I would like to know what is everyones views towards the Bermuda Triangle. As we all know many ships, planes and people have gone missing in this area never to be seen again or re-appear many yrs latter.
Do you believe that the Bermuda Triangle is a ripple in time or is it just stories made up to make things look worse then they are?
I think its just a big bit of ocean which has a little more than its share of bad luck.
There is probably some sort of geology problem that might affect compasses or maybe a vent that releases gas to suck ships suddenly underwater and knock aircraft out of the sea.
I don't think it happens that often. Ships and so on disappear at sea all over the world, you would have to take out all of the 'routine accidents' before you are left with a true low number of mysteries
thats a top response. U dont really hear of ships disappearing in other areas and it could be that if they take away the same amount that happens normally then it wouldnt be such a hugh mystery...
Well I believe its a time rip or portal, that there have been some disappearances where people were talking to others, one of them was a female pilot and she was describing the florida keys as marsh lands, even though she was flying over the airport and then just simply vanished before eveyone's eyes.
There has to be some mystery in the world, without it the world would be a dull place, so its nice to believe that there is something wonderful and mysterious about such places as the bermuda triangle. It sparks debate and no one has the right answers, kinda like debating whether god is real or not.
i can live with that. There are a lot of mysteries out there and mankind cannot live with that, as such they try to make a logical answer out of the unexplained and if it cannot be explained it put in the to hard basket. The most famous mystery out of bermuda is flight19. They think they find them and it turns out false, some thing will always remain a mystery.
There are about 20 different theories about it..... none can be proven.. or dismissed, by the same coin.... its just one of those things that just can't be explained. hehe.... scientists think they know it all lol.
yup if it cant be explained by scientist then it gets put in the to hard basket. there always has to be a scientific reason
I don't think that the fact that it has lost many ships, planes, and people makes it any different from any other part of the world.
But sometimes I do wonder...
I don't think anyone has gone missing, i think there's a scret island of paradise out there and when stumbled upon by others, they like it so much that they decide to stay LOL.
Whatever is out there, is definately mysterious.
However, has anyone actually though of the accounts from people who have mystriously reappeared after years of being lost where they state that the last thing they remember was an awe inspiring light?
Could this be the work of methane? Could it be the work of Alien Races?
Who knows?
I am of the opinion that there is a ripple in the triangle. The ripple isn't there all the time but when it occurs whatever encounters the ripple is vanishes into it.
I think that there are very large deposits of magnetite in that area that causes ships, planes, and people to loose their course. This would explain it.
Seriously...I think that there is something about the triangle that we will never know.
i fee lthat, it is a place that man is not supposed to find out about.. imagine whats there.. people who have t ohide from humans in fear, of them tryign to destroy them.. havingt olook over their shoulders for the rest of their lives,, btu not there. .they can live in peace... and without.. shame..
If you where to pick any 3 points that formed a triangle, over an area with heavy air and sea traffic and compaired them to "missing and lost" reports, youd come up with very similar numbers to that of the Bermuda Triangle.
Forgive me but this has been done before for many random points in the world but I forget the book it was published in.
But if a ripple in time than it could occur at any giving point on the map. why just pick on this area. or maybe there is something in the section that we can't explain. Like atlantis, a puzzle to a puzzle.
I remember the story about Flight 19, one of the most mysterious disappearances, a loss of an enire squadron of aircraft...
How was it possible that not one, but all five planes in a squadron with several experts on board, just vanish...? & even more bewildering, was the fact that the search & rescue plane sent after them was also lost.
I dont think its "freak weather" or they were "abducted by aliens" as some of the theories are
FYI...as a sailor on board a U.S. NAVY ship, I went through the Bermuda Triangle 13 times and it is real.
i see it as an area that gets way too much interest. so many more ships and planes make it through than not, and over all, more planes and ships have crashed, sunk, or have had other problems in regualr harbors than have gone missing in the triangle area
Maybe not a time rip but a dimensional portal? or a magnetic field may also be in flux there which would throw off eqipment.
I believe that there is a vortex of sorts that pulls thing into it, kind of a gateway.
I think I have seen it somewhere it is also a holiday hot-spot and you can book a mystery tour around the sea area of the Bermuda Triangle. LMAO, you just don't know where you might end up!
In comparision to the traffic there are definitly NOT more ships and planes lost there then in any other arbitrarily choosen region of the world.
Lloyds of London looked into that some years back.
Only interesting fact about the triangle: How did Charles Berlitz or Erich von Däniken manage to make a comfortable living out of it.
The "Bermuda Triangle" is done for since around 1980. You might want to try and read up on Lawrence Kusche ...
I think that it is just a place that has been deemed as forsaken for all those who venture through it....it cant just swallow up planes and ships and they never be seen again.....
I'm not sure how navy pilots fly when in squadrons - wouldn't one sort of fly along with the others following ?
If the lead plane wandered off course wouldn't the whole squadron possibly be put in a position where they couldn't get back without running out of fuel?
That's what happened. Especially since they weren't experienced but mostly students...
BTW, read http://www.gwup.org/themen/lesetipps/bermudadreieck.html
Untrue, they weren't all students. They were all in their final stages of training, all of them were deemed more than capable of handling their aircraft, the excersize was being led by Lt Charles Taylor, a highly experienced pilot, who had aquired much expertise in flying over the Florida Keys.
The Bermuda Triangle is not unique, there is a similiar magnetic field in a mountain range in south Jordan.
SarraS makes an excellent point.
Do we find more wrecks on heavily used streets than roads barely traveled on? If there is a large amount of ships and planes flying through that area, there is bound to be a proportional amount of accidents.
xxemaeraldxx is correct. There is a similar magnetic field in Jordan.
You've got to admit.... if there are two of them it may be like a field of some sort... magnetite or other that can screw with their radars, and all there instruments.
I think there is something out there. I would love to go there to see for myself exactly what it could be
i believ it is somekind of magnetic force the core of the earth is magnetic maybe it is closed to the surface there then other places
I pretty much like menerfecious theory. I think I have heard cases that some planes has reappeared after the Bermuda Triangle insident back since World War II, but the pilots are still missing.
i think that the world has mysteries beyond our imagination that non of us can really explain. better to leave the unexplain, unexplained. and it is a buzz to know coz it is true life will be dull.
There is no real magnetig anomaly there. The field is a little different from most other places, but there are - if I remember my basics correctly - exactly 12 locations around the globe with the same parameters.
And those stories about planes coming back, but pilots missing are just that stories. Partly gong back on that Spielberg movie were Flight 19's planes turned up in (New ?) Mexico? I'm not sure, 'cause it's decades since I saw that film...
I,m in two minds about whether its actually a time portal,or maybe it was a scientific experiment that fucked up and ripped a hole into a parallel world.
Menerfecious, you wrote:
I don't think anyone has gone missing, i think there's a scret island of paradise out there and when stumbled upon by others, they like it so much that they decide to stay LOL.
I am going with that theory. :)
well to be truthfull there is one down here around the bas straight. but isnt as hugh (known about) Bermuda.
so know thats 3 that we know of how many more area can there be, science tries to put theories to it all but some they just havent been able to...
I have always thought that it was a ripple in time but if you check and map things....the "disappearances" don't only happen within the triangle.
I agree with trivia and emaerald the bermuda triangle is just the more famous of areas, there are other areas such as the bass straight between australia and tasmania, the ocean is so deep that even sonar has problems mapping the area, there is another area off the cape of Africa, and others on land masses like jordan and here in australia called hanging rock. And from what I have read over the years there are many disappearances and fluxes in these areas as well.
It exhists..obviously..but i don't think that the mytho around the brumuda triangle exhists.
I always thought it was some dimension or portal to somewhere else.I know some think of it as a place of evil. But I jus think we havent found out how to get there yet.
I am not so sure about Bermuda as I didn't fly over that terrain, but in Jordan where their was a magnetic field in the mountains all aircraft must route around it, and not over it. The mountains have taken many lives there.
I like Mene's thoughts, & It would be great if it was true....Just doesn't seem realistic to me
How do we get from disappearances to a wrinkle in time? What type of proof do we have that these planes/ships didnt just sink?
i think it's an area controlled by the aliens. i dunno, dont ask me :)
as was said before me I believe that the incidents that are described by enforcements about the bermuda triangle are no more extrodinary than incidents that happen elsewhere in the world, they just get bigger publicity than others because of the location. People love a good mystery and there for are more influential to rumors and gossip.
Well I've actually seen on the discovery channel a documentary on "Super Waves". They say these superwaves can be over 120 feet tall. They are also most common in the atlantic, more specifically, the bremuta triange area. I see this as a good explanation for ships to come up missing. Mix this with a hurricane, and a low flying plane...and you may have a very good explanation for planes as well. Although, I'm sure some ships/planes just have mechanical failure..or just plain bad luck.
There are several triangles with myths such as these. They roughly correspond to teh negative chakra points (ley line nodes.) I am not advocating this theory... just commenting.
well as i remember from my history research and readings, the lost city of atlantis was what is under the bermuda triangle. atlantis was sorrounded by three countries and it sanked into the ocean. today, the vacant triangle space in the ocean is known as the bermuda triangle.
there is a certain energy or gravity that pulls ships and planes under the ocean in that place. its because another island is beneath it. and with all the beliefs of how different and mystical the atlantis people are.. i mean, nothing is impossible if you would only consider and believe in it
I really like that theory too...I was thinking of gravity giving alot of pull as well
i would like to think it is a mysterious thing happening but it probably is some magnetic field that makes the instruments in the plane fail. But i don't think they will ever be able to figure it out and if they have arent going to tell anybody about it. lol just cause its mysterious and people like mysterious.
I have read a book about Uri Geller, its a telekinesist and he has been there in the triangle and with a submerine and there is nothign but extremely hight vibration and waves of energy.
I believe that on each side of the equator their are vortex points that interconnect and form a grid of highly electoromagnetic areas that cause strange phenomenas to occur. I believe the Bermuda Triangle is one of these areas.
Atlantis in Bermuda triangle? Thats inaccurate. Atlantis (Santorini Island) is located in the Mediterranean Sea and blown up by a super volcano that made the nuclear bomb look like a firecracker thus creating Tsunami waves and killing millions of people in the surrounding sea. It is true its the most advanced places in history than anybody has ever achieved. It is a mistake to build your house over sand as it said in the bible. But build it over a volcano, man the island now looks more like a backward C shaped island now. It might be possible Mu the lost continent in the Pacific Ocean may still be alive if ever.
no idea what is going on there but not atlantis and i don't believe in aliens. could be interesting to get the expiriense myself but don't think that will happen. it's fascinating to have a place of mystery on earth
I think many different reasons account for the loss of life and machines in the Bermuda Triangle , both natural and supernatural . As for Atlantis the Med. Sea is one theory , but you ought to look into some of the research about that that has been done on late Titticaca in South America ..........
i think there is a mystery behind the triangle..there are a lot of theories behind this and yet there seems to be no solid evidence of whats really goin on there.
I just love this topic! I personally believe in all the mystery about the Bermuda Triangle. I know it is a favorite haunt of pirates, but there is something about the latitude and longitude that make it a very mysterious place. there are so many unexplained disappearances! You can bet I will never go there! I'd disappear, knowing my luck!
Pirates !
Now there is something I hadn't considered. If you add 'routine accidents' to disappearances caused by ancient and modern pirates - you wouldn't have many mysteries left - or would you ?
I would think a pirate getting on board with a gun is more likely to create an abandoned seaworthy boat than say an alien
.... or is it ?
I personally believe that some mysteries will remain exactly that a mystery. But you must take in all scientific findings and search for the truth behind the facts..And that is the answer you seek.
I think the biggest facture about the bermuda triangle is because of the unknown which is why it is always a great topic everybody has there own theories about it and none can be 100% proven correct or wrong which draws ppl to it....
Why does the mystery have to be solved, why does one have to be right or wrong... its just an enigma that fuels the imagination, and in a corrupt world I think thats a wonderful thing.
I think it has something to do with some sort of magnetic energy that is why the compasses and other electrical gear get all messed up and there are 2 such sites one is the Bermuda triangle and the other is on the opposite side of the world so if you went straight down through the triangle you would come out at the middle of the other one. So I think it has to be some sort of magnetic thing like the poles. but stronger
I think that it's packed with fairy tales and human superstitions. There are other places in the world, similar to it. Namely, the region at the tip of Africa, and in The Indian Ocean. It has to do with the awkward gravitational and curent shifts in the regions. The Bermuda Triangle has just been more dramatized in the western world.
I think it has something to do with the elctromagnetic field or whatever. i think thats where they connect
As I understand a good explanation was the bubbling gas theory seems likely
The are in question is honeycombed with pockets of hydrates gas ect
When one cave collapses the violet bubbles cause 0 buoyancy like water boiling everything sinks … they found some ships hidden in such water caves who’s roofs had collapsed.
The gas also knocks out radio waves and can cause a man to pass out or suffocate … airplanes were also found….. my dad sailed through there and a ufo forced down the helicopters as they took off they shot over the blades … they reported it but nothing was released ….
its good to see so many varied opions great to see ppl putting their views across
I believe as crazy as it is to say that the Bermuda Triangle may not be as fictitious as everyone is apt to think that it is. I wonder then if i am the only one that thinks this way?????????
My books say nothing about it!!!!! That is new to me I will research it however. Thank you for bringing it up.
so it could be like a stargate perhaps....i never heard of it explained that way b4. I believe there is something strange happening there and science cannot explain it but dont think i would go as far as saying its a vortex to another world, but then who knows
I believe the triangle is simply natural but all be it rough and quickly changing weather and human error. There are hundreds of other points in the world that are just like the triangle. It’s great to talk about aliens and the supernatural and those topics sell lots of books but I don’t believe they are the culprit.
Like state there are unexplained areas on this plnaet, Maybe it will never be explained .like emelia airhart. just things that capture are minds and if can't be explained we deem it aliens, or other forces. Just a mysery to all.
Its true that for the past 100 years alot of vessels have been lost trying to cross this area of the ocean. It does seem odd. Most of the explanations have been that instruments and gauges do not work in this area and that is what causes airplane and ships to be lost at sea. But even if that is true its not like there is alot of huge rocks or anything of that nature big enough that a ship could strike and sink, though I am not 100% on that. And I have not heard of anything but don't ships and aircraft still travel through that area? i have not heard of any of them getting lost.
ahh this ahs been a mystery But yes I know the secrets behind the BT It is a worm hole a passage A time portal u simply arent able to come back from it u are sitll in the same place your just in a different time.
this has always been a mystery to me , i think it could be anything but i always figured probley something like latitude and longuted dont mix will and hurts the controls or somehting like that
Lattitude and longitude don't mix well? Could you elaborate what you mean by that?
I believe that the Bermuda Triangle is not a ripple in time but a portal to a different world and they never come back because they didn't servive in that world and the ones who came back many yrs later are the ones who were strong enough to servive and find someone who was willing to help them come back by reopeaning the portal and allowing them to return them safely home and they might be willing to share what they have seen or they are to afriad of telling anyone because they don't want the memories flowing through their head because that always desterbes me is experinceing the thing in your memory
As many of times that I have flown and sailed to the Bahamas, shouldn’t I have disappeared by now thanks to the left-over technology from Atlantis or a time warp to a different time/dimension? To be honest, I have no idea if it’s real or not. But has anyone noticed that there has been no reported incidences and/or disappearances since 1968?
I'm actually not sure as to what to believe on this subject. I have a movie called The Triangle that talks about it being the ripple in time. But....I don't know. Everyone says that no one comes out of there and then for a few years I haven't heard of anyone going into there...So...I honestly have no idea but when I was younger I wanted to be the one to find Nessie and go to the Bermuda Triangle and live lol.
theblackmamba - LOL Maybe you have and your in an alternet universe and don't know it.
Sense 1968 we have had, computing and electronic advances, better radar advances in air and ship navigational enhancements. Now adays we have satilites that can penitrate the ocean and see subs, and wales etc. Yup, not many people getting lost now or off course that can't correct the problem now adays.
The few people that do get lost it's shown on radar where and why they go done, usualy pilot error followed by weather and or mechanical error. Or their ships are pirated, that still is a big problem in that area.
I think all that about the Bermuda Triangle is a bunch of crock. If you look at the size of it, it's no surprise that a lot of ships go missing--it's humongous! It's not like we're talking about only an acre, we're talking thousands of square miles!
There are some geological formations out there that can make navigation dangerous. And, if you look, the Mid-Atlantic ridge lies within it, which in itself causes problems.
The more we explore our world, the less mysterious it becomes and thus myths of things, such as the Bermuda Triangle, finally get laid to rest.
there has to be something going on there to many ships and planes have gone missing there.
I must say, however, that the great attraction of the Bermuda Triangle is the mystery that surrounds it.
i think it is a made up story that people tell to scary others.
You think so Ross? what is the attraction about a whole load of ocean, watching the gulls?
All these stories are good, heh.
Alot of people believe that there is a story with the magnetic field in that area. That's why compasses and radars and such always start going haywire and malfunction when in that area. This is why people get "lost" when entering into that area and lose their sense of direction.
All you need is the sun people! Rises in the East and sets in the West. How hard is it to remember that? People lose themselves in the mist of technology these days.
Or a good sundial! Mind you , even with the sun location there are still vessels that never returned so that doesn't explain things.
Actually it does explain things. You didn't read the very last part of what I wrote, but here's the point:
People rely a little too much on technology that we forget about the basics and panic when shit doesn't work.
Speaking of mist! Misty weather, very cloudy, night ....
No chance to get your bearings on the water without technology...
DarkWingedPegaus hit the nail on the head no matter which way the sun shines when he said, "U dont really hear of ships disappearing in other areas "
So what about this: They say that one of the things that causes a global ice age (every 500,000 years or so) is when the magnetic poles shift to the opposite sides of the planet; quite literally the planet is layed on its side as we would now think of it. So, maybe the the last time the planet had an ice age, the Bermuda Triangle used to be one of the poles...I checked, and an equidistant point lands right in the middle of the Sahara, which coincidentally used to be known as an oasis...a jungle in fact, indicating that a WHOLE LOT of moisture one there is gone. So, lets say the Triangle used to be the equivalent of the North Pole (or South) When the polar ice cap of Bermuda melted, it simply added to the ocean whereas when the one in the sahara finally melted, it was an oasis for awhile but then dried up due to location. So the pull that may occur has to do with magetism, same as clocks going out of whack at the north pole. Perhaps the pull has weakened over time being that we have new poles...and in fact according to various sources might well be in line for the very thing to happen again. (the timeline fits)
Incidentally, I am completely making this up off the top of my head aside from looking at a map on google, but hey, it seems just as plausible as aliens AND if I'm right I have solved the Bermuda Triangle, The Mystery of the Mayan Calendar, various other 2012 doomsday predictions, The issue of the biblical apocolypse, Nostradamus' ramblings, etc. and so on IN ONE FELL SWOOP! Now THAT is a tidy (if somewhat bizarre and scientifically unsound) theory. =)
*applaudes* Sevenn, I luv you Babe, your posts are something else, and I reckon for solving that puzzle and many others all at once you should be nominated for Scienitist of the Year Award :)
