Here's my first submission into the poetry catagory. Hopefully I did the scroll box thingy right so you can read it. O.o

"Stalking"

I hear the footsteps fall behind me
Softly on the pavement
I stop and turn slowly
Nothing

I turn and walk forward
The footsteps resume
This time when I turn
I see him

Pale, even more so than the moon
His eyes are iridescent
His gaze is fixed on me
And he smiles

He's next to me before I can blink
His arm around my shoulder
"Come with me."
He whispers

I follow him into the dark
I feel him gently on my neck
Before I can react
It's done

I open my eyes to find him
Watching me curiously
I reach for him
And he helps me up

We stand together
For just a moment
Then I smile at him
And we embrace quickly

Now I am his only love
The one who keeps us sane
Through endless nights
Two vampires stalking the night

Here is a poem that I wrote :)

“The blood”

The blood runs deep into my veins,
But I fear it not, for it takes away thine pains,

I hide in the shadows for that one alluring victim,
The one that will satisfy me and my every whim.

As I take him by the middle and puncture into his skin,
I feel the essence of life rushing into me from within,

It boils and bubbles and makes me feel so so alive,
That one little thing… ha! Yes it is like a jive!

I leave my victim to rot and dance around in all of my glory,
My hedonistic tendencies… heh, but why am I to worry?

This blood and flesh and prey and fangs are all I have to live for,
If not for this, than what else? Heaven is so very very far.

I do this every single night, over and over, again and again,
For hundreds of years the same old thing, and it’s better the more I gain,

The more blood I have, the happier I am, yes this is the life for me!
Hey wait a second, what am I saying?? I am the undead, oh what a pity!

A pity to waste such an undead life, on killing sprees galore,
But the pleasure that it gives me, takes over all of my sorrow,

I will admit, I have been consumed by this red crimson fluid and why?
Because the thirst cannot be quenched so swiftly with water, yet the fluid of life will forever satisfy….

The withered lover

Here i am left alone while you , wander the earth trying to fill the black void of nothingness where i left you .
So I watch you from afar not able to touch hug or caress you.. I am nothing but a wandering soul never to be set free from the torment of not being able to be reunited with you. I`m jealous of life so I throw anything i can get my hands on. I scream in agony , and anger but no one will help me .The agony of my death will forever trap me to this earth. The fire that consumed me eating away at my flesh as I scream out in pain ,but no one will come to help me . I look back now as my death replays over , and over again . The fire grows closer taking hissing steps towards me . I scream , as I watch you escape , my charred fate as the flames lick at my skin . I can still smell of my burning flesh that turns into Ashe blowing away with the wind. Once we were a family but now I`m just a withered lover a fading memory that is trapped to this plane of a charred lot where a house had stood.. Only to roam , and rant in pain & anger.. Until we are reunited again..

The Hunger
The hunger ....
Red is the color of love.
Blood is the color of death, that drips on the petals of the rose you gave me.
I lick my lips to savor the taste of the blood that saved me.
With innocents lost a mortal dies young, and changes into something a new.
He stands, and listens to the night ,and it`s sounds & ,with eyes , and ears a new.
His heart no longer beats , but it fills with his hunger.
Now he is a beast, that will rome & feast until he curbs the hunger.

Here are my 2 poem entries.

A Foreseen Lose

In the distance I hear a shout
Unsure of what happen, I scurry about
I feel the sense of death inside
Longing with hope that time I bide
Before I am there a cry calls the night
If what I feel has occurred then they have right
The closer I come, shapes take form
Time begins to slow, distort and disform
The sight I begin to see
A weeping mother on her knees
Her tears flow with her every word
Making many deals she cannot afford
What I see in front of her is a girl
So sad when one so young leaves this world
Many times her mother screams, "Take my life for hers!"
Water twinges my eyes and the world blurs
I feel her heartache as if it were mine
Lost of thought, my breathe confined
Suddenly I hear myself speak, unsure if its me
"I can give her another chance but what she once was she'll never be."
The mother stops begging her deal, silent is she
Can see her thinking, curious, then turns to me
"I don't care what she becomes as long...
As long she is with me where she belongs."
I kneel down upon one knee
I hold her daughter close to me
I drink her blood, then her taste mine
A few minutes pass before her first groan
Her mother startled releases a shriekish moan
Softly she says "Thanks" and I say "She now belongs to this place,
This time she'll awake and will have to feed
She is one with the Night now, daylight take heed."
Somewhat confused the mother is, until that one shall bite
I watched her daughter drink from her in fright
The mother's bargain is now done
Her daughter's life for her own.

What Difference

In the dark one can see
Theres not a difference tween you and me
You may not drink anothers blood
But spill it in anyway you could
You look for your own self being
I'm not quite as deceiving
In the end we want the same
Immortality to continue our game
I may be a murderer to live again
But you do it for fun as will your death be in the end
I shall show you my world and delights
Then feast upon you in the moonlight

Or in case this one is unacceptable:

Immortal

Bang goes the gun
That you aim at me
Blood goes everywhere
Death slowly becomes me
Cold I begin to feel
Freezing it is to me
Stiffness overtakes
No movement from me
My soul wants to fly
But it can't leave me
Slowly I begin to rise
Death cannot take me

*bumping up the forum thread* This is a very generous offer by your Coven :) Thank-you! and I hope we see many more competitions from different Houses and Covens! It makes the place so much more fun too when there are competitions around!

I would love to enter the competition myself but only have published work available, and unfortunately have no time for writing something up when my mind is sharp and alert!

"Vampire"

Darkness finds me,
A fanged monstrosity,
Walking down the midnight path.
Bloodlust, a constant craving,
In a black hole stomach,
Forcing its hand upon me,
Forcing acts of cruelty and pain.
The sun, the gentle sun,
Once friendly and warm,
Now beats upon me with unimaginable pain.
Life a fever, like a fire that burns within me,
As if to blame me,
For all the pain,
I have inflicted on others,
A terrible half-life,
For ever and ever,
I pray for down.

The Rescue
My warm blood drained
from my body, as
he sunk his teeth
into my flesh.

I felt so alive, as
if I could fly.
A full moon shone brightly
into his deep dark eyes.

A drop of blood dripped
from his lips, and
he smiled at me gently
as life surged through me.

He rescued me from hell
and lead me through the
portal to heaven,
I am strong now.

Here's my first submission into the story portion. This is the prologue to a novel I am writing. :) Hope you like it.

I woke up screaming, at least I think I was screaming, I couldn’t be sure because although I felt my mouth wide open like I was screaming, I couldn’t quite hear the noise that would be indicative of screaming. The pain was shooting through my body. It started at my neck, where it was the worst, and then traveled down in a line that seemed to branch out like a spider web into other parts of my body. It seemed the more I breathed, the worse it got. What brought me to this point I wonder? To be lying in my bed, silently screaming against the worst pain I’ve ever felt. I wonder if it has anything to do with that story I was writing for the paper? Or maybe it was the stranger I met, who really isn’t a stranger anymore. Then I remember. I asked for this pain. I had wanted it. That’s why my screams are silent against my throat. I decided before this pain set in that I would not bring my transformation to the attention of other people. It’s amazing how that knowledge has stayed with me, even through the pain of it all.

I could feel my body fighting against this transformation, as though it knew what was happening and was trying to save itself. I knew that it was useless to fight, but instinct kept my body battling for its own life. The change would be unnatural, it would go against what Mother Nature had set down as rules for the living. Everything about what was happening to me was wrong. Suddenly, the pain slowed. It wasn’t quite as sharp now. More of a dull throbbing behind my skin. It wasn’t over, no it was far from being over. I had asked about this. “It slows, then gets worse before it’s finished.” She had told me. I had bitten my lip then, nerves setting in. It couldn’t be helped, I was only human. Anyone would be nervous before taking on this new life. I felt someone stroking my hair then, and a light kiss on my lips. “It will hurt very much if you stay worked up. You have a few moments more, please try and calm yourself before the final stages.” I hear her voice near my ear, her breath calming me more than anything else. I feel my body relax against the mattress before a horrible new pain shreds through me.

This time I have to push my hands against my mouth to keep from screaming. It feels as though a million hot knives are being pushed through my skin. My eyes glance down, and I see a sheen of red against my body. I realize what is happening, because I had asked before we had started this. My blood is literally being pushed out of my body, replaced by a sort of pseudo-blood. Half of my old, human blood gets expelled, half stays in being changed into this new form of bodily fluid. This new substance that will run through my veins is what will make me, turn me into one of them. It is what changes others, should I choose to do so. It is also only half of what I should have in my body which is why I’ll need to feed.

I loose track of how long it takes for this pain to leave me. I feels like an eternity of sorts. Then, almost as suddenly as it starts, the pain dissolves, leaving me breathless and tender. I hear her stand up and walk over to me. She takes my hand and gently sits me up. I look into her eyes and see sympathy for the pain I’ve just gone through. I start to reach up, to try and feel the changes, but she holds my hands down and shakes her head. “It’s better if you wait until it doesn’t hurt to move.” She says simply. I nod a little, immediately understanding why she says that. My whole body is tender, my skin hurts. I suppose that’s the price you have to pay for having your blood pushed out through your skin. I smile weakly, and she understands. I have a feeling she knows what I’m thinking better than I do.

I look down carefully at my body, it is stained red with the remnants of the blood. I see that my mattress will need to be disposed of somehow, as it too is stained with the evidence of what has taken place here. I’m too tired, too weak to talk still, so I point to the bathroom, and look at her with pleading eyes. She nods and gently helps me stand up. I almost fall back down, and then some reflex I didn’t have before takes over and I’m standing up right with nearly no support. She takes my hand and leads me to the bathroom. I sit down on the edge of the toilet, something I’ll never use again, and watch as she turns on the shower. As the water warms up, she turns to me. “If you’d like to see,” She starts, “Look in the mirror. Don’t worry, your reflection will be there.” She smiles at me as I look at her and stand up. Time to see what I have become.

As I look in the mirror, a face that resembles mine, but doesn’t look right stares back at me. My hair, auburn before, is now a deep red, almost burgundy. The waves that were subtle are now more pronounced. My eyes were a pretty shade of green before all this, now they are the color of perfect emeralds. My lips are red, and more full than they should be. I’m still red though, and it bothers me. My face is frowning at me, not ready to except what has happened. I feel her come up behind me, and slowly she turns my head away from the mirror. “Come, let’s clean you up, you’ll like what you see when we’re done.” She says quietly. I turn away and move towards the shower. I step under the stream of hot water and hear myself moan as it hits my back.

I turned my head slightly, and saw her standing in the shower with me. I gasped a little, I hadn’t expected her to join me. She was standing at one end of the shower, watching me, waiting for permission to touch me. It took me a minute, but I slowly started to understand why she had come in here with me. I wasn’t moving. I was just sort of staring down at the little rivulets of red that were making their way down to the drain. I nodded at her, and she smiled. I felt the familiar touches of soap and lather, against my body and my hair. I knew she was being gentle because the touches were light, if I wasn’t aware of what was happening, I would’ve thought I was actually washing myself. I kept watching the red going down the drain, now it was soapy red. Soon, the water was running clear, and I felt relieved. I turned the water off, wanting to escape the small confines of the shower. She handed me a towel and then left the room, leaving me with clothes and the mirror.

I dried off, running my hands over my skin when I finished. I didn’t hurt anymore, I wasn’t sure if that was good or not. The pain had reminded me that I had been alive. No pain meant that I officially was no longer part of the living world. I looked at the clothes that she had picked up for me. I was a sucker for cliches and she was happy to oblige me. Black leather pants, a corseted tank top, stiletto boots. I would look the part perfectly. I smiled to myself as I slowly got dressed. When I was finished, I looked in the mirror trying to decide if make up was needed. Apparently it was not. My eyes were large and bright, my lips were already red. I liked the pale look, so I didn’t need blush or anything of the sort. My hair needed no work either, falling perfectly around my face, framing my features.

I stepped out of the bathroom, and saw her standing at the window looking out over the street. She turned and smiled when she saw me. I did a little turn, grinning as I realized I was now as beautiful as she was. I looked at her with my new eyes. Her long brown hair had black undertones, her eyes were a deep brown that had hints of other colors in them. She too was pale, and had red lips that were just a little more full then they were in life. She was a goddess, and now I was too. “I’m ready.” I said, my voice ringing out musically. She smiled her devilish smile and held out a hand. I took it in my own and together we walked to the door of my apartment. “Now,” She said, “You’ll see the world with new eyes, and live your life with no regrets.” I smiled back at her and pulled her out the door.

My second poetry entry.

I Miss You

I miss you,and yet no words come forth from my lips,
they know not what you long to hear.
Or even if you want to hear anything from me at all.
Tis All Hollow's Eve and it's cold,
not the cold from the wind outside, but the coldness of my heart,
as it knows not if you even hear it beating anymore.
I know it pumps blood that is warm, but none of this warmth seems to reach me..
My soul,my heart ,all seem void and empty of anything.
I miss you,and am afraid to even type the words to you,
will you just make some joke so the words won't seem serious
so you won't have to admit or deny you feel the same.
I miss you,and I shall miss you for the rest of my life.
For life seems so incredibly cold without you.
I miss you, and these words will never reach a mail to be opened they will simply die here.
I miss you,it's truly amazing how one person can illuminate centuries of darkness with just a few words.
I miss you, and my words lie silent now, as I know they will fall on deaf ears and a deaf heart.
I miss you, I truly would give my soul for just one moment with you,
to hear words of love.
I miss you, your voice always had a way of warming me, all enveloping me with love and comfort.
I miss you,and the way you could always make me laugh even when I didn't want to.
I miss you,the sun is rising now, but it sheds no warmth on my skin,
only you could ever do that.
I miss you, nothing is the same without you, nothing..
the very air that you charged with your presence..
is now just a cold breeze.
The strong arms that once held me, are sadly absent.
I miss you, and every waking moment my thoughts are of you,
even if they are just of the past, at least I can escape there and forget about this pain that haunts my every waking moment.
I miss you, can you hear me...how many times must I scream your name,
will the wind carry my voice to you this night, or will my screams simply die on the night wind once again.
This night especially, on a cold,All Hollow's Eve,when all that sleep will awaken...will not your heart...
I miss you..

My first entry of my story.

Notes From A Vampire.Chapter One.

A dark clad tiny figure made her way down the rain drenched streets.Picking her way amoung the stones that made up the sidewalks of the old Scotish town. The wind fierce at times, pulled and plucked at the hem and hood of her long cloak. She occasionally glanced up at street signs, not seeing what she wanted, she continued on her way.

Finally she was there and glanced at the shop window with Borders emblazoned across its window.A deep sigh of relief followed her in as she pushed open the door and was met by a mixture of the scents of coffee, perfume, incense and ciggerettes.A few heads moved to glance at her as she made her way up to the counter, but none choose to make eye contact. The vampire, pulled back her hood and long waves of auburn hair fell down her back.
She ordered the special coffee of the day and moved to sit away from the small groups of people.Far enough to discourage conversation and yet not far enough to bring attention.A hard talent to learn at first. She warmed her hands over the steam of her coffee and glanced briefly round the room.No..nobody she knew nor of her blood. She raised the cup to her lips and pretended to sip as her gray eyes looked to the front door.
Hopeful but yet knowing the the tall, muscular figure would not be coming.

Without thinking she reached out to touch the arm of the chair..almost lovingly ..did he once sit here.Did that precious hand once rest on this table..she brings her hand to her cheek and closed her eyes and imagines it to be his touch.Tears welled up in her eyes and threatened to fall as she heard his voice once more in her head. That wonderful Scottish tone, soothing and intoxicating and yet exciting at the same time. The gentle roll of the "r"s, the inflection of the words that is so different than her own British accent.Blinking back the tears, she lets the voice and his memory flood over her, his tender voice.."sweetness, it will be ok"Filling her senses with his strength, his scent, his power..enveloping her like a lovers embrace.Safe at last, if only for a brief moment.

Voices sounded near by and she snapped open her eyes and pretended to sip at her coffee.More people filed in and took seats. She glanced at the chair again and down at her left hand, painfully aware it wore no ring on the 3rd finger. The wind howled louder outside, rattling the door as if to mock her in her lonliness. How many more such nights would follow this one.

Gazing outside with sightless eyes, just merely looking somewhere so not to be obvious. A voice sounded softly in her head.A British accent, much like her own.
"Ahhh there you are"
The voice sounded surprised as if she had just suddenly popped into view. Her eyes flickered about the room but saw nobody at first, then a tall, dark figure moved just slightly to her right side of the corner of her eye.The figure was outside and appeared to be looking at something in one of the windows, but moved just enough to show his profile to her.And then he moved his back to her again.

Shoulder length dark hair, fell on broad shoulders, the body clad in a dark raincoat, high cheek bones and an angular face completed the figure. He appeared to be solid and yet..at times his form to shimmer almost. She frowned and cursed lightly under her breath.
"How rude"
turning her body more towards the room and thinking now she imagined his voice.

"Not rude my dear Cariod.Rule number one, first draw no attention to one's self.Which by the way you are, such a light is shinning from you , I am surprised the people there do not see it.You should really leave ya know. And certainly not rude, why I am speaking in yer northen British accent to make you feel comfortable, I could choose Scottish..if you wish."

She cursed again under her breath.Cariod a word for sweetheart or beloved..in her native Welsh.Cheeky bastard.

"Whoever or whatever you are ..I am not amused nor interested in your lessons. I do not know you therefore you are a stranger and dangerous"

"My dear Guin, stranger yes, dangerous no, in time you will find you need me.Your strong and powerful Robb is not here now is he hmmmm. But I can wait"
A soft chuckle followed his last word and suddenly he was no longer there.Didn't vanish , just was gone.

Shook her head as if to clear it and mumbled to herself"Waaaaay too much of the green stuff"A strong liquor she had recently developed a taste for.Fumbled in her long coat for a ciggie found one and lit it,the flare from the match illuminating her blue gray eyes.Remembering to keep her gaze down so as not to draw attention to the slight incandescence of her eyes.Tilted her head back, relaxing a bit more and blew a smoke ring.Idly watched it catch a air current and move towards the ceiling.

Hmmm now there is a dilema, if that cheeky bastard out there is not a part of my alcohol indused dreams. I may have a problem and another thing..how DID he do that.Stares at the back of her hand as if she had never seen it before. Now logically, we are not Anne Rice characters in a book, people nor vampyres simply do not vanish into nothingness. We do age, have children, love and live ..hopefully happily ever after.

But, logic was never one of my strong points, so therefore I plan on finding out where he went.He had to go somewhere or come from somewhere, one simply has to find the key.Smashes the rest of her ciggie in the ash tray and flips a few pound notes on the table.Nods her head as if agreeing with her thoughts and looks again longlingly at the chair next to her.

The soft Scottish voice sounds again in her head and for one blessed moment she was with him, all the pain and the longing was gone."Just to be about ye."

My second entry from my story.
Notes From a Vampire

The sudden jolting of the train awakened her and looked about her, eyes heavy with sleep. She was home, northern England, but home seemed a foreign place somehow..all its familiar sights and sounds..seemed strange to her.
Her eyes..*smiles once again at the Anne Rice comparison..now seeing people, and things thru her "vampire eyes".

She sighed heavily in frustration.."so" she thought do I go home and walk around that empty dark place, with its ghosts real and imagined.
Nay..coffee sounds good and she began walking slowly, thru the darkened, damp streets towards the old familiar coffe shoppe.Stopped momentarily to light a ciggie bending her head down to the flame of the match..a pair of dark eyes caught the illumination of the match and then were gone.A tall, dark figure, quickly moved into the shadows.

She inhaled deeped and smiled to herself, talking to the figure as if he could hear her."Gettin a wee bit slow there, tall, dark and gothy"No reponse, a cloud of smoke followed in her wake as she made her way down the darkened streets.

Glancing up a familiar shoppe sign she frowned and shook her head. And realized she must have been walking fast..but why.Certainly she was not afraid of ole tall, dark and gothy.Opened the door to her favorite cofee shoppe as the bells above the door announce her entrance.

"Solace" she whispered aloud.

Glances up at the young man behind the counter, winks and nods.He flashed a big grin and brings her expresso to her table, almost tripping over a chair leg as sets her drink down.

"Hey Guinnie"!
the voice cracking a bit in mid sentence.A blush covers his face and he flops down in a chair beside her.Longish brown hair with white streaks fall across his forehead and frame a boyish full face.

"Relax"
She takes a sip and eyes the young man nervously fingering an earring.Puts her glass down and lights a smoke and offers one to him.
"Have a ciggie, you make me tired just watching ye.Whats up besides your voice changing."

He takes the smoke, rolls his eyes at her last remark, as she brings a match up to him. Then she catches it, the dark circles under his eyes, and she could smell fear..no..she could not place the emotion. His hand shakes as he reaches out to steady his ciggerette and comes close to touching her hand.
"Ian" her voice warned again ,almost a growl."Talk to me"

He inhaled deeply and blew it out quickly.Looking around nervously.
"You are..aren't you."

British, of course I am."

"No,no..Guin you know what I mean."
He is almost chain smoking now, only taking a breath to speak.

She sighs deeply and looks into his eyes, his gaze drops immedieately.
"Ian" reaches out to lift his chin up for him to meet her gaze.
"Look at me, tell me what you see. What you really see.And make sure you are thinking with the right head."

"You glow...almost glisten, as if there are tiny lights just under the surface of your skin.Your eyes, they hurt to look into them.I want to drown in them..to drown in you."
The pitch of his voice lowers and now is almost a whisper. She can hear his heart hammering in his chest."I can't eat, I can't sleep, am restless and I "his gaze falls to her mouth and her neck."I feel like I am starving..but I don't know for what but when I see you. I" his voice trails off.

"I ..I..what hmmm"

She leaned in close, some distant part of her loving to watch him squirm in his chair.Sweat beaded up on his smooth forehead and his upper lip, he licked it nervously.
She blinked slowly letting her gaze devour him, all her senses were straining..to hear, to smell, to taste. His heart, she could hear it hammering in his chest, his breath coming now in short, tiny gasps.
She literally could feel and smell his blood pulsing thru his veins and arteries..so sweet. So very easy it would be.The scent of him brushing acoss her face, the heat of his body, her scent mixing with his.Her eyes melted into his, he could not move nor turn away.

"Hunger, is that the word?"'
His mouth formed the word yes, but no sound come out.Yes, hunger , how very easy indeed.Just below the second button and to the right..where the muscle connects to the shoulder.Just a small cut, now, at this point, in the middle of his first real embrace. He would welcome the sweet precious pain..ahh or perhaps even beg for it.
She sighed inwardly, not really wanted to let go,but didn't want to draw attention to herself. Taking some of her energy back from him.
His eyes lost some of their luster and his body leaned back heavily in it's chair. His ciggerette had become one long, cylindrical ash.She reached over ,taking it , putting it out in the ashtray.
His eyes were still huge, they were taking in her whole form now, his gaze moving across her breasts and mouth. She lit a ciggerette and handed it to him,his hands still sweating, his fingers left a moist mark on the filter. She brought her finger to her mouth and without thinking, let her tongue flicker out across her lips.
"Gooood" he whispered, almost as if a sound would ruin the atmosphere.

"God, has nothing to do with it my dear."

The vampire glanced at herself in the mirror that hung to the right of her, waiting for the boy to regain his composure. His breathing had returned to normal and the hand that held the ciggie shook only slightly.
And the air around them seemed to hold it's breath. The bells above the door jangled harshly as reality came crashing back and the boy jumped to his feet to greet new customers.
Ah, yes the mirror, her flickered again at her reflection and a faint smile tugged at the corners of her mouth.Funny, many Old Worlders still believe the Bram Stoker Dracula crapola. That vampires cast no reflection because they don't have a soul..bah!A soul who needs one,Her soul lies within her husband and without him, nothing else matters.
The now familiar pain moves thru her and she struggles to concentrate on something, anything else. The mirror..she always hated the colour of her eyes, a gray dull nothing colour. They did reflect blue and purple hues of her surroundings at times. But for the most part a dull and lifeless part of her...as was her heart without her husband.

She glanced down and away from her haunting relection and lit another ciggie.Inhaling deeply and letting the smoke curl out thru her nose.More people coming in, humans, that scent, her mouth curled up slightly in contempt.Time to go.She placed a generous tip on the counter and made brief eye contact with the boy.His voice squeaked out a

'"thanks darlin".
He immediately went red and she chuckled despite herself.Patting his arm she whispered

"Decaf lad, switch to decaf"
He mumbled something and then cast his attention to a pretty, slim blonde girl waiting in line.Just as the vampire went out the door, she heard a smashing of cups, followed by a string of curse words in a voice that was desperately struggling to find it's pitch. She laughed out loud and moved to get lost amid the shops and people.
A book store looked interesting so she wandered inside and was greeting with the pleasant scent of old parchment , of aging leather, of simply age itself.
She moved up and down the rows just getting lost in thoughts of him again. She was safe her, the old man that owned it, kept to himself and seemed to respect her somehow.Hyde Park was calling somehow..her old haunt, a few blocks from her flat. She wanted nothing more than to lay within it's cool grass and feel the embrace of the fog and her husband.

"So many heads so little time"

His Scottish voice carressed her ear once more and a smile came to her lips.He would always say it in a boyish way, but the underlieing current of the statement was deadly.Together they were brutual and heartless to most everyone but their own.But so were the times back then. They had to match and surpass that brutality or be crushed by it.She knew that now...if only she had known that a short time ago.
Her guilt haunted her day and night..but so did he..with his gentle ways and understanding nature. How could she possibly ever be good enough for such a man.

Ahhh such a man, in every sense of the word...such memories she has..so much blood, the warmth of it,the smell of it...killing countless people, so many she cannot even remember! And how she enjoyed it, aye, even lusted for it, and for him.Together they could hunt, capture and drain the life from someone, anyone it didn't matter.
Even useing crystal goblets sometimes, the blood looking quite lovely in the firelight.Laughing and toasting each other..racing each other home, bellies full of life they had taken.Spending the rest of the evening locked in each other's arms.

Aye, he was right, as always, " love was a shyte word"No word exists that could describe the total rapure, pure bliss and complete and utter love they had for one another. No other creatures were so blessed or damned. As no other creature could take the others place. The world simply would not exist without the other.

this is my second poem entry I do hope this is liked it is the first poem I have written in a year

Samhain (sow-in)
A time for tricks comes from the hearts and candy and laughing seen for over a mile.
then you hear the cheering and chorus of something wicked this way brings a smile.

This is what is thought when Halloween is stated but what does it truly mean for all hallows eve?

The moment's stiffen our veins and causes us such frights from the depths
every other turn a new beginning and such a adrenaline filled rush as we fall down the steps

This is what is thought when Halloween is stated but what does it truly mean for all hallows eve?

A festival of lights and sounds clapping from shows all around, candies and other delights.
perhaps a event at a park or 2 people with shovels running thru, someone inside a wall waiting to cause you blights

This is what is thought when Halloween is stated but what does it truly mean for all hallows eve?

A time of horror felt and evil spirits afoot, demons of all forms trying to lurk and posses ones body
people being fearful and wanting to stop the madness deciding to pick up some anti witchcraft hobbies

This is what Halloween should be thought of and is part of the true meaning to all hallows eve!

people dressing as demons, ghouls, and phantoms to ward off the spirits and hide as a fright.
leaving food at the door for the monsters to grab hoping that this will leave their family in spite.

This also is what Halloween should be thought of and is part of the true meaning to all hallows eve!

Now look into history for a religion almost wiped out who loved to dance in the moon light.
and in turn create music and laughter for their youngest, then a fire be brought and the flames a flight.

Other cultures stealing this from those who would use it as a passage of time.
changing it a lil each day as the passage of the winds change direction and flips like a dime.

This is what Samhain or sow-in truly is, and what people should remember it for.

A feast a festival for a culture almost dead, awaiting the time for them to rise again.
laying wait till their time of year October 31,2007 is almost at hand every one stand.

Bloody Kiss

Oh talk to me oh pretty one,
About the things that you have done.
Come over here and take my hand,
And walk with me through the sand.

Tell me of your mortal life,
Was it peaceful or filled with strife?
Now place your gaze upon the sea,
And tell me again why you picked me?

Was it my eyes so darkly you were drawn,
Or as we talked upon your lawn?
Tell me was it my touch that you desire,
Or is this lust that only adds to the fire?

Whatever the reason my answer is yes,
I'm trusting your judgement I hope you know best.
You will lose the sun and live by the moon,
And once you are mine, that's it you're doomed.

I won't let you go no matter the cost,
I've been lonely so long before you I was lost.
You still love well, my joy, my bliss,
Come here I will bless you with my bloody kiss.

As I embrace you I hold real tight,
For finally you are mine tonight.
And every one after that too,
Honey I must say that I love you.

Here goes.

The Creature Inside

Sitting here all alone. Why cant she just go off on her own. Every more arguing. The only thing keeping her today is love. Love from friends she barely knows. She sits here on her porch, and yet she knows shes not alone. Cars swish by, and they have no clue, as to who she is. Do they care? No, they just laugh and stare. Does she dare look back? Why cant she stare right back? Would they se the creature deep inside? The creature with coal black eyes? If she attacks, she would bite, but would they dare fight? They would if they valued their life. They should have never messed with her from the start.

Footsteps in the Dark

I step along the alleyways of my city,
One foot in front of the other,
A cat prowling the night.
Only I'm not looking for a mouse to placate
My insatiable hunger.
The thrill of the chase seeps into my
Old, old bones.
I feel young again,
Almost as young as I appear.
I feel alive again.

I stop, frozen in time
As a young woman, a girl, steps near my alley.
I see her young face in the glow of flame
As she stops and lights a cigarette.
No 3-on-1-match tonight,
But unlucky for her nonetheless.
She glances up, seeing nothing.
Am I really here?
I step into the pool of light
Under the streetlamp.
She turns to look at me,
With a smile.

I return the smile,
With a charm she can't resist,
An offer she can't refuse,
A snake in the grass seducing the mouse.
Like the snake I coil myself around her,
Drag her back into the dark,
Sink my fangs into her tender throat,
And feed.

The visions come fast and warm with the blood
Feeding my mind, my tattered soul,
While giving life to my unliving limbs.
I see her life, as she must have been,
Before I came to snatch her from her cradle.
I see my life, as it must have been,
Before another came to snatch me from my grave.

My repast done, I lift off.
Tattered cloak like wings,
Soaring high over my city,
My night.

Here is an article submission

Samhain or Halloween is a tradition that evolved from many cultures and races. Celebrated at a point in the year when the seasons are passing from a time of birth and growth to a time of withering and death. In almost every culture, there is a celebration of the dead. It is not coincidence that these observances would coincide with this point in time of the year.

Autumn, in many cultures, is celebrated because it is a time of year when you are able to reap the benefits of all of the hard, hot work that went into the spring and summer. It is a time to enjoy the fruits of your labor before having to stock everything up for the coming winter. Just a pause in the movement of the seasons to reflect on all you have done and to look forward to all that comes next.

It is also not surprising that this has become the beginning of the year for some cultures. A time when things begin to die. So it would seem a good time to venerate those that have already gone on to another plane. Whatever belief system you may hold dear, there is most certainly a celebration or at least a time of remembrance for the dearly departed.

So it really doesn’t matter whether you are celebrating Samhain, Halloween, All Saint’s Day or just the end of summer. Remember that no matter how the holiday evolved it is a splendid thing to spend a little time enjoying the fruits of your labor and it’s a good time to remember and honor the ones that have gone on before us.

He could smell her .. before he ever entered the room. The smell of her blood, her youth, her strength, it was intoxicating.
He had been coming to the balcony outside her bedroom window, for over a week now. She, his chosen prey, knew nothing of his nocturnal viewings, nor of his building lust. Tonight is the night, no longer satisfied with watching her thru a pane of glass, that he would enter her world, her room, her life.

As if on cue, the balcony door swung silently open, with out the touch of his hand. A cool sweet breeze blew in around him and danced across the thin sheet that covered her body. She stirred, but did not awaken. He made sure of that. He knew that she would be scantilly clad under the sheet, preferring to sleep in a small teeshirt and a pair of panties. Memories of watching her undress for bed spurred his lust further and settled in his very core. Yes .. tonight he will have her .. willingly or not, though he did not perceive there being a problem.

He strolls over to the foot of her bed .. so enticing was the sight of her, he wasnt quite ready to spoil it yet.

He inhales deeply.. and listens ... he can hear her heartbeat.. even and steady in her sleep. He can her the blood coursing thru her veins, and longs to feel it coursing thru his own, his need for her growing in more than one way.

With a wave of his hand, the sheet slides effortlessly to the bottom of the bed, again she stirs, and again he doesnt allow her to wake up. "Not time for that yet Darling" he whispers to her sleeping soul.

Her skin, lightly darkened from the sun, literally glows in his Vampyric sight. The cascade of her dark hair, framing her face, makes him think of black silk. It also makes him think of how good it would feel wrapped around his fingers while he sinks his fangs into her lovely... perfect.. throat .. a barely audible sigh passes his lips as he thinks about it.

He walks to the right side of the bed... and kneels down. His face is only inches from hers.. he inhales as she exhales.. and he feels his control slipping away. He reaches out .. and lightly grazes her cheek with the backs of his fingers. He closes his eyes and savors the feel of her, knowing this is only the beginning, he WILL feel more of her tonight.

In her sleep, she reaches up, and almost touches his hand before he can move it out of the way. She settles back down, and he speaks to her .. in her dreams.

He fills her subconcious with visions...

Swirling with her sleeping mind are visions of darkness ... her dreamself, is lost.. in smoke.. no .. fog.. choking, gagging, thick fog, that she was to fight her way thru... then she hears the voice..

"Come to me." it says ..softly.
She turns from side to side, desperately trying to see who is talking and where they are. Nothing, nothing but the pea soup fog and her own fear, which is just as palatable.

"Where are you?" she cries into the darkness. "Please.. help me, I'm lost. I'm .. scared.." her voice trails off to a whimper.

His hunger aches for her. In her dreams, he floats like the mist just out of her sight.. talking to her in low whispers and sweet words.

In her dreams she sobs, and begs him to save her, to come and take her out of the fog, and into the clear night, to safety.

Outside her dreams, he watches her sleeping form. Her beauty magnified by the fact that he knows...

He whispers to her again ...

"Do you want safety? The safety that I offer is hard won, it is a burden to bear. It comes with a price."

"Anything.. please.. I'm so cold.. I'm so scared."

"You're very life? You're very soul" Are you still willing?"

"My soul..? .. Are you ... .. the devil?" .. her dreams whispers trembling, her fear more and more evident, inside and outside her dreams.

"You will come to wish that I was ..you may even call me such."

He moves closer to the bed. He is standing beside her, looking down, longingly.

"Sit up." he says .. and in her sleep, he obeys.

"Stand." and again, she obeys.

In her dream .. the fog begins to part, and she sees him, quite out of focus at first, but slowly learing until she begins to see features. He towers over her, at least a foot. His long black hair fowds gently in a breeze that she doesnt feel. Dressed entirely in black, the air of grace and elegance he emits envelopes her and she finds herself, in her dream, dizzy. She's going to faint .. her knees start to buckle and before she knows what has happened, his arm is deftly around her waist and he has pulled her close, catching her, keeping her from falling.... in her dream .. and outside it.

He lets her sleep a few more moments .. and he bathes in the extasy of the feel of her warm... alive body, pressed againest his.

Again he inhales deeply, drinking in the scent of her .. aliveness, her .. blood.

He lowers his mouth to the left side of her neck, letting his lips hover barely a hint above her skin. Up her neck and to her ear, barely breathing, he grazes his tongue along her ear lobe, and stops himelf abruptly. Raising his head again .. he says to her in her dreams ...

"Dont forget this .. and open youe eyes .. open your eyes, little one, and see me for what I really am."

A scream catches in her throat, for in the same instant that her fear awoke, so did a compassion for something that she didnt see in his eyes.

Suddenly, she DID know .. who he was and what he was... and that she wasn't afraid. That she did want what he offered, his safety, his life, or lack there of, his power, his love, his lust.

She smiled at him. This he did not expect. She reached up, and moved her hair away from her neck and to her back, her bare throat now exposed to him, an offering.

He pulled her againest him harder. Even though she had offered her neck freely, he reached up and grabbed the hair on the back of her head and jerked her harder, further to the left ...

Moonlight, streaming in thru the french doors that were still wide open, GLEAMED off his fangs.. just before he buried them, deep into the tender flesh of her throat.....

Death of a Princess

I am The Raven, and I am in a dungeon… alone, helpless… The hunters took over my coven… my master Lestat didn´t believe me… he was blind with the hunter´s lies.

I´m innocent, master … I said… but Craven had convinced him that I was a rebel and I just wanted the power to take my Coven to the war… but he was the rebel, he and his people … Lestat banished me … but they put me in this dungeon. I´m hungry and cold… it´s been days since then.

I saw deception in his eyes, the same eyes that two weeks ago looked at me with love, when he chose me as his bride. The same eyes that looked at me with passion when he bit me… Now he let me go…

The hunters have tortured me… I´ve felt the dawn light in my skin and I´m covered with bruises… Craven was banished from my first Coven and now he looks for revenge. He turned to the other side, selling and killing his own kin … making deals with the slayers. I couldn´t allow him to go on and he was forced to leave…

They entered the dungeon now, and he and two other slayers bring some tools … they want to harm me… why? If they will kill me anyway? Just for pleasure… I know…

But the body of the princess won´t be touched by their bastard hands… They want to remove my teeth … that is the worst punishment a vampire can endure; and my eyes will be taken out too… and they will drink my blood before I die. I curse them…

They don´t know the power of The Raven… the best warrior of my Coven… they still don´t know me… I´m never so weak I will not fight… They can do all this to me because I can´t defend myself… because I´m tied up, that´s why they call me such names… mocking me, slapping me in the face…

I just felt the punch and fell down on my knees… they weren´t sure what to do first… take out my eyes, rape me or extract my teeth… as, they came close to me and I stole the knife from the boot of one of them…

I still could see my Master´s eyes… his beautiful blue eyes, looking at me when the knife was piercing my heart… I still heard his voice saying he loved me… and felt the touch of his skin… No, Master, the body of your princess just belongs to you… nobody will have me… I could hear the hunters fighting so far away… nothing could erase the peace that I was feeling now…

****

Her body was thrown away from one of the tower windows, and fell down to the rocks…
When the morning came, it burned and become ashes… and the wind took her away…
Now in the nights when her perfume can be smelled… or when the wind brings the sound of her voice, some of us believe that The Raven is still looking for her Master… looking for love.

Hope i did it right :)

It is now

She walked through the courtyard. The moon was out and shining brightly so no light was needed, plus, she preferred to do this in the dark.
For once her mind wasn’t rushing with thoughts. She was calm; she had regained her mental composure and was ready to receive the closure she had needed since the night they had died. Kneeling down on a patch of grass in front of a rose bush, she bowed her head and put her hands in her lap.
He watched her from beneath the cover of shadows. Her future mentor, past guardian and her present audience. He felt her heart crying, it beat had weakened. Her eye no longer twinkled and her smile was almost non existent. When her sisters had been killed, a large part of her had gone with them.
Her mind was quiet, and she was still. He could feel her thinking intently but on one focused thought. The ones she loved.
He had been there in her weakest moment, when she wanted to be alone. Of course she had known he was there but had resigned her self to the fact that he was just a figment of her imagination. Even crying out to him, sometimes in hopeless misery and other times out of anger at his absence. It had killed him though he knew she could feel him she had always wanted the hard facts. She wanted to see him.
The moon shone over her blonde hair and onto the back her of her neck, the top of her tattoo peaking out of her collar. The dagger.
Three roses intertwined around one dagger reaching the length of her back tied tightly but thorny vines. A symbol of their strength, loyalty and love. A strength that nothing could break, not even Zeus himself could compare. They were each other’s heart and soul. Each one making up the others. He understood her weakness. And so did many and so she became reclusive. Without a heart and soul, she was not alive, just existing.
Finally, she stirred tossing her hair back slightly hands reaching up behind her neck and unclasping the locket that hung around her neck. She unclasped it and peered longingly into the faces of her true loves. She felt the words b4 she even said them.
“I love you…” her palm wrapped tightly around the locket as she held it against her chest.
She took a deep breath and relaxed. He felt her crying and knew the tears were falling silently. She leaned over a little divot she had made and placed the locket in there wrapped in one of her late father’s handkerchiefs.
They were buried, finally.
Standing up, she shook her head but didn’t move to leave. As if waiting. The future was now.
“Are you ready now?” He said stepping out from the shadows.
Her voice was small but steady and a little of the life that was her had come back.
“I am now.”

Plant them Well

"So, how is it that when push comes to shove, I always manage to remain so still. It’s been a while." I said.
Shamous. He'd been gone for what seemed like a lifetime. Though it looked as if he hadn’t even aged. Eyes just as bold and strong, always looking into me instead of at me. His long brown hair tied back into a knot. Yes....the same. Thank God.
"It has hasn’t it? And yet..." he looked around my bare apartment "nothing has changed."
He walked towards me slowly, like he was calculating every step. Brow furrowed in an expression that seemed he was concentrating with great effort.
"Julie....I, don’t know how to explain what happened."
I shivered. His very presence in my room gave me goose bumps, probably because I hadn’t seen him for so long.
The war in the Middle East had gotten to intense, for the first time in seventy years there was a draft. Sure, we despised the government and we protested but in the end Shammy said it was better if they went and got it over and done with.
We made love intensely before he left. The thought that we'd never be together like that again terrified us, and yet merged us together stronger then anything. Neither of us slept, we just talked or lay there in silence.
All too soon the sun rose, and all my love was dressed up like a GI Joe and off to fight a war we both knew wouldn’t end until everyone had what they wanted. When he walked out that door my heart went with him. I closed my eyes and felt it pull out of my chest like it was attached to his, leaving a gaping wound.
I cried myself to sleep almost every night for a year. When i got one of his letters, i cried even harder until one day, I couldn’t cry anymore.
I talked with my friends who’s husbands and wives had gone off to fight. We all seemed bitter but near the end we'd all be silent, resigned to our 50/50 fate. They live, or they die.
I’d come home tonight after one of our dinners and crashed on the sofa with a bottle of wine. It was our 5th anniversary. We never got married...but who needs a peice of paper to be husband and wife.
"Shammy...come here." I said.
Taking a closer look, he was different. Paler and distant. He was right in front of me but i felt that even if I were to reach out....I wouldn’t be able to touch him. I suppose a warrior goes through that.
"I want you to know that I love you. I never meant to leave you."
Even his voice seemed to get farther away.
"Shammy, hun, I know. It was the draft. Come, sit by me." I was getting scared.
"Promise me; promise me that you'll put the flowers in the ground. They blow away otherwise."
We'd always talked about having flower beds on the window sill but he had just come back why was he talking about something so...simple.
"I have to go now. I am needed."
"What?! Shammy?! Hey! But...what are you talking about. You just got here. You're on leave or something?" I got up but he backed away.
I was so cold and light headed standing up.
Every step I took towards him he took one back until he smiled at me and turned away.
I ran to him but my legs wouldn’t work. They’d fallen asleep as I slept.
"Goodbye hunny. I love you. See you soon." he said before going out the door and closing it tightly.
I got up and started banging on the door. My hands started to bleed but I didn’t care. I was crying but I couldn’t get the door open. i thumped and kicked it but didn’t even make a dent.
I could hear him on the other side
"Julie. It’s ok. Julie. Julie."
Then I woke up with a start. My room was cold as ice I could almost see my breath and the tears seemed to freeze on my cheeks. Charly’s voice came from the doorway.

I opened the door to see Charly, he was holding a letter.
"Are you alright?" he took a step inside.
"Yes, I just had ....” I paused. Looking at the letter again.
I frowned and took a seat o the sofa. My wrists were sore.
“He…he came to say goodbye." I said.
Charly fiddled with the eveloope, it was already open but we didn’t need to read it to know what it said.
"What? Listen…I just got this.....I think I know what it is...I want us to read it together."
Charly was Shammy's oldest friend. We had letters from Shammy sent to him just incase there was any news, good or bad.
"Shammy beat you to it." Julie said smiling.
"He said he wanted me to be with you." Charly smiled back.
Sitting on the couch, blanket around us, we sat there till the sun came up. The letter sitting between the Vase and wine bottle.
We mourned for him and said goodbye together.
"We should go get some flowers." Charly suggested looking at the vase.
"Plant them well. So they don’t blow away."

Obsidian
Summer 1707

Cast upon midnight shores, awash against sands of ancient days past, gathers the foam of torrential seas stirred by a memory
Stirred by the dark blue

There is crispness in the air, and a scent of Jasmine lingers well after the rains have passed

From the window of my self imposed seclusion, within the tower of this lonely fortress I once called home, I gaze upon the waves below and watch as their tears, rising into the empty space above the jagged rocks, disappear, as if gathered by some unseen hand of remorseful intent.

Across a once emerald field, now no more than barren earth and mud, a warm light bathes the naked skin of past eventides and days of eventful tidings and splendour of youth; as a fond caress from a lovers gentle touch
A pure white light of a Sanguine moon

As I try resting my eyes a mist begins to rise, a small whirlwind of sand and foam and sea, spun upon the dead earth as it collects into form
And as I watch this magic, this sorcery of which I am sure exists, my heart pounding in my chest ready to burst out of fear and anticipation;
I see her

Once again I see her, arms outstretched to receive me, lips beckoning mine, her eyes…yes her eyes, deep, dark, filled with the light of subdued passion yet untouched
I feel my spirit itself pulled into her embrace and in a moment of time that exists either by grace or need; I face her

Her fingers touch my lips, I take her hand and kiss it gently, my mind is lost in her essence and I am her servant, her slave, ready to do her bidding with one word from her blood red lips
She pulls me close to her, and again the whirlwind rises, around us it raises and all time is lost to me
Within her embrace I am lost to heaven and sentenced to hell
A dark, cold, erotic embrace; One I wish not to break but only to succumb to.

She releases me and my heart feels the pain of the parting, but as I gaze about I am once again lost in this dream, this amazing dream that I wish not to end
We are in a place I know not of, a place of black granite columns and white marbled floors, a place of warmth and comfort, far flung from the cold and damp earth that I stood upon only a fleeting moment ago

My senses are captured by the fragrance of the midnight air, of rose and patchouli and jasmine
I become weak when she speaks my name and in the shrouded senses of my mind, I begin to remember

We are dancing to music that grabs at ones heart and heightens the senses of ones passion
A menuet, No a Danse Macabre, one that drives the blood into a frenzy throughout these seemingly empty shells that surround us, their eyes like a million tiny red flames

Our eyes are locked into each other’s very soul, her deep, dark ebony eyes haunt me and yet the very death that they speak of drives me deeper into them
All becomes dark as she moves closer to me and exposes her silken skin, her soft, perfect neck flush in the light of the Sanguine Moon that has parted the filaments of the heaven and bathed her in its warmth

Kiss me my love, kiss me as you once did whence we were young, kiss me my Lord, as only you have done, kiss me
Her words drift into the night as my lips play upon her
I feel her move in my arms, I taste the warmth of her soul the sweet taste of her life as it teases my tongue and quenches my thirst
I feel her kiss, and then the piercing pain of pleasures forgotten, as she too tastes of her need
We are bound in the blood passion of our past; we are once again whole no longer strangers to the other

It is a mist that clears and my senses are once again captured by the fragrance of her body
And upon the satin sheets of her web we are entwined lovers both caught in the pains of each other’s fears and needs
Her body is warm and her passion drives my senses into doubt, how can this be
What is it that I fear from her; yet hunger for it with all my soul
What drives this yearning in me this lust of an unearthly power this crimson river of pleasure I feel with her under me

With each release of inhibited yearnings, the pains of knotted and twisting ties within, with each cry of ecstasy encountered, with each gasp of air breathed in and exhaled; a part of our very souls joins and unifies as one
Her screams are drowned out by my very own, and the rush of blood, hot and thick within our veins drives our desires deeper into a bottomless pit of eternal cravings for each other’s needs
I kiss her neck, tasting the salt of her body that bleeds from her pores as the sweet nectar that seeps from the body of the comb

A teasing bite, and her body surges, filled with the fire of a demoness
She pulls me deeper and I feel the depth of her womanhood engulf me, her eyes betray her ecstasy and her tears the pain of wants enduring
I know of her every pleasure and need, and she of mine.

It has seemed as if forever, there upon her web spun from the inhibited desires of the soul
A web of lust and passion, of love conquered and lost, a web of total submission to the desires of the body, of every sin unforgiving and demanding of ones very spirit
Of sweat and blood and lament

I arise from the nightmare, conjured by the past and a life forgotten
I awake to the fragrance of Jasmine and blood and sweat
To the fragrance of rich earth and cool midnight air
I awake naked and lost, my body shaking from the pleasure of such a dream, a nightmare, and a lost memory.

The silent shadows arise as the sheer linen like essence engulfs my room
I bathe in its cold touch as it caresses my naked form and I feel its energy as it courses through the very limits of my now darkened soul…
I feel no remorse, only the yearning to feel her body against mine and to once again swim listlessly within her embrace
God is no longer a coveted icon of my world, he who has forsaken his son or has he given him unto his inner most desires
Heaven and hell are my boundaries between the worlds of this eternal life I have chosen of my own free will

As I gaze, one last time upon the face of my eternal damnation, unto the dead fields of my land, I know the peace they feel in the moonlight and the sorrow of the morning as it encroaches upon their freedom

I feel a strange warmth upon my face, and as my eyes slowly open, squinting from the burning rays that cut through the soul as a saber unhindered through the air until it finally hits its mark
I rise from my bed, slowly and unsteadily making my way across the room

I undo the latch that secures the rainbow colored glass windows whose casting upon the walls creates a kaleidoscope of stoic resilience unaffected by my own transparency and listless emotions

The full brilliance of the morning bathes me with its warm touch and as my attention is drawn to the now dew covered lawns of this new reality, the earth no longer barren and naked, I smell once more and for the last time her scent, lingering only for a moment before becoming a lost memory to a new day

The sea below is calm and its ebb and flow speak of tranquil days ahead.
I feel lost at that moment, far distanced from the spirit of her essence, not knowing if I shall ever see her again, needing to only touch her hand and feel the warmth of her smile

She healed my soul with her passion and her caress
Her laughter brought a smile to my lost heart and she took me within her very spirit and danced a dance of passion only imagined in a poet’s heart
She saved me, she who appeared as a shadow of my very sorrows casting her childlike innocence upon me as a dandelion seed upon the wind

I wanted at that moment to once again feel her under me her body pulling me deeper into my own fears of loving
Her passions exploding with every fond caress and climaxing with her fingers burying themselves within my skin, tearing out the inhibitions that lay underneath for so long

But I knew as the carriage drew closer to my dwelling that it was not meant to be, she was not to come to me again in such a way, and I would never again to her.

The Lady of the manor had returned, quiet, dignified and reserved
I waved as the coach circled, and watched her alight step by step
She smiled coquettishly, and I returned a slight smile and wave
But my glance did not settle upon her as it once had in times before
But instead, it found it’s way back across the field, searching and probing for a hint of the small death that had awakened me and opened my eyes and heart once again.

But she was not to be seen and only the occasional fragrance of Jasmine from the floral gardens below were even a subtle hint as to her once presence in my life

Winter 2007

The harshness of the winters cold is as a coat of fine silk as it wraps itself about me
Another year, another century, another place; the fields of emerald now replaced by frozen fields of tar and ice and snow
The sea of tranquil thoughts and fleeting dreams now replaced by the flow of progress commuting within a whirlwind of chaos and subtle madness
I stand by the steps of an old church whose visage and heart core design return memories of an age past when once she came to me as only a dream and a shadow of my hidden indifference
I await her arrival patiently observing all who pass by
Wondering if she will recognize me after all these decades of separation

It is then that I see her approaching from the east as once she had those many years afore
She slowly approaches and her every stride is as a graceful wisp of sea air as it gradually fills my senses yet once again with the lingering scent of Jasmine

Our eyes meet, and we laugh and smile intently at the other
She takes my arm and together we walk in a strange land among a generation lost of our perception, there is no concern for them
It is three hundred years in the past for us once again, in a time a place far from the surrounding madness that confronts us now

Our time is short, we both know this, but it will be time well spent together and with no cares paramount
Though it may be another century that may pass before we meet again we will have these days that we abide here in
We will share our passion once again, and dance to the menuet of yet another life time….if for only a time

Vampire Hearts dont die, they fade.

Vampire Hearts dont break, they slowly crumble.

Vampire Hearts dont love, they become whole.

Vampire Hearts arent used, they are lived.

Vampire Hearts dont hate hate, they despize.

Vampire Hearts dont feel saddness, they feel regret.

Vampire Heartsarent alowed to be empty, instead they are locke air tight.

Vampire Hearts dont cry, they leak gradually.

Vampire Hearts dont feel pain instead they wrote this.

Soft, white flesh
I long to caress
I smell the life within her
An unnatural fire ignites my veins

Ruby red lips form my name
Seductively and with passion
The sound of her heart throbs in my mind
Deep down I am sickened, but the urge is so strong

Damn me sweet whore
Take me to the depths from whence you came
How I can live with death?
How can I live without?

I hold your lithe form in trembling arms
You writhe like a goddess of love
And invite me to partake
In lust, condemned and damned

In your eyes I see promise
In your curves I feel promise
I am spellbound and moonstruck
I go in for the feast

A cry of both pain and pleasure
Rents the night air
Blood, sweet lifeblood I drink greedily
Draining your beauteous form, darkening my soul

I indulge like a glutton
Until a pale corpse lies before me
Though sated, my spirit shrivels
And I cry undead tears

Through the wracking sobs I hear
The laughing…
The taunting…
The Succubus forever delighting in her game

No one would ask;
they knew the task;
`Tis only to win the game;
A billion strong;
it won't take long;
yet only one will remain;
it was a test;
to find the best;
the only perfect soul;
they will not rest;
to meet there fate;
to win thire only goal;
Blood and Swet;
was all they met;
as thay fought for the ball;
One stood out;
there was no doubt;
he was better then them all;
by his might;
he did the right;
claming the ball for himself;
the rest did die;
it was no lie;
only he could clam the wealth;
Nine moons did pass;
and free at least;
He gave a mighty screem;
it was so cold;
he was not onld;
but accomlished his only dream;
in that life;
he knew much strife;
but would not yeild to pain;
for in the Start;
A breed apart;
He already Won the Game

OH! I'm so so SO sorry, there was a typo in there! Here it is without the typo! I'm so sorry, many apologies! *bow* :( Please forgive me!

~Heed The Warnings~

As my feet step on the leaves
an aroma is released
that tells of spirits coming near
and of their impending feast.
The wind that carries whispers
so soft to human ears
foretells the story of the night
that fills us full of fear.
So on this dark and gloomy time
I cannot help but flee
For the spirits that are coming now
come here in pairs of three.
Within each group one represents
an evil un-foretold
so as little ones go out tonight
malice surely will unfold.
Close your eyes, don't follow
all the demons in your eyes.
Shut your mouth, don't speak out
or the evil will arise.
And last of all but most important
don't listen to their words!
For what they whisper in our ears
is best to be left unheard.
If you heed my warnings,
then you shall be safe tonight.
But if you disobey a single word
then the demons you invite.

The Halloween (Samhain) season is approaching. As we prepare for the festivities, ever wonder where they started from. We dress our children up to go from house to house for treats. Jack-o-lanterns are put outside our doors. Bobbing for apples from a tub of water or from off a string is a great game to play at parties. The old Hag is probably the most recognized symbols of Halloween. All of these things have a long history and evolution that has made them the enjoyment we have today.

Dressing up and going door to door, singing “Trick or Treat” is a staple of Halloween celebrations. The easy answer for where this tradition came from would be that they dress up to ward away evil spirits. Well from what I have found that is not precisely why. There is a custom called Soul-caking. It is where a group dresses up and enacts scenes for the residences of the house and is rewarded with Soul-cakes. It may also be intertwined with the wassailing tradition at Christmas time. The scenes were a mummers play, “which consisted of a challenge, a battle, a death, and a magical revival.”(1) There is also another tradition linked with the Day of the Dead Ceremonies.
“The souls of small children are called 'angelitos' and they arrive earlier, on October 31st.”(1) Parents light fire crackers as children are dressed up and sent out with toys and sweets to guide the lost angelitos.

Carving a face on a pumpkin is another tradition that has most likely evolved from different traditions. An old pagan tradition was to carve faces in vegetables and placing them in windows and along to perimeter of their circles to ward off evil spirits. The candle placed inside could be traced back to putting candles in the window to guide spirits along their way.(2)

Apple magic is also a wide spread practice during Samhain. It is told that many heroes crossed the western see to retrieve the precious apples that are ready for harvest at Avalon. Bobbing for apples lays homage to the crossing of the water for the sacred apple. There are also many scrying methods involving apples that are appropriate for this time.(3)

As Samhain is the dying of the god and rising of the Crone goddess, the old hag stirring her caldron has become an icon of Halloween. “The popular image of her as the old Halloween hag menacingly stirring her cauldron comes from the Celtic belief that all dead souls return to her cauldron of life, death, and rebirth to await reincarnation.”(2)

So as you are celebrating summers end remember that many of the fun things you are participating in are probably very old rituals. They have evolved over many centuries to make sure that everyone has a good time on this most hallowed of evenings.

I had a interesting life as a warrior and when I was wounded by another soilder a lady came by what I thought to be a lady anyway she looked at me and told me I would die. She told me she could help because I looked strong to fight the pain that I would be going through for the process and i allowed her. I believe she would had did it any way but she would have killed me before she saved me if I would have refused her help but that is how it began with me. I would love the stories of others who would love to share them please respond and let me here of the way it was for you.

black magic

My father studied black magic for along time and it used to scare the shit out of me especially on halloween. He would bring things into this world you would not believe and for along time i would not even go out on halloween. Because the things he braught into this world was not human I mean one lady was at my window and I could see throught her but I could tell it was a lady she was wearing a black dress and it shimmered and sparkled in the moon light but I wasnt affraid of her then she called for me to come out to meet her I started to and my mom came in and told me no and then told her to leave but I wanted her to stay but she left then my mom told me never to go out when my father was reading his books that night. Well iI took my fathers books when he was drunk and I found a story of a lady who could turn people into immortals and I started reading it and then the lady returned to my window and smiled at me well I went and open the window to talk to her and she said she would return when she thought i was ready for the change to immortallity. And to think of it she looked just like the one who turned me I wander if it is the same lady.

HALLO'EVE

It's Halloween the kids all shout,
Time for 'Trick or Treat' time to get out.

They are happy, for to them it's fun,
But I wonder if they know how it begun?

With burning witches and satanic verse,
Screams in death and the final curse.

Pagan and Wiccan now at peace,
Joining together for the End Of Summer Feast.

A tradition now global that Ireland started,
Feast of the Dead for those now departed.

In many a guise and name it came,
So lets just wish the world a happy Samhain.

Poem number 2

"Casualty of war"

I am an Orphan,
In a barren wasteland,
A place of war,
A place of death,
But I am alive.
Some how I was spared the pain,
Of hot, Screaming bullets,
Ripping into my brain.
Every where, I see death;
The grim reapers paradise.
In this place of war,
This place of death.
Yes, I am alive,
But one thought, Forever will remain;
That hot, screaming bullets,
Still could rip through my brain.

The devil sat in his royal hall
And about on either hand
Was many a demon tall,
The greatest of all underland

Sat Abaddon with his horned head
Andras with his angelic wings
Azazel hairy and Pruflas the owl
And many others who looked a bit inbred

And through the blood stained windows came a sight
From over the red tiled eaves
This beamed blazing with a colored light
On rusted helms and dirty greaves

But a sudden silence was upon everyone
In the midst the was no sound
For into the hall strode a being like the sun
Flying high above the ground

Her nose was perfect, her eyes were sharp
Her locks were white and clean
Upon her breast she held close a golden harp
To them she was a fearful sight

And so with sweeping wings she came
And landed before Satans throne
Quoth Andras, ‘Lash her with flame
All the way to the bone’

’ O mighty Satan! Of thee I ask
A boon on a bended knee
‘Twas thus she spoke.’ What is my task’
Quoth Satan ‘of thee?’

Quoth she ‘I have a foul disease
Doth gnaw my very heart
And but on thing can bring me ease
Or cure my bitter smart’

‘There is no rest, no ease for me
North, east, or west, or south
Till one who is foul will willingly
Thrice kiss me on my mouth

‘Nor wedded to demonese have been
that give ease to me
Nor may he be constrained, I ween,
But kiss me willingly

‘So is there one here in dark of night
Of such noble strain
That he will give a tortured wight
Sweet ease of immortal pain?’

‘ Not me for sure’ quoth Liars King
‘T’would only a lie be
Else would I deem it a noble thing
To kiss thee willingly’

‘Now Abaddon, in hells sight
Thou art the head and chief
Of darkness and gloomy night
And give her quick relief’

But Abaddon he turned aside
And looked upon the ground,
For it did sting his haughty pride
To hear them laugh around

‘Come thou, Merihim’ Quoth the King
Quoth he, ‘It cannot be,
For heaven would of this sing
For me to do it willingly’

‘Wilt thou, Pruflas, thou scornful blight?’
Quoth Pruflas,’Nay, by my troth!
What devil seed would kiss this night
That kissed so pretty a mouth?’

‘Wilt thou, Kobal?’’I cannot my King
‘Nicor?’’Nay not I;
My kisses no relief could bring
For sooner would I fry’

‘Then up and spake the ugliest of the clan
Of all about the board,
‘Now such relief as a demon can
I’ll give to her, my lord’

It was Samael, the demon of night
Yet strong of limb even though old
With hooves gleaming so very bright
As finest bars of gold

Quoth Pruflas, ‘He hath no demonese yet
That he may call his own,
But there is one that’s quick to get
As she herself has shown’

He kissed her once, he kissed her twice
He kissed her three times o’er
A blackened swirl did arise
And she was a beauty no more

Her cheeks grew black and terrible to see
Her brow two horns did grow
Her bosom from brazier did bust free
From her eyes all hatred did flow

Her breath grew fetid as a cemetery breeze
That blows from rotting flesh
Her voice grew harsh like the breaking of trees
Like times of old in Kesh

Her hair grew ragged and old
Her hands lumpy like curled milk
Her gossamer gown no longer of gold
Were changed to ripped and torn red silk

In great amaze the demons did stare
Quoth Pruflas,’ I make my vow
If it will please thee, lady heir
I’ll gladly kiss thee now’

But the death dealer bend on one knee
And kissed her robes in the night air
‘O let me be thy slave’ said he,
For none to compare’

She was Lillith, demonese of wind and storm
The jewel of hells halls in disguise
All demons, devils in female form
The fatal power of all that flies

She bent down and kissed his brow
She kissed his lips and eyes
Quoth sh’ Thou art my master now,
My lord, my love arise!
And all the power that is mine own,
My hands, I give to thee,
For never demon hath demonese shown
Such noble courtesy

‘Trickery it was and true bit of a pain,
But thou hast given to me
That which all others only scorn would gain
I give myself to thee’

A short, short story.

A dark soul am I yet you put into me a light so pure. My heart slowly purified by the love you made me feel. In my dark oblivion I am blinded by what you have given me. I feel its warmth, comforting glow. Please do not take it away from me yet let me for eternity hold such a light that you give to me. Shine your love into my dark abyss. So you can see my vampyric heart beat.

Dying

Passing beyond the shadow
Into a purer light,
Stepping behind the curtain,
Getting a clearer sight.

Laying aside a burden,
This weary mortal coil,
Done with the world’s vexations,
Done with its tears and toil

Tired of all earth’s playthings,
Heart-sick and ready to sleep,
Ready to bid our friends farewell,
Wondering why they weep.

Passing out of the shadow
Into eternal day;
Why do we call it dying…
This sweet going away?

Never stopped loving you

Before you go I want you
To know that I love you
And that I’ll never stop cause
In your arms, my lover
I feel better than all others
I may not be able to keep you forever
But I hope you always remember
Me whilst you sleep and never ever
Weep when I shan’t sleep cause
I’m always thinking about you
Where could we go when were older
And if I’m sad can I cry on your shoulder
I may not be able to keep you forever
But I hope you always remember
Me whilst you sleep and never ever
Weep when I shan’t sleep cause
I’m always thinking about you

My 2nd story if the one above counts.

In a time of better humanity did the truest beings exist. In a plane of bliss even though there were many battles fought. A time of honour and chilvary, rules of the old code prevailed. Knights of lore fought man and beast, friend and foe. Allies of the strangest decent join together for all species. How different it all was. The greatest of all ages. An era where night was as common as day to humanity. There was no hiding in the shadows, only pure luck. How the means of tracking and finding were more attuned to nature. The being is so frail yet so strong. The spirit held such comforts that this world can no longer desire. Where did this become lost in our pitiful existance? We shall never know. This tale is in and of this time. A vast stretch of land without clutter of humans but for miles bare with trees and foliage. Where animals ruled their own land. No kings or tyrants ruled here, just nature. Elves, gnomes, dwarves, minotaurs, mermaids, unicorns, and such roamed free without fear or care.

But I must start the tale before I continue to ramble of a place I wish I could return to. Now where to begin? I know the perfect place to start. When the first king arrived to rule humanity. This was a very brave and perhaps foolish man, to try and tell free people that they need a ruler after all this time. Imagine the difficulty in this process. Mankind beared arms to battle for the cause of freedom for the first time. Fear developed quickly in its birth. The first time it was felt and it was feared more and it continued to grow. It has never stopped growing to this present day. The worst thing to ever happen to our world.

How much can a soul hold? The universe. It's what fear destroys in us all. The soul slowly tatters into nothing and this was what allowed a king to emerge. When a man fights all of mankind, you know he has already accepted the concept of fear. What an advantage to have. Those who first feared him became his personnal army. Blood spilled over the earth in bright crimson and deep garnet. Many souls ended up in purgatory with no chance of leaving. Poor souls of the innocent they were and rivers of tears were wept in their memory. Soon vast oceans sprang from small seas. The earth forever stained. This new king brought down upon the people rules with no cause and a demand to build houses came. No one under his rule would sleep beneath the night sky. The forests started to suffer and as time passed the creatures also were ruled. Their homes suddenly taken from them without permission brought about the distrust towards humans.

How the world changed. A band of humans moved into the forest deeps and vowed to stop the changes forced upon them. They became man's first knights and from these men came the code. Chilvary and honour sprang forth in the couragous attempt to stop evil. Never before has such nobility been shown. Fear stole their breath but to fight brought forth their heart, souls, and mind. It took time to prepare for such a battle and the king's greed grew. When the knights took arms for battle, the king was unprepared. He controlled his forces like the rest and disbanded their usage. They became mercenaries that anybody could hire. The knights tried to obtain the money to buy their services with no prevail. Deciding that they were of no direct threat, the knights began to battle. The king seeing that he was an easy target had to pay now for his army. After paying most of the mercenaries, did he feel safe. They were there to protect him. What was not known was that some of these paid men dispised the king and wanted him dead. Allied with the knights they became. How greed and power spread amongst these mercenaries. When they defeated the king, they then began to fight amongst themselves as to who should claim the throne. The allianced, peaceful world split into pieces. How fragile is this land? Very breakable I believe.

All of humanity had torn this ripple in time. The feelings of want, anger, revenge, and unfulfillment arose. Fear swept the people and honour was stretched thin. The world now knew despair. I must turn my face away from this, it pains me so. Of all that could have happened, this was unknown to even the greatest of seers. Now man wanted to rule everything. The mortal heart has shown its weakness. People who harnessed the magicks began to search for a means to change this wrong. Instead of finding an answer they made things worse. Out came an even darker being and many angels fell. They fell from the heavens because they aided these users. They now feel humanity yet are not human. Cursed for eternity. Many wanted death like their vessels. Forever they were to live with an insatiable hunger for those they tried to save. Hunters of the flesh they now were. How the nights became frightful, for these fallen angels saw in the dark. The daylight they hated for it stung them so. Soon those fallen claim acceptance to their hunger and began nightly hunts. There were times that whole villages were wiped out. At that point, a few began to realize that they were devouring too many that were not necessary. These began to quit hunting more than needed and began to teach a code into their kind. This became the code of honour for the new species, the vampyres they became known as. They were feared and idolized. They ruled this world now and they never even tried to gain such power. How did they do it? Man gave it up out of fear. No they thought they were better than all because they used to be angels. So egotistical they were. What a moronic way to think. They are outcasts, not gods. Angels bah. How good of angels they must have been to be thrown down in such an unhonourable way. Weaknesses they have are unfathomable. There are very few of them. Some were capable of daywalking. O those were the lucky ones of their kind. They were a rarity and mankind had better be thankful for that.

How does demons exist? Blame the spell-casters. Why? They created them. Why are you angry? Because they should have never been that involved in their magicks to not see what they were doing. Now instead of the light they brought our world its true darkness. Never before have I seen such beings. We even now have those that look human but they hunger for our blood. What else came from this? O so many terrible things including what the people have called lycans. Such a silly name. They are like nothing in this world. I know of no one who wants their curse, yet both lycans and vampyres can make us like them. Wait who am I kidding. I am not a mortal human. A fallen angel I am. Never should I have tried to help. Now I pay a terrible price. O why did I tell you what I am. Now you will only fear me or try to be like me. No one should want my curse. To forever hunger that which is forbidden. I am no animal, I eat not for survival. I do because the thirst drives me to it. I am like a shark, the smell of blood drives me into a frenzy. I am now a monster. Lycans our daylight protectors until they feel like we use them and never give them any credit. How much credit do they want? We house, clothe, feed, and comfort them. What should be their payment is what I ask? I have befriended them and they have turned against me. I am hunted for my kindness. Wars all over. Man against man. Man against these new monsters. Lycans against vampyres. I care. I care too damn much. Forever will I not trust fully, if at all. Damn my fall and damn my landing. I hate this world, I never should have tried to save it. No one even bothers to thank me for helping. How much effort does it take. O well I wouldn't approach me either. So much blame do they share of mine, so much revenge and hatred do I harbour.

The teachings were simple in a sense. They gave rules and laws for our kind. ironic how we are not free anymore and start to have self-proclaimed kings of our own. Those foolish lycans. They create a mess and we are to clean it up. Blood everywhere and everywhere blood. The world's newest killers we all are. I befriend all of these new monsters and fallen one's. My heart still feels divine love for this pathetic world that I exist in. I wish I could turn back time so I did not have to follow this path. The mortals are trying to find our weakness. They do not realize that even if they kill our vessel, we return in another. To hell with this illusion they have built. My heart slowly grows cold and I know what I must do. I proclaim my rule over them. Let them cower before me, because they do not appreciate the sacrifice I made for them. Ungrateful they are. I must apologize for my anger. In the beginning I was so passionate and now I resent all that I felt so much for. This world has turned its back on me. Even those monsters, demons, and lycans have. Hard to digest all at once. War we are at and there are no alliance amongst us. As some vampyres make evil legions in order to control everything. It sickens me so. This is why we fell and they are doing it. We were the reason that what you know call mythical creatures are extinct. We, the damned, took away the world's innocence. We made his world like ourselves, damned. How are hatred took us beyond our own comprehension. Ironic it all is. Murderers we are called. We are killers with no regrets. I wish to be mortal. To be able to die peacefully. Never will I rest, nor will my thirst ever be quenched. I should have known better than to involve myself into mortal lives. To bad I cannot turn back time. Yes, I know that I have already stated that. Still I wish. Why must I go through this? I only tried to do good and I am banished in this hell. No, wait, hell would be so much nicer. It's a shame that I would wish for hell.

A CONVERSATION WITH THE ANGEL OF DEATH ON ALL HALLOWS EVE
OR
MY MIND
AS IT APPEARS TO ME TO BE AS EMPTY AS
MY SOUL

I lay there upon the bed of my past and in the silence of that cold winters day, with the snow gently falling and gathering itself into the corners of my windows, as it softly sets itself upon the frozen ground and swirls around in a mild confusion building upon each flake until drifts begin to form against the wooden picket fences of neighboring dwellings, as I lay there and contemplate the life I have lead, with all of it’s sorrows and sparse moments of joy and elation, I began to realize that I was not alone.
There is an overpowering energy moving around me. At a time I think it is laying there next to me and then I sense it at the foot of my bed, and then again directly over me and just as quickly as I blink my eyes, standing by my side and then standing by the windows. I’m not afraid or intimidated by it’s presence, I know who and what it is. I’ve been waiting for it, just as it now waits for me.
Possibly my awareness of it’s lingering is what causes it to move about, waiting, biding it’s time, for that’s all it has is time. I find myself laughing without reason, but if there reason were, then let it be one towards acknowledgement of both my immediate circumstance and it’s intent of purpose as it waits in restless anticipation.
I sense its uneasiness as it watches me and knows that I am aware. But I am not afraid, for I have been waiting for him for so very long, and now he is here as we play a final game of cat and mouse.
“Does my lingering bother you…Death. It is Death, is it not? You need not be evasive my friend, I know you are here and waiting. But would you be so kind as to remain in one place and not move about so much…it can be annoying to say the least.”
He did not utter a sound but did just as I asked and remained steadfast by the windows.
“Thank you, it was becoming a task trying to keep up with you. Tell me if you would be so kind…how did one such as yourself get stuck with such an…immense duty such as this?”
There was still no response from my newly arrived friend. It didn’t bother me that he chose to remain silent, I had not really expected him to acknowledge me for that wasn’t his job at all, but instead, to watch and wait and move me from this dwelling when the opportune time had arrived, that was his labor, and nothing more.
“You wouldn’t mind very much if I had a smoke then would you? No I suppose you wouldn’t at that. You don’t make it very easy for someone to get to know you do you? No I suppose that isn’t part of your job criteria either is it? No matter, you have your orders; I would guess that that is all that matters anyway isn’t it?
Funny thing this waiting, I mean if you look at it from my point of view at least, I’m sure you’re quite used to it by now…yes well, anyway…the smoke doesn’t bother you does it? No I guess not. Hey, I was wondering, do you guys keep files on us, you know, good deeds, bad deeds, undecided? I always wondered if you had a look before you came around and collected your pound of flesh. Oh, I don’t mean to be so sarcastic, after all it is a job, and it is necessary, but I was just wondering if you bothered to read up, you know, get a little background on them, try to understand them a bit before you made your collection. No, probably not. It doesn’t really matter I suppose after all we’ve already been judged, doesn’t matter what you may think, if you think about anything at all. But aren’t you allowed to carry on a conversation with the soon to be deceased? I mean after all it’s only fair you know. Still nothing to say? Well then couldn’t you at least show yourself? You know I’m aware of you. Oh, never mind I guess you’ve got your rules to follow don’t you? Yea, well…hey how about I tell you a little bit about me anyway. Lets see…Well to start…I’m not really a bad guy, never was actually, as a matter of fact I was a boy scout of sorts. But that was only for the first eighteen years of my life; everything after those eighteen was a cacophony of both relevant and irrelevant soundscapes of meaningless meanderings of a young man experiencing the noise of life as it truly is outside of his shell of existence.
Quiet still are we? None the matter my quiescent friend, I shall chatter my soliloquy to the very walls that bind my soul to this place and my soul has yet to hit bottom from whence the precipice it did try to jump across but alas has fallen into and is now sailing through the dark abyss of time. But you already know that don’t you? Of course you do. Tell me then, oh silent one, why do you not take the chance to speak and break the chain of pre-determined events? Answer me that will you. What do you fear hmm…you who should fear nothing but the loss of that which you have come to collect?
Can you smell the air? Can you taste the sweetness that lies within it? I think not, and because I think such impossibility are you jealous of my human heart? No of course you aren’t, just thought I’d ask regardless.
Do you have a rulebook with the can and can’t do’s written in it? You amaze me to no end do you know that? I mean, you don’t question as to why or how…you just…do what is commanded of you and to hell with everything else. Interesting. You know I think Satan had the right idea. Question authority and deduce for self the difference between right and wrong. After all he was an angel of light wasn’t he? He just decide that sometimes things aren’t so cut and dry…that the world wasn’t just seen in black and white, that there was color and vibrancy to it and that heaven wasn’t all that it was cut out to be. I guess he was a sort of James Dean, you know, a Rebel without a cause but with an outlook that everyone else chose to reject because he wasn’t politically correct. If you ask me God and the devil are just two spoiled brats playing a game of poker with humanity as the stakes and mans soul as the ultimate prize. I mean…look at it this way, God allowed for the destruction of certain groups of humans in favor of another group simply because of some covenant, some bond of words and favors…tell me what makes him so much more special than Lucifer? What, that man was his creation and the devil had no right to butt in and give people a choice? Would that mean to say that he was a jealous god…didn’t I read that somewhere in the bible…about graven images and his jealousy towards them, seems that he didn’t want any competition in the adoration market huh?
Doesn’t this all seem a bit out of balance to you? Are you that steadfast in your servitude that you can’t see a problem here? I don’t know…I kind of feel sorry for you in a way. All of these centuries, day in day out doing the same thing…don’t you get bored? I mean, is soul collecting really that great of a profession? Still haven’t a thing to say have you? Well at least your consistent I’ll give you that much. But I know you aren’t happy, you’re just afraid to change. AH! Uh huh, there I saw that look…yes, that’s right I’m beginning to see you much clearer now, I suppose my time is drawing neigh, but I did see that look in your eyes. You’re not happy about what you do are you, you’re just too laid back, too set in your ways to change it, too afraid to challenge his decisions, right or wrong as they may be. But I know you now. And if there are others like you who feel the same way then there must be a reason and that reason my friend is that you are beginning to think for yourself, but only when you’re alone in your own consciousness, when you don’t think that he’s listening…or watching. Ha! You’re all living in a hell aren’t you! Too afraid to stand up for yourselves and put him on notice for once?
Ha! Here I am, alone in my life, with no one to see me off and here you are alone in your life with no one to discuss your departure or to converse with once the day is over…but then again it’s never over is it? You’re on call 24/7 aren’t you? Sad, very sad no life outside of collecting souls is there? Ah…ah! There I saw it again, that look in the eyes. You know I’m right don’t you? Of course you do, sure you know. Maybe that’s why you’re so quiet, you know I’m right and there’s no way to defend your position. Is there?
Now our eyes are locked. I can read you like a cheap dime store novel. That’s disgust I see there isn’t it. You’re disgusted, but not with me, with yourself. But its will that you lack isn’t it? Lucifer learned the secret from Adam and gained not only his freedom, but his own following as well. Human kind has will my friend. We can choose the path we want to walk on. We can choose between the two extremes in this life. God or Satan. You know something, and I think you’re well aware of it but you can’t do anything about it. If it weren’t for Lucifer, we, you and I, wouldn’t even be having this conversation. You would be literally out of a job. If it were not for Lucifer, think about this for a moment now, if it were not for Lucifer there would be no balance in the universe. Think about it, if God knew all of this was going to happen then it’s more than obvious that that is the way he wanted it. There I saw it again. The eyes are the mirrors of the soul you can’t hide it, not from me you can’t. You know I’m right…don’t you!
Well it doesn’t matter anyway, he knows my heart, he knew my intentions before I even did, it’s the nature you know, we humans have natures that make us unique. It’s the nature my friend that guides the person, nature and the will to decide and deduce and to choose our own path in this life. You know I really feel sorry for those holy rollers who think that God and Lucifer are as opposite as apples and oranges. They don’t see the big picture like you and I do. You know, that’s the problem with the world today, too many different ways of thinking about God and Lucifer, too many different opinions as to what is right, who is right…you know what I’d like to see, or would have liked to seen…I would really like to have seen the expressions on their faces, everyone who is so damn sure of their faith, their belief in their particular religious doctrines and dogmas, their belief that some man can intercede for them if you kiss his ring and pay a tribute to the church, I would loved to have seen their faces when they finally realize that for so many years their way of living has only been manipulated by greedy men looking for a tax breaks and a little nookie in the back of the rectory. I would have loved to have seen them running around like chickens with their heads cut off when the reality of this existence finally hit home. Don’t misunderstand me, I wouldn’t have laughed at them or anything like that, but I would have really wanted to see what they would have done next. What do you think will happen when the truth finally confronts their beliefs? Hmmm? You say much with your eyes my friend, I can see that you think the same as I think. Mass confusion and anger no doubt. I’m beginning to see you a lot better now the time is getting shorter I know. I’m going to miss this place a bit though; partially because I was born here and partially because I know there was more I could have done for my family but never had the chance to do so. I never got around to repairing that ceiling and installing that basement bathroom either. But at least the rest of this place is decent enough if they want to sell the house.”
“They won’t sell it, they’ll be keeping it for some time to come and their children will continue to carry on the tradition until a time.”
“Ah so you finally speak, I guess it’s about that time then.”
“Yes.”
“Good, I was getting bored just lying there. Tell me something if you don’t mind.”
“I can tell you anything you want to know…now.”
“What’s it like in hell anyway?”
“I thought you didn’t believe in hell or heaven.”
“I don’t really, but what else is there to think about now anyway?”
“How about Life.”
“In what respect my friend. I mean eternal life in either realm can’t account for much now can it?”
“The path you are about to travel is simply another road to a different existence. You shouldn’t have any problem walking upon it, you chatter enough to drive even Lucifer crazy with your ranting.”
“I suppose you’re right my friend.”
“By the way, what did you do for a profession anyway?”
“Oh…you didn’t know? Huh, strange, I guess they don’t tell you everything. Well not that it matters anymore but I was a writer.”
“A writer? You don’t say. Hmmm, interesting. Well I guess this is the last chapter in you book then wouldn’t you say?”
“I didn’t know you guys had a sense of humor about you.”
“Humor or simply sarcasm, what do you think?”
“My friend, Sarcasm is humor with a twist of lemon and bitters nothing more, nothing less. You know, this kind of reminds me of the ending to Casablanca, ever see that movie?”
“Can’t say that I have.”
“Death…this is going to be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.”

I HOPE THIS TIME IT WORKS...IF NOT HEEEEELPPPP PLEASE

The Darkness Within

Darkness looms over lost souls
wandering through oceans of pain.
Entrapped in liquid fire
scalding skin slips off of
shattering bone
while banshee screams
electrify ear drums
and tears dribble endlessly
down charred faces.

This is home.
This is eternity.
This is the Darkness within.

A New Outlook

On the 31st of October, the world takes a transformation. Little children dress up and get to stay out later than they normally would. Parents worry about the amount of sugar thier children are ingesting. Teens think of the best pranks to pull and everyone abandons the norm and becomes something else for one night. This is a story about how one teenage girl changed for that one night and never changed back.

It was a Halloween like no other, lots of candy, costumes, and planning for the best party ever. The only thing that was wrong was the fact that Aria still hadn't figured out what she was going to dress as yet. She still had 4 hours before the guests were to arrive and still no ideas. Picking a costume has always been an issue for her. Every year she would plan out what she was going to be and then 2 days before Halloween she would change her mind. This year she was planning on dressing as a vampire, but gave up on that idea when she saw that her best friend was going to be the same thing. There was no way she could copy her best friend. It was against the rules of friendship. After some thought she decided to throw her cheerleading uniform on and paint her face up to be a zombie cheerleader.

The party began slowly like it always does, some hip music, a few drinks that were snuck in, and very hot guys floating around. Aria walked up to one guy and asked him to dance and when he turned around she realized that she had never met him before. He was the most handsome guy she had ever seen. Long black hair, piercing blue eyes, and the sweetest voice she had ever heard, all hiding under a mask. She wondered who he was and if she had seen him at school before.

Aria danced with him for a bit and then decided to go outside to check and see if the candy bowl needed to be refilled. As she stepped out into the darkness she tripped and fell into a dark hole. She was confused she had never remembered a hole in that part of the yard, but she didn't think too much of it. She started to walk a little bit and when she came into a lightened area she was shocked to see that she was in a catacomb. She started to inch further down the dimly lit path and stopped suddenly when she came to the dead body. Out of the distance she heard that sweet voice call out to her, telling her to conitinue on and to not worry. Continuing on she started to grow more accoustomed to the dead bodies lying around and the pungent smell of blood that was creeping up her nostrils. As she started to come to the end of the hall she could hear music playing softly, as if a ballerina would dance a solo to it. She closed her eyes and started to sway to the music. When she opened her eyes she realized that the music had stopped playing and she was surounded by all the people she called freaks at school.

Standing behind the freaks was the guy she had danced with earlier in the night. He was smiling and you could see the fangs peeking out from his mouth. She started to turn and run but the group came closer to her trapping her. Aria demanded to be let go and threatened to make their lives a living hell. The guy standing behind them simply stated that she had no idea what a living hell was until now. He parted the crowd and stood there holding her in his arms. She looked up at him hoping that he would be the one to rescue her from the freaks, sadly she was horribly mistaken. With a flash of teeth and a swift movement, he sank his teeth into her neck and drank from her. She fell to the ground and started to wimper. He hovered over her and then welcomed her to the freaks way of life.

Aria rose from the ground and looked at him. She smiled and you could see the fangs that were starting to grow. Her sire led her out of the domain and back into the real world. She bid him farewell and went back to her party, with a new look on life and a new hunger to fulfill.

My first entry, more of a story.

John was an honest man for the most part. He had never stolen or killed anyone so he thought of himself as being pretty attractive from a moral perspective. But tonight he was sulking a little, watching while all the other “handsome” men danced with their pretty partners. This was Halloween, anything was possible tonight! He was single and hated it, but he was determined to find a girlfriend when and wherever he could. He was tired of being alone. His best friend, Thomas, came up to him between songs with a cold beer and words of encouragement. "You know man, there are a lot of pretty girls in here tonight," Thomas said. "Dance with one of them already."
Bolstered by his friend's words, he started looking around the dance floor. His eye caught upon a beautiful young girl standing like a wallflower at the edge of the floor. She was dressed in a clingy white dress and her skin was very pale. With dark eyes, she watched the dance floor from behind a broad brimmed hat. Such a lovely woman should be dancing, he thought. And with me!
He made his way through the gyrating crowd and approached the girl in white. She looked startled at his attention, as if she had not expected anyone to notice her that night. But she readily assented to dance with him, and he proudly led her out onto the floor for the some fun, all thoughts of going home alone were gone from his mind.
Thomas and some of his other friends gave him really odd looks as he danced with the girl in white. A few times, the couple dancing them bumped right into them as if they had not seen his partner at all. He was furious and wanted to stop the dance and make them apologize to the girl in white, but she just laughed and shushed him with a finger to his lips.
When the dance was over, he went to get his fair skinned dance partner a drink. Thomas approached him at the bar. "When I told you to dance, I meant with a partner," his friend teased him.
"I was dancing with a partner," he replied, irritated by his friends remark. "The prettiest girl in the bar"
"John, you’re stoned," Thomas replied. "Man I tell you, you were dancing by yourself out there!"
He glared at his friend and turned away without speaking. Making his way back to the girl in white, he handed her a glass and asked her to walk with him outside away from the bar. The night was beautiful, the sky full of stars.
The girl in white turned to him with a sigh and said: "Thank you for the dance. It has been a very long time since I had any fun."
"May I kiss you or at least see you again?" he said hopefully. But she shook her head.
"I must go," she said, catching up her skirts with one hand and walking toward the side of the bar.
"Please don't go," he pleaded, following her.
"I must," she said, turning to look at him. Her eyes softened when she saw the look on his face. "Come with me?" she invited, holding out a pale hand.
His heart pounded rapidly at the thought, this was it, game time. More than anything in the world, he wanted to be with her. And then he quickly realized that he could see the brick wall of the bar through the girl's hand. His desire blasted away before the shock of that realization. He looked into her face again, and realized that she was fading away before his very eyes. At the look of shock on his face, the girl gave a laugh and dropped her hand, which was nearly transparent now. "Goodbye," she said, her body becoming thin and misty. "Goodbye." Then she was gone. John, so torn and confused, didn’t see the truck lights before he was run over in the alley. Some say that if you visit that bar on Halloween night, you will find a couple dancing in the alley that seems not quite real…

History of “Trick or Treating” in America
At the end of the 10th century, the Catholic church tried to give the traditions of a pagan holiday and All Saints Day, observed on November 2, a little more direction by establishing All Souls' Day, an occasion to recognize all Christian dead. It is believed that the celebration during this time is what partially contributed to what happens on Halloween. Another source for the current merrymaking is the British practice of ‘souling,’ when poor people would go door to door receiving food, usually ‘soulcakes’ which were simple bread desserts with a currant topping, in exchange for prayers for the dead on All Souls Day, thus it was believed to help the relatives find their way out of purgatory and into heaven. Current Pagan history teaches that in the British Isles, Celtic children would walk door to door to collect firewood for a gigantic community bonfire to celebrate a festival called Oíche Shamhna, Calan Gaeaf to the Welsh, Allantide to the Cornish and Hop-tu-Naa to the Manx which would be lit to ward off evil spirits. During this ceremony, the revelers would extinguish all the other fires in the village proper. They would then relight the fires with a flame taken from this bonfire, symbolizing the unity of the community. Though this practice was never brought to America formally, the idea of asking for something door to door took root in America with its immigrants from Ireland, who came in large numbers during the Potato Famine of 1845-1849.
In fact, there is no evidence trick-or-treating as it is viewed today was ever done in America prior to 1900. The earliest reference to this occurs in 1915, with another reference in Chicago in 1920. In literature, author Ruth Edna Kelley in her 1919 history of the holiday, The Book of Hallowe'en, makes no mention of such a custom. It does not seem to have become a widespread practice until the 1930s, with the earliest known uses in print of the term "trick or treat" appearing in 1934, and the first use in a national publication occurring in 1939. Early national attention to trick-or-treating was given in October 1947 issues of the children's magazines Jack and Jill and Children's Activities, and by Halloween episodes of the network radio programs The Baby Snooks Show in 1946 and The Jack Benny Show and The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet in 1948. The custom had become firmly established in popular culture by 1952, when Walt Disney portrayed it in the cartoon Trick or Treat, and UNICEF first conducted a national campaign for children to raise funds for the charity while trick-or-treating.
Although some popular histories of Halloween have characterized trick-or-treating as an adult invention, adults of the 40’s typically saw it as a form of extortion; with reactions ranging from bemused indulgence to anger (the "trick" part of "trick or treat" was a threat to prank). Likewise, as portrayed on radio shows, children would have to explain what trick-or-treating was to puzzled adults, and not the other way around. However, in the 19th and early 20th century Ireland it was often much more extravagant — for example, slates were placed over the chimney-pots of houses filling the rooms with smoke and field gates were lifted off their hinges and hung from high tree branches or thrown into ponds.

Here's my second poetry entry. :)

Crying tears of crimson red
I look at my reflection
Everything has changed again
He's left me all alone
My sobs break free once again
And all my breath is lost
I feel my face so pale this night
And bury my head in my hands
I feel the night slip away
And the sun begins to rise
Slowly I walk to my coffin bed
Hoping that today I'll die
I knew when he found out
Just what I really was
That he would leave and not turn back
But I couldn't really know
How much it would hurt
How it could kill inside
The love that I had
For that mortal man
Has made me live the lie
No longer faced with playing a game
I can live the way I should
From now on I am really me
A vampire with out mercy or guilt

Kat watched the others take off in the Limo. She could have asked if they could drop her off at her place, but instead she called for a cab.

"Taxi!!!"

The yellow cab pulled to the curb.

"900 Bistro St please."

The cab took off. Raziel followed with speed not too far form the cab. Being that he was a vampire, his supernatural speed kept the human eye from even detecting he was there.

After about a half hour had past, the cab pulled to the side of the curb.

“That’ll be fifteen dollars miss,”

The cab driver told Kat. Kat handed him the exact change and got out. The cab drove off. Kat looked at her watch. It was almost five AM. She could see the red of the sky as the sun began to rise. She pulled her keys out of her pocket and unlocked the townhouse where she lived. Marcus heard her come in the door.

“Kat I'm in the study."

She heard Marcus call to her. Before she closed the door behind her she felt a slight gust of wind.

“Odd..."

Raziel had come through the door quickly for he knew the sun was coming up and needed to be inside. Even though he knew the suns rays would not harm him as he discovered two centuries ago, he still did not like to be out in the daylight unless he had to. He watched Kat walk into the study and stealthily kept his distance to hear the conversation.

“I’m sorry Marcus but..." Marcus cut her off.

“I trust you have information for me?”

"Yes I do, but I just want to apologize." She was cut off again.

“Kat I'm not going to have this discussion with you again, it does me no good to lecture you about staying out till the butt crack of dawn, and you are going to do what you want to do. Now what information do you have for me?"

Raziel slightly chuckled at Marcus's words. That sounded like Kat all right. Feisty and defiant.

“I meet up with a darksword tonight.” Marcus looked at her as if he knew the name.

"Darksword you say? I haven't heard that name in quite some years, are you sure he was a darksword? "

"Well not exactly." She replied. "He just claimed to be a darksword."

Marcus looked back behind him and looked at the book titles on the shelf, then pulled one out opened it up and flipped through a few pages.

“Did he look like this picture?"

Marcus slid the book towards Kat so she could see the picture. Kat's eyes lit up as she saw the picture.

“Yes that's him, that's Zach. But how come his picture is in this book?"

"He is part of one of the few slayer families out there. He could be of use to us. My, my you did stumble on a great catch didn't you?"

Raziel then stepped into the study.

“Not as much of a find as I got Marcus, or should I say Dr. Van Helsing."

Marcus looked up and saw Raziel, son of Vlad the Impaler Drakul and stood up from the desk.

“How did you get in here?”

Kat looked behind her and saw the mystery man in the doorway. Memories of the dream she had every night flooded into her mind. The man standing before her in the doorway looked like the very same man from her dreams.

“You look like the man from my dreams, you seem familiar to me but I don't know why?"

“You will in due time my dear Kat."

Raziel's eyes sparked with desire for her, too long it had been since he was with his love, but she still did not remember him.

“I am in need of your help Dr."

"Why would I help you? I spent a millennium hunting your father Vlad down after what he did to me. "

"Ahh yes I do wonder how you have kept yourself alive for so long. How do you do it professor? Come now you can't hide the truth from Kat forever now can you?"

Kat looked at Marcus.

“What is he talking about Marcus, and why did you call you Dr Van Helsing?"

Marcus sat back down and put his hands to his forehead.

“Yes it's true I am Dr. Van Helsing, I have searched for a very long time looking for Vlad to end my cursed life. I keep myself alive by drinking the blood of the vampires I slay."

Raziel smiled, ~ soon the real truth will come out and Kat will come to me. ~ Marcus looked at Kat.

“I’m sorry Kat...."

Kat ran out of the study and up to her room.

"Now Dr., down to business. I have a slight problem that I need to take care of and it pertains to my twin brother Ira. What do you say; will you help me be rid of my twin brother Ira? After all it seems fitting that he be punished for Taking my dear Kat and selling her to the Anubis clan."

"URRGG!!! You give me no choice, what do I get in return Raziel? Do I get the peace I so deserve by slaying your brother? Turns out that my curse is not from your father Vlad, I read in the underground vampire chronicles that he has been slain by the clan of Cain."

Raziel turned wide eyed and then his eyes narrowed with fury. He lunged for Marcus and held him by his neck high above the ground.

"You speak blasphemy Doctor. Is there proof that he is dead?"

Marcus pointed to a newspaper clipping that had fallen onto the floor. Raziel released Marcus and bent down to pick up the clipping from the floor. Raziel read, while Marcus rubbed his neck. Raziel read that Vlad had been vicious in targeting of Cain’s business and power base and crossed the line when he recently tried to have Demetre assassinated in the Lord’s own home. Vlad was in turn executed in his home along with his closest supporters by an unknown creature. Raziel crumpled the paper in his hand, his eyes turned red with anger but slowly he calmed as he rationalized with himself.

~ That would explain why Ira has come out of hiding, he wants to take charge of the clan. But I was firstborn, I am the rightful heir, and I will set things right with Clan Cain, I will see that the wrong doings of my father will be fixed. ~ He turned to Marcus.

“Now you see why I need to get rid of Ira? If Ira were to gain control of the Clan, he would abuse it and would do anything he could to take out any member of any Clan to be head of the council. He was always the evil one, worse than my father Vlad himself. He did the unthinkable and sold my beloved Kat to the Anubis clan, and for what gain? And I was unable to stop him. What would happen if he were to be in control now, who would stop him? I have heard rumors he has Lucifer backing him with any power he so desires even having the means of calling upon demons for servitude. Help me Doctor, help all of vampire kindred, Ira has something devilish in store for us all."

Marcus ponders Raziel's words for a moment. Yes it would seem that now that Vlad was out of the picture there was no one that could keep Ira in check.

“I will see what I can do. Perhaps this Darksword that Kat stumbled upon will help us. Now as for what will I get in return for helping Raziel? "

“What do you want doctor? Name it and I shall do what I can to provide it."

"Oh in due time Raziel I will have an answer for you, come you must rest I have a place in the basement that will suit you well."

Marcus said to Raziel as they began their walk down towards the basement.

“So how did you come to find Kat Dr.?” Raziel asked.

"I found her roaming the clubs, living the streets drinking the blood of rats to stay alive, I have found she does not like to drink the blood of humans for some reason unless she has to, and even then she takes very little of them. I convinced her to stay with me and kind of adopted her as if she were my own daughter."
He chuckled. ” Funny how she kind of resembles my own daughter in spirit."

Raziel frowned at that remark, he knew of how Van Helsing's daughter had died. He watched the whole thing as a young lad from a distance as his father took the life of Dr Van Helsing’s daughter. This then
began a war between his father and the doctor.

"Indeed Dr, indeed but Kat has her own fiery spirit."

" Hmmm very true, I can see why you are attracted to her. But anyhow she knew nothing of where she came from so I taught her the ways of a slayer."

Raziel was not pleased with the Dr in that aspect. How many had Kat slain of their kind? He only hoped it were the scum that were changed for the mere fun of it. He hated those types of vampires. They knew nothing of the gift they were given.

“Dr. I need you to make an arrangement for me. I need a meeting with the leader of Clan Cain."

" Hmmm I don't know how I would manage that, but I will send an email
out asking for a meeting. Here we are."

Raziel looked around and saw it was just like a normal bedroom. " Do you usually have this here as a safe haven for vampires Dr?"

" No this is just someplace for me to come to when I wish to be alone."

Raziel sniffed the air; he knew better, the place smelled of vampire blood, as if it was a place used for interrogation.

“I bid you a good night Raziel." Marcus returned up the stairs and back to his study. He turned on the computer, and opened up his email and began the process of send an email to Cain for a meeting.

~ Cain,

I have someone in my home that is of some interest to you. He wishes a
meeting with you. Please reply with your response.

Marcus ~

Now he could only wait.
------------------------------------------------------

Cain's secretary read over the email and quickly typed out a response
after mentally linking with the elder to advise him of the piece.

------------------------------------------------------

Before Marcus had retired for the day, he heard a beep from his computer indicating that he had received an email. It was from Cain.

~Marcus,

There are many of interest to me as you well know I have many that would like to see my ashes scatter to the winds. Give me a name and a reason that this individual requests a meeting and I'll see if such can be arranged. Until then he will have to cool his heels as they say in America.

Cain~

Indeed, I bet you do. Marcus thought to himself and sat back down at his desk to write a reply.

~ The person of interest that I have in my home is that of Raziel Drakul, one of the sons of Vlad. He has found out that his father has been slain, but has no ill will towards you. In fact he wishes to amend the sins of his father and make the blood ties between clan Cain and Drakul whole again.

Marcus ~

Marcus then got up from his desk and walked down the hallway towards
his room stopping by the kitchen to grab a bottle of bloodwyne. It was the drink of choice these days. He then retired to his room.

Here are my two poems.

Samhain

Leaves drifting in the breeze
Colors changing as they fall
There is a chill in the air
Collars are turned up

Blankets snuggled into at night
In hope that it will ward off the coming cold
You break out warmer clothing
And pack away lighter things til next year

Samhain decorations are brought from storage
Jack-o-lanterns lovingly carved
Everything is bought in preparation
Of this joyous holiday

Children gleefully count down the days
Selecting costumes with care
Making sure their makeup matches
Gathering bags to place the goodies in

The big night finally arrives
Faces are painted, wings are affixed
Goodies are readied, bags are handed out
And away we go!

"Trick or treat!" we chorus at each door
And like magic, our bags are filled
Til at last, footsore and happy,
We find ourselves home again

Tumbling gratefully into bed
To dream of next year.

~Kowe 09/02/07

Sensuous Twilight

Deeper than twilight, your eyes draw me in
Sexier than Vin Diesel, your smile beckons
Abandoning all restraint, I follow you
Out beyond reach of the light

Fangs glint for a split second
As your decadent mouth lowers to my throat
A pinprick of pain, then a waterfall of pleasure
Sweeps over me, taking me away

I arise in the moonlight
A wraith of my former self
Eyes following you hungrily
Like a wolf on the prowl

From the shadows I entice you
To embrace your darker side
Your sensual abandon
Come to me, be free, little one.

The cycle continues.

1: hollow eve

Motto:“I will lift the stone
As Mary lifted it for her Son,
For substance, virtue, and strength;
May this stone be in my hand
Till I reach my journey’s end.”

… in the eve, God or whatever you wish to name it
caresses your hair softly
and lays in front of you
the imagination
the electricity and the computer screen
and make you believe

you just suffered a little in your dream.

you write a little poem
and you carry on,
you read a little Poe maybe
and listen some soothing gaelic tune wondering outside your doors
and you think you will pass over it
But the Moon from this night it`s unlike every other one.
She just turns you back to the same day from the ancient past:
you follow some steed made of ashes
hunted by the bonfires lit by the fairies
you hang some jack-o-lanterns to make your dear shadows remember you
and spit you out from the lips of Morrigan, the goddess
maybe drink some ale or a potion

so you can you curve your time

and there you walk
on the old ways
trying to cut your own fingers so you can`t write
because only the whispers can pass onward the Riddles
trying to refuse your own head
if you`re not ready to baptize yourself with water
trying to change it with a headstone
you in front of you - a stranger
hidden inside
in the candle of the inner monastery
to survive these dark ages to come
hidden in your lantern, to glow with
unspoken silence
to be born again
…and again
…end again
…the end is pregnant with a beginning

but your eyes hurts when you try to embrace all that light
emerged from the darkness
and you know you must wait, silently, because…

…in the eve, God
caresses your hair softly
and lays in front of you
the computer screen
and make you believe…

2: The Tale

Once upon a time
He took me by the hand
To show me the shadows.
He was old
And the earth was hardly spinning
Around him.
He blessed the and the blonde sirens
that float in my sentimental aquarium.
He showed me the big-bellied gnomes,
greedy after their green sheets.
He warned me to stay off a tree
With masks and jack-o-lanterns hanged on it`s branches.
He promised me: the animals are more beautiful in the chase
Than in their golden cages.

Since that eve he plays chess on the stars board.

Since that evening I bury my beloved ones
In my heart, without the sedative called agony,
Beyond the colossal glaciers.
Since that time it hunts me the light of a black sun.
“Beware the masquerade!”he repeated,
With his eye balls injected with black and white rhombs.
Now, I don`t even know in what cage I`m trapped
And in what moment the chess board has covered me.
I am lost in another tale.
But I remember well
That once, he took me by the hand
To show me
The shadows…

I
did not returned.

No matter how many times your cut down....How many times your skin is torn.....How many times your bones get crushed.....You always come back to life......

But the pain is always the same.

And every time your are killed, you taste it again and again.....

That same horrible suffering.....That same agonizing pain......

How tragic.

Eternal agony, with no death to put and end to it.

A pitiful monster....

A pitiful....

Wretched monster.

Short Story Contribution #1

The Choosing

We have gathered here on this hallowed eve. We are many. Bold in our finest colors we stand shoulder to shoulder. Nurtured this long year, we have grown strong and hearty. Many have not reached this eve. Many were not fit to proceed. The weak and scrawny have been sent away as befits the tradition. In time the ceremonies will commence and we who remain will face - The Choosing.

The Choosing is the first real step in our path to legend. Not everyone will pass this ceremony. Some of us will be left behind to die and our useless corpses will be thrown away to rot or to be food for the ravens. You may look on that as barbaric or callous but such is The Choosing...it is an honor to make it even this far. The Choosing is a great and powerful ceremony - a night that we have looked towards as the very reason for our existence. Greater honor awaits those in this crowd who pass The Choosing. Greater horrors await as well...greater horrors and certain destruction. We have been told what the future holds for those who pass The Choosing. We know what this evening will mean for those with the strength and core to continue. We have prepared ourselves for pain and the end of life that follows tonight. This is our purpose and we are proud to follow in the footsteps of those before us.

Our duty has been passed down from time immemorial. We will fight the good fight and die for our cause. Our sacrifice will keep the evil spirits at bay. We will die in horrible ways but it will not be in vain. Our maimed and tortured corpses will stand as warning to those who seek to do evil. Our disfigured and distorted forms will evoke an inner light and say, "No! - Evil did not pass this evening." We will stand watch over those who choose us and we will protect them with our very lives. Stabbed and disected to the very last of us. So it has been for ages...so it will be tonight.

Prepared for The Choosing, we stand ready at attention, quietly awaiting the words of commencement. No words are spoken among the ranks. No movement can be made. We are chosen not for what we are but for what we can become and it takes a special eye to perceive that power that lies within each one of us. An eye that must be able to look beneath the skin. An eye that must be able to see us - past our very core - past our guts and into the light within us. What that light will illuminate is different for every one of us but if it is special it will be seen...and it will be chosen. The words of commencement begin.

"Ladies and gentleman...the Pumpkin Patch is open. Please point out your chosen pumpkin or 'Jack o' Lantern to be' to one of our sales staff and we'll ring you up for it and bring it round to your car. We also have a selection of carving tools and scoops to remove the core available at the register"

It has begun. Glory be...The Choosing has begun.

Halloween is here
and
Night approaches....
Bat wings, newt
and
Yummy cockroaches.

The cauldron is lit,
the brew will soon boil
One last ingredient
some grave-yard soil.
Kids hear my warning
You've got to Beware...
There's more than just costumes
that can give you a scare.

Hear this command
and
Take some advice...
There's people out there
Who Aren't very nice.

NO CANDY FROM STRANGERS
is still the best rule,
You've heard it for years
from
Mom, Dad and school.

So gather your friends
and
Stay in a pack
Leave treats in your bag
Until you get back!

It needs to be looked at
and
Found to be Safe,
BEFORE
You partake in feeding your face.

The cauldron is boiling
my spell is now done,
Be SAFE this year and Have Lots of FUN!

The second

Creeping in slowly
the fog starts to show,
the sky over town
begins to glow.

Folk start to change,
I must run and hide
to the cave in cliff
I'm safe inside.

Why am I different?
I feel no need.
I hide in fear,
while the vampires feed.

When daylight returns,
I remain hidden from sight,
their ritual continues
through Halloween Night

When the sky changes colors
be very aware,
they like their dinner
extremely rare.

Trick or Treaters,
a delicious delight,
leave with punctures....
their skin pasty white.

Kids act sickly,
their folks blame sweet snacks.....
But we know the truth,
'Twas the vampire attacks.

Alone I sit on the top of a hill
Thinking of how my unlife has been
Of the pain and the sorrow I've seen
In the eyes of my victims before they lay still.

Though a hunter in darkness I must be
The feelings of guilt always come back
When I sink my teeth in a women's neck
My conscience is the only light left in me.

All I want is to leave the shadows behind
And truly this time I will
For I no longer desire to kill
Thoughts of light are now on my mind.

I'm waiting for the sunrise today
On the lonely hill where I sit
And maybe, I'll catch a glimpse of it
Before the wind blows my ashes away.

Invocation Of The Dark Goddess
Hear me child, and know Me for who I am. I have been with you
since you were born, and I will stay with you until you return to Me
at the final dusk.

I am the passionate and seductive lover who inspires the poet to dream.
I am the One who calls to you at the end of your journey. After the day
is done, My children find their blessed rest in my embrace.

I am the womb from which all things are born.
I am the shadowy, still tomb; all things must come to Me and bare their
breasts to die and be reborn to the Whole.

I am the Sorceress that will not be ruled, the Weaver of Time, the
Teacher of Mysteries. I snip the threads that bring my children home
to me. I slit the throats of the cruel and drink the blood of the
heartless. Swallow your fear and come to me, and you will discover
true beauty, strength, and courage.

I am the fury which rips the flesh from injustice.
I am the glowing forge that transforms your inner demons into tools of
power. Open yourself to my embrace and overcome.

I am the glinting sword that protects you from harm.
I am the crucible in which all the aspects of yourself merge together
in a rainbow of union.

I am the velvet depths of the night sky, the swirling mists of midnight,
shrouded in mystery.

I am the chrysalis in which you will face that which terrifies you and
from which you will blossom forth, vibrant and renewed. Seek me at
the rossroads, and you shall be transformed, for once you look upon my
face, there is no return.

I am the fire that kisses the shackles away.
I am the cauldron in which all opposites grow to know each other in
Truth. I am the web which connects all things.

I am the Healer of all wounds, the Warrior who rights all wrongs in
their Time. I make the weak strong. I make the arrogant humble. I raise
up the oppressed and empower the disenfranchised. I am Justice
tempered with Mercy.

Most importantly, child, I am you. I am part of you, and I am within
you. Seek me within and without, and you will be strong. Know me.
Venture into the dark so that you may awaken to Balance,
Illumination, and Wholeness.

Take my Love with you everywhere and find the Power within to
be who you wish.

i would say get stuff in by the 24th just to be safe

Sahahria edit: The first post says the 25th at midnight eastern standard time... so for those of you on the pacific coast that is 9pm on the 25th. In England it is 5am on the 26th.

Hopefully that helps with the time confusion

I step along the alleyways of my city,
One foot in front of the other,
A cat prowling the night.
Only I'm not looking for a mouse to placate
My insatiable hunger.
The thrill of the chase seeps into my
Old, old bones.
I feel young again,
Almost as young as I appear.
I feel alive again.

I stop, frozen in time
As a young woman, a girl, steps near my alley.
I see her young face in the glow of flame
As she stops and lights a cigarette.
No 3-on-1-match tonight,
But unlucky for her nonetheless.
She glances up, seeing nothing.
Am I really here?
I step into the pool of light
Under the streetlamp.
She turns to look at me,
With a smile.

I return the smile,
With a charm she can't resist,
An offer she can't refuse,
A snake in the grass seducing the mouse.
Like the snake I coil myself around her,
Drag her back into the dark,
Sink my fangs into her tender throat,
And feed.

The visions come fast and warm with the blood
Feeding my mind, my tattered soul,
While giving life to my unliving limbs.
I see her life, as she must have been,
Before I came to snatch her from her cradle.
I see my life, as it must have been,
Before another came to snatch me from my grave.

My repast done, I lift off.
Tattered cloak like wings,
Soaring high over my city,
My night.

I have a question. Are collaberations allowed? If I were to write a story together with another member, could we submit it together?

I would assume, of course, that if it were allowed, that we would split whatever prize we might win between us?

If that were allowed, of course.

The Hell Between Each Breath

Prologue

Life begins with a breath and ends with another, but from the time we are born until the time we die the millions of breaths that we take are experiences in the art of life.
With the first kiss our breath experiences the taste of another, with the next; the passion of hundreds more to come. With a breath we tell a story and with yet another we end it.
But our lives are airs of every emotion; love, lust, hate, deception, depression, joy, suffering and pain, and between each breath there lies a hell of a thousand generations.
A breath…a pause, and then another breath and our lives begin to shape the wonders we may yet tell. Truth and falsehood are carried upon the breath of our words, and the breath of our words can either destroy a soul or save it from it’s own folly.
How wretched I must seem to some, for with a breath I may confound their very existence or inspire their very soul with stern rantings of madness and oddity. But what do I really feel or do I feel at all. Do I consider others feelings or am I just concerned with my own.
In semi-darkness I gaze into a blackened scrying mirror and watch the images of shadows passing through it. Once in a while they stare back and between a breath and a heartbeat they are gone again. Have I become so loathsome, despised and rejected by my own soul?
Another breath, another moment in time suspended once again in an unknown realm of shadow and light only to seek neither nor to be accepted by the very essence of their secrets.
A breath and a thought and another breath and a contemplative gesture of the mind overseeing that which I hold in the palm of my hand…a nothingness surrounded by empty points of expended energy, meaning nothing and hoping for nothing, but just existing and co-existing between breaths.
I have lived, I have loved, and I have shown the way of hidden paths. I have killed and I have healed but I have done it all for them and nothing for my own self.
Now as the dawn of a new breath is inhaled and held, I will begin to take for what I need, for what the spirit desires and for what my soul craves of that which has been held back and suppressed. I will experience all things that have been kept at bay and between each heartbeat, I will know of the Hell between each breath.

I was born Miguel De Sera, in Cordoba Spain, the year of our Lord 1786. My parents were both in a professional field, my father a doctor of medicine and my mother a teacher of the musical arts. I however, found solace in neither of their skills and preferred the company of, shall I say, the less aristocratic. I found the fairer of sex to be quite alluring, especially the moorish women who worked in the homes of the well to do as maids and mistresses to their employers. My mother, so she had told me on numerous occasions, was the daughter of a Spanish lord and Moroccan mother, hence the reason for my mellow tanned skin that drew the attention of every fair Spanish lady and Dame that I crossed paths with. My features drew their gaze almost immediately and there were times I found myself at the point end of a Saber being told to either un-sheath my own or die as a coward. Their wives and daughters needless to say came promptly to my rescue convincing their foolhardy patron that I was but a mere oddity in their sight and nothing more. Their women stroked their egos and allowed them to regain their manhood, as little as what was there to begin with, there by allowing me to proceed on my way un-harmed and in their debt; a debt that was paid in full once their protectors had left on business elsewhere within the realm. Between the ages of nineteen and twenty-five I would hazard to guess that I had probably slept with ninety percent of the women in Cordoba and sired, to the ignorance of their patrons, somewhere in the neighborhood of thirty children, all of whom were raised and revered as the sons and daughters produced from a night of passion and lust between the elated couples. But as life would be, things gradually began to catch up with me. I had, one fine summer evening while in Toledo visiting a friend, been seduced by a rather beautiful and charming woman in her early fifties. I, at the time, was not aware of her standing within the community, neither was I aware that she was the wife of one, Juan Del Moro, a huge political figure that many had hopes would be the next right hand man of the King of Spain. Her name was Carmen Luz and she was the most elegant of women I had ever met, and the most experienced in bed. My rather enhanced physical features immediately drew her awe and enthusiasm. She was in her own bit of heaven when we first bore our nakedness and every evening after that for the next seven days. She taught me how to use what I had been gifted with, and that a woman, even the most practical, deserved to be made love to as if there was no tomorrow. It was on the final evening of our tryst that my life would be forever changed. Where the heaven that I had lived in for twenty-five years would become a living hell that would last for over two hundred.
On my first night in Toledo, the friend I had mentioned earlier invited me to a gathering of a few business associates of his. It was actually a bachelor party of sorts for one of their friends, a young up and coming attorney who had recently become engaged to the daughter of the local magistrate. While we all drank wine and ate the most succulent of pheasant meals I had ever been a party to, conversations gradually began to shift from business to local events; particularly, the recent disappearances of several young women and the murders of several people living either in Toledo or just on the outskirts in the smaller villages which dotted the meticulously manicured landscape of the province. The local law officials were keeping quiet on the details of the murders and literally threatening the very families involved with incarceration or worse, forced relocation to the furthest regions of Spain itself. The latter being almost equated to a slow death from starvation. Speculation was prevalent as to the nature of the murders, everything from an escaped convict who had made his way from the hell of a Seville prison and found that murder was in itself a release for his tortured soul, to a Moor intent on revenge against the Spanish government and it’s treatment of the Moorish population. Not one explanation, or dare I say concoction conceived through the artistically woven fabric of the local constabulary, moved any member of my friends clique to actually believe the given threads of supposition. And what of the missing girls ? Had the same individual or individuals kidnapped them ? Were their bodies to be found somewhere lying among the shade trees or upon the grassy hills or possibly being washed over by quiet brooks screaming out intently to nature to look upon them as they caressed the form of humanity incomplete ?
No, not one had been found, not one. And that I should say frightened the populace more than the recent murders that silenced the voices and hearts of the same.
But on this night, this final interlude between my teacher and lover, I would find out all to well that the murders and the kidnappings were both related. I would be exposed for my folly and imprisoned for a crime I did not commit. I would be turned and to my chagrin, I would become, immortal.

Love is made in ill design
It beats the heart and rapes the mind
It shifts my thoughts to crueler shapes
Stabs my heart to tears of hate
My nightly wishes of love first felt
Become the curse with which I’m dealt
Existing scars on flesh and mind
A moment’s peace I cannot find
I drift and dream through each dark day
Wishing for what lovers may
In loves small cage, the fitting tight
Tormenting thoughts and stifled fight

Kwil...All those question marks should be > marks but someone with edit powers will have to fix that.

All Hallows Eve:

They're about
this night
this darkening twighlight
in ghoulish coterie

apparitions
wicked, wild and wayward
at the gloaming

who and what walks with them this eventide
who and what makes fools of the shadows
egging spirits pride

Shhhh
The last of light dips low
darkness no longer creeps up quiet
but holds us tightly to her breast
and bids us stay indoors

for nightfall brings the danse macabre
parade of fallen souls
the past years dead to wander home
and steal itself a brother
a sister daughter, son or mother
guilty move of passing heartache

Masquerading in their midst are we
the fools parade
the trickery
lit up as demons and phantoms

We lead them not into temptation
but to the city walls
and send the dead
on their way

to wander bog and hillside
dark forest - dampened cave
To leave them to eternity
to lead them back to grave

Second Story Submission:

"Trick or treat."

"Oh and what are you little man...Conak the Barbarian?"

It's barely worth justifying her remark with an answer..."He-man," I say. Bring her back to the task at hand man...don't let this slip away.

"Trick or treat," I say again.

"Aren't you just so cute," she smiles and calls out, "Bernie come look at little Carnak the Barbarian."

"He-Man," I say again.

A groan from inside coupled with the sound of a football announcer indicates that Bernie neither cares nor intends to see my costume. I assume he's not in charge of the candy anyway so I could care less.

"Here you go darling," She says and drops a couple of tiny boxes into my plastic jack-o-lantern bucket. Raisins.

"Oh...raisins." So it's gonna be raisins eh? I don't know what time warp this lady came from but I'm not about to play for raisins. I don't even eat raisins at recess in Mrs. Gimbals class. I'm certainly not going to stand for raisins on Halloween. Candy. CANDY DAMNIT! That's what every person should be handing out tonight and you're insane or stupid if you think there's not consequences for trying to change that. My Now'N'Later is nearly dissolved on my tongue. The need for sugar is crystalizing like rock candy in my muscles. A droplet of sweat forms underneath my He-Man mask.

I keep the Exacto blade in the hilt of my "Live Action Sounds - He-Man Sword". The old lady never sees it coming. Quick as you can say, "stupid Sally Baker eats paste," (and she does) I've managed to bring this unknown defiler of Halloween down to my level and cut her esophogous. She lies there trying to speak but only spitting choking noises get out.

"You bitch...you did not just give me raisins did you? I'll show you what you can do with your raisins."

Soon she's unconscious and bleeding in her doorway. My "Live Action Sounds - He-Man Sword" has a dent now from where I crushed her oxipital lobe. I manage to get her a bit further inside her door and then shut it to let her gasp for air alone. Bernie won't even notice until halftime when he asks for a beer and she doesn't answer. By then I'll be long gone - at home and in Candyland. A sugar high all my own. Lost in the magic swirls of caramel and nougat until my tiny body can't take the adrenaline/sugar rush and I throw up and crash for the night.

"Next time you better have a Butterfinger or a Life Alert necklace," I say over my shoulder. Don't mess with a 10 year old's fix.

I look down in my Jack-O-Lantern bucket...that's the third house on this street alone to give me raisins. I pop open a box of Nerds and pour some of it's sweet calming sugar down my throat, feeling it's rush like liquid gold in my veins. My nerves calm a bit and I walk out past the large hedge to the sidewalk. Looking up the street I can see more kids have begun to come out and start their Trick or Treating. They don't even know the pain I've saved them. They don't even know the boxes of raisins they won't have to deal with this Halloween. I've got to hurry before it gets too crowded.

"It's gonna be a long night."

Marishka sat quietly writing down a few thoughts as she observed the girl in leather cuffs strapped to nothing more than chains. Her limbs were stretched to their own limitations until she was splayed like an "X" marking the treasure. Marishka was of average height, with stark white skin, and stark white tresses that lay bone straight down her back until they abruptly ended at her hips in a perfect straight cut. Her bangs were a long widows peak, creating a frame around the depths of eyes that held the truest form of madness yet unknown. She wore no makeup this night. Her eyes were a wild blue, brilliant and luminous. No pupils could be found, and if you should happen to have the chance to look into her eyes for more than a second you would find spheres of varying blues floating as though a universe were contained in this frail tiny woman.

The strapped youth had been caught spying on Marishka some months ago and had become what Marishka simply called her student.
The gown rustled as she stood and walked to the girl. She was dressed in a fitted black dress that flared very little from the waist until the hem touched the floor. The collar was high and buttoned to the hilt. Her hands were tucked into matte black gloves. She did in this moment look like the mistress of a strict school.
The girl had been rattling confessions, bribes, pleas, and now simply asked questions. She had admitted to collecting data for a story because of all of the rumors surrounding Ivanov manor. She told Marishka her name was Adelle, that she wanted to be a reporter. She confessed to the location of pictures and tapes. She realized two nights ago that none of this was the point for this strange woman. She had given into to reality and now wanted to sate her own curious nature.
Marishka was walking from various points around the girl and strapping thin chains to mechanisms on the floor. Adelle asked her what this was all about and Marishka stopped after a moment to look at her with a cocked head. It had been sometime since any student asked that. She smiled with a pride that made Adelle uneasy. She clasped her hands together and walked to Adelle. One gaze locked on the other as Marishka spoke. Her voice was soft, deep, calming, and yet a little frightening with the situation at hand.

"I was taught by Master Ivanov. He took me when I was a child. The plane of existence we are in now is only the first of many. It is in the blood, bones, flesh, and nerves that the knowledge for true ascendance lay. At first you can’t listen, you can only feel. Each body has a language belonging to that person alone. Only the subject or student and the true teachers can hear the lessons your blood is pounding in your heart to tell you. You feel it beat in your ears when true tragedy or suffering has occurred. Too often you all walk around ignoring it and attempting only to survive your pain. You have endured so many lessons and it is time for the final one. "

She began attaching small steel fishing hooks to the multitude of wires and chains on the ground.
Adelle was now hyperventilating as she could not think with a logical mind of a solution or way of reasoning with an obviously insane person. She then stuttered out another question. "What was your last lesson like?"

Marishka continued with the hooks as she smiled to herself thinking.
"I stood before him to receive the final lesson under his tutelage. All of the students of Master Ivanov are victims of abduction, slavery, or they had become victims of under estimating the company they kept. I was his only willing student. I had gone with him when I was eight, his eyes had captured me, a dark violet and as the color neared his pupils it shone like a pale blue light. I told him I thought it his soul.

I have spent twelve years in his care and in those long hard years I have seen death as a merciful gift none were grateful for. He has abused and broken my body in countless acts, rarely did an act repeat itself and if it should it was a matter of the student failing to grasp the lesson in one day.
He approached me and took my arm in a brusque jerk to the tub. He turned, and ripped my dress from my body in a clean downward pull. I stared at the water with an impatience I could not explain. Steam rose in great clouds above it and as I stared I felt a needle plunge into my arm with little tenderness as was the nature of Master Ivanov. After a moment of swaying my limbs went numb and I collapsed onto the floor sending a brilliant pain through my head as it hit the stone tiles.

He lifted me and laid me in the water and as blinding agony made my every nerve scream in its paralyzed state I realized his need of the drug for I would have flailed in the scalding softness of the water. I felt it blistering my flesh, I was in hell, trapped to feel all the pain without a single escape save my thoughts which were solely concentrated on the burning.

Hours later he approached the tub with a bar of soap and as he began to lather my tender skin in long slow measures I realized the soap was mixed and molded with metal shards and shavings. He spoke.
"Marishka …we have been doing this for twelve years now. This is the last lesson I give you. The pain has spoken to you in all of our lessons, revealing the mysteries and truths of your own soul through blood rushing, the pounding of your heart, and the screaming of your nerves. You’re reaching the final stage of true enlightenment. You will ascend tonight to the next plane far beyond this world of the weak minded."

Tears spilled from my eyes, the only sign my vacant expression gave that I was in pain and with the exciting promise those tears held for him he began to vigorously rub the soap into my skin.
I felt it tear and scratch as easily as one rips paper, the water was clouded in blood and soap and as the soap vanished the metal revealed itself more and more. He leaned me forward as he started on my back, my face hitting the water and then with it all I couldn't even breathe, my eyes stung from the soap, my damp locks of white hair were now streaked in the diluted color of my blood. I felt the screams strain in my throat, choking me. The soap burning my wounds and as I felt I would pass out he pulled me upright and continued.

"Marishka I do not seek your screams this night. You need to feel it all without distraction from the sound of your own submission."

When all but my face was damaged he placed his boot on the rim of the tub and overturned it letting me spill out in a wave of pale crimson. When I ceased rolling my eyes rested on the curled remains of flesh all around me, my flesh. My fingers skinned and blistered were all I could see of my own body. I shivered uncontrollably as I watched his boots walk toward me … I would have run then if I was able.

He lifted me into his arms and I looked to his face, holding my eyes at a painful angle to watch him as if to anticipate his next move. My own gaze streaming tears still that dropped from my chin, their salty trails burned fresh on my skinned body as we came to the exit of the manor. He opened the door and swirls of snow and freezing air bit into my body. My breathing quickened and I shook terribly as he walked me out to a patch of land barren of all save the ocean of snow. He laid me there gently, smiling down at me with a tenderness I would know only in this moment. He took a small ball of clay from a pouch at his side and parted it into two. He slipped a piece in each ear and sat in the snow near me. With open eyes looking toward the heavens, the snow burning as it kissed my gaze. My skin burned and screamed as I would have, had the ability been there. I wept freely from pain alone. I regretted nothing. With my ears blocked all I could hear was blood rushing and my heart pounding loudly in my chest and as the hours crawled on my heart slowed to a faint thumping I could barely make out, my skin was numb now and though the drug had worn out I was frozen to the ground. He removed the clay and looked down into my face. He smiled as I was not yet dead.

You’re dying my Marishka.
I have always believed this plane exists for the ignorant.
Your blood speaks the truth of your soul, of every mystery to the eyes of man. Your pain speaks the language of those truths into you, each students pain is a language unique unto them.
The blood is silent until the pain makes it speak, pounding it in your ears.
I seek to teach those most in need of me the language of their soul so that once they have learned all the divine mysteries of this plane they can ascend to a new plane more enlightened.

You will teach my Marishka ...

With that he knelt over me and bit into the soft frozen flesh of my neck, still finding my blood warm beneath it. For an instance I felt outside myself looking down, icy torn skin shimmered with frozen sanguine rivers making beautiful patterns over the pallor complexion of my flesh, frozen tears sparkling on my face. He drank deep of me then an fed me from his wrist, in the warm sweet nourishment of his blood I knew the truths of him just as he knew my own now. As I felt my soul depart, my living death take on I was comforted to know I would be doing the work of a saint for eternity. Helping and sacrificing to better the world through knowledge.

.
Adelle had not fought the pain that Marishka dealt as she very carefully placed numerous tiny hooks into her skin, It was done by the end of the tale. She now took a sharp thin blade and started cutting lines in the perfection that was this girl’s flesh. She took more than an hour before it was done and Adelle had done and said all she could. Marishka stepped back to the lever behind her and smiled at Adelle. "If you see my master tell him how good of a teacher I am now, will you?" She pulled the lever and each mechanism turned in unison pulling each hook sharply. They lingered in a stretched state only a few moments before the device flayed her and sent her into a state of severe shock. The blood sprayed over Marishka, and she smiled softly. She licked her lips and smeared the drop gathering on her lashes. "Pupils never linger long in my care."

It was a cold night in December. The winds were howling and the trees were being blown furiously from side to side. The streets of Chicago were eerily quiet; the usual sounds of parties and laughter mysteriously silent on the cold winter’s night.
No one seemed to be outside tonight; no one except one person; a cold, lonely soul who was walking the streets, their head hidden by the damp, thick shield of a scarf. Their footsteps echoed around the abandoned streets, muffled by the occasional hooting of owls.
They headed towards the local church; a big, tall musky building that looked as if a single leaf would knock its holy presence to the earth below.
The person entered the church and pulled the scarf from their head to reveal a young boy of the prime age of 17. His sandy blonde hair similar to that of his father, while he carried his mother’s delicate features. But that didn’t matter anymore. Not after what had just happened.
He walked towards the confessional booth before sliding into it. He only had to wait a moment or two before a calm voice spoke through the speaking vent.
“May the father, the son and the holy spirit be with you. Have you sinned, my child?”
A husky, deep youthful voice emerged from the boy. “Forgive me father for I have sinned. It has been 4 years since my last confession.” Pausing briefly, nothing was heard but the harsh breaths from either male. “I have just committed a crime. I have murdered my parents. Not because I wanted to but because the devil herself possessed me.”
Silence over took both booths before the father spoke. “My child, what did the devil say to you?”
“She promised me a lifetime of youth and beauty, a lifetime of being feared upon by those inferior to her kind.”
“Kind? Who is this person, my child?”
“She is the person outside this confessional booth.”
Silence erupted once again as the air was cut with weariness. Footsteps were then heard as the father stood up and opened his confessional door.
There was no time for screaming. It was over in a flash. The holy body hit the floor before red, lust-filled eyes peered into the young teen’s section.
“Come Damien I wish to feed.”
“I told you before. My name is not Damien. It’s Lachlan.”
“Soon enough you will be reborn and your name will be Damien.”
“Leave me alone, Griselda. Haven’t you done enough to me already?”
“Not enough my sweet.”
Lachlan pushed past her and power-walked down the hallway to the exit of the church. As he reached for the door and pulled it open he wasn’t surprised by Griselda waiting for him on the opposite side. She stepped towards him and her hands gripped his forearms as her face inspected his neck. “You can’t fight it Damien. You just have to accept your future. I can give you everything you can dream of.”
His eyes fluttered close as he tried to resist the seductive aura that invaded his senses. Her fangs lightly nipped his throat directly under his Adam’s apple. “Come on Damien while the night is still young.”
“Witch” The word erupted from his throat with a husky growl. “I’ll never be yours!” With those words he ran. Ran as fast as he could away from the church and from her; even though he knew it was pointless. She was beautiful, a creature of the night. She was faster than light and so gracious at the same time.
He stopped when his legs gave way. He glanced around at his surroundings and realization hit him. He was in the middle of a dark forest. She was probably watching him right now. He was never going to escape her.
He forced his legs to hold his weight as he stood. Slowly he started walking, just picking a random direction in which to stroll. Leaves crunched around him as he picked up his pace, his head looking behind him every few seconds waiting to see someone following him.
His heart began racing as he heard footsteps chasing after him. He broke into a run, sprinting into the darkness.
Out of no where a chilling laugh torn shivers down his spine as he tripped over a tree branch; but before he could hit the ground, delicate arms caught him.
“Be careful Damien, you’ll hurt yourself.”
“Get away from me, witch!”
Sharp movements erupted from the so-called witch and Lachlan was pinned to a nearby tree. Griselda’s hand lightly stroked his throat, she could feel and smell his life flowing through him. She pressed her curvaceous body against his lean hard one and smirked at his reaction. She lowered her voice to barely above a whisper.
“Please give me what I want and I’ll give you what you want. Stop fighting…”
“Never!”
“Ahh but your mind and body are breaking. I can read your thoughts and I know what you want.”
Her toxic smell filled her senses again and clouded his sane thoughts.
“Say it, Damien. Say it…”
“N-no…”
“You know you want to. Let me have you.”
“….”
Her tongue flickered out and tasted his salty skin. “Say it.”
“… Take me Griselda…”
“Gladly”
A smirk erupted in triumph as her fangs grew. Quick as a flash she sank her fangs into his neck and drank his life until only a drop remained. She waited momentarily until his eyes shot open, now electric blue, and his own fangs emerged.
“I knew I would have you. Welcome to your new life, Damien.”

The Hunt

Echoed sounds interrupted the peacefully sleeping darkness that was shrouded in a heavy mist. The clatter of heavy footfall, rhythmically running, breath sawed from exertion, penetrated the loom of night and the dense fog that had fallen over the city. The rapid beat of a fearful heart pounded against a heaving chest added to the rhyme of passion in his attempt to escape his nearing fate.

For an instant, Rick turned too looked behind him, his large blue eyes searched through the obscure darkness, for what, he wasn’t sure of. The only thing he knew was something was there lurking in the shadows and mist—stalking him.

Spinning back around, he lunged into a dense patch of fog, wondering why he had ventured out into the night away from the safety of his home. He never went out on Halloween night since the awakening of his discernment ten years before. It was a risk he had taken that night to return a few books to the library that could have waited until morning though they would have been late. And though he hadn’t seen and didn’t know what was after him, he could feel it closing quickly.

His long tawny hair wisped around and behind him. A lose white shirt clung to his chest while it filled with air at his back cooling the sweat that was being produced from his exertion. The definition of his hard muscled body was outlined in the material that clove intimately to him. Sable jeans hugged his waist, hips and thighs outlining the strength of his lower body.

“Why are you running from me, Richard? You know you cannot escape me. Come and bow before me and I shall consider your life as it is.”

The whispers resounded around him, repeating, echoing through the dark spoken softly, not shorted. Or were they even spoken at all? He heard the phrases, as if someone had whispered them directly into his ear, yet it seemed that somehow he knew they had not been spoken at all.

The sounds of his running fell silent, as Rick halted, his curiosity overtaking him in that moment. He wanted to see the face of his stalker and know what it was that had picked him out of the thousands in the city.

Turning slowly, he could sense the approach that was constant—unfaltering. His eyes narrowed as they peered into the mist and dark that surrounded him. The sound of his heartbeat pounded in his ears harder than it had before as a dark form appeared and became lost in the fog again. He stepped back, yet his movement felt laden, as if his limbs had turned to lead.

Something brushed against his thoughts which he struggled to oust right away.
A man chuckled not far from him. You are a strong one, Richard. This amuses me.

“Who are you!? What do you want from me?” Rick called out to the darkness.

I think you know, Richard. The answer came with the sound of jovial carelessness.

“Leave me alone!” Rick cried, then spun on the ball of a foot and started to run. The action was thwarted by an abrupt halt before it could be executed. Rick found himself face to face with his stalker, as his body plowed into a solid wall of undead flesh.

“I think not, my dear Richard.” The fiend smiled wickedly, exposing deadly fangs, as he lifted a hand slowly and cupped a warm cheek in its palm.

Richard gasped, looking up into his stalker’s face. The eyes of the creature glowed with red burning heat, capturing Rick’s stare. He became enthralled in the vast sea of red that enveloped him utterly. And though he felt danger in the creature’s touch, tried to duck away from it, but found himself unable to move.

“Now that I have your undivided attention, Richard,” the creature chuckled softly. “What shall I do with you?”

Rick whimpered.

“Ah, come now, lovely. Why do you fear me so? You’ve known of my coming these past ten years. Yet, now, you cower before me like a frightened child.”

“Please, sir,” Rick’s voice quivered with his trepidation. “Let me go.”

The corners of the creature’s full lips turned up in an amusing smile. “Tell me why I should do such a thing, Richard?” his voice was unthreatening, soft, almost amiable.

“Because you are a merciful man, impassioned with humanity…”

The creature threw his head back, pouring out a boisterous laugh that filled the air around them. “What book of fantasy have you been reading lately?”

The seriousness of his expression left nothing of doubt to Rick. He was doomed and he knew it. The glow in the fiend’s eyes brightened, as he attempted to think his way out of the situation he was in. With all his might, Rick pushed away from the creature’s body, barely able to manage a step or two.

“Careful, my boy, if you anger me, there will be hell to pay,” the man warned.

Rick took in his long black hair that hung down over the breast of his dark coat and vest that were embellished with elaborate trimming. A white shirt with fluffs of lace exuded down the front and from beneath the cuffs of the sleeves. Black pants and highly polished shoes completed the ensemble. The creature stood at least a full six inches taller than Richard, appearing to loom over his own six foot height. He was trim and fit, obviously a strong man when he had been made. And somehow Rick knew he could never best this undead creature with brawn alone.

“What do you intend to do with me?” Rick finally asked.

The fiend chuckled and stepped toward Rick who jumped back instantly. The man frown and his eyes narrowed.

“You know that I am allowing your freedom for the moment, Richard. At any time, I could have you in my grasp with only a thought. So, do not think you are immune to my wrath or my powers.”

“That doesn’t answer my question, sir,” Rick boldly pressed.

“Hmm…” the creature moaned, pushing aside his anger of the moment, amused by Rick’s tenacity and brazenness. “How about a game of sport, my boy? I do enjoy the thrill of the hunt.”

“What are the rules?” Rick asked, stepping back from the creature again.

“No rules, Richard. Anything goes. I think it makes the sport a bit more interesting, don’t you think?” the creature’s grin was more sadistic than was comfortable to Rick.

“If you say so, Mister…” he answered coolly.

“You know my name, boy.” the creature growled low.

“Yes, I do,” Rick hung his head for a moment, as it came to him from the dreams he had been plagued with the past ten years. “…Teris.”

“Yes, very good, Richard. You have been paying attention. And the night is waning, my boy. Be off with you, before I change my mind and take you now.”

“What happens if I have eluded you by daylight?” Rick asked.

“Oh, don’t you worry, my boy. That will never happen. But if you should survive the night, you will be free of me altogether.”

“Then let the game begin,” Rick grinned just before he turned and disappeared into the fog.

The creature chuckled. “Excellent…”

Time and again during the course of the night, Rick barely missed being caught by the creature, having no idea the fairness with which Teris had played the game thus far. Rick also didn’t realize how well he had listened to his intuitive senses, as he pushed himself off the wall of a building where Teris has scampered on hands and knees from the roof to just above him. His hand was outstretched to grab the human when he moved away.

Rick jogged, hiding himself in an old abandoned warehouse. The pitch black that surrounded him made it difficult for him to know if his hunter was nearby, but for his sixth sense that had been somehow born that first night those ten years ago when he had dreamed hearing Teris call to him through the darkness.

“Richard,” the whispered sound reverberated around him, making him wonder if the dream had been a premonition.

He sprang from his hiding place. His heart leapt into his throat when he felt something grab him. A struggle ensued and he wondered why he hadn’t sensed Teris’ presence just before. Or was it Teris that had hold of him? He screamed. And of all the names he could have called out, it had been the name of his stalker.

He was released with a sudden screech from someone unfamiliar that filled the warehouse. Falling back, he landed in a stack of empty crates becoming buried there. His head struck hard the wall behind him, stunning him momentarily. The next he knew someone was tossing the heavy wooden crates, as if they were cardboard boxes. His senses told him it was Teris.

A hand gripped his throat, lifting him off the floor and pressed his back to the wall behind him. With a growl, the creature’s thumb forced Rick’s head to one side almost snapping his neck with the force of it. Before Rick could react, Teris bit into his throat beginning to drink with fervor. The game was over, the hour was late and the creature was desperate for his prey.

Rick couldn’t stop himself from embracing the fiend. He didn’t know why he would do such a thing in the face of his own death. Was he insane?

Still, it caused the creature to lighten his grip. An arm slipped behind Rick pulling him closer to Teris’ body. And one last swallow, Rick felt the creature’s tongue lave over the wound. What was he doing? Hadn’t Teris intended to go for the kill? Rick found himself rather confused when the fiend released him.

“We should do this again sometime, my boy. I must admit that you’ve been rather formidable,” he whispered into Rick’s ear.

Rick chuckled nervously. “If you’d like.”

“Excellent...next Halloween, then?”

“Um…unless you’d like to sooner.”

Teris laughed lightly, almost sadistically. “Oh, I do love the way you think, lovely.”

“Thank you, Teris,” Rick answered, then realized he was alone. “Teris?” he called, then stepped forward in the dark. “Well, at least lead me out of here! I can’t see…Teris!”

My Immortal Master

In fear I have sought Him out
Trembling have I stepped from the shadows
My purpose unknown
With head held downward
I have agonized
Should I lift my eyes to meet His gaze
Would He strike me down
Would He leave me to naught
Destroyed and broken
This spirit unmended

What has He to do with me
A lowly servant among so many
Nothing am I to such power
Such awesome strength
Wielding His forces
With effortless will

Yet, I have come to Him
Waiting here
Seeking wisdom
Drawing from His strength
I wait in the dim light of His chamber
As He steps out of the shadows
Into that flicker light
I see Him with dread
Terror binds me
My breath caught
Unable to respire

His hand lifts to me
I bow at His feet
Offering me servitude
To his highest
To Him

Will I be forced to leave
His awesome presence
Or will my sacrifice be recognized

I grope for air as I kiss His shoes
Wondering if I will survive
Or will my life be lost
Will I die without hail or furrow
Will I be torn to shreds
By His terrible wrath
And be cast aside
No mourning
No sorrow for my plight

Ah but His hand rests
Atop my menial head
Lifted to my feet
I am offer his deadly kiss

My Immortal Master

Dark Embrace

Dying inside my self.
Alone without a care.
Remembering the times we had.
Killing me slowly

Ending my life.
Making me believe in you.
Bringing more sorrow to this life.
Racing around my mind.
Attacking all that is me.
Can't you see.
Eternity in me.

Of Dreams and Vampires

By BeshadowedChild and WindStormy

In life, people are faced with many challenges, wandering through a daily ritual of mundane practices—or so it would seem. For others, life poses a playground of self-indulgent quests to better their own selves, break their own records, or strive to achieve some greatness and leave a mark for others to follow. Some are overcome with the weight of everyday life. Overtaken with grief, sorrow, bitterness, and fears, they often seem overshadowed. Some find a means by which to achieve their goals and move on. Others take it as it comes, weighing each facet delivered to them by some scale and feather that no one ever sees.

What ties them all together in the vast temperament of life’s abundant wreckage? As simply as she's observed, it is that they dream. In the depths of their subconscious being, they escape to the unknown, deal with fears, live out fantasies, delve into the melting pot of the strange, bizarre, wicked, immortal, and immoral. She, too, used to dream. Once, long ago.
Therein is where her story lies—in a dream. But this is no ordinary dream, as some might think of one. It encompasses a vast desire hidden deep within a conscious being that had managed to permeate her very spirit, and body.

Darkness had finally fallen, thankfully pushing back the last bit of light of the evening and leaving a blanket of deep purple and black over the earth. A crisp, chilling wind spreads through the quiet little town, creeping into windows left open due to the heat of the day, rustling curtains inside homes and the leaves on trees outside.

With it came the unseen, unknown spirit of something certain novelists would come to call dark and mystical, seeking its prey under the cover of night, lurking in shadows, answering the call of one lone soul. Her raven hair flowed on the very wind that carried her, seeming alive with a mind of its own, curling around and shrouding the face of its owner. Clad in a hooded cloak of deep violet, crimson peasant's vest, white shirt, black skirt, and tall boots, her attire seemed all of an era long since past.

She could almost hear the cries in the blood of her victim, smell the scent of her prey’s desire to be taken, hear the thudding beat of her chosen one’s heart—even though her prey were miles away. Having honed in on all of these, she followed where her senses led, passing over many with the same desire but to a much less degree than this one lone soul.

Thirst and curiosity drove her to it seek out. Driven by her own desire and need, she continued into the night until she found what had drawn her there to outskirts of that sleepy little town. Hovering at an open window, she peered in, knowing full well that it had been left open for her to enter at will. Her gaze caressed the scene before her, stirring her hunger with the scent of its source not far away.

William stirred in his sleep, perspiring, as his dream continued. With anticipation and desire, his chest heaved at a quickened pace, knowing the presence of his darkest longing was near. In the surreal visage, he beheld the face of the one he would yield himself to, a compelling seductress that demanded his complete attention with only the expression of her burning eyes, alluring—comely to the point of indistinguishability between mortal and immortal beauty.

His breath hitched at the sight of this darkly stunning vision outside his window, awed by her commanding presence. A fleeting thought almost drew him from his bed to drop upon the floor toward the creature in a majestic bow, paying homage in the only way he thought worthy. Yet, boldly, he remained where he lay, waiting, tempting whatever fate might befall him. The creature’s inviting, curvaceous lips twitched, and William was at a loss as to whether it was from anger or amusement.

He felt the tempo of his pulse rush faster as the lady stepped into his room. His fists gripped the bedding that covered him, as if their strength could will away the malevolent beauty that stood nearby. The woman advanced slowly, a distinctive expression closed to the knowing of her beholder. With a movement of her hand, the bedding repelled, ripped from William’s grip, then settled gracefully at his side. Exposed to the creature’s stare, William was allured, yet afraid. Attempting to cover himself, he found himself unable to move, caught in some invisible grip that held him. His heart pounding loudly in his ears, he was certain that she could hear it.
As the woman stood over him, her lips twitched again. Blood red fingernails delved slowly into the flowing brown locks of lengthy hair. Warmth and softness spread over her hand, through her fingers, emitting a small gasp of appreciation from the woman. She watched, enthralled, as the strands slipped through her digits, creating a contrast within the senses of touch and sight.

When the last strand had fallen away to settle gently over William’s cheek, the woman’s hand migrated to the warmth of that cheek, the backs of her fingers caressed it softly. Coolness met warmth, gently, as this undead figure sought out the sensations she had long forgotten in living tissue. Curious of what had long been lost in the making of her present form, heat of the skin and moisture or perspiration were absorbed with great attention to detail—down to the very finite hairs and pores that spread across the chest she was now exploring.

The pad of a finger of the free hand found warm taut flesh over William’s chest. Absorbing the heat emitted from her prey’s living form, she moved the finger indiscriminately over the softness that stretched across hardened muscle. Soon the finger was joined by another, and another, until the entire hand caressed William's chest at will, taking in what it so desired. The hand that had touched William’s face then moved down into the hair to the back of the head. Lifting her prey, first the head, neck, then shoulders and back, she sat slowly, amicably next to her prey. Her free arm curled around William, drawing him nearer as the woman canted his head. The lips parted slightly as the creature took in the profound aroma of William’s blood and chemistry. Quite suddenly, she stopped.

Her eyes danced over the loveliness she found in William’s face. His brown eyes that stared back, captured by the lady’s own gaze, full of life and willingness to surrender. Thin strips of brows rested atop the eyes with what the lady considered to be perfection. Quivering lips, waiting for whatever attention might be given, if any at all, were parted, emitting shuddering quick breaths that washed over her face in soft puffs. Slowly, she leaned closer.

Just when their lips would have met the woman diverted, inadvertently grazing William's jawline as she made her way along, further down and back. They settled over the pulse point of the throat where the artery throbbed strongly beneath them. Lingering for a long moment, the lady focused upon the stirring and temptation aroused long before she entered the room.
Instinctively the lips parted. The woman’s tongue snaked out, laving the warm flesh that thudded underneath its moistening. Savoring the moment until she could stand the torment longer; there appeared protruding fangs that pierced the skin to the artery.

She was vaguely aware that William gasped as she threw her arms around him, or of the fists that clutched his coat with such strength that just before she ripped it, she relished the succulence of the flood that was freely given. With each mouthful her arm tightened around William, drawing her prey firmly to her form. The hand that gripped the back of the human’s head constricted, nails digging deep into the scalp. The torrential swirl of oblivion surrounded the creature, as she swallowed time and again, feasting ravenously upon what she had come for.

At long last the moment had come for him. William’s breath sawed, as he felt the draw on his circulation. With the tightening of the woman’s arm, he feared being crushed to death before she was done. Yet the contact, the closeness, had a marked a dark sensuality surrounding her, arousing his senses to an inexplicable level of excitement, desire and need. He soon felt as if he were floating, vaguely aware that the lady had lowered them to the bed.

His embrace and the grip with which he held onto the dark lady’s cloak weakened and he began to gasp, flooding his lungs with much needed oxygen with the depletion of blood. Blackness churned about him, enveloping him into the abysmal darkness that waited. Death was near. He could sense its presence as close as the creature above him.

Finally, the vampiress detached from William’s throat. Sitting up slowly, she took in the marked difference in her precious victim’s appearance. The lips had turned a slight blue. The skin had a definite pallor, cool and clammy to her touch. He appeared even lovelier in this state of near death. She debated, in her own mind, the fate of this prey, having drawn William to the brink of death. Her lips twitched, almost in the faintest smile, as the backs of her fingers lightly caressed a cool cheek almost lovingly.

"What will become of me now?" William asked, once enough strength returned to form the words, "Will I die? Rot in the cold, damp ground, decaying into nothing?"

"No," the vampiress said, no longer at William's side, but sitting on the window's ledge, "it is not your fate to die this night."

William pondered this a moment, his head still quite light from the blood loss. "Am I like you now? Did you bring me over to be forever at your side?"

At this, she quickly turned her gaze out the window, and William wondered if he'd imagined the unreadable look on her face as she turned. "No," she said, "and do not ask me why, for I will not answer."

"Then at least answer me when I ask you your name," William said. He tried to move, but his body was still too weak. And then she was gone.

William shot upright in his bed, as if someone had pulled hard on an invisible chain attatched to his neck. Instinctively his hand flew to his neck, revealing nothing but flesh, dampened by sweat, and unbroken. Another vivid dream, like the many others, so real that the lack of a wound on his neck was the only proof that it ever was a dream. Bur something happened in this dream that differed from the others. As William's eyes darted towards the window, spotting a flit of movement, gone in a flash, he could still feel her hot breath against his ear, and remembered the one last word she had whispered.

"Sylvana..."

William shot upright in his bed, as if someone had pulled hard on an invisible chain attached to his neck. Instinctively, his hand flew to his neck, revealing nothing but flesh, dampened by sweat, and unbroken. Another vivid dream, like the many others that were so real the lack of a wound on his neck was the only proof that it ever was a dream. But something happened in this dream that differed from the others. As William's eyes darted towards the window, spotting a flit of movement that was gone in a flash. He could still feel her hot breath against his ear, and remembered the one last word she had whispered before she disappeared.

"Sylvana..."

The dark caresses, its safety surrounds
a warm cloak of night, its power abounds
it shields my being, my body and what I must do
I drink in your life, the essence of you
the strength that it gives is instant to see
my breathing is hard, you grow within me
the heartbeat ring and echo within my head
I live for the night, I am not the undead
In that moment of capture, of yielding delight
that moment, I spring and end futile flight
the second your soul I from you deprive
that instant I am so much more than alive
the power is within me, so much I could burst
your fluid does little to quench what I thirst
I possess you, I own you, you are what I crave
you obey what I order, my inferior slave
you assist as you must, you will is mine alone
you cannot protest, you are what I own

Invite me inside your locked wooden door
I'll cast out the myth, the legends I abhore;
the cross of the jesuit, the grains of the sand
the clove of the garlic, the heart of the lamb
nothing can stop me when I seek my fill
I return with avengence if you seek to kill
for I am immortal, my power without end
you I enslave but never befriend
Beg if you will to be as I am,
Bow down before me as low as you can
my birthright is not yours, nor a gift to give
you seek it so much, you so want to live
live not as a mortal, short life to grieve
a life you desire of length to achieve
the study of knowledge of ceremony
important, of course, but mean nothing to me
your study will not you immortal make
it will not give you the right to take
what is rightfully mine and of my kin
and have feelings which most consider a sin

Ceremony does little but focus the mind
your thoughts attract me and more of my kind
we seek out the believer, the one in the crowd
the one who does more than the rest are allowed
the one who seeks wisdom, knowledge and power
the one whose acts cause the others to cower
the true believer who knows what his destiny holds
whose life waits not while the future unfolds
To talk of death and destruction is wrong and a waste
you kill off your lifeblood, the very power that you taste

the dawn is not feared, its so welcome, a chance to rest ....
