I apologize if this has been done before...I am almost positive it has, but a search revealed nothing, so please dont eat my face if this has been done before.

I hear many people who state that they are vampires, and in my travels, I have met many who claimed the same thing.

I ask one simple question....who can offer proof, solid concrete quantifiable evidence of a nature of being beyond that of someone with a blood fetish?

Pleeeease understand that I am NOT casting aspersions on anyone here, nor am I denying anything anyone has said. I am merely a seeking knowledge with which to bolster my own, and as this is a community dedicated to the expansion of knowledge, I at least hope this will be taken as exactly what itis, a genuine request for information.

hmm.. well back in ancint times there was no way to get around the world no boats that could sail far enough to reach another country or anything like that, but the same stories (or close to it) were being passed down from generation to generation in different cultures. thats one thing and the other is there is vampyreism and people who follow it give them selves the title vampires.

i am in no way going aginst anyones belifes or followings, jusi ranting my rant.

I think it is sily for anyone to think that the Literal story Vampire would exist. Those who do need to be heavaly medicated lol.

There are however those with deseases and such that make them unable to go in the sun as well as those who need an extra source of energy such as blood or psycic energy.

AS far as proving eather one of these I think thats not really possible. I do know that on occasion I get uncontrolable blood cravings.

it's very easy 4 someone to tell that he is a vamp, but difficult to prove it, witout any trick, i thereby state, that the best way to know one is to date one.

proof is within the person themselves.... The "definition" of a vampire has been all but lost by hollywood... You ask for proof, and now I ask you, Prove to me you are who you say you are. Prove to me that the sun is a star and the Earth is a planet. Prove that fire burns and ice freezes... Prove to me that the colors exist.... go ahead prove it without a shadow of a doubt. And just remember that the world has proven facts wrong before

I agree with Fryrestrike, Hollywood has clouded everyones preception of what a vampire really is. And I doubt seriously if we ever had scientific proof because there is no money to be made from the knowledge by physicians or pharmaceutical companies.

Wow, yeah, I did this awhile back. You did it a lot nicer, though. ;)

Basically what it comes down to is, there is no proof. You can't take a sang to the doctor and give the doc a coronary because "Oh my God! Vampires are REAL!"

The only difference is a difference in how energy is handled within the body. The only thing I can think of to 'prove' even that is to put 'em against that energy sensor thing you see on the Learning Channel sometimes.

Agreed Arunima, it reminds me of all the "gold" standard tests that are done to prove or disprove Acupuncture. At best you end up with mediocre testing and results or the entire bit falls to pieces.

So until we have better ways of measuring and monitoring the energies in a person's body, no one will be able to prove anything beyond their own perceptions which can be placed in fact or belief.

Honestly, Id say your asking the wrong questions. Instead of asking "Who can prove to me that they are or that Vampires exist?" Why dont you ask somthing a bit more specific that will prove to you that Vampires exist.

On the flip side, I ask you this. Do you believe is God/Gods? Magick? Other Kin? A Soul? A Spirit? The reason I ask this is because if you believe in these things, dont you believe in them because in truth it makes you happy to believe in them? Or can you offer ME proof that these things exist?

One of the programmes I've seen on Indigo children, used receptors to measure electrical activity in various areas of the brain and matched them against 'standard' patterns.

With enough of a sample cross-section of the community, it could be a starting point in identifying which area relates to vampyric tendancies.

Good luck finding any evidence on this topic. No one who claims to be a vampire/vampyre can offer any kind proof of it. If there was anyone who actually could, though, they sure as hell would not. Modern 'vampirism' is entirely faith based, just like religion, witchcraft, psychic phenomena, ghosts, and cryptozoology. You either believe it or you don't.

Vashti,

What of those who have subjected themselves to the media glare?

There are a few who have agreed to perform 'tests' for the benefit of the TV audience. Have they failed in their mission, or is it still ongoing, do you think?

Fyrestrike,

What if they refuse to leave you alone?

How does one deal with media intrusion into private life?

There are precious few who try to negate the endless tide of seekers of the fiction.

And the fiction is a great thing, there is a fair bit about it on this very forum, but where is the line drawn before one has to say 'enough, this is bullshit?'

This goes further into my personal belief of everyone is entitled to live in thier own realities...and sometimes, other peoples realities are so appealing to another person, that they subscribe to that reality, and what was hogwash before....becomes as real as sunlight.

However, as stated, there has to be a line.

You cannot sit back and say that I have to prove that ice is cold, or that fire burns. These are the statements of someone who is trying to find some way to unravel any arguement against vampires. You can ask me to prove somehting left right and center, and make up any number of ways to discount said proof.

A fool can ask more questions than a wise man can answer.

The difference is that I do not go into the question requiring anyone to correct my disbelief, I go in tabula rasa, a blank slate. I ask for the knowledge to imprinted, but I do not, for a second, give the misconception of blindness; I am only one womans fool, and people telling me they are vampires....are generally going to be disbelieved, due wholly to my experience with idiots who claimed the same thing. I desire simply that someone show me that it is more than a blood fetish.

Also...pleasedonteatmyface....but the 'faith' angle....is a little out there, at least for me. "you believe it or you don't." is a totalarian, elitest standpoint, and in my experience, has been given almost solely when someone has nothing better to offer. Faith is one thing, but believing you feed off the life energies of another being is NOT faith based, it is based on something REAL, something concrete. A need is a solid basis.

The problem I posit to all my fine fellow fanged is can you prove that it is, in fact, a need? Or simply a want?

I agree.

If a person must have faith in their fitting the correct mode of thought, projecting the correct demeanor as defined by the most popular image, or blind themselves to their own truth of who and what they are and can do, then it is not true.

It simply cannot be, since it contradicts the basic premise of that persons existence and they will subsequently fail to truly awaken to whichever state was intended for them.

But then we step into ideas of predestination and free will.

The evidences I use are my own senses and thoughts on what they are telling my mind to conceive of.

As per the ice is cold and fire burns, perhaps you judge there way of thinking too quickly Cyber. To the Easten way of thinking, nothing in this world actually exists anyway. Its all a distraction from the truth made by the gods, a dream of some super-conciousness. Now, weither or not you perscribe to this theory, in a theological conversation such as this, it is a valid argument.
Perhaps a better way of phrasing that particaular challenging/question would be: "Prove to me that God exists".
Its the same arguement.

...i believe that the vampire are the same as faeries: they existed in the old days, but with the dawn of the enlightened and technological modern age they have died out or have gone into extreme hiding. or at one time in the old days there was a rift between worlds and the fae and the vamp (and other creatures like were and such) could come and go or visit, if you will. somehow, either the rift was closed or vanished altogether.

...so, the classic vampire, imho, does not exist anymore. the modern fetishist does, and other variations on the theme. either way, existing or not, their legend and persona do intrigue very much!

This is not a theological argument, as we are discussing vampires, not God. Or Gods, as the case may be. You are trying to, again, broaden the scope of the conversation to such a huge level, and then try to include vampires in it, as an allegory of deities. The two don't mesh. We aren't discussing Shapers of reality, we are discussing Vampires.

And I am very happy that some of you have indisputable proof of your supernatural nature. Thats isn't sarcasm, either. All I am asking for is someone to show ME some proof for myself. That's all.*grin* Doubting Thomas, and all that.

And for the record, I prefer to be called Monk.

I don't believe a blood fetish and a need are the same thing. I myself feel throughout my body and soul that I need the blood. I am a sanguine and have been for many, many years. I guess you could call it anything you want...vampire, crazy person or what have you. Like many posts before mine have said there is no proof postive way to say there is a real vampire or not. I truly believe that the word "vampire" fits those like me as well as others whom take/get what they need from others be it blood, entergy or what ever. By one definition a vampire is a person who preys upon others. Isn't that what I and others like me do in a since? I mean yes we practice the 'donor' thing but we are still praying on someone else.

Prey is defined as someone unwilling to surrender that which you seek. You cannot call someone both a donor, and your prey. You have donors so that you don't HAVE to pray. Also, you say you feel you have a need for it, in your body and your soul....were you the same as a child? As a youth, did you have your parents get you quantities of raw blood? I, as a person, do not believe that vampirism is a gradual thing that someone grows into. If you do something long enough that it BECOMES a need, then that is an addicition, and not something required to survive.

And, as I said, I have yet to see anyone who needed blood to live...and as for Psi vampires, well...heh. I have already stated my opinion, though, as already said, I am open minded...just not so much that my brain falls out.

It just seems to me that all anyone is saying here is....Vampires don't truly exist, we simply adopt the mantle of the historical Nosferatu as interpreted to the best of our liking....or...."Nono, we really ARE vampires, but heres a half dozen reasons, all flimsy, as to why we cannot prove it."

Now, I hate cynical dead-ends as much as the next man, so I continue to implore all those here to help me out. Again, I am not looking to debunk, I am looking to believe...but I will not believe blindly.

I think the defintion of "vampire" is too blurred for someone to come up with concrete proof. Are you looking for your old Hollywood "vampire" or someone that claims to have an immortal soul etc? I think that there is no proof for the undefined, but that doesnt necessarily make it a lie. There are many unexlainable things in life; this being one of many.

I doubt you would get your proof that obtaining blood is a necessity to live, because that is not the case, according to the little thing called, the natural laws.

I agree that real vampires has the right to protection of their privacy on equal terms as "ordinary" human beings.

I understand your curiousity, but suppose there was solid proof for you to get, then what? Yes yuo would know more, but lookng at the overall perspective, does it do any good? would vampires have the same facination? that is also something I highly doubt.

However, if some one was to go up to there doctor and say "hey, I need you to prove that I am sanguine vampire" I hope they bring a camera to photograph the doctors face, because that is a picture worth seeing.

Now, see, we run into the old problem, the thing that most RP vamps hide behind to sustain thier lie.

Though I am not saying that is the case here.

Firstly, let me say that an immortal soul...doesnt make you a vampire. A soul is, by defination, immortal.

Also, you tossed in the whole Hollywood vampire thing. I never said anything about Hollywood, but it always seems to come up.

See, the thing is, without anyone stepping up to offer proof of vampirism as anything more than interestingly named skin condition, -all- we have to go on is various forms of media describing vampires. And that media has altered thier defination from the barely sentient monsters with various weaknesses, to the highly romanticized versions we see today, with next to no weaknesses of any kind, nothing to show what vampires originally WERE......creatures who lived such terrible lives that thier sin empowered them after death.

Plus...I look around at the people here openly claiming to be vampires, and I really have to wonder at the also constantly tossed up statement of..."Well, Vampires value thier privacy."

Are you joking?

If they valued thier privacy so damn much, they wouldn't be on a community site, now would they?*grin*

Also, I've been asked for my defination of Vampire. Weeeellll...I thought I was fairly clear, but sometimes, the Monk is not as crystal as he thinks he is(which is most of the time. HAH!). I was referring to the supernatural, undead flavor. Anyone else has a blood fetish, I don't care what you want to call yourselves, yer still not a turnip(see previous post.).

As for the last statement, well that one is easy. The point, for me, is to acquire more knowledge and insight. Both are laudable goals, in and of themselves. Plus, it would help to enrich my realities a bit, and bring me one step closer to my End Goal...which, by the by, is not the topic.*grin*

Also...you mentioned natural laws. Well, as previously stated, I'm not exactly looking for something that fits inside the natural laws, now am I?*grin*

As I stated before the proof you ask for, as I'm sure you are well aware, is not attainable- unless you find it for yourself, which you have also alluded to.

I am going to warn everyone here about flaming. It will not be tolerated and is grounds for threads (even good discussions) to be closed with no further notice.

Back to the question at hand. I do not have any proof to offer, but in regards to my thread a while back "The Dance at the Rave" regarding the psy vampirism that is done here I received a lovely message from someone in the community that I think describes the Dance, and well- gives what some people consider their proof.

I for one take this to mean it all depends on the person. A strong person of spirit or energy may not be one that is targeted since part of the idea of "prey" alludes to those that are weaker.

The message I received:
"Maybe this wasn't the answer you were looking for...but
I'll say this, vampirism is a manipulation imposed by an outsider or ones own self that is perceived as a drain of some sort. Here's the thing though... if you look hard enough at anything... everything becomes a manipulation... and since every manipulation can be traced to a "end" of some sort... anything that happens to you can feel like vampirism."

You also said you saw/read all these posts about people claiming to be a vampire of myth/legent here on VR. Other then a few idiots who've have their accounts removed, I have yet to see anyone on VR claim to be an Undead, Immortal Vampire of myth/legend who's physical body never ages or dies. (I ignore Rp'rs posts)

I have seen alot of people on VR open up in their individual core belief's systems and share them with others.. only to have someone come out and say "now prove it". In not looking liking the answers, I have then read your borderline insultive responses that you cover up with a line of "dont eat my face" or "thats just my opinion". (Now please dont take this as flaming you..im just giving you my opinion now).

Your looking for what? Proof positive that an undead creature walks the earth for all eternity who burns in the sun and turns to ash?

Prove to me proof positive - that one doesnt exist.

Also, erstwhile means former.*grin!* But I used to use it in the exact same way, so hurrah for you!(NOT sarcastic.)

And they say that you catchmore flies with honey, then with vinegar...but I have found more dead flies in a little cup of malt vinegar then I ever found in honey.*grin*

What others have said rings true to me, to believe you are a vampire, the only way for someone to believe you is to show them proof.

I apologize. I, myself, am a borderline insultive(neat new word!) person, and thus, anything I say, irregardless of intent, is going to be colored thusly.

"Prove to me one doesn't exist."

That comment falls directly under what I said before.

"I am open minded, but not so much so that my brain will fall out."

By that statement, I would have to disprove absolutly everything any raving lunatic has ever said.

"Prove to me it doesn't exist." is not an argument for existence. An argument for belief, yes, faith, perhaps, but not existence.

And that's the tricky thing about faith. In order for it to BE faith...it cannot be proven. Because once something is proven, you cannot have faith in it, as you KNOW it to be true, it ceases to be an idea, a belief, and becomes a reality.

Not looking for faith, I have that enough. I have proven such by stating that I want to fully know.

Do I have faith that things beyond the established veil exist? Absolutly. Beyond the shadow of doubt, I have faith in that.

However, faith and knowledge are two entirely different beasts. Entirely.

I'm not starting a thread on a database to find more faith. I started it to find some proof, s'all.

And if there isn't any? If it is true that that particular facet of the supernatural world doesnt exist as anything more than fever dreams, nightmares, and moral stories to scare humans into being good? Then my goal is still accomplished, as my knolwedgebase has still expanded.

Most definetely "Prove to me it doesn't exist." is a valid arguement of both existance and nonexistance.

If you cannot prove to me that such a vampire does not exist, and I cannot prove to you that one does - then you are back at square one - which is the unknown.

There is more research out there in the form of books (nonfiction/biographies), links, reports, journals, even police reports, photo's etc. They suggests they may have at least existed in the past - there there is proof positive that they never existed at all.

So - scybermonk - what would YOU consider as proof positive? Rather then people replying with the same answers that you continually discount - like a person's faith, belief, as you have enough of that.

I hope to further the discussion on both sides:

From the explanation that I have heard from vampires I have concluded that they need (or want) energy from others, sometimes in the form of blood. So this is a physical need, I presume, and I’m not sure about the medical tests that could prove its existence for biology is not my strong point.

But I was also thinking what is the difference between a want and a need? The degree of desire, the result if one does not satisfy that need or want? I’m sure that some argue that love and belongingness are wants not needs, but for survival humans have developed into a social creature so our well being psychologically and physically depends heavily on others. So what seems like a want for us at a certain level may be a need for others.

Also, I do think that everyone draws energy from other people, be it conscious or not. For example, being around a depressed person makes one feel like they have been drained of their energy due to the behavior and attitude of the depressed person. Another example is during a concert, the performer can perform better, more energetically if the crowd is energetic, however, if the crowd is lethargic then the performer, sensing this by their behavior, may feel less energetic.

I do not intend to insult anyone’s beliefs, just trying to add to the discussion.

LadyVengence,

Perhaps it's not so much draw, as absorb?

Consider that when in a lift with several people, one would breath their emitted breath, feel the heat of their bodies, taste the scents, the chemicals in the air.

All of these things become a part of our system, helping us define the experiences and thus, shape our perceptions of those around us.

And on a more subtle level, the unseen energy flows between all existence, have equally resonant effects upon how we perceive the universe.

So maybe you are suggesting that vampyres draw on energy while others simply absorb a bit or sense and respond to the energy of others?

I think that, as was said above, Hollywood has determined what a vampire is, and therefore, you will not get the proof you seek. I do not believe in the "Immortal" vampire, but, I do agree with Saharia, as far as the psy vampire is concerned. But, as for burning in the sunlight, etc, notta.

i was at the strigoi fields in transilvania.. spent the nights outside and was at the graveyards not even a sign of them... i was at the roman catacombs in rome.. i waited at the lone graves far away the touristic places and nothing... i spent nights at lonely mausoleums and nothing...

Again, let me state, a bit clearer.

Hollywood vampires is NOT what I am drawing my question of proof from.

You have to realize, Hollywood did NOT invent the vampire, nor did it define it.

The written media and the spoken word did that LONG before film did it. Looooooong before. So constantly demonizing(hah!) hollywood for how the vampire is viewed is a massive fallacy, and one I hope we can steer clear of from now on.

Also, yes, everyone draws energy from everyone else. That's a simple fact of biological life, from the interchange of oxygen to the transmission of alkpha and beta waves via skin contact. As for performers and thier ilk.....on an emotional level, crowd energy levels will directly affect how they perform, this is a simple fact of psychology. Again, not what I was asking.

AllGenre, in the slightest manner possible, I must say I completely and heartily disagree with you. You cannot say that simply because I cannot prove it doesnt exist....doesn't mean it MIGHT. That falls under "A fool can ask more questions than a wise man can answer."

BUT! You request my defination of proof, and THAT is a fabulous question.

Proof would be simple. I request knowledge only of the supernatural breed of vampires. Psi vampires are a topic I choose to avoid, and I reference only the blood drinking type.

I ask for evidence of a need....which amounts to beng shown your ability to subsist only on blood. I ask evidence of ANY of the abilities historiclly granted to vampires (screw hollywood, I'm talking about texts older than everyone here. Combined. heh.), and some evidence of the classic elongated lifespan. The holy symbol thing would be nice, but is too easy to fake, though a violent physical reaction would suffice. Also, an exhibition of the regenerative powers would be a plus.

All simple things. And if someone can tell me without a doubt they can exhibit these things, I can travel to meet them. As I said, my hunt for knowledge is boundless, and I don't let things like distance impede my progress on anything.

Also? I prefer Monk. Smaller, uses less letters.*grin*

For the record, I do not expect to gain any of these things. But I have hope, and hope springs eternal.

Here is the thing. You have now changed exactly what it is that you are asking for in the middle of conversation, and thus removed a chance of serious discussion. SM you state, “I request knowledge only of the supernatural breed of vampires. Psi vampires are a topic I choose to avoid, and I reference only the blood drinking type.”

Unless someone can up with a good reason of merit why this is still a serious discussion, speak up now. Otherwise this thread will close, as it seems you wish to have a silly nonsensical discussion, which is frowned upon in the forum as per the FAQ’s.

At no point did my request change, Sah. From the get go, I requested that someone provide me with proof of the vampiric condition in a traditional sense, not, as a stated, merely a blood fetish, or an interestingly named skin condition. I apologize if a request for further information into the nature of the supernatural somehow seems silly to you, but my conversation has never once strayed into such territory.

I was asked to further define what I was requesting, per the proof idea, and I did exactly that. Now, if you want to think that my desire to see something of the supernatural vampire is silly, thats yer deal, but, again, as stated...I seek only to further my knowledge, which is exactly what a database/resource/directory(you know, the words under that big pretty Vampire Rave Logo that keeps exploding across your moniter?) is useful for. By going to the people of this site, as opposed to simply reading a possibly fallacious FAQ, I stand a MUCH better chance of finding someone with something more than "Faith!" as an argument for proof.

And personally, I take a touch of offense at your assumption that my request was at ANY point 'silly'. I came here in earnest, genuinly seeking, only to have someone of standing tell me said search is now apparently deemed to be silly.

There's more, but it's a touch offtopic, and so, does not go here! *grin*

And AllGenre, I'm not exactly sure what that has to do with anything, but I am sure as hell not asking to be sired. heh. I'm good, thanks.

And Sharp? That is so far off topic as to render me incapable of coming up with a cogent similie to describe it adequetly. As much as others may not think it so, this is a genuine attempt to further my knowledge.

I apologize for the ramble. I am a very sleepy Monk, and need the bed.

Hmm, ok, so by my understanding of this conversation you want scientific proof that one would physically need the blood of another to survive? From what I understand it is not the blood itself, but the energy encompassed and represented by the blood, so in that respect, I think it would not stand up to typical medical examination, unless like STABB666 said and the electrical patterns in the brain were measured and compared to “normal” electrical activity.

Also, I, personally, do not believe, but that does not mean it does not exist. Things that tend to exceed scientific proof are not my strong point, but just because we cannot explain it now, doesn’t mean it won’t be justified later as this has occurred throughout the history of science. These are just my opinions as I believe this discussion may not yield the answer you desire. Hope you find what you search for.

The belief in vampirism is as close to a modern religion as I've seen. That means that those who have taken upon themselves the mantle, don't require proof of their new state and don't feel the need to prove it to others either...just as buddhists don't feel the need to prove the existence of nirvanna to keep searching for it and just as christians don't need to have a personal angelic visit in order to believe in their religion.

Asking for proof becomes insulting because it implies that you don't believe in their existence or their 'religion'. One can argue for or against it and usually find less animosity because asking a believer to prove it to you is like walking up to a christian and demanding proof of god. Your creating a more personal attack on a belief.

I'd like to point out that believing in the undead vampires of legend requires no more greater faith and is therefore no more silly than believing in an all powerful being or beings that watch over us and grant our wishes or prayers.

Interestingly enough, by all accounts which I've read, from those who claim genuine propensity for both blood feasting and energy absorbtion, the unequivocal position is that self-image and the determination of who we are, the core principles of the psyche, have as great a bearing upon the state of being in which we exist at any given moment, than does the physical characteristics.

The mental processes which we pass through in order to acheive a state beyond the 'norm', are neccessary steps in defining the truth of our existence. Without them, all are nothing.

To discard the interpretations of the metaphysical links between the soul/consciousness and the perceivable 'reality', in favour of strict adherence to physical proof, though pragmatic, is still a sticking of a needle in thine own eye.

No-one here needs to prove anything to anyone but themselves, yet you demand that they colour your own perceptions for you.

Wake up and smell the water rushing by you as you stand on the bank, under your poorly constructed bridge- guarded in a shaded life of grimy self-effacing humour.

I believe that on some level, Scybermonk is looking for proof so that he too can believe. I don't think many people come to a vampire website and look for this knowledge purely to shoot it down.

The problem is that it involves faith. Because there is no standard evidence of vampirism (energy or otherwise) and as you said Stabb, because you can't seperate the metaphysical and spiritual aspects of the vampiric traits, you have to either have faith or not. Those looking to have their faith proven for them in order to learn more will be horribly disappointed.

I do not think that you will be able to find the particular proof that you seek. If such a "Vampire" exists, I do not believe that they will ever reveal themselves. I know I would not. I am also fascinated with this topic, but to me it is the curiosity that will never be satisfied. I must admit I have learned from this post, though. And I thank you for that.

Man, this discussion is so much more successful than the one I attempted. Then again, I was more of an ass, so there you go. :)

Monk, reading through this thread, I'm reminded of the time I tried to debate abortion with my brother's wife. I started talking about how the heart is formed and beating at four weeks, and she came back with a mighty "Well, how do you know when the soul is formed?"

I died a little inside.

Anyway, I agree with some of the people here who have mentioned that a 'real' vampire, defined as one who needs blood to survive, a being that would literally die, rot, and become flowers on my front lawn without it, wouldn't advertise even here. So what I've been doing is running through every damn profile here and inspecting the crap out of them.

...Heh. I'm a hunter. *grin*

But I think that's the only thing you can do. Just because you tell everyone you seek real vampires doesn't mean one will run up to you, raise their hand, and say "Me! Me! Oh, that's me to the T! My flesh postively sags when I don't suck me some blood!"

And anyone who would do that is probably full of shit.

I recognize that this is a fool's search, but I am one of those who must explore every nook and cranny of something before I'm satisfied. As far as people go, there are a LOT of nooks and crannies here.

Good luck, dude.

Arunima has a little sarcasm in her so take the 'hunter' thing with a grain of salt. She's not sharpening stakes that I'm aware of...and even if she is...she admits she's a frickin' nut (right Arunima?) so she'd would be just as likely to stake her imaginary friend or her own shadow or a care bear (those things are evil) as anything else. :P

Actually, I said the hunter thing because I'm not a vampire and I'm looking for vampires. That makes me a hunter of sorts. I'm not looking to kill them. That's insane even for me.

There are rare blood types, and everyone has them.

There is nothing different about this body, because the differences are spread evenly throughtout the earth's population.

I think what they are looking for is a "screen-cap"--from a movie--discription, but none exist. To solve this, stop talking about it like you are living your life through the pages of a book/magazine. And for Pete sake, clean that stuff off your face. Stating what those asking for proof believe is a bit of a double edged sword as Arunima pointed out. The biggest hurdle for someone like myself is that I am faithless.

That doesn't mean that I don't believe in the metaphysical, that just means that I cannot find the faith to go either direction in belief. It takes just as much blind faith to belief that something metaphysical is impossible as it does to believe it possible.

My experience thus far has been uneventful but I don't associate with those that practice metaphysics simply because a lack of faith is often something of a downer for those that have it. But I've also stopped asking for proof long ago. One has to know when the tide is turning and you've found yourself without a boat (much less a paddle).

Let me restate that:

Lets say someone wants proof that cats exist, except the picture they have of a "cat" is some thing with short legs, purple spots, and a forked tounge. How are we to give them the proof they are screaming for, if we don't know what they want as evidence?

I think that we will never be able to proove anything any more than we can proove there is a god.

I mean with things like this it is unlikey that even if there is scientific evidence that the main stream media or world will believe it.

You are talking rubbish.

Without the guidence of others who have already sprung the traps of inexperience, we would progress ever slower.

Well, I disagree;

"i dont think w should discuss this further more. GOT IT!"

After such a clearly informed statement of opinion, perhaps you think that I was wrong to question it's basis?

Well, Yingth, I for one have never said I wasn't insane. :) But I can say I didn't start out that way.

I'm still seeing people saying things like "Well, you might as well try to prove the existence of God" in regards to proving the existence of vampires. I have two things to say:

1. Whether you are talking about Sang or Psi, that argument does not apply. The existence of energy doesn't need faith for it to exist; it exists on its own. Ask any scientist. The only question is what happens when energy is transferred from one person to another. As has been mentioned before, all we need to do is put a donor and a taker in the same room and use that energy imprint machine. If the donor's energy decreases while the taker's energy increases, there you have it; psychic vampirism. You can do the same with Sang. The only problem is that to my knowledge, such an experiment has not been done before.
Write the Learning Channel, I say.

2. Regarding 'real' vampires, or better yet, fictional vampires, you could use that argument if you believe that they don't exist. But this is an oxymoron by its very nature. "I believe in God even though I know He does not exist." I could tear apart this argument from all sides, but that would be digressing.
But if you say that they might exist, even though you have never seen one, then faith wouldn't come into it, because once you find one, you can see it, touch it, eat it if you're of the cannibalistic variety. It would be real.
The only 'faith' that would come into it is faith in the possibility....just as I have 'faith' that elephants exist, even though I've never seen one myself.

Facts are black and white they leave no room for possiblities is it possible for a vampire to really exist yes I think it maybe but I doubt very much they would come out and say it they would act and seem like everyone else not try to bring adverse attention to themselves..The nature of the creature would be to hide its true nature and to lure others to doom much like a trap door spider..I know people believe they are and I am one of those I believe I am a psy-vamp have had people tell me I do things that are out of the ordinary..I dont drink blood however not my thing...

if you wouldnt listen to the bullshit you get fed from what everyone thinks they know about vampires then you would know how to find "proof" if someone is a vampire or not. simply changes in eye color from their normal color to a pitch black or a pure yellow or even a tint of red. then if thats not enough have them walk out side and have them look in the sun their eye gat fucked up asnd its not an allergic reaction its because they are what they say they are. and if you dont believe that vampires are real then dont but i am here to say that they are real and u just have to know how to look for one and where to look for one. oh and another thing is that about their powers, call it wehat you want but vampires call talk telepathicaly(or however its spelled) to another pure blood with in the same family. and im not trying to be an asshole but im just saying what i know and what i believe in. and the only way someone can become a vampire is to be born one no other way what so ever thank you and please dont take any offence to this

Forgive me if I get some terms or names wrong, this is slightly out my field. But as far as concrete ...well how about the vampire bat? It proves that DNA exist for such a creature. There is also the fact that many north american indian tribes believed in drinking the blood of the animals they killed to gain their strengths. There is also the Dracula---I know---lol, but the fictional person is based on the real man who is in the history books.there was also a queen.Anyway I guess what I'm trying to say is these people did not have cravings..They believed the blood was needed to live or to steal the essence from another...The notion of this had to come from somewhere?? Besides from what I understand if you had come across one, then you would be dead-a vamp-or a slave.Either way you would not be asking such a question...No disrespect meant to you...As far as those who say only poeple who are crazy or on medication to believe in such things...Why are you on this site???????

In my opinion, which is based on study, something was/is around that the traditional vampire spawned from. Although through hollywood, fictional stories of vampire culture, and mass hysteria theroy brought out many myths of vampires. They also shed a little light of truth. For instance, you have what has been coined "psychic vampires" Weather they know it or not, they have to feed of others energy's. Most psychic vampires will denounce any accusations of being labeled psychic vamps. Now with that being said, as for vampiric evidence, I haven't met anyone who was a vampire although I met many who claimed to be. I am a firm believer in vampire like behaviors and instincts, and that they are very real. For the concrete evidence you're looking for, good luck and happy hunting. Till next time..........

This is from a historical and factual point of few. There are documented cases from goverment officials in many countries of "humans" whowere described/had the attributes/showed all signs of the many different forms of Revenants. Now depending upon the country depended upon the vampire. Some of these countries were Mexico/Romania/Russia/Germany/France/Italy/England.Recently over in Brazil there was a case of a policeman who was attacked by a pale white woman who flew or floated and drained him so badly that he could no longer work.He was so badly shaken by the incident that he is in an instution. The kicker is part of the attack is caught on his police cars camera. You can she a womans form floating away from the scene.Yes there are wanna bes/roleplayers etc.But Revenants have been around for as long as man has written things down.Feel free to e mail me if youd like to speak more on this...Groanz and Hizzez..MamaV

That was a lot to read in one go... please excuse me if I missed something.

Are people saying that psy-vamps (and we'll call most sang's and "vamps" a variety of energy vampire ) are not Supernatural? ...or just not undead? ... is there a biological vampire that is not undead, but that spawned the myth that is inherited either through birth or through blood exchange?

It seams to me that a true definition (and credibility) is only a aquired from within the group (I know someone prolly has a fancy quote for this concept)

For example: medical doctors define what a docter is and granted themselves credibilty by forming a society; as did actors and a variety of other groups that developed credibilty and authority (priests and the church is another fine example)

Even if energy predators (psy, sexual, and sang) are not supernatural but supranatural, they can still be defined as a vampire, because this is how they define themselves, therefore it is a valid definition.

I think the definition of vampire needs to be discussed properly. (deliberately avoiding the easy Joke there ;)

Type I vampire: Modern Fictional (hollywood/Anne Rice et.al.)

Type II vampire: Mythological/Historical

Type III vampire : (Supranatural) Energy manipulater further borken down into 3 catagories
A.) Sang
B.) Sexual
C.) Pure (does not need a medium of sex or blood to manipulate energy)

Type IV vampire: Blood Drinker (physicaly needs blood)
further distinguished into two catagories
A.) Racial
B.) Created

Type V vampire: Fantasy
further classified into 2 catagories
A.) Those who can differentiate between reality and fantasy
B.) Those that can not ...

Type VI: (Supernatural) Undead or Otherwise not wholely Natural

I think that vampires, which I myself am not entirely sure if they exist, are like god; either you believe in them or you don't. You can't prove that god exists, and you probably can't prove that vampires exist. Technically, they do, because the literal definition of vampire is 'one who consumes blood,' and there are people who do just that. However, if you mean to prove that supernatural beings that are immortal and have special powers of some sort exist, that I think would be a faith thing.
