Did you know by laughing at your own mistakes in the craft is better for your peformance . When writting a ritual u should use your favorite comedy character . Make it as humorous as possible. Keep it written down. Do you agree?
Some of the greatest magick I've performed came from silly little ditties that I made up that rhymed:)
iv never tried it cause they all work either way with me. but i will thanx for the tip :)
oh god lol that would be funny. but i dont think people would sumon demons.
Could you perhaps tell us why you feel that is beneficial to such a writing so that everyone could better understand the basis of the question?
Some times when we have to heal we use laughter . The laughter thing tends to heal some and make us forget what we were angry at or our mistakes we made. So basically laughing is . If your feeling overly stressed but would like to do that special ritual any way watch something amusing or think of something amusing.
Well, when I try to help heal a friend, I have him sing with me. I noticed that helps me better than when I don't sing. I've also noticed that each of my friends has a different song that helps. :P
Interesting...i always thought rituals and chants needed to be very serious.

I dont think they have to be serious serious but as reverant as possible.
Comedy, laughing, ad libbing.....who ever said you had to behave like you are a priest/ess in a high mass, solom and reverent? Actually there exists a new form of magick which uses laughter, odd noises, and humor in ritual. They are called Chaos Magickans. We have been using it for years and it works in the Craft too.
I have to admit that most of the rituals I've been involved in or did myself had plenty of humor involved. I enjoy laughter and that part of me comes through even in ritual. Plus I never felt that "they" didn't appreciate a good laugh too. It always made the ritual more fun and meaningful to me.
Very interesting. But I have to agree I take it seriously...But who knows maybe I should try it.
I would agree that it is good to have a sense of humor about mistakes in order to learn from them. I do not think that real magick should be used lightly or for fun. This is something, if done inproperly, can lead to very bad results for the person performing the ritual.
I agree with Bandit, a sense of humour is good to have but there is a need to remember that magick can be dangerous and needs to be respected
singing helps me as well. and well as for laughter and humor ..ill keep that in mind even if mine work either way
Laughter is certainly a good way to help rid yourself of anger, or stress. Certain situations could benefit greatly from people laughing agreeably together.
Joy, Love, Happiness.. those are powerful emotions that can help direct energy... words, singing, and dancing give it physical substance.. Laughter could play a huge role in Magick, practiced and in theory.
I don't know that I would agree with keeping things as humorous as possible during ritual or magick...but certainly laughter is a more positive energy than anxiety or tension and would help direct your workings in a positive direction.
Laughter is the best medicine, even for a vampire, but i,d be careful laughing during a spellfest, never know if that could bring consequences.
I always thought that spells and chants were sacred and that to make fun would mean that you were making fun of magic it'self
Magick depends largely on your focus, and humor definitely helps you focus, doesn't it? When you hear a good joke, does it not stick in your head? Singing works very well too. If you can use humor or music in your casting, you'll likely focus on it better, thereby increasing the effectiveness of your magick.
hmmm crowley solomon gardenier alexander truly made some of the best jokes Ive ever heard truly. must be on the right lines. but then compared to old twisted wives in reality these people knew nothing.
just a beginner but method practice application result analysis then theory is truly more powerfull than any of that shit. who knows it may be just shit. hehehe :) hows the admin
i dont think anyone can judge anyone for how they practice their way of magick. so if using a joke here n there helps them it does if being focused helps someomne it works. its each to their own.
In most of my spells I am very serious. The ones I've written have some serious and some with a little humor. They both work well for me.
i did read somewhere couple years back that even the goddess and god likes humour aswell, they like to have a laugh,
when i work with spells or rituals or chosing a tool i have made mistakes and i try to laugh my self no use in relaving the past with nagativy
Laughter is such a good reliese of energy so to incorporate in into magick is very empowering.
It is good to be able to laugh and have humor... But just remember that magic should be respected.
it is great to have a sense of humor...but spells are a very serious thing and you should be carefull what you are doing...
Magick, being the manipulation of energy, needs no ritual at all to perform, but since humans seem to enjoy rituals, whatever works for each mind is up to them...Laughter is just another spin on such humanizing of what was once a very pure art...
"Magick, being the manipulation of energy, needs no ritual at all to perform." (Enigma)
Magick, a term coined using that spelling by Alesiter Crowley, is the manipulation of people. It always was and still remains so.

It keeps your wits about you, not allowing you to be succumbed by disaster.Suposedly it keeps form.
I believe the point has been made with this thread. A very basic do you agree, yes or no...plenty have answered.
