children have been placed in foster care. Deanda and Craig had planned to get married this month and
Craig’s defense attorney said the couple also had plans to move to Fresno for new employment. They are due back in court for a preliminary hearing on April 25.
What was posted here mentioned nothing about religion, or religious practices. It basically highlights two messed up abusive women who should not have children.
Markus, if there is a God or more powerful Alien, then it cannot interfere and micromanage everything. That would be tedious and pointless, the whole point is we have to manage our own affairs.
Now, if we were the only planet it maybe different but all the evidence is that we are a rather puny insignificant species who have only been around a second or two.
It might give us a nudge every now and again.
3 to be precise, New York, the Somerset levels, Haiyan. Probably a few others you missed. If you look at todays meeting in Japan, these events are opening eyes and wallets.
Good job too, they were slaps, spankings are imminent.
well thos who know me know i have none . for the one who i folow said Him showed that when he went into the church and called them tring to make a business in the church . to me that is what true religion is a business or a system or a way things people live their lives . but i dont believe that is what my God is . For He does not want anyone to believe if they dont want to , He gives you the choice to believe or not believe , however He does point out there is only one true God and only one true way to believe . all others are religion . Some today have fall far form this and there for have fallen under the signs of the times and become a religion . If anyone says to you , you have no rights or you have to do as i say or as the church says they are not reading their bible right . they are what you call translating the bible or making to what they want . witch is very easy to do . the bible tells the truth but man can try to make it a lie . By putting what they think is right . the only thing that is right is His way not ours . and you have to watch out for thos who say and God says this and God says that . For how do they know this . one thing i know true and that is God loves all and does not judge us we judge ourself . And its all up to the person how they believe not the Church for i believe we are all the true Church . and only God can tell you what is right or wrong . we fall short because we can not take in the fact that we all have fallen short of perfect . No one is but Him . I would like to say i am sorry if this offends anyone that is not what i wanted to get by . Just that we all do right and wrong things but mostly wrong i am even wrong most of the time .
I'm Anti-Religion
Why?
Well... Religion is a Belief that three or more people agree upon. Yet a Belief is an opinion and an opinion is not a fact! So religions are a cop out for people that don't want to think for themselves about anything and would rather attach themselves to a religious label instead. In doing so, they show lack of intelligence by giving up logic, common sense, and critical thought. Then in giving up logic, common sense, and critical thought, they are unable to take any responsibility for their own actions while unable to piece any information together to understand anything from an intelligent perspective.
And even Atheism is a religion, because it is based upon a set of preconceived beliefs.
So Yeah, I'm A HARDCORE ANTI-RELIGION PERSON
wow now that makes no sence at all God gives us the right to chooes He does not take it away . the one who takes it away or thinks God does not believe in Him at all . so you half right . and before He came and died for our sins we had no choice we had to die for there we could only work for ourself be our self and be full of selfish acts . I believe that we all should work hard to working at some thing that would work out for all of us not just some . and that is what religion does it says you do this but dont do that . That is why i believe God himself can not stand for religion . God does not think of Himself more then others or He would never have made us . But when He made us after His own image , the angels or some got mad or left out . For they are not given choose . only humans can choose what to do and were to go . They can only do as He commands them to. Even the demons know this . For they even have the fear of God in them . But man does not have the fear of God , so with Gods help we can have fear but with out His help we can only think about ourself and selfless things. We need to become as little children who fear the partents not in a scarey way just in a way that they give them honor . Some kids do not even have this , it only proves all the more that man does not have the fear of God .
Atheist are not a religion organization, they reject belief, and faith.
atheism is the absence of belief that any deities exist
Meaning, they still use BELIEFS that GODS don't exist even though they do not have proof that God or Gods do not. LOL
ISMs
It means they opt not to believe. They prefer empirical evidence over faith.
"Saying that atheism is a religion, is the same as saying off is a different TV channel."
I never said it was a religion, but anything with an ISM on the end is verifying that it's a belief set of some sort.
Ok I get it. I am just making a case for clarity.

Here's a little more.
well its not a religion but its not that popular . one guy here in IL said we should get ride of we trust in God off the bill. and another said prayer should be stoped in all public places well he did not think that one out church is a public place if it were private then some would be told you can not come in . all are welcome in church and we call ours a public place . so then we could not pray in church and that is just dumb .

"Education is killing my religion.
Intuition is killing my religion.
My religion is killing your religion.
My religion, your religion."--Epik High
I was raised to be Christian, and I continued to believe in that god up until about last year. But even though I really didnt like all the hate I got from other Christians and how they felt I was "Possessed" and what have you, I continued to pray to that god, and Im not even sure why.
But many of times Id think it over and I felt; God did not create people, people created God. And people needed to do so to alleviate the fear of death and dying or to where they may go when they die.
I had read a book by Kelly Cutrone and she said "Make your own religion and what fits you" I always had this idea, but I was never really sure how to put it into the works.
I dont really consider myself a religion at all. I have my views and I guess I kind of pick and choose from other religious beliefs to what I want to believe in. I do pray to Lucifer, but I do not think I am a Satanist, a Devil Worshiper, or even a Luciferian(Sp), I believe when my shell dies my soul will be reborn into a new shell and I will re live and remember who I once was in time as I have with the other past selves I currently recall, so I believe in past lives I recall two so far and then two other names of people, but Im not sure much else of them.
I live a passive aggressive life and I dont judge others. But maybe if we abolished religion then maybe people could live a happier life and be less judging on another, just a thought....
I do not practice any organized religion. I put my faith in science. Tho I am not associated with any particular religion I whole hearted believe that everyone should be free to believe whatever they want without persecution. Freedom of religion is a right I will fiercely defend.
My opinion of Religion is that it is a subset of doctrines and theologies to teach a way of life for groups of people that include it as a part of social culture. However, if one searches and questions for Truth, one will find that Religion does not sell it well.
I consider myself a Spiritualist (not beholden to any one particular religion) with a diverse ancestral and religious heritage in Puritan religions (Cotton Mather and those that prosecuted during the Salem Witch Trials), Scottish traditions and Native American belief systems.
Never staying in one place, I had the unique opportunity of attending different churches as a child and grew up reading and learning on my own. From experience, I believe in the spiritual laws of manifestation, healing, and intercession. I concluded there is not any one "right" way to experience or become an instrument of these spiritual laws. They are presented to each of us as they are accepted, with religion or without.
Religion in my opinion is another tool for control. A way to forfeit the freedom to be who you are.
Show me any system of organization and I shall show you corruption.
Atheist.
I think... people shouldn't follow their religion to the letter, because religion is extremely old and times are changing. Fanatically holding onto the scraps of a book is unhealthy, but if people are happy to do that and don't hurt anyone... eh.
