does a werewolf drink blood only like a vampire to sustain itself or can it come & eat or feed off other things

a werewolf does not drink blood like a vampire.it sustains itself on both blood and flesh.but it thrives off of carnage and mayhem

In no way, shape or form do werewolves resemble vampires it is a totally different being. They are not blood drinkers. They do not necessarilly thrive on violence and carnage either unless you are refering to movies like Wolven or what not.

I had actually thought that werewolves just had enhanced abilities and only felt any kind of uncontrolled urges at the times of full moons.

I think ware wolves are more violent and need not just the blood but also the hunt kill and consumption of meat and blood :)

werewolves are hunters, they are masters of the hunt and the kill, although more 'animal' then vampires (no offence meant to any werewolves) and as such tend to eat the flesh of the prey rather than the blood, although many werewolves these days drink the blood as part of rituals or from personal beliefe, it is not part of their survial.

Werewolves pretty much eat like rabid wolves. They eat the flesh and raw meat and pretty much anything edible and meaty. The only resemblance between vamps and lycans is that the bite carries over the dieses, at least with hollywood vamps and Werewolves. Its my belief that lycans are a breed of their own and that it is NOT a dieses. (God i cant spell). The diesese that is affiliated with werewolves is straight lunacy. In which one can believe they are a werewolf. And it is ussually triggered by the gravity of the full moon

Hollywood strikes again. I am guessing you are referring to Lucien from Underworld. The entire "Lycan-Vampire" thing is a creation of Hollywood. The story would have little dramatic value if the anti-heros were just flesh hungry rage filled canines running around eating people. If you know one personally I guess you are priviledged with insight I do not have.

a werewolf is a human that turns into a wolf the feed as a wolf and nothing like a vamp in some legands they do not even need to eat non- "human" food and in some they kill everything in their path

Uh nooo, silver bullets are the only thing that can put them down...Save for roses and wolfsbane. But they are hardly immortal. They may die from old age, which is no big deal. The silver is only there if the Loupe Garou gets out of hand, this is also true for the other items I mentioned.

wolfkiller, im guessing you meant invulnerable instead of immortal, even then they are only mostly invulnerable as they still have a few weaknesses.

I'm pretty sure a werewolf is prone to enjoying very rare meat and such during the non full moon weeks..but when the full moon approaches, they would begin to feel the pull of the moon; and when they would transform, become the basic instinct of the wild wolf - to hunt and to kill and feed.

well Vampires thrive off of blood,but were wolves actually thrive off of raw flesh and get blood that way.they are both dark creatures in that I do agree.

First there is no such thing from a science stand point. If there were such creatures, they would probably not need blood so much as meat, like any other large bodied carnivore.

I don't believe that werewolves need blood to survive like vamps. I think of them more as being humans that can take shape of an animal..or animals that can take form of humans. They do not need blood, but it is animal instinct to hunt and kill in perhaps a rather savage way.

A lycanthrope is much like a regular wolf during the full moon and feeds on the flesh of animals and the occasional human. During the period in which they are human they consume normal things like fruit and vegies but their meat is kept rare sense part of the wolf still exists even when the being is in human form. There are different breeds like there is one that can transform anytime they want, that feed off emotions, and all that. But the true bred Lycanthrope, as I said before, feeds on th flesh of animals and the occasional human. Though when in wolf form they tend to stay away from people in general but if someone is bleeding and such the wolf would be drawn to that person and will feed.

Assuming you are talking about the fictional werewolf, I think they pretty much eat or drink anything. When the change happens and they transform into humans they can eat ham and eggs or anything they want too.

I agree that they are entirely different. As far as I know, Werewolves eat flesh, like a blood lust maybe, but they eat it, not drink it's blood.

If I am correct, you are asking if werewolves can eat things like veggies for nourishment, as well as flesh. I would say yes. I think vampires probably only drink blood and don't really eat anything. This varies by movie or book, but in the Ann Rice novels they didn't eat.

Weres/Lycans,are not at all like Vampires they eat meat(Flesh or other)They aren't the killers Hollyweird makes them out to be,and despite popular belief don't hate vampires at least the ones I know,and wear doesn't necessarly mean wolf.My Aunt was a were fox. Any animal can be a wear. She ate meat,and vegies and enjoyed blood.Just my opinion from what I've seen.

I got my information from a number of books, and some of the info is just logical.

I was not aware werewolves drank blood. Vampires drink blood, werewolves eat meat. At least, that is hollywoods take on things.

Were-animals are sustained on blood and meat together, according to most legends and myths.

Werewolves are animals... and eat as such

Humans are animals... and eat as such

Vampires are undead... blood replishes their own dead blood

Mammal doesn't equal animal all the time.

Ok no offense to any one but I believe were wolves to be fictional creatures until there is actual proof of their existence. But as for the creatures of fiction, it is mostly said that they feed off of flesh and blood by brutally attacking humans or other things.
