Real or not? i want to know if you believe if the voices that are in your head are demons or just a split personallity?

I've been deemed Schizophrenic for hearing things in my head. There are a lot of beliefs of what voices could be.
I'm not a personal believer in demons talking in your head, I believe in possession, but not like that.
I think that voices could be explained as a conscious and subconscious kind of lapping over each other, screwing up the way of things, making thoughts kind of come out of left field.
Also, it could possibly be a form of divine intervention. A higher being whispering in your mind and all that.

im constantly debating between my darker drives and my bleeding heart side. i joke that i have a conscious but he talks in spanish so i have no idea whats hes saying....

I think that if you are hearing actual voices you may need to visit your doctor.

Sometimes when I am really relaxed like when I am almost ready to fall asleep I hear voices that seem real. It freaks me out a little. It has only been happening for about the last year. I assume I am just crazy but who knows.

Seek professional help. Even in the mystical world, hearing voices others can't is not a good sign.

I’m not sure if seeking professional help for hearing voices would really help my professional life. I’ll give it some thought though. Thanks for the advice.

have you ever thought that it is just your brain tweling you what to do- you might not actually be crazy- it might just be your process of thinking.

unless its telling you to do bad things- in which case its always more fun to listen to the voices.

I'm not sure how many people's brains transmit thoughts to them in the form of audible voices that they don't recognize.

A lot of people do not know if the voices that some people hear are demons or not, but i do not see why they could not be demons i mean when people are possessed they say and do things that are not normal so why could voices not talk to them also...

i honestly don't know, but seeing as he has damn good advice to give, and can help me with work, i don't really care.

mine doesn't tell me to do bad things - just nags occasionally. often points out where i've made a mistake. he's just damned useful really. except when he does stuff without me knowing.

sometime i "think out loud" in my mind....but nope, nothing approaches me randomly to start a conversation.....i'd say, see a doc.

why? if it works, don't fix it.

i dont think i need to go to doc's again but concese maybe but the things i hear are very scary sometimes dont make any sense at all

yes, that's what i'm talking about. the voices that don't make sense. i mean no disrespect, i am merely concerned.

sometimes i get names to but mostly voices saying weird words i dont understand at all like last week the name ej kept coming up over and so loud i had to block it

you might have spirits talking to you, dunno....i'd say consult a reputable medium.

wish i new one that wasnt fake most are unless you talk to ones that the police have actionly used

hm, its one of those voices... if you can find a medium, try talking to it. see what they want. if they respond, either revisit the shrink or go see a priest.

Voices in your head can be plenty of things. For example, a demon, an angel, a ghost/spirit, it can be energy conversating, maybe your mind itself, or just simply a dissorder. It can be plenty.

(Split personality is different than schizophrenia.) This is the perfect post for today because I am at a hearing voices seminar. Try ear plugs, or a headset. But also go to a doctor and a good one.

I would have to agree with those who are saying that seeking professional help is the best option.

with me they are not so much different personalities as different aspects of my personality .... my ambition, desire to help people, the part of me that loves a thrill no mater the cost, my lusfull side ...etc they all have my voice but different acents i've gotten used to it over the years but it has led to me laughing at some in aapropriate times

A Shaman once told me that the voices in my head were helpful to me. I too was diagnosed as scyzo years back because of them plaguing me only to find out from him that what I was hearing was advice for what I was facing at the time. As to how I deal with them now I just do not say anything to others and deal wtih them in my head rather than bugging others about what I hear.

Fortunatetly I have done pretty well by doing this but I am not sure that I could help others to be able to deal with them the way that I do.

Maybe your other..lets say...6th sence
is starting to really pick up things.
There are many things out there that humans
can not hear nor see.But,animals can..cause they have stronger sences.Do you know what I mean?Some people have thoes hightend sences..they just can't use it untill the body lets them..for some reason.You could be picking up others that have conversations in another way of comunication.I just found out today threw the net..that some people can feel colors..without looking at somthing they just touch it and know what color it is.Like a extra sence.Anyways..don't go to the doc's to much.They can eventually brainwash you into thinking that your crazey and need pills all the time.Maybe you should listin to the voices..and try contact.Maybe..just maybe you'll get and answer.

Auditory hallucinations. Yes! This is why I am a slow reader. The whispers grew more frequent when I gave birth, but mostly it's just that I hear everything. It's like a superpower.

That can go either way, can't it? Some have the faith in those have claimed to "hear voices" and prospered -- on the other hand you have those that opted to drink the Kool Aid or get ready for the comet...
I've met a woman who heard a man's voice who used to tell her random events -- nothing ever major, but still kinda eerie. I also know someone who hears voices and eats paste.

All in all, I'd not disallow the idea. There. I finally answered.

If you do not know the differance between you own thoughts and that of "demons", realistically, you do need psychiatric help.

Most of the time, it is merely your own thoughts. Its what you choose as a differant voice of which replies, but all in all, you decide for yourself whether or not that voice changes just to have company for yourself. But they are your own thoughts, just the same.

Well the only voices I hear in my head are my own, echoes from previous experiences, and on occassion an entity wanting to communicate. Soo....I don't know if that helps you any lol.

Honestly i dont know..i think there might be cases out there where it is a demon or such..but i think in most cases it's just split personality...i mean many mental illnesess get mixed up now days..and i think you can never be to sure..but im leaning more towards split personality

thanx for all your answers to this it has helped but as to going to the doc's like someone said i dont want to be brainwashed and put on pills so i will just half to keep a open mind and hopfully they will go away or i can learn to block them.

I feel confident that I have multiple personalities. I've never bothered to get it diagnosed because I seem to be aware of the fact that there are several other personalities besides my own inside me.

I suppose it's possible that the voices could be demons...but I don't really think it is.

I think the voices are just what's deemed as a personality disorder. The chemicals in your brain misfiring.

sometimes i DO hears voices but the strange things is sometimes they sound like my dead family relatives

I don't think it's demons. It May be split-personality. Could be a spirit, but I don't believe a spirit would want you to do something bad, I would seek out another doctor, such as a psychoanalyst, psychologist, or psychotherapist, good luck to you.

well, i hear voices but just in certain occasions. For example when i am in danger. I think it's something inside telling you what to do.
I don't think that people that hear voices is crazy ...

i find the voices as said before, the sub conciense crossing over with the normal level of concenseness, that is why for some people hear voice when they're falling asleep, when the sub-concense takes over.

never know there could be lots of reasons for you to hear voices. It could be demons, split personality or any other type of spirit. It could even be your own conscience

I have no idea what it could be, but if the voices do not take control of you, maybe you can use them to your advantage.

I think it is maybe your consciences telling you things or warning you of things ,, the mind is so complexand we only use like a small% of it so aanything is possible.

i hear voices..but i don't believe they are demons..they have kept me out of alot of trouble at times..they let me know when they think something is good or if i should ignore it.

well atleast we are not alone when we hear voices.... maybe its just our thoughts... or maybe some of us needs to see a doctor right away.... can also be a gift.....if you have this i guess enjoy the company

I think alot of the voices we hear in our head are normal, It is our subconsiouse mind letting us know . And The spirits are getting through to us Unless it is a dieaseas then u would have to let the dr know ,. Or it could be telepathy experiences.

i talk to my self but when i answer i hear a different vioce.....as if someone else is saying it

I think everyone has thoughts or things they say inside there own head to themselves. I also believe that some will hear in their mind something either negative or positive someone else has told them.

There are those who claim to hear voices that tell them to do bad things or that they are in danger. They are the ones who usually get told they have a mental illness. Of course, those with a mental illness could hear happy things too.

Sometimes I think it's neither. Just your conscience trying to protect...or your guardian spirit doing the same.

I hear voices often..and yet I was dignopse with only bipolair and HAIT syndrom....wonder if the doctors in the psychiatric institut really know their job? lol no seriously I hear them and now my daughter too, but most of the time they are there ot warn us

I used to hear voices but it stopped a while ago... I never figured out what it was and I really still am not sure so I dunno... They can be real demons

Sorry, I think we sometimes have an inner dialogue, but not sure I believe in the voices.

Considering that I feel like I'm a demon in the making, I think it's my split personality that's turning me into a demon. Like just the other day I heard a voice saying my name repeatedly really softly and there was no-one around me.

Honestly - the only "voice" in my head is my own... so it's real enough...

some may not have voices and others may...wearther they r demonic or just a split personality and some may have both at 1 time it all depends on the person and wagt has happnd in there life so far for them to be like tht

It is my belief that the voices that many people hear in they're heads are mere remainders of past lives. There are however many things that they could be. I have no proof of what I think.

I believe if your actually hearing voices your likely to be Schizophrenic. However, if the voices are your own thoughts or perhaps some telepathic communication that feels more like a strong intuition it might be more of a psychic ability.

i personally would go and get some help i start hearing voices in my head i would freak out .. i have a bad enough time making good decisions on my own i dont need interferenceof others or my own dilirium making the decisions even worse

I hear voices, loud and clear sometimes..And yes i have gone and got help, i still hear them..So doesnt know if it was just me or not..I believe in demons and such so..I am bi-polar and not crazy so what else could the reason be

interesting- i think it's either if u believe it- that u believe demons r there- then u subconsciously accept them being there, tell u what to do- as in 'voices' or it could just be urself wanting to make something so real that u actually hear it...

I agree with Crying Mist..They are here to warn us, help us out..I dont think they are out to hurt us, if they was they would do it

i do believe that it isnt a spilt personality at all or demons i do think it is people or spirits trying to commuicate to me i have asked out lound what my spirits in my house wanted maybe this is their way of answering me. Thanx all for your help
