Ok this is a weird subject I guess... but it is based on a personal experience I had a year ago that I could never quiet work out.

For a good year I had birds following me around, no matter where in the house I was I would find them perched on the window sill tapping at windows or sitting on the fence near by singing to me. If I happen to sit outside they would be only a few feet away from me, but not close enough to touch.
I do have many witnesses to this, I even had my son follow me as I moved from room to room with the same two birds following me always tapping on the window of the room I was in. they would even wake me up in the mornings before I open the blinds tapping on the window of what ever room I was in. So they didnt even have to see me to know I was in the room.

Also the bird was what we here in Australia call a butcher bird.

I never once fed them or tried to encourage them and just before it I had a dream about birds which seem to trigger it.

So my questions, any ideas on why this happened or what the birds were trying to tell me at the time? Does anyone have similar experiences with animals like this?

yes i did lady..about 3 yrs ago i was working at a zoo..and these 3 ducks keep on following me everywhere i went..i don't know why to this day..but it happens i guess

It is strange and freaky especially when you get out of the shower lmao....

I think its just got something to do with the individual, animals are just drawn to certain people and sometimes this is stronger than others, maybe it has to do with the air you put off in certain emotional times of life, but I know that this is a common phenomenom.

All animals are capable of "seeing" an individuals "aura" and the energy you expel might be attracting them for what ever reason, who knows maybe they feel safe around you.

Well normally I attract dogs, even the nasty and vicious are like big puppies around me been like it since i was a baby. So birds was a new thing.

i have animals like deer and dogs follow me all the time.

I haven't the slitest clue as to why, but animals have always been attracted to me from every species, I guess they can just sense if your harmful or not.

Hamsters are not to be trusted.

I've heard an old superstition that if a bird is tapping on your window it means someone will die.

Of course...I've also heard the version where it has to be a woodpecker doing it for it to mean something.

I think if I had birds following me around I would try and persuade them tu kill on my command.....that'd be cool.

I think I also attract cats......whereever I go, there seems to be a cat of some kind around. It' weird.

I attract animals of all kinds but I have a special bond with bees. ( can normally can pet cats that no one can )

I agree with chrisg4202000 and Merodak. Animals are very sensitive to certain individuals--their aura, behaviour, hormones, etc.

I've come across very, very few dogs that don't like me. Most, even strays that tend to chase off people, will let me pet their snouts. I even admit that I'm, by far, not a 'dog person'.

As long as I can remember I have had cats follow me and surround me. Not all of them are nice but they all seem to be attracted to me by some means. So, I do believe that maybe they sensed something in you that they found simuliar.

they sense something with you. I have a raven that follows me whever i go, it is my spirit guide, it is here to protect and guide me.

Not to sure why they would follow you around unless you have an aura or personality that they were attracted to. When i was still living in TN, during high school for a few weeks i used to have a crow follow me around. Then after the few weeks were up i never saw it again

I would have to say that it does sound kinda weird but cool at the same exact time. Maybe they were just keeping an eye on you to see what you do during your time?

Cool! You obviously have an attractive nature to the little beasties. Prehaps , your a happy person at heart , who knows.
I know animals can pick-up on moods ect.....even if something is wrong physicaly with someone or in nature. It is just part of who they are , especially that of social animals ...some people still possess this trait.

Some animals just feel a kinship with people. They're drawn to ones they know won't harm them and that they feel comfortable with

I have this experience with dogs.
Dogs that usually won't approach anyone will walk up to me and try to cuddle with me, or they'll just sit down in front of me and stare up at me

I think that we have spirit animals that try to guide us as we go though life. I've had hawks, eagles as well as wolves who acted differently then in the norm, in regards to behavior. Being Native we use our spirit guides quite often.

OK NO ONE laugh... But I have this issue with butterflies and I REALLY hate butterflies!!! They should all die!! But they are always all around me and I hate it!!! It's like they know I hate them and they are messing with me!!! Or at least that's what my big brother use to say to torture me when I was little... He also use to say they were going to skin me alive... Now I have issues! lol

But seriously if there is a stupid butterfly around it goes right for my face.. I really hate it!!!!!!!!

I am use to dogs being attracted to me, was always in trouble as a kid for dogs following me home, I didn't have to touch them or speak to them they would just happily follow me where ever i went. People I have known with vicious guard dogs would always warn me to be careful, and I would find the dogs jumping on me and being as playful as puppies and very protective of me.

These birds were unusual for me and I haven't had the experience since. So it was just an unusual event.

And Forhim... everyone hates something why not butterflies :) I won't condemn you.

I tend to agree with the perception that animals can be drawn to ppl because they can sense wat sort of person that is. Like all animals if they have this feeling that you can be trusted and not hurt them they will come to you (dogs r a good example). Animals have this bonding ability and if u are picked as part of there family they will stick with u always.

I do agree with the hamster remark, penguins and squirrels are also to be watched :P

An owl at your door or window, is a bad portent. So they say. I personally LOVE hearing an owl hooting at nite. And i do believe that all animals know when a person loves them. My main question - Were you throwing out birdseed?

No deadgirl, I hadn't been feeding them the butcher birds here are an introduced species and a nuisance so I don't encourage them. So I am mystified why they took a sudden liking to me lol.

I have had something like this happen and all I can think of is that they may have been sent be some one to watch over you maybe a loved one who passed.

i have had spiders and lizard both do this to me at seperate times spiders tend to like to crawl on me and this dose make sense seeing as how it is one of my guides but it can be quite annoying killing a spirit guide because it startled you.

I think most animals can see more of the visual spectum than us, therfore more sensive to their surroundings.

I havent really had any good experinces with animals eccept my pet rats...

Animals are so in tune - it's beyond explanation- they can sense things from the coming weather - to dogs sniffing out Cancer in humans... they can also sense a seizure prior to its occurence.

They are below humans in the food and the 'conventional' intellect chain- but they are above us on the intuition chain.

I know animals are attracted to certain people sometimes but this can cause trauma in a child when I was little about 2 or 3 I was swarmed by butterflies there were so many I was told that you could not see my body for the butterflies to this day they still follow me and I am terrified of them.

No they aren't carnivours Minx they eat the usual bird things.. I did live in a house where my brother and friends fed the magpies and Kookaburras, we also had rainbow lorikeets which we all fed. There was one kookaburra that had a broken beak and he was the only one that would come near me, as almost sit on my arm to eat right from the container. The Kookaburras we use to feed mince and left over raw meat. LOL that I use to love doing, i must say I miss my little laughing Kookaburras.

Yes I agree animals can sence fear and pain in a person, they also can see and hear things we people can not lol, they are good to have around incase if a fire or an earth quake aswell, they sence it before it happends they bark and act nutts lol.

I know this may sound odd, but bear with me here.1. did they speak to you,2. were there 3 of them?
When I first was awakened I would see 3 ravens constantly..everyone but always 3. My awakener said they were messengers of a sort and to listen if i could here them speak to me.A Welsh witch froma old myth, Morrigan, was noted to be able to communicate with 3 ravens.
It may be a signal or message someone is trying to tell u.

I think it just depends on the person. Some animals may just be drawn to a specific person because their energy draws to them, something like that.

I used to wake up everyday with this one beetle on my chest.

I would always pick him up and put on the ground and everyday I would wake up and theres another one.....right in the same spot.

I wondered if it was the same one or a different one.

I never thought any differently of it.....
I just deduced that the bugs liked me.....so I let them stay on my chest.

I had an experience with dogs (I'm a cat person... so it was weird). One of my neighbours had a big black rottweiller adn the dog was really out of control... many children had been bitten and he was also sued. Well, the thing was that I had just arrived home and I realized, when I got off the car, that the guy was yelling at the dog and running after him... the animal was running towards me... I was walking to my house when I felt the animal licking up my hand... I turned back and I saw him sat by my side and I patted him on the head and that was enough, he laid on the ground with the four paws up asking me for a scratch on his stomach... the owner couldn't believe... neither could I...

were everi go there seems to be atleast one crow watching over me from the trees or telephone wires. it may seem far-fetched, but i like to beleive that they are there for me

Anyway, I love animals, and for the most part they love me back. The only thing that's ever attacked me is a bird. But I hate birds so... LOL

Well, dragonspawn said what I was going to say! The thing that also is interesting is that they were tapping on the windows which infers that they didn't simply like you, but needed to get you're attention. Maybe there was a message there or maybe it was reassurance that you were being watched over.

Birds are belived by some to be "between-the-worlds work" or to mean enchantment. perhaps these "birds" had a message for you/ or carried a unique energy. How did you feel when they where near you?

in my culture the Raven was the messenger to the creator he was the one who would watch humans and listen to their prayer and bring them to the creator for us they were also the ones who brought the messages from the creator to man. So who knows it may be an important message that they are trying to tell you.

In all the dreams I had of butterflies after that swarming they were always trying to take me away from my mother and there needed to be so many of them to carry me. That is a fear I would like to get over cause it is stupid.

I would attract dogs, sometimes cats. I moved into a new neighborhood, hadnt met any of the pple, and then one by one me and my family would notice dogs sitting in the yard or the drive way and where ever i would go, they would follow. Only me even though everyone else would try to lead them away or pet them. I kind of found it cute.

Notoriusorchid, yes there were 3 of them. I had a dream just before it started that something was wrong and I didn't know what it was and one of the birds flew at the closed glass door to my room and broke its wing and I was crying and trying to help it and the other 2 birds where jumping around me crying out as I was trying to help its fallen mate.

Litha at first I was a little frightened mostly because it wasn't something i was use to. I was having a lot of strange little spiritual things going on, animal growls, voices, visits by walkers, orbs, smells as well, bad dreams and strange shadows on the walls.
However I got use to the birds and if they were tapping on the window or sqwarking at me I would start talking to them. lol. Once I moved from the house it all stopped. Well the birds did anyway.

and what about other creatures? insects? spiders? I've always been afraid of spiders and sometimes at night, I wake up with a sense of fear, and when I turn on the lights, there's a spider, somewhere in my room... I think it's mutual... I hate them

It could be the vibe that your aura gives off..as some of you may or may not know, animals can sense peoples auras..im not sure if all animals can do this but most can...esp dogs, cats, birds, lizzards & ferrats! They sense what a person is feeling....if the birds were following you around singing, it could have been because you were upset over something or that you had something big on your mind or subconscience! Same as we pick up on peoples moods so can they!

I am not quite sure if this pertains to you experience, but once I had a crow that would follow me around. I even had dreams about the birds. One night I had a dream that the bird died. The next day, my grandmother died with cancer. I had often wondered if the two things were related or if they were just coincidences. Then I found out that in celtic art the bird sometimes meant death. So, could that have been a signal that something bad like the death of my grand mother was about to happen. It was almost like an omen I guess.

Hmmmm....butchers birds are somewhat carniverous. Meaning, in addition to eating insects, they also eat mice and snakes. They have been known to peck into humans from time to time, if they are too close.
Perhaps you were actually being stalked by a hungry bird??

Not a clue why i just think some people are seen by animals as ok i have always been good with dogs even the dogs at work when they are being big and fierce to everyone stop and wag their tales when they see me .

I don't know what they were trying to tell you, unless the tapping meant "look around at your life". Off and on animals will show up with me, mostly cats. I have always been able to identify with cats. The most was a cat with one blue eye and one gold eye, she was white with one single marking, a gray spot on her head that matched a birthmark I have. I found her dead one morning, I dug her grave with my own hands and have never been close with an animal like that since then.

be glad you all attract animals. I seem to attract babies and kids. They all love me and the older ones just seem to want to be around me.

I have had animals follow many times. Perhaps this bird is your "spirit" animal.

Animals know a lot more about ppls then we do Especially dogs . I remember when I was younger these baby ducks would always follow me and sleep next to me . Once the mother duck set her and her babies right on my lap . I dared not not to touch them b/c I thought the mother would not want them . So I them sleep on me and didn't touch them . When the mother wanted to go swimming all of the ducks looked at me as if I was supposed to jump in with them . Even the mother pulled at my shoe strings a little bit . It was sad I had to shoo them away .

I've always had a bond with animals. I find an odd sense of understanding between us... This has been since my first cat from 2nd grade and continued on to the two chuckle-headed cats I have now. Ditto for dogs and horses. I believe it is a matter of how in-tuned an individual is to other life forces. Animals pick up on whatever we energy we radiate and are either drawn or repelled as a result. (Like Im Dr Dolittle or something...)

Hummm... Perhaps someone was watching you with birds? Then again it is also said Angels and Demons will sometimes take the form of an animal to either comfort you or scare you. Meh, Im not sure.

for some reason mice seem to find me ? those are the one things i hate the most ?

animals have a natural sense to people it may be smell taste of something or maybe it is a bahavior that you do in your house that attacts the birds pay close attention and maybe you find that one thing that is attacting the birds to your house.

For some reason every stray animal (dogs, cats) always come camp out on my back porch. I don't feed them or anyhting, but at any time of the day (or night...I've found a raccon and a possum) I can look out my back door and see some type of animal either on the porch or the steps. I can understand the dogs and cats, but the others? It's kinda weird.

I haven't yet but that does sound way to creepy for me I think I'd be scared for my life

I`ve never had an experenice quite like this, maybe the birds just like you. or they maybe attracted to your scent, (if you wear perfume etc.) But i dunno it is a mystery really.

Sometimes it's a scent, sometimes it's curiosity, and sometimes maybe they just like you from the start.

I hate cats with a passion (due to being allergic to them), but those lil fockers always seem to be attracted to me for some reason, I can't exactly explain it. I can tolerate kittens for the most part, but it's the adult cats that seem to bring out my allergies.

Well the birds disturbed me I also know we were on or near a negative ley line which didnt help. We use to get a lot of spiritual activity in that house both my husband, children and pets all experienced it. So its possible the birds were warning me.

I have always had dogs follow me home, my mum use to tell me to tell the dogs to go home all the time. I didn't have to pat them or talk to them they just have always taken a shine to me. So I know I am a dog person lol

i know how it feels i take walks there is alot of dogs come out 2 stands beside of me.

Animals are able to sense things that people are not even aware of. Maybe they sensed something about you that they were attracted to.
