As vampires, do you feel that our issues with anger are more intense than say those of non vamps?
I know my anger issues are compounded by frustration and unrelated situations and that alone makes them more intense. It isn't always what is going on at that moment that makes me angry, but it is the present situation that triggers the angry response. And I am not sure if the frustration is a side effect of being vampire or not. But I do know that I have a horrible temper.
Not to sound like a smart ass, but it could be a legit mood disorder.
I avoid anger. Anger is poison to your mind and body.
One of my favorite sayings is:
Resentment is when you take the poison and wait for the opther person to die.
Same for anger, what ever is making you angry is stealing your chi, your energy. Realize that and find away to chanel it into a positve thought or energy. Breathing exercises work really well.
Hope this was helpful.
I'm not a Vampire, so I don't really know. But anger is one of the stereotypical images of Vampires. What you describe sounds like what would be considered "normal", but I have never actually seen your temper(thank the gods, LOL). A shrink would send you to anger management classes, which, by the way, do not work, in my opinion. How well do you manage the effects of your temper? How well do you get back in control? How long does it take for you to calm down? These are all things to consider.
I'm not in any way shape or form a shrink mind you. I have a son with anger issues. This is the kind of stuff they ask him all the time. Do you revel in your anger because you are a vampire, or do you use it as an excuse for not trying to control your temper?
Oh, that sounds like I am judging you. I am not. I'm just trying to give you some ideas about things to think about.
I don't know if this has helped you in any way, but if you'd like to message me, I can chat with you about some of the things they've told my son if you'd like and see if any of it helps you.
I have alway had a very serious and volatile issue with intense anger. Most call it a flat out rage issue. At times, I have had to go on meds for it... though luckily, I always get off the meds after about a year.
I personaly do not believe that Vampirism is related to it. I have met to many nonvamps that had an issue with it as well. I think it is more to do with the human pysche, upbringing, and chemicals in our brains.
However, If you believe that vampirism affects the chemicals in your brain, then it is quite possible that in same cases, the two could be related.
i dont claim to be a vampire, although i may be, not sure, but i have been having some serious anger issues lately as many of u know, and usually i keep my cool but i lost it momentarily
i think as having problems with not having enough life sustaining energy as many vampyres have emotions could be something that they may experience more, thus causing anger and mood changes
I am the same way. Most of my co-workers are afraid of me because of my temper. They have never seen it but the stories I tell them of, have them imagining the kind of damage I could inflict with just a word.
I don't think it has anything to do with being a vampire yourself, I think the anger is everyone's issue of not understading where we come from.
Even the highest species in the universe can be afflicted by emotions
Especially those that were made and not born this way.
I have an issue with trying to control things in my world. When I feel things spinning out of control I find myself getting angry much easier. And when I can keep them under control my anger issues are more on a level plane.
I suffer from anger issues but manifest them internally. My anger has nothing to do with my vampiric tendancies. My anger is generated by the stupidity of most of the average population. That is why I come here to escape the moronic masses
that fill and control this mortal realm
I have a habbit of holiding back my anger to a point when i am forced release it all at once but thats just me
i know a few that have anger issues but that makes a person there own
I wouldn't say I am a vampire. I do have vampiric tendicies but, wouldn't call myself that.
I have anger issues. I have always had them. It also can depend on the person who makes me angry. There are people that can make me angry and I will just blow it off and go about my business. There are other's that will release a fit of rage in me. I have been known to become violent and throw things.
I have only threw things at one person but, I am sure there would have been other's if they were within my reach. lol
I have heard people say that certain nationalties have some kind of influence on temper, as well as genetics. My father has a temper issue as well. My mother's temper wasn't near as bad as my father's and mine.
If you take " life" from someone and they are a high tempered person, do you feel the anger as you feed?
(by life I mean either blood or energy)
Can this effect the way you are for a certain amount of time?
I think being a Vampire could make the anger/rage more susceptable to being unleashed. I know that I have a very hard time controlling mine, and I know that when it does finally become unleashed, it will be very bad.
I think that Anger is Anger..and really if you allow yourself to take that route then its your choice how far you take it, or who you will 'unleash' it on.
I used to flip and 'snap' but I have since learned how to control my emotions, and I dont let that side out easy....
I guess everyone and everything is unique....lol

I hold my anger in half the time and that makes me a strong person some say.But i say it's just the way i am.But being a vampire you can take it out on other just with one bite. Now to me that sounds great cuz i bite people anyways.
Diego,
You were VERY FAR from offending me in your first post. I do understand your point of view on the issue. When you say mortals though some tend to fall into the thinking of fictional character's.
Just a little conflict of views to keep the thread rolling. ;)
Diego,
I see where you are comming from, and I van kind of relate to that.
Anger is a useless human emotion...I have no need or use for it...It doesn't enter into my mind...
I too have severe anger issues at times. I think anger comes from frustration and bitterness. It may not necessarily be a vampire trait. However, if a person is living a double life or is hiding their vampire nature from certain people, wouldn't there be more frustration and bitterness than normal. Hence, it would seem that vampires have more anger issues than non-vampires.
i think that comment "anger is a useless human emotion"
is smart.
but not true.
anger is closely linked to rage.
that many animals expeerience.
and to say that its merely set to humans is idiotic.
vampires also can experience anger.
mythologically moreso than humans.
apparently vampire emotion is that what stronger.
as they limit there emotions to a few.
the emotions they still feel. are ment to be more intense.
Anger effects all creatures the same way... Some, in a species, can be more violent than others... Being vampire doesn't make us fiercer than the humans... If anything, I find that we have more control, but that could be just me... To each his own...
I totally agree that anger is a human concept
Therefore what us vampyres feel is a much stronger and yet to be titled emotion (if Vampyres have real emoyions at all) ??
yea i think we do have a few more anger issues but we deal with them just like other people with anger problems
The best I can answer is to say that while it takes longer to get me angry, the anger is more intense than before I woke up.
Gothic Romeo
~anger issues with Vampyres~
~well.......before I became a Vampyre in the true sense of the word, i had many anger issues with myself.
things change.....
for the better?
Yes in my case most definatley.
Anger is an emotion held within our immortal souls.
As we are told We do not have emotions
how can we have anger.....perhaps ...written on our long forgotten graves....
on mortality that breeds anger.....
???
Well, I for one don't know much about vampire's anger issues, but I do know that you don't wake one up in the morning... Scary... o.O
Well, not being a Vampire, I cannot say.
However, I do know that my anger is always expressed through overtly loud rants, which, over the years, I have managed to make damned funny, so the people involved don't know that I am, in fact, ripping them a new one. I'm happy, they're happy, everyone is happy.
Failing that, I tear thier faces off and wear them as a codpiece.
Kidding.
But funny, nonetheless.
And Tae Kwon Leap teaches us that "Anger is a weapon...only to ones opponent." Boot to the head.
The way I see it is that being as dark as vampires are and the ridicule they must go through from fictional movies or people who don't take them seriously, they must at least have some-what of a short temper. I don't know exactly how easily a vampire can be angered, but I do know they can be very spiteful at times. Ones to carry grudges. Needless to say, I don't think it would a very good idea to piss one off... Just in case... -^^-
Dark Greeting's, I feel the same is it because I'm a Vampire? I know not. Thank the Gods/Godess's my roomates haven't driven a stake through me yet lol.
Dark Blessing's
KA
lol Well, I'm glad. I hope they treat you right, babygirl. The last thing I want to see is an angered vampire. They have so much against them already. Dark greetings and good luck my dear vampiric friend! -^.~-
I think at some point in this life we have all had out moments of true anger.. true rage. I learned very young to control my temper because I was the one who would ultimately have to face the concequencces, and there was no one that could protect me from that.
I would rather think things through and fly off of the handle about things, and generally try to find the good in a situation... if not, I do other things...
If I do end up mad, I tell others around me to just walk away so I can deal with it on my own...
I do not know much if I have anger management or not but I kinda mixed my feelings of love and hate since are both strong feelings and a rush of different emotions right?
Everytime I loathe someone I gave an impression of well getting along with her at the same time the feeling of cutting the beautiful smile off her face. I'm a hypocrite sorry. I was once a straightforward person but I noticed that being plastic has its rewards. I am also pragmatic.
Well its hard to get to my bad side anyway because I tend to escape reality very often. (I have my own little world to go to.) But once I notice something is up its pretty hard to control my rage.
Not boasting or anything but I can literally kill anyone who releases my wrath. Am not a PSYCHO I have been tested and I got away with it. (thanks to my schizophrenia)
Well I personally take little pink happy pills that warp me into another realm. So I notice nothing negative anymore. Isnt that grand? Doctors make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
I seriously do know of quite a lot having anger issues, its what drives them to be more solitary than normal. For fear of hurting those who are innocent and such.
I doubt that vampires have more anger issues than humans. Why because we are not that different. I can be angry if people step on my feelings but I am calm most of the time. Anger comes for many reason and in many forms, you cannot say that it is only one paticular group that is suffering from this.
Ah, NefariousWolfBitch, you make an interesting statement. Solitary. Perhaps vampires do get angered to an extent in which they must issolate themselves from others in order to not hurt someone dear or innocent. Maybe that is why they are so mysterious to us nonvampiric types.
Now then... Where to begin... I suppose that I can start by saying that I don't really have problems with anger.... I find it easier and more comforting to look on the bright side of life.... That's not to say that I don't get angry sometimes, but it's never been something that impedes myability to deal with life, other people, or situations that arise... Anger can be easily controlled, from my point of view... All it takes is a simple choice...
I may be wrong, but that's my opinion... Anger problems should not trouble vampires any more than they do humans....
Agreed. I speak on opinion as well. My information comes from subtle observation and clear thinking...
I agree ForeverYoursLost, but with some vampires anger is a big issue. I know with me it is. But there are vampires that are calm, and I know a couple of them.
Yes. There are vampires who follow certain ethics; The Black Veil. Most are actually very respectful and intellegant. Even though they may be deeply angered, they rarly lose their temper, but I believe they may still take precaution.
I don't follow anything, but I isolate myself away from the things that anger me so I don't lose it

I agree with Scybermonk... "Boot to the head."
All animals experience anger, and in nature it is usually used as a trigger to the "fight" side of the "fight or flight" response.
You, as a person (or, whatever you've deemed yourself) could probably stand within 20 feet of a wild bear and the bear in most cases would either ignore you or walk away.
Chuck a rock at the bear and hit him with it, I think you're going to make him angry.
He'll fight, you better flight.
Just a metaphor to explain anger in simple terms.
Now we're animals - more developed and more rational - but animals just the same. Anger to us, too, is a trigger emotion. But being the social animals we are how we respond to our anger is the big issue.
Do we control our anger and not give into out instincts or do we always "fight?"
There has to be a balance - someone took your parking spot; fight or take a deep breath and let it go?
Someone puts your life in grave danger - fight or let it go?
Some people are simply better at making that judgment call and not simply giving into their emotions. We're all different and our emotions effect all of us differently...
So true, birra, so true. We do all have different lengths of temper and certain things that make us angrier than others. Some of us are able to cope, but others not so well...
Thank you VampireFreakshow. I've been doing it for a couple years now, and it helps. Only way I know how to deal with my anger lol. I know no other vampires near me, so that kinda screws me over
Oh, that is alright, MisfitChick423. I'm sure you will find lots of friends like you here on this website who understand what you are going through. And if you get angry, you can always talk out your problems with a dear friend on here. Perhaps even someone who is a vampire like you to better give you advise. I may not be a vampire, but I'll let you know you can always add me to your friends list and come talk to me if you like. -^_^-
Thank you VampireFreakshow. You can add me as a friend as well. I have found peole on here like me and I';m friends with them. What can I say, I'm attracted to those like me. And I will keep that in mind

So have a drink, smoke a j, pop some v's... and chill.....
Anger management at it's best.
For those who do have anger issues, I suggest finding an outlet for it. Go do something that makes you feel good and whatnot. Don't let it fester, it will only get worse that way.
I don't drink, don't smoke, and don't pop pills lol.
It's too late, I've let it fester for a little over 12 years lol. I just listen to music, stay in my room, and I'm just fine

Hmmm.. you sound like you need a serious release...
...hmmm... what can we suggest?
Base jumping?
Sky diving?
Tasering yourself?
There has to be something that can help....
I probably do need a serious release. I have yet to find something to help me release everything
It is very possible. I have horrible anger issues, have been trying to learn to control my rage for a long time. Perhaps this is why my anger seem more than it should be sometimes.
as said before anger is a human emotion but being around humans can make me angry because i feed off of emotions and absorb what people feal
As said to some extent by others above, vampire or not, if you have unsettled issues within you that tend you make you already feel angry, and then something else comes along that would normally piss you off, well, anyone can be a powder keg that way.
well i do have problems with my anger. I am a psi-vampire and i think its really messing with me as before i didnt have really bad fits but its really getting worst now. whut causes me to have these fits when im trying to tell the person something and they dont wanna listen to me (like today at work on saturday night) i get very stressed out and pissed off about it or unless i start end up crying (dont ask me why i cry but i do). so i cant handle people that dont listen or say stupid stuff to me.

Misfit.. closing yourself off is no way to deal with it.. really..
...you need to find that one thing that will really allow you to release all that emotion in a positive way...
...ever peruse adamandeve.com?
it could be a disorder yes
however absorbing other peoples energy
their good and bad
could be doing it also
this coming from a psi vamp of course
so not all may agree with me
however it is my opinion and isnt that what forums are for :)
birra- adamandeve.com that's funny! Ooops, should I be admitting to knowing what that is??? ;-}
Darkpyroqueen- crying is not an usual response to anger, for some people, that's the only time they cry. But I have to say that blowing people off is an aquired talent. I have learned to do so. Sometimes it's hard to ignore the idiots and the things they do. And life was a lot harder for me when I took everything to heart, but once you learn to blow people off, even laugh at times at the stupid things they say to hurt you or anger you, life gets a lot easier.
Agreed. Sometimes you just have to know when to walk away and deal with the fact that not everyone in the world is kind. Not everyone will be on your same level and agree with you. And some people are just those type who love to prey on misery. All you have to do is relax and get away. Do something fun or that keeps you busy to take your mind off of the conflict.
i think we have the right to be angry.....we can never do certain things again:(
Yes, we do have the right to be angry, but what happens when you can not control that rage?... I think you know...
Sure, sometimes we have to experience anger in order to get passed things in life. But, there's no sense in dwelling on it. The only thing that does is ruin your life and keep you from ever experiencing anything good. You can get mad but you've got to get over it.
birra - I have never been there lol. I know lsolation is bad, but so far it's the only way I can cope. Until I find some thing better, I'm kinda stuck
It is our hidden power our birthrite to be more human then humans. Anger is power and power is everything in history.
Yes, conflict has caused there to be much in our history... But some just can't let it go. No, it is not that simple. We still carry grudges and I believe vampires do too. Whether their's is stronger or not, I do not know. I'd rather not follow the steriotype...

Lots of things are better...
...just about anything is better.
Really.
anger is an emotion best not pent up but released is small amounts .we must all embrace all our emotions .and learn .
I've tried that. Didn't work for me, or those around me....what a contradiction lol

i think that it might have something to do with the way a vampires blood boils and needs be released some way ... i know it goes the same for me so i'm following you on the subject ... at least i think being a vamp has a little bit to do with it ... when i get angry it makes me want to kill even moe so i dont know it just has a better realease like feeding ... i dunno how much sense that made cause i jumped around but yeah
I have issues with my anger at times but being a combo vampire makes it even harder to control at times so I have learned to hold my anger deep within me until at a later point in time I can release it.
I definitely have displaced anger issues. I went to one of those "anger management" courses before...was forced to actually ...which pissed me off even more...so what I choked my boss, he had it coming....now I just hold it in and end up taking it out on myself...drip
Counsiling may work sometimes, but to release anger in 'little' amounts and not toward living beings, would be better...
I think our anger issues are more intense. I remember it was worse when I was new to the awakening, and I would have uncontrollable fits of anger.
A few weeks in a freind of mine said something I didn't like and I broke both of her wrists.
Mmm. You shouldn't take your anger out on living things as I have stated. Perhaps you are holding to much anger back. If one keeps that anger deep within, eventually it will explode into rage with all that build up...
"Fear that darkness within thee..." -- Freakshow
Anger is a destroyer! Individuals with anger control problems should seek to curb their anger. This can be done through meditation, exercise or seeking professional help.
I can assure you that those with anger issues will always have problems with their employment and personal lives
Anger is a personal demon that posesses
all of us to some degree. We all have our own ways of dealing with it. I feel that an individual has to find a way to channel the negativity, to release it. I do this through my music. Music is a very emotional and powerful thing. I feel you need to find something that works for you, and learn to control it thusly. I am aware this can be hard enough, especially when dealing with your rage. I myself had a BIG problem with anger for years, and it took a lot of VERY hard work on a personal level to overcome it, and gain control. You can do it, just don't give in to it. But, you have to do what I call,"your homework." You can't rely on the theory that in time it will go away. Medication and therapy can certainly help, but, you have to do your "homework." I wish I could do more to help, I know how desperate this can make a person.
Hang in there, gal.
Its not so much how to control your anger as much as it is how to hide the bodies when you're not angry anymore.
I just hold everything down. Been working for me for the past 12 years. I can't really release any of it now because my mom doesn't want me to, and I respect her. Most of it would be taken out on some specific people lol
I think it is a individual aspect rather than a specic thing tied to vampirism.. I am calm most of the time.. but then I meditate alot..
~Shadowdancer~
I believe it is possible. My anger problems are much higher and more escalated then most people I know. But then, I have other mental disorders that also feed into it, so I can't say for sure.
I believe anger is caused not by vampirism but by the stupidity of the surrounding populace at any given moment
Frustration is a side effect of being human. So is the anger that arises from it.
i wouldnt say i was anrgy im very placid,i can lose it now and then but most ppl can,i try to avoid arguments at all costs
i dont really see myself as an angry person - very controlled i think. okay, i do lose it occasionally, and i tend to curse a lot - but it all passes so quickly. i'm not so much angry as irritible.
It takes a lot to get me to lose my temper. I have a tendancy to stuff things down inside if I can't find a solution for them. And then after a time of holding it all in, the stupidest things will set me off.
I always get real quiet before I lose it.
I have found through my own reasearch that vampires have much higher mood levels.... we have higher extremes.... we get both sides of the coin, not just the good but the bad as well...
I am a pisces so I take everything to extremes as it is but compund that with the lack of phychic "feeding" (which I consider to be basic mind stimulation as well as the literal psy feeding) I do find myself more quick to anger and more easily frustrated.
You may not have heard about them MD, but they do exsist. The vampires choose not to show it to the outside world because when let loose, the anger is really bad
Good subject but getting a bit too long to read
