Is it just me or has anybody else noticed that in this technological age, where cameras are everywhere and almost everyone carries one on them, the number of UFO or paranormal sightings has dropped to basically nothing?

So what is the conclusion, Aliens are no longer interested with us, or people find they can't make a quick buck without having proof any more?

Maybe the aliens are aware of this and have cloaking technology.

interesting. but fact is i belive alot of what earlyer was seen as ufos have been busted to be something else. I belive it dont longer is so mystical as it once was for many people because cameras etc etc have maded people to stop beliving.

I don't feel they have dropped it's just that it's becoming more of the norm unfortunately, so no one really pays attention or gives a care anymore.

When i first clicked on this forum I was like oh no not again....But you raise a very interesting ? That is so true, there has been a decrease of sighting's. You never know maybe darksyn is right, they have romulan technology. But on the other hand with this digital age, you would think there would be more pics coming out, due to digital manipulation.

You would think there would be more frauds, but they have far to many people who are out to disprove the frauds that they don't have a prayer of away with it.

True ther are a lot of people like "ghost hunter" who are out there to disprove things, but at the same time there are many liar's and cheats.

That's the thing no one trust anything hardly anymore unless seen with their own eyes, and even then they try to disprove it logically.

I agree the only way to really prove something is to see it with your own eyes, until then nothing can be proved or disproved.

The truth is out there. lol also it could be maybe that they're just not coming around as much. Everything has its up and down times.

My opinion is that alien sightings are old news. People are ready to move on to something else.

I believe that Aleins know they could be seen or caught so they stay away or are not seen.

what i think is that with the present technology most of the phenomena that in the past we thought could be a UFO, now can be easily disregarded because the cameras show that they are other things... you know?

I agree with carsho, the number of sightings HAS appeared to dropped. At least that's so in the bigger cities. The sightings that might still occur are on farms or places like that where people can still get away with their tricks and earn some quick cash.



I think that once we've passed the year 2000, it has been more robots than aliens.

It's much easier to dismiss a UFO sighting today for many reasons. First with the advance of science and technology they can be explained away and second there are so many illusions created by film makers today that any incredible looking video or pic of a sighting can be dismissed as digital art work.

Please consider the Mexico sightings of a few years ago, Texas sighting just 3 days ago, Illinois sighting from 5 or 6 different towns and reported by numerous Police Officers from 2002 or 2003.

Just because we do not hear alot of whoopie about them anymore does not mean they are not still out there or even around.
We have become so accustomed to hearing about it that many have got where they just blow the stuff off ... So I feel it is there and even more so with the new technology .. remember our government only let you know what they want you to know the rest is always covered up!! Well I’d disagree about the number of sightings going down. According to the shows that the History and Discovery Channels have put out, sightings have increased over the years and more people are capturing “evidence” on video than before.

I think it’d be safe to say that people are being more objective and realizing that a UFO does not always (if at all) mean an Extraterrestrial and that it’s most likely something Terran in origin.

I beleive that most if not all of the sighting's out there are either hoaxes or experimental aircraft. If alien's did exist and are as advanced as some theorize I don't think they would be stupid enough to get caught investigating our planet.

There are still alot of debating going on about the existance and photos people take...don't know what you mean that there isn't. But I do beleive proof is becoming a more and more nessiary thing in this day and age.

if out of 100 questions in a questionaire designed for paranormal sightings a person who answers say above average and gets audience for further research there are people who are not familiar with the process of filing so with the flood of sightings the "everything is UFO hounds"clog the gears and the stronger cases are backlogged there is as I am aware an overhaul coming to the system to thin out the conspiracy crowd as well.
It would be a shame if a true case were lost in the bureauracracy.

as for the satellites, during President Reagan's run as President he initiated the S.D.I. also known as the STAR WARS project, where numerous satellites missile platforms are in geo-synchronous orbit around the planet, those platforms are aimed out into space instead of toward Earth in case of possible "invasion". Also please take into account the numerous sightings in England, Germany, and most of Western Europe.

ok I admit I have faked a few sightings (apparitions)We used good effects as well.but the thing that makes it stronger is the groups mentality ...sort of like the ol' parlor hocus pocus back in the days before TV ratings.so people that fake good ghost or set up great UFO's get points from me as well...but they have to have certain elements to cut mustard with me.Cheap theatric effects need to be bolstered by hypnotic projection to impress me.

One night I saw the coolest aircraft. It was very odd, and I suppose that 20 yrs ago I could have suspected a UFO. Now I know it must belong to our military though.

I think if more people saw things and paid attention to the routine stuff they would find that the real interesting things (even if they are not para Normal)are just as bizarre.

By the way, most cameras don't have the capability of taking good quality night sky pictures. Believe me, I've been trying to find one I can afford!

I have noticed that UFO sightings tend to come in 'waves'. For example a wave in the 1960's then a slow down until the late 1990 through to early 2000's, no another slow down but certainly the sightings have not stopped.

I doubt that the sighting have really slowed down. I think its just not as hot an issue to the general public as it once was. I also believe that sighting come in waves as someone else said. Every time a sighting is reported the number of sightings in that area increases. Why is that you ask? Because it simply makes more people look up and see things even if they are mistaken as to what they are.

I think aliens are old stuff now. Who knows, perhaps the number of sightings is the same, people just don't say anything about it.

Yeah, there was a thread plz on that Mars pic, there is still a massive debate going on about that here on the Rave. Personally i think it's a wierd rock formation as the 'legs' kind of blend into the planet, but at first glance it certainly made you pause and look closer.

Among the "snipe hunt circles"there are the instigators of hysteria,there is also the possibility that some are notional projectors (people that descibe what they may have seen so well that others upon seeing something (now that they are have a suggested thing to look for)like a blimp for example
the same one that the imaginative person saw it becomes fascinating...so they recall (subconsciously)the attention and such the first reporter/witness got and they jump on the tale...if they have a photo that is fuzzy or contains trick perspective they may even bolster or trump the previous witness.I find most pictures that get attention are the "accidental pictures"not the I brought a camera to the place where some one spotted a ghost or UFO and got this picture.
People when bored recall witness stories so when a new detail emerges all the i want to be a witness to the Para normality people hope on it.Thankfully there are questionaires to assess the ligitimacy of the person filing a report.Some fakes in the haunting field are still studied as phenonama.The fact that some person or even a whole family would create or manifest activity in their house I find to be remarkable.especially when it is not for profit like some hoaxes are.What town hasn't made money off a sighting ghost or UFO?

I personally have never seen them and don't really believe in them either but I'm not saying it's impossible. I would have to see it with my own eyes and not just through a picture. (like a lot of people.) It's up to the people who claim to have seen them to decide wheather they believe in them or not and I won't knock it if they do, I just won't follow their lead.

Yes I realize that I basically just said that I view it in the way that I gave as a possible reason for there being less 'sightings'. Maybe that is why I said what I did.

I have even had my uncle and grandma tell me about their sighting and they both believe in them and are convinced but I will have to see it myself. They said that they do not talk about it because of the doubt of others and because it was so freaky. (to them talking about it seemed taboo.)

I believe in life on other planets but why would they want to really come here for if they're that advanced in technology for space travel.

I think it is more that ppl have come to terms with us not being alone that there are other races out there and now that we have released this it is no longer top rating news. Remember it is what newspapers, magazines and tv think will make us watch or read. It is nothing to do with there not being any sightings or ppl trying to make a quick buck as ppl will always try that no matter what. The ppl who tell us the news only writes what they want us to hear.

Just watch what is in the news today and see if it will still be there in a couple of mths or yrs. Take the war, it was in the news everyday now u will hardly see it at all. It isnt that ppl are loosing interest or it isnt there anymore it is the news readers/writers not getting anything out of it because we all know what is going on.

well, i agree with carsho, the satellites that we have covering basically almost all of the earth's surface makes it really hard for some hick in the woods to trample down some corn in his field late at nite with a stick and steel wire and call it a UFO now....all they have to do is "check the surveillance tape" so to speak now up in space to see if it all went down like that.

i think that the government has more control of the classical cover up now....they can see the shit coming, send out a plane to blow it up if it looks too menacing, analyze it enough to do a cover up, and plan for the news not to hear about it.

The show on the Radio last Coast to Coast really went in depth with the guy that helped with that documentary a while back ... This forum made a good base for objective listening.

i've seen some damned good documentaries on the history channel as well, that make one think, and i'm not talking about the ones that talked about the ufos coming out of water...the area that they were discussing was too deep for anyone to really go down into there to look, but the physical evidence that they showed at recent on-land "sites" was very interesting.

ok first i do believe in aliens. BUT they wouldnt bother coming to see our primative nature. We kill and mame eachother for no reason and no honor. The human race would be a waist of time for them to come all that way.

Well they have been using TV technology to talk about the one in Texas recently, quite a bit! I keep seeing it all over the place. That isn't the first time they have seen them in Texas in that area, apparently.

well then they need to get those ufo hunters out there then to make a real live, tv-documented year long search then...so we'd finally have a chance for "proof"....

Some of the high level peoples from the American Air-Force (who have since 'retired') came out and told the American Government to release their information on UFO's. Will be interesting to see if anything comes of it.

Just last night I saw and add for a new show on the history channel all about this. It premiers sometime on Wednesday I believe.

carsho, i saw that on those history channel documentaries, but as i can see, most of what they had had released was all blacked out.....such an unfortunate thing, such a great loss.

Some sightings are covered-up because they are actually top secret projects...a percentage of those are said to of interest to investigators and so that causes the declassification of other related documents and info...things that eventually are declassified narrow down the "research pool ".

Then there are those that may have witnessed events that want the fame or credit for some unknown reason...who flood the research pool with files.Sadly these are the ones that do the leg work with the media (which just want sensationalism)TV by the way gets ratings regardless of the authenticity
of material.

So if say 12 photos/videos out of 100 are notable for research,the next step is to investigate the person who filed the case.Sometimes this reveals motive for hoax.There are a few photos I have seen both ghost and UFos that are remarkable even if they are not ET
they are still unexplainable.

I think most of the "sightings' have been fake. Now that we have experts on technology who can tell a fake when they see it, the sightings have dropped because no one can make money or get attention from it. I'm not saying that aliens do not exist, but I feel it prudent to question, when someone comes up with a photograph of a disk shape hung from fishing line.

The reasons behind hoaxes and the people who make them...is a branch of investigation that stands alone.when a person puts a lot of resources and "leg work'into a hoax ...or actually believes in the authanticity of a sighting (even if it has been explained)they get ugly fanatic when people confront them.NocYard makes a good point as well if they exist we are likely just a observable labratory to them.If they revealed themselves to us unfiltered by disinformation and generated counter hype we would smear their pitry dishes .

i fully agree that there are hoaxes, and i fully agree that a lot of what was covered up in the 70's and 80's was for the fact that we were working on quite a few new planes at that time, like the B-52 bomber (don't crucify me here folks, i think that is what it's called, you know, that black plane we built, i guess it took quite a few years of testing) and i am sure, that we are working on and testing more, so when there's weird lights in the sky, it's prolly something of our own creation being tested at night.

now, that still doesn't answer "everything" that is seen out there, and that's where it gets interesting.

When air force personal break rank and speak of such things I take note ,I even take note after they are denounced by others.However to give the AF its clever ruse option (disinformation) helps pin point key hot subject matter.

I think that the Aliens are still comming round but they have found ways to make themself hidden to the human eye and can't be seen by any survaliance or things like that. I think that they are still abducting people and doing studies on them and I think it is because there is something wrong with their genetics or something so they are trying to find the cure for it and think it might be in some human on this earth they just dont take us all at once because that would bring major attention to them more than there is now and they would be screwed because we would end up building a defense against them.

I mean I love my photoshop.... I could make you a fake alien siting right now and make it look real..... perhaps the sitings have dropped because it would be to difficult to make a hoax one now a days... at least one that people wouldn't say... oh you edited that....I mean who is to say that all the sitings haven't been and that if their are aliens.... they haven't bothered to come here and watch us...
