I know that Deja vu is just a hiccup in the brain, however I have had a few times where it matches dreams I have had. That is slightly different, yet it is not a sign of the paranormal.

There was one time, whilst feeling a bit of deja vu, that I tried to drag it out as long as possible. Seriously, next time you feel it, just go with it. Every movement I made, every thought was so light, almost effortless, like I had done it already. Weird stuff.

I did exactly THAT the last time I felt it...

I was searching the area.., and using all my senses to Grasp the moment... WITH this notion Trapped in mind.. it was Surreal!

Fabulous. Someone that understands how it felt. It is terribly hard to explain to people how to do it, or how it felt. *bows*

Did you get a result from it when you tried to search the deja Vous?

A minor result. I was working at Jiffy Lube at the time, and for some reason a wicked bout of deja vu hit. Since most of my actions there were practiced and almost scheduled, I just went with it. Like I said, it just felt that everything I did had no effort. I couldn't tell you now what factor gave me that feeling, I just know I went with it, and I was in that state for about 15 minutes.

once in a while i will ahve that..not sure exactly where it stems from but i actually enjoy having them feelings now and then :)

it was like everything was standing still around me.. and I was moving at speed... ALL my senses were exaggerrated.

I seem to experience Deja Vu all the time but never know where it comes from, it just seems to happen in certain places out of the blue.......i do not really fear it, it just sort of confuses me a little thinking where has this happened or has this happened before or is my mind just going on a bender.........

ooh - talk of deja-vu, i'm sure i answered this thread before.

i get it a lot, and i read somewhere that is is a sort of short circuit in the brain. you see, we don't actually see and hear reality as it happens - we only remember it. everything we experience is registered in the short term memory, and that is where we experience it, but by then it is a fraction of a second old. the short term memory is limited, so after about 20 minutes, it is shunted to long term memory storage. its a bit like the short term memory is RAM, and long term memory is the hard drive.

sometimes it short circuits, and the experience goes into the long term memory emediately, and then goes to short term memory. so by the time we actually experience something, it is already in our long term memory, so it seems like a memory from the distant past as it happens. in some cases, you can actually remember what is going to happen a couple of seconds before you experience it happen.

I have dreams that become reality. I recently had a dream that I beat the heck out of one of my coworkers that no one can stand then told them all to go to hell and that I didn't need their drama and I quit! I'm scared because I need the money but I know this is one of those dreams that is more near to reality. Ugh! Better start looking for another job!

It's a very interesting feeling, although a little creepy at the same time.

I was trying to explain it to my son yesterday, when he had the experience for the very first time. It's a difficult thing to explain to a child.

Just a bit of info - it's only called deja vu if you have the feeling of having been somewhere or having done something before, but do not know what will happen next. If you know what's going to happen next, it's called precognition.

I never really gave much thought to deja vu past "Whoa! Deja vu!" lol Next time I experience it I'll have to pay more attention :)

I have been places or inside musuems looking at different items when deja vu came over me either as a fleeting thought or something much stronger with chills and the hair raised on the back of my neck and increased heart beat. I'd walk away and come back and get it again.

I think everyone has felt this from time to time. I'm not always able to discern between a premonition and possibly a spiritual influence that is trying to guide me to a certain course of actions. I can usually tell, but it is tough at times so I feel like I know why you are asking.

I've had a few cases of Deja Vu, but it's been awhile. When it happens, I tend to stew and think over where the hell I have seen or heard this before. In most cases, it cannot be explained.

I actually have Deja Vu a lot, and I think that it's either something that I have dreamed before or a recollection from a past life.

I find it odd to deal with when I get deja vu of deja vu. No joke there, since it has happend a few times to me.

You KNOW.. i THINK I had that ONCE.. and the sens I had was that I was Over-taking myself!!

I get it a lot, was at workthe other day. I was surround by my coworkers at a meeting and I felt that I was here before and know the questions they were going to ask. It was like a natural high that stay there and you are watching things unfold in front of you, It was great.

Sometimes I only just see it in time to make a split second decision to change how things go and others, I've had the entire day.

well on that i just think that our minds playing games with us and that we see what we want to see and to some it is what is to be to other it is what was and so some they do not care and in that i just want to see what is real and good in people

I have had the my de ja vu match my dreams as well.
Sometimes it feels like a past life memory...and others, just creepy.
I really don't know what to chalk it up to though overall.

Lucifer rising - hey i get that too, then i get deja vu of deja vu, of having deja vu in a complete loop. it's totally recursive - like looking into a mirror when there is another mirror behind you. or that painting of a man painting a picture of himself painting a picture etc.

takes me a while to snap out of that one, and i need a rest to get over it.

I've only had deja vu once or twice but I don't know the cause of it. For most people, its their dreams but I can never remember mine so I think it must be something else causing it for me but I'm not sure what.

I had an event of De Ja Vous just this past Saturday. It kinda freaked me out as I was saying De Ja Vous and realized I had said it also in my De Ja Vous. Confusing huh???!!!

Seriously, I told my friend and said we couldn't go where we had planned after the club and we didn't go. Nothing happened where we were supposed to go...

I think it is all just a subconscience thing, honestly, nothing more.

I too have had a lot of them feelins ive been places and felt cold drafts when its 89 degrees it sends shivers down my spine

I talked to friend of mind once about this and he says it's just the mind "filling in the blanks". Some the mind can not remember things clearly so it just fills in the missing info with the things we see around us. Or but trick you into thinking you have seen some thing before you really have. I think that a load of crap. lol

I experience déjà-vu quite a lot. Sometimes I wonder if perhaps what I remember is a dream, but other times, I distinctly remember being in a certain place doing exactly the same things... again. Sometimes more than just twice.

I believe it's possible that I have dreamt something and then only remember the dream when I am doing that same thing. This would mean I dream of the future, but how this is possible, is still a mystery to me.

I totally get a kick out of it! I am also very odd, granted. However, when I find myself doing/saying/witnessing something I know I've been through before or when I (and this is a little dope, admittedly) think of a movie or a song and turn on the radio and the song is playing or have the movie show on cable a week later -- whoo hoo, I kid myself into thinking I've got a TiVo sixth sense!

I've had a few unpleasant things happen as well. Sadly, you can't always see the forest throught the trees and I was helpless to prevent it.

I had Deja Vu this morning in a meeting at work. As my colleague was talking i was mouthing the words as she was saying them.

Deja vus has a scientific explanation. It has to do with a defect on memory. It is like our subconcient minds percieve "things" before our concients ... Kinda delay between. It has been compared to epilepsy, and in fact. it is the most frequent association, temporal lobe epilepsy.
Ive got them all the time... Im used to them. And may be it is because Ive got an anxiety desorder...
It has also been experienced frequently, by schizofrenics.

I`ve experienced deja-vu many times, usually happens at work, when you do things you`ve done before and probably forgot about :) everything has a reasonable explanation...

i have ny self experienced it many time but like others have said it is ocerences where i have dreamed of what i am doing tends to freek me out sometimes i have to stop and take a long look its like i already know the outcome of whats happening

yeah I get most my deja vous through dreams. I think its part of uncontrallable human psychic powers - wish I had more control over it so I can tell what was going to happen all the time.

i too tend to have a good bit of Deja Vous...

and sometimes i feel that its remembering a dream .. which i accredit possibly to the dream having been a premonition .. you know the one.. going down a road you have never been down.. and seeing a house you "recognize" ..lol had this happen to me on my first ever trip to MI when i was married.. i literally DESCRIBED the JUNK in the back yard of the house in question .. and my ex turned around and pulled up int he driveway to prove me wrong... and there sat the old red wagon and paint cans piled up againest the back of the house.. just like i said it would be lol.... and THAT one was definently from a dream .. because i remember more of the dream also ...

but sometimes... i DONT get that "its my dream coming true" feeling ... and those are odd.. i have done the "roll with it" thing .. and sometimes the feelings are just TOO intense .. and i have to walk away and do what i KNOW ISNT NEXT .. yah know ??

and gee... though i dont want to doubt scientific proof of otherwise... i sure do hate to think that its some kind of disorder or malfucntion LOL

The exiting thing about it, is just the impression of unreality it has. It IS weird, and it FELT weird. But nothing else than an elecric reaction in our brain.

At times when I have the deja vu hit I attempt to search it out. Sometimes I can figure it out and other times I am unable to.

I Think I Read Somewhere that a Deja Vu, SORRY FOR THE BAD SPELLING, is a preminition that comes true. And the preminitions we have that are false we never remember.

I think a deja Vu is you're subconcious' way of telling you *we've done this before* hehe
I've had loads of little 5 second ones and a few 2 or 3 minute ones. But they all came from dreams.
I think its cool and like tappin into another part of your brain, just like learnign something new does.

its weird because i always feel like im having dayjavu or however u spell that... i get freaked out...and the other world...maybe it has something to do with it.

Honestly De ja Vu's scare me. I've had it before and I don't like the feeling at all creeps me out. Most of the de ja vu's i have had I dreamed about first i think. So De ja vu's could be premonitions that you've had while dreaming or something.

Just an FYI. The correct spelling is, "déjà vu." It does not mean "again you" but is French for "already seen."

I've had it as long as I can remember. Mine have been normal everyday things nothing of true meaning, like a sign or anything. I have gotten used to it to just follow it where it goes and then I go back to when I first had it, usually in a dream but there have been a few times I had it doing something that I end up doing in the future, example:

When I was like 7 I was outside and went inside to get a glass of water, I heard water splashing and looked outside to see our Hot Tub full of people. I was shocked and walked back outside to see no one. About 3-4 months later my sister had her b-day party in the hot tub and I again went to get a glass of water and there were the same sounds people I had seen before:) That one was really weird:)

I just had De ja Vous a few days ago. I don't know but i really don't think its just a dream. I think it may be that I experienced a similar situation and my mind remembered it as the same. Although, has anyone had De ja vous and in that moment of de ja vous felt like/ remembered having de ja vous of that instant before? I don’t know if i am making sense. But I have had de ja vous and remembered in having de ja vous of the instant before. It’s weird.

It varies month to month, but I tend to get deja vu a lot. At its most active, several times a week.
It feels more to me like a sudden collision of alternate universes who have similar circumstances occuring at the same point on the space-time continuum. Which is to say that I don't necessarily think the situation in question is happening at the same time in all these alternate universes, just that they all happened at some point, and collide hard enough to catch my attention on my plane of existence to get a deja vu reaction.

I am fucking insane, aren't I? Awesome. At least I know it.

Being skeptical, my opinion is that this is merely the information from the senses being written to both the long and short term memory areas of the brain, at the same time.

That is basically what the logical part of me thinks too, although I had learned that deja vu is a minor malfunction of the synapses in the brain, causing new information to be processed as old information. What I feel and what I learn are two different things. I like to keep them in different boxes, one labeled "Crazy" and the other labeled "Facts". Hehehe...

When I get it...I think it's a recollection of a past life. It's usually fairly vivid. So, I imagine I would have to be pretty famliar with it.

i allways have deja vous. And it always happens in my dreams, but thats because i see things in the furture often anyway.

It is a birazze experience for me when I feel that I have been in a place or situation before, but at a different time. Deja vu sometimes freaks me the hell out, because sometimes it happens so vividly, that I can predict what is about to happen, as if I really did already experience it.

Scary thing is, when that happens, I predict correctly!

I never think that far into it because it freaks me out but some people I know say it's just your brain remebering something.

Right......Mine and My Friends Theory is....What you are living now is a life you have lived before...and Déja Vu Is you Repeating something Exactly...or doing something different...to what you did before.

With MY deja Vous I recognise the CURRENT place/situation as if I have lived that very MOMENT, but, before.. yet, if I don't currently recognise where I am.. i get this sense of familiarity!!

How would my memory remember something that I KNOW I have never been to?? Oddity!

Deja Vous is real.
I had a dream i went ice skating in a white fur jacket and crashed into someone when i went backwards.
The very next day i saw a jacket like in my dream and bought it.
a few weeks later i went ice skating with school and it happened. I wentbackwards and crashed in to this guy.
Wierd.

In my opinion de ja vous is when you dream of something then it happens to you some time later...this could be monts or years I have had experiences of this type of lucid dreaming and at first it freaked me out but now i am so used to it it's like a second nature to me.
Some people don't remember their dreams and those people are those who call pre-cognitive dreams de ja vous, (again this is my opinion) so it makes it easier for them to understand the feeling of having lived this before.

I've had a few instances of dreaming of a situation which made no sense to me at the time, and then having it happen to me weeks, months, or years later. If I recognise it I try to go with the flow, it gives you a lovely trippy feeling. The dreams always stand out to me as they're coherent (I have weird dreams) and I can remember them for longer than a day.

On the negative side, I've since recognised that every one of these deja vus events indicate a major change in my life, not always for the better. For example, one was about meeting someone who later turned out to be a major negative influence on my life. So sometimes I think they're warnings, too.
